Not bad, too bad that there is a logo at the bottom tho.
If it was a Sony logo ok.

Thanks!
I've been looking for a leather-backed skin to increase grippiness without adding bulk.
Edit: only ships to Japan, unfortunately.
Edit 2: now it looks like you can specify a non-Japan address. Ordered!

Confirmed they do ship outside of Japan. I emailed toastmade and they also plan to release z3 wood cases as soon as they can get their hands on a phone.

I know these look nice and all, but what would happen to them if you dunk your phone in water? Sort of defeats the whole purpose of waterproof phone if you put a schmick back plate on it and gets ruined as soon as it gets in contact with water =\

You're asking a question and in the sentence after that you're answering your own question assuming something.
Most of these things have no problem with water.

Lol.. I was just thinking aloud. I wouldnt have asked if I didnt want clarification. Cause you know.. Usually when you have real wood or leather products you dont usually submerge them in water. Droplets I can see it handling no problem but I just had the thought come across my mind before I drop ~$35 on a back which could potentially get ruined after one instance of trying to show off the novelty of our water resistant phones.

Hmm I see, well I guess it depends what the manufacturer uses, some use real wood and some just use a texture to make it look like real wood, but in the end it would just be plastic or some sort.

Has anyone had the pleasure of ordering one of the skins from this company yet? I just recently got my dbrand skins and they were not what I was expecting. Still very slippery and the material is very unsatisfying. Can anyone clarify the feeling/quality of the skins from OP's company?

leather back
I have the black leather back on my white Z3 compact. It looks and feels like leather, not at all like DBrandz (which I also have). It has improved the grip and texture so much that I don't use a case if I have a lanyard attached. It's much thicker than any of the other skins which are plastic rather than leather, although at a push you can still add a case for extra protection on those occasions when it's needed without removing the back.
It was expensive to buy, and I paid an extra £18 to get it through UK customs but this single item has vastly improved the economics of the Z3 for me, which until now has been the single most disappointing thing with my Z3.
---------- Post added at 03:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:45 PM ----------
Just as an after thought, I wouldn't go swimming or take it in the shower with this back on as I suspect it's leather, but would be fine out in a bit of rain.
Also for those wondering about the logo 'colors' it's just printed on and would be easy enough to remove or even cover over with a black felt tip pen.
10/10 for me.

but is it real leather or just another plastic decal? In the case of real leather it would explain the high price ($30 for a sticker),

Can't someone make a thin case for a thin phone?

First off - let me disclaimer this:
Some people want the Fort Knox of cases. They are clumsy with their phone. They've experienced dropping their phone several feet to the ground. They want impact protection. The G-Shock of phone cases. And they aren't afraid to carry something the size of a brick with the appearance of something from Toys 'R Us in trade for that protection. No problem. Obviously there's no shortage of THOSE cases.
My problem is that there ONLY seem to be cases made for those kinds of people.
I'm looking for a case that more or less barely wraps the phone - not for impact resistance, but abrasion resistance, light protection from scratches. I keep my phone in my pocket 100% of the time, and I'm more than respectfully careful when it's out - call me paranoid. But I know from experience with [all my other phones that I've never bought a case for] that light scratches can appear over time.
One of the BEST things about the SGS2 is the thin profile of the phone - and I'm already disappointed to have lost 1mm of that thinness, but willing to live with it. With a phone this size already, I'm not willing to lose millimeters more. It's supposed to be a thin phone.
Jokes about Apple lawsuits aside, I wish there were a case more akin to the iPhone 4's bumper case - something that offered just minimal protection - when setting the phone down, perhaps a little impact protection of the phone were to fall - but not taking away from the overall thin profile of the phone with an enveloping, thick back panel. Hell, if I eventually had to replace the battery door, I can do that for less than the cost of a new case anyway.
Are there any cases for guys who want thin? Who don't want it for impact protection, just simple, pocketable, wear protection against minor scratches and the like? And - can that case look classy?
I've only seen this one, but it's for the regular SGSII, not the sprint version:
http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Ga...-S-II-Barely-There-Brushed-Aluminum-Cases.asp
Even that wraps fully around the phone and adds thickness... it merely offers the promise of being thin.
What's the thinnest option out there, if impact resistance weren't a concern?
I got my tpu case on with out the back battery cover, and it feels fairly thin, and will still provide some protection. The case is without the back cover stay flush with the camera. I am going to order another one with matte finish.
The TPU's are good and cheap too. A good holdover until the barelythere comes out...which I predict will be within a couple weeks.

The TPU-cases are really nice, and I was surprised that it didn't add much thickness at all. I did post a review here, along with some pictures.
The carbon kickstand case you can get at the store is perfect imo. The phone feels no bigger with it on.
I wish Rearth (http://www.rearthusa.com/) would make a case for the ET4G, but last I emailed them they weren't intererested at this time since A) it wasn't out yet, and B) they didn't anticipate high demand for it.

How's that sprint kickstand case? Is it the fold into a triangle kick stand or an actual bar that pops up? It looks similar to my buddy's trianglish plastic kickstand case on his tmobile GSI vibrant and that thing is a piece of junk. Fits the phone like it was chisselled out of plastic, looks like $hit.
For $30 it better be sexy.

Not a triangle but a little wider than most bar kickstands I've seen. My gripe with that case is it doesn't cover the top and bottom of the phone, it fits more like a holster than a case. And for $30 thats IMO unacceptable.
I'm waiting for seidio to make a case for this phone, loved the innocase I have on my hero and it wasnt very thick at all.
How about a stick on skin if you want the thinnest "cover" possible?

I'm using a gloss-black TPU at the moment (and loving it) but I'm really considering one of those kickstands. I've put my phone in one a few times. It looks good but for the money it feels really inadequate.
Thanks for all the good suggestions...
I did actually read that review of the TPU case... one of my coworkers has one on his 3D. In his case, it covered the camera hump and made the phone thinner - the implementation on this phone seems much better.
For the money, it's tempting to at least as a stop gap to use for a few months to see what becomes available - or I'll just use none as a stop gap, like I've done with all my other phones. This one just seems like a phone worthy of babying more than I already do baby my lifeline.
A skin... I'm not aware of any, but I'm initially cringing thinking of what kind of vinyl wrap that may imply... cartoon characters, immature sayings, dragons and swords, flames, or what? Maybe something that's just a texture or color?

There are a number of companies that make removable, transparent "full body" skins. I've had good luck with both Skinomi and Zagg protectors in the past.

Just emailed support to ask with a link to the item listed; I should hear back in next couple of days. From the listing, it looks like the kind of site that sells to 3rd party vendors, and since the packaging says Sprint branded, I suspect this is meant for non-corporate Sprint stores. Just a guess, but I will update if I hear anything back.
PS I bought the kickstand case and I kinda hated it, returned it within the hour... felt flimsy and overpriced, and it was more of a bad holster than a case; barely held the phone in and the kickstand was very tough to un-clip. I never say a product is not for anyone, but it certainly wasn't for me.

air cooling case for GN. (pic inside)

Actually, I really dont know how to describe such case.
Since there many holes on the back and might be help for to cool down GN.
So I just call it air cooling case.
There're also other kind of case with holes on ebay and taobao. But they are
too rough and too ugly. Usually cost around 3RMB,but u won't want to put it
on your GN which might scratch ur GN.
I bought this one around 10USD. And the color is green with little bit metal
feeling.
The only disadvantage is: It won't fit with 2000mah battery. So u can only use
1750mah battery with it.

Seems cheaper from the company: http://www.anymode.com/shop/goods/goods_view.php?goodsno=12347476

Plenty of cheap ones.
These are called "Mesh snap on" cases.
Here's for the GSM Nexus: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=i9250+mesh&_sacat=0
$1.92
There's no "snap on mesh" cases for the Verizon, they're more fully formed so it's not cheap.

Great case! I ended up getting it from eBay since I can't read Korean/Chinese nor trust signing up with credit card info to foreign websites I don't understand. Nice matte finish on the black one here. Feels solid, snug and good in the hand. The wrap-around to the front leaves just enough of a gap between housing and screen that edge-to-edge screen protectors should work nicely. And the design and materials seem excellent for signal, WiFi and NFC (unlike my last case)! Would definitely buy again.
Very, very pleased... now I just need my Fantom tempered glass screen protector:

Those ones don't really count. The pictures show a full case with the snap on mesh that goes over it. So the mesh on those cases is just for looks.
My issue with these mesh cases is that dust collects in the holes REALLY easily. :\

It seemed to be about the best available. There isnt much available for the HTC one. Its a very good phone, but i'm not sure that the sales have been enough for makers like Ballistic or Otterbox to do versions of their premium water resistant cases for it.
I think due to the front speakers, It's really hard for them to make some waterproof/resistant cases.......

You would be more happy buying a camera actually meant for this. You can find a waterproof Olympus that takes better pics than the phone for $80-100 on Amazon, or an even better used one on eBay.

I was really keen on this at one stage. Then Choice Magazine (in Australia) did a review. Lost interest pretty fast at that point.
Its actually not a spray. Apparently they put the phone in a chamber, introduce a vapor , and rack up the temp.
Actually, given the HTC One doesn't come apart i dont think it would be do-able.

Its at work at the moment and i'm not there till thursday, but will try and remember.
Having had it now, i'm actually a bit disappointed. I'm sure its waterproof, but the design with the locking "ring halves" means that side buttons are very hard to access. Having had it in hand it doesn't actually seem to be any better protection than one of the waterproof "bag" style cases like Dicapac and makes the side buttons less accessible than on one of those.
Also, in a larger bag style i would be able to use the normal, drop resistant hard shell case as well.
That said, the touch screen in the krusell works ok, and sound through the silicon is fine. Photos through the clear section on the back are ok, but noticeably worse than out of the case.

The rain/wind resistance listed on their website is conspicuously absent from the packaging the One's case comes in. On the plus side, it does feel like it would survive a throw from a moving vehicle now. The UAG though much prettier, smaller and lighter seems almost flimsy in comparison to this tank of a case.

skin/wrap feedback

I've never used a skin/wrap before and bring averse to bulky cases I thought I might give them a try.
If you've used them before I'd like to know more about your experience: ease of application, residue after removal, durability/longevity, feel and overall satisfaction.
I returned my XZ1 compact and have pre-ordered a pixel 2 and would like to have my accessories in place when it arrives.
Thanks for the feedback!

I've used them. I like them but almost always wind up taking them off - don't really know why honestly. I didn't think anyone was shipping yet for the Pixel 2 but I could be wrong. My thoughts
Easy to apply, use a hair dryer and be patient
No residue after removal
No issues with longevity. They seem to stick around. Sometimes at the beginning you get a lot of dirt trapped along the edges but that goes away.
The biggest thing for me is grip and honestly none of the regular skins offer anything meaningful. Even the dragon one from Dbrand which was supposed to be super grippy didn't feel noticeably different to me than a regular skin. Dbrand has a narrow scoped, predictable, good product and great customer service. Meaning, they aren't offering crazy variety but just offering what they know works reliably. SlickWraps goes out of their way to make unique textures and materials such as natural wood and leather. Many people have had a ton of CS issues with them though. My favorite skin of all time is Alcantara from SlickWraps as it is soft touch and grippy but it does not go all the way around and also is rather thick.
I usually wind up with something like Peel as a case.

My first time trying a wrap. I'm not a fan of cases. But this just feels and looks like I have a sticker on my phone - especially on the curved backside corners.
It also collects fuzz like crazy. I'll be pulling mine off when my case gets here, out maybe just leave it on in my case.

Unless you go the natural selection, they are literally stickers lol. That fuzz collection will stop once the residual adhesive on edges fades
Anyone else have experiences with skins on this phone
Anybody know if there is a camera lens protector available? I'm worried about scratching it, but I don't want the bulk of a case.

I'm looking as well, when I had a Nexus 5 couple years ago. I think slickwraps or possibly dbrand was selling lense film protectors for it, but I have yet to find one for the pixel2

I just wanted to add my feedback on the dbrand dragon skin.
The dragon skin has a really nice leathery feel and definitely adds grippiness to the phone.
However, the one down side of using a full back + side skin is that because the physical power and volume buttons don't protrude very much from the phone, you kind of lose the tactile feel of them.
Kind of torn as to keep or peel it off. It is kind of weird not to be able to feel the power and volume buttons
Anyone get anything like Alcantara yet?

Do you get the sense that a case would fit over the skin? I'm considering one, but wouldn't necessarily want to remove and ruin it if I opted for a case afterward.

I used the spigen case over the dbrand skin for a couple days and it fit just fine. However, I decided I preferred no case - the dragon skin feels really nice with great grip.
One thing I do recommend from dbrand is to get a glass skin (or use the bonus one that's included) in addition to your normal full skin. The doubling up (or even tripling) of skins on the glass section make it just high enough to clear the stupid camera bump, and hopefully help prevent it from scratching when putting your phone on it's back.
I prefer clear TPU skins. They add significant grip on your hands and don't slide on flat surfaces. Plus, they are clear so you don't hide the phone's design.

Yikes. I've never seen anything like this. I believe I've had both Dbrand and SlickWraps, and both have been great, no fuzzies, and go on clean and tight. I had a nice light and dark wood (stickers only) for my Note5. I also have a real leather one that I never used, and may try to "mod" it for my Pixel 2 XL that's in the mail (so excited!!). I hate to see that nice leather go to waste. But it probably won't match up well and will probably look super-wanky. We'll see.
And the Pixel 2 looks like it may have the Nexus 5 soft matte back, am I wrong? Skins may not stick quite right, as opposed to the glass-back of the Note5.
(edit: just realized we have a Pixel 2 XL forum as well. I thought they'd just use one, but apparently dev is diff for each? Interesting...)
Love my red panda
Here my Dbrand with color G logo.

dBrand skins for z2 play?

I messaged dbrand to see if they would be making skins for the z2 series in the future and they basically said no. I'd really prefer to put one on the back of this phone, and was looking at maybe purchasing the original z1 back skin and seeing if it fits.
I think it should as they are moto-mod interchangable so should be skin-interchangable. Anyone have a dbrand skin on their z2 play/force?

I have not done this, but am considering.
I agree with your assessment that the back skin should fit.
I would be interested in a screen-skin of that kind, that would not be the same as Z Play, but gadgetshieldz does not plan this either. Skinomi though does have similar skins for the Z2, but is pricewise only really interesting for US-residents because of the shipping costs.

did you ever buy one to try and see if it fit?

I'm thinking of getting the Moto Z one for my Z2 Play...I had the Moto Z dbrand for my Moto Z Play and it fit just fine. From what I can tell, the only difference between the Z/Z Play and the Z2 Play is the little gold strip on the back under the pins, it's a different shape (slightly)
I had applied z play skin on my z2 play, I purchased it from a seller on Instagram.
The only flaw that i found in Z Play skin is, there remains a empty circle sort of below the camera because camera modules are different rest all perfect.

The one for the Moto Z fits fine
Only thing I'd day is that the cutout for the gold strip below the contacts is a slightly different shape but this is nothing major.

This is so damn awesome. Doesn't look like a skin at all. Love the way dbrand gave the cutout for mods. All other skin maker give a big cut exposing the mod area, but this one is so precise. I wish i can get this in India.
So, I got dbrand, Z Play camera and back skins.
Can anyone say with certainty, that the cameras on the Z Play and Z2 Play are the same?
Particularly the two small, sensors, to the left of the lens, when looking at the back of the phone. It can seem either was, depending on viewing angle.
ETA, I couldn't be certain that the camera sensors were not covered. The wife had a 1/8" hole punch for crafting. I used this to enlarge the sensor holes, in the vinyl skin and in an pleased with the results.
FYI, the CARBON FIBER skin is thicker than the TITANIUM skin. I think the thicker the better, for the protruding camera protection.
I used A DRAGON Z Play skin on the Otterbox Commuter, in order to add grip to what I thought was a slippery case.
there is an alternative Skinomi, has Z²P carbon fiber skins.

I'll let you know in a week or so. I ordered one, it comes next week. I also had to order a Heat gun, as I don't own a blow dryer.
I'll let you know and post pictures once I am done.

its not the easiest thing to do, especially on a gold or lighter colored phone. but it's serviceable.

Well done!
Do you like it?
How does it feel?
How does it compare to other brands?
Could you still get a case on it?

its just like any other skin. I used to have one on my laptop like it. it's a plastic kinda like latex lol.
my eyesight is poor, so I had a hard time lining everything up. the sides are easy, but getting the back on straight was a challenge.
Yes mods work fine with it, even the Gamepad Mod, which is the worst as the whole phone has to fit into it.
my Metal bumper case fits well too,.
it's thin, so I don't think it would interfere with any case.
I don't know how it compares to other phone skin brands, as this is my first one. until I stumbled upon this thread, I had no idea they existed.
i don't like the camera protector, so I left it off (I have a clear one in the mail)
you really must have a blow dryer or heat gun.
For me, it hides the corner damage I told you about. and the black/gold looks very nice. actually it really does look good. just they could've done a better job on volume buttons (see picture)

I think every couple of months I'll change to a different color/texture. but I imagine the black on gold will be hard to beat.
This summer I might try the wood.
for the price, it's worth it. And it makes your phone look new again.
use the Coupon if you try it.
BTW, There are full front tempered glass plates for the front on eBay, so you can change the front to White or Black. Refresh your phone!

its better than the slippery metal, but nothing exceptional.
it's a rubbery material so that's a bit less slippery. , and you can feel the texture. but nothing outside a good case (or one of the Mods) will make this wafer thin phone truly gripable.
best Mod compatible case (all mods fit/works except Gamepad mod)
nice buttons, good protection.
looks expensive, paid only $10.00 from US retailer, but it costs around $5.00 from China on eBay.

The bumper can be used, without the back of the case, when a Moto Mod is installed?
What is the brand name?
Where did you buy it?
