I just picked up a Note 4 from AT&T. The phone is working great except for one issue that I'm having. I downloaded CS portable from the play store and the game crashes when I try to open it. I also tried downloading another FPS game called Special Force Net, and this game crashes upon opening as well.. I have a few other games on the phone that work, but the two mentioned will not. CS portable works fine on my 2013 Nexus 7. My girlfriend has an AT&T Note 4 also, and I tried downloading the same to games on her phone. They crashed there too.. Any ideas on what causing this, maybe these games don't support the newer 805 qualcom chip yet?

I've been having crashing issues with real racing 3 even on my note 2 and tablet. I think part is new chip, but other is lazy game devs favoring a certain device and not optimizing for android. I have a note 2, a note 4, and a note pro 12.2.

Getting straight to the point. The samsung appstore there are free gameloft games.
The screenshot below is of 6 free games from about 15 free games (i think). Most of them HD!

No loss though, as all these games are just crappy trials.
Have had no problems with Nova, GT Racing and Modern Combat.
But they were downloaded directly from Gameloft.

I think Riptide GP, a game with Tegra enhancements, is impressive and is easy to hand over to anyone and have them get into it right away.
For apps, I guess Google Earth would knock Grandma's socks off .
Cs portable and whale trail. These are not tegra optimized, but there is no doubt that they look great. I am addicted to cs portable and would love to know what drugs the devs of whale trail where on when they created that gane. Must of been shrooms or sumin.

Some advice from me would be to stay away from gameloft for now. They have a funny way of creating games. Dont get me wrong there games are great but there just not that good on our nexus 7. If you are gong to buy a gameloft game make sure you read the description to see if its tegra 3 optimized or any mention of the nexus 7. If not then dont buy the game. The only acception i can give you is modern combat 3 and nova 3. Nova 3 is a bit so so, while mc3 plays great.
Dont get asphalt 7 until you see a update in the play store. Right now it is on version 1.0.0. I have it myself and it is not optimized the way it should be (ie: bad graphics and low frame rate).
Just be careful as to what you buy as the nexus is new device and you can very easily be disapointed as many games need to b updted.

I want to buy the note 2, but there is one thing that's holding me back:
When I played on a friend's device (stock jelly bean), I noticed some lag between issuing order to the character, and the actual action. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? When I play on an iPhone (4s, if it matters) no lag is apparent
I haven't seen any lag playing that or any other game. NFS MW included. Stock unrooted.

I havent had any lag either I play temple run daily. I am rooted though but prior to rooting I didnt have any then either

Try wiping the cache or re installing it. If it still lags then there is some bug in the game. Gta 3 and need for speed run perfect on this phone so a simple game like temple run should have no issues. Quadcore exynos processor. Enough said.

Out of all the android phone I have, the note 2 play temple run and temple run brave flawlessly. Temple run brave is one of the game produces a lot of lag in my previous android devices but note 2 is smooth as butter. Im completely stock on latest ota unrooted.
Oh, tested my ipad 3 and my wife's iphone 5, the note 2 handle the game just well with no notice lag.
I haven't had any lag either and I also leave a lot of apps running usually in the background while I play games since I'm too lazy to exit them

I have just brought Micromax canvas HD...and now temple run 2, angry birds, rail rush are lagging very much.. even low end games like fruit ninja is also lagging...I had hard reset my phone two times but still games are lagging... also many apps are crashing many times... so plz help sir....
I have not tested high end games like GTA asphalt...will they also lag in quad core MMX canvas HD....
Perhaps the phone was on power saving mode. That could have made a huge difference in speed. I keep my phone on power saving unless I'm playing a game and the speed is easily visible.

However, my grudge is against the GPU, which is less important to platform emulation than it is to native Android games. While it is enough for any game I actually play on S4 Mini, it is showing its middle-end teeth on the games like Iron Man or even Vice City. And I started to wonder what this Adreno 305 GPU is actually about. I've been for quite some time apart from recent 3D Android titles, and have seldom spare time for checking anything that is downloadable to figure out for myself.
So I wanted to know what games are the most GPU-intensive and demanding so I could test them and get a grip on the general GPU performance of S4 Mini. Not that it would change anything, but once the curiosity starts to spread... From Youtube videos I know that N.O.V.A. 3 runs quite good.

Thanks, I'll check out some of these games tonight.
However, from my experience with 2011 Xperia Play I can state the following:
Dead Space, Shadowgun, Mass Effect and Need for Speed Most Wanted will run flawlessly on anything even remotely more powerful than Adreno 205, which is considerably behind Adreno 305.
Btw, I forgot to add that Carmageddon, GPU-accelerated mode of FPSE and N64oid run flawlessly as well. But I believe they are not GPU-demanding enough to push the limits of S4 Mini.
Take a look at a game called "The Room". Quite fun as a puzzle game and looks quite nice.
Seem to hit some snags here and there. You determine if it's poor optimisation or if it's just GPU-intensive.
Another game that looks quite good from the screenshots (don't really play fast-paced games on my phone) is a game called Galaxy on Fire 2 HD (it's free).
Galaxy on Fire 2 HD isn't supported on the I9195 though

That is in "your case" through the playstore yes. If you get the APK from other sources, you can install it. Basically most games that say "Not Compatable" are compatable anyways.. it's just the playstore that thinks your device is not supported.
Beware that if you have editted your build.prop and your DPI, playstore can also have compatability issues because its 240dpi for this device.
Also I'm not listing games if they do not work, obviously!
NOVA3 just works fine.

Try out Ravensword. Runs on the unity engine but graphics are pretty good! It's been described as skyrim for Android, minus the largeness.

I have Xperia M (Can't afford more than that) , it also have Adreno 305 , i can run games like Dead Trigger , Shadow Gun , Real Racing 3 ,Asphalt 7 and 8 and the game runs pretty smooth , too bad i can't play games like MC4 and NOVA 3 cuz of its internal size . Nevertheless , its a good GPU :good:

try ppsspp and play almost all your old psp games.so if it runs like a psp that's basically a portable gaming console...at least for me...even plays at higher resolutions....connect a joypad...but I try to keep gaming to a minimum...as in most lithium batteries, it will really push out the charge cycles and the battery is not replacable...still excellent bat life for me at least....
I think it's one of the best tablets on the market.

This! All Games i have are Smooth to play without laggs or something similar.
Games i tested:
GTA: San Andreas
GTA: Vice City
Ravensword2
NOVA 3
Order & Chaos
and a bunch of games like Final Fantasy (3 - 5), EKO online, Iruna Online, world of goo etc
All this Games are playable on the highest settings.
Its one of the higher spec tablets (if not the highest spec tablet in the "smaller" 7 to 8" form factor), so obviously its going to hold its own with games for some time to come.
Tablet is great, but the battery should be better.

So being the proud owner of samsung galaxy S3 I found my self jealous of my friend being able to play Magic the gathering duels of the planeswalkers 2014 on his samsung galaxy tab 7 everywhere i read that the game is only compatible in tablets and thought hey I can do the same so purchased the slightly larger screen and better spec Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet on craigslist brand new, quickly destroyed the box and jumped to the play store ready to get my beast on! And surprice surprice! "Your device is not compatible" irritating would be how I would describe my current status if some one can shed some light as of how to over come this aweful situation im not trying to illegally obtain the game I want to pay for it and play it be able to get addons and updates please help and thanks in advance.

I think you can unlock all apps/games in the app store (even those that are not compatible with your device) by installing xposed framework and the appropriate module using wanam xposed or xblast from the play store. Not 100% sure but worth a look unless someone else can shed some light or suggest something else.
