Exactly. Might as well call Sprint and ask them to unlock it for you.

If it has the 'Sprint' logo painted on it, you may not be able to use it on AT&T.
I suggest call AT&T first, to see 'if' you can...
then proceed from there.
wish I could help.. sorry

[Q] LG G3 (T Mobile Unlock)

Will you be able to unlock the LG G3 in the near future?
Like through websites which gives you codes to unlock it for a fee?
My situation:
Currently in the USA but will go to Asia to continue studying. (Will get the LG G3 in less than a week from T-Mobile raffle)
how in the world would anyone be able to answer that question, since the phone hasn't even been released yet?????
I said in the near future.
I bet we have experienced unlockers here so I ask for their answers if it is possible or not.

Yes but how are they supposed to know....without the phone you are just asking someone to guess.... So here goes NO
Or maybe yes or who freaking knows
better hope they don't start locking them like sprint and Samsung did the note 3 .... No unlock but from sprint

yes, happy now?
unlock for free? i doubt it
paid for unlock, pretty sure you'll be to.
why not sell the phone and buy a phone in the asian country you'll be going to, you'll be able to get LTE there since you might not have the correct LTE bands for that country
If you snoop around the site, for info on bringing non-Tmobile phones in. It has rules for unlocking our phone. But they include "fully paid off phone" and minimum service and account time before they will let us.
If you talk to a customer service rep and explain your situation they might let you unlock sooner.

Some people have the phone, I had the phone but sold it and you will be able to buy a unlock code for a few bucks
-Buy the phone outright you get the request put in at the store. (What I did)
-Own the phone for a billing cycle and call 611/800-937-8997(T-Mobile Customer)
—Buy unlock code from eBay for $8(Non-Customer)

Bought mine outright at the store tonight, when i asked about an unlock code, guy said I had to wait 45 days or some crap. So was he telling me BS? Guess I'll have to call customer service to do this.
I requested an unlock code and cellunlocker and its been more than 4 hours and they still havent sent me a code.

Working great! I cant believe how fast you were where the "other guys" are still sitting on processing for me. Im gonna see if i can cancel it. Thanks!!!
need help
I used the unlock code that i received from the link in your signature..
when I put in the code, it said network unlocked.. BUT somehow it didnt work. cant make calls or anything. As if it was still locked.
So i went back into the screen where you put the unlock code, and now there is NO prompt for it.. it simply says you cant personalize this phone.
I only attempted the code once..
any advice?

Although i am not from the USA, i would assume metroPCS dont use gsm sim card. And that ur phone probably doesnt have that frequency band that can work with metroPCS

While this is excellent news, whatever the method is will not work on the AT&T variant.
This is a major deciding factor for me on getting the Note 4. Root is a must have just for AdAway and Xposed.

Because AT&T locks down all of their bootloaders. This makes it nearly impossible to root or flash custom roms. They've been doing this since last summer with the Galaxy S4.
Ya unfortunately. ATT's phone's for the most part have been rooted by geohots. Who now... Works for Google to fix the exploits for possible rooting. The ATT G3 was able to get rooted by Towelroot, I hope the same goes for Note 4... but I doubt it.
Yes, this is only for note 4's with unlocked bootloaders. It will not work on AT&T's or Verizon's. Possibly good news for the T-Mobile version though, as soon as we can get a stock rom dump to chainfire.
BTW: I would change my subject line OP so people don't get confused.
This is the first phone I have paid for not under contract. So as I started doing research u read about AT&T locking the bootloader. So last night I preordered the T-mobile phone just to have this ability. I did have to sign up for $50 a month just to be a customer but I will be a customer. I will cancel after the first month.

This will be my first time I am trying to convert a phone from one carrier to another. when I get the phone will I be able to just stick my existing AT&T sim card in to it and it work or will I have to wait for the 40 days and ask tmo to unlock it?
I know the iPhone 6/6+ came unlocked for tmo and you could just stick the AT&T sim card directly in to it and it would work.

From what I've gathered from the note 3 threads, we will most likely have to pay a website a fee to get an unlock code if we don't want to wait 40 days on contract for tmobile to do it. Chainfire released an app that had a "side effect" of carrier unlocking the sim for the Note 3. Whether that happens with the Note 4 remains to be seen. I'm just going to assume I'll have to pay a fee to an unlocking website.

I've had an htc one m7 with att and then wanted to sell it to a guy on craigslist who had t-mobile. you must sim unlock the device, it's a code. Just tell at&t or tmobile that you have a trip going to europe and need the phone unlocked to be able to use it. Then they will give you the unlock code. Put in the att sim card it will ask for a code then put it in.
What I did was I paid a guy on ebay 4$ to get the code and I got it within 5 seconds att was taking too long and the guy wanted the phone that day.
Guys are you sure that the T-Mobile Note 4 will fully work with AT&T?

No one will know for certain until the phones actually come out, but if you go by the cellular bands announced for the T-Mobile version, it should work.
SO... Now that some have the Note 4 for ATT... Does this work or not?

No, and don't try it either.
CF-ROOT won't ever work on AT&T Note 4 because it requires an unlocked bootloader to achieve it.

Is the AT&T bootloader def locked?
Won't be able to tell you until tomorrow
For all of you who are freaking out about it being a locked bootloader...so was the LG G3 for AT&T...we just got TWRP on it last week. Took 3 months but it is doable from the right people.
It was called "Bump" and I have tested the unlock myself with full custom twrp recovery & root.

This may be of some use to us.

Verizon model, unfortunately it'll be no use to us on Att.

Ditto.
Bootloaders are locked in a similar manner though. And it says that they will have to be unlocked on the dev edition
If it doesn't directly help us, it can help us figure out a method.

I was thinking / hoping the same thing.
If it has the att bands it will work. Verizon phones aren't sim locked.
Well I'm talking about it being used to find a possible unlock or root for our device.

There is also a Developer Edition for at&t. You can get it at any T-Mobile store.
Well... Some people can't afford to do so, or like me, can't afford to wait to get one after selling this phone. It is currently my only working phone for AT&T. I would do an outright trade, but no one around me wants to do it.

Time sensitive: unlocked Note 4 work on Sprint?

I'm looking at purchasing an unlocked Note 4 (the buyer says he purchased unlocked via best buy. Does this mean it's the international version?). Will this work on Sprints network?
I know my current Note 3 has a sim looking tray from my card.
Thank you!
Unlocked could mean he bought the phone outright which means it will work for Sprint.
I would ASK him for more details.
Are you able to see the device first?
Also would an At&t Note 4 work for Sprint?
Would I have to root or unlock the GSM phone to work on a CDMA network?
If anyone could chime in that'd be great! Thanks!!
