I think - yes, but make a backup

Does this have the same problem where you can't remonut the system? as in partial root?
Cause the link you directed has that issue.

I say "for example - this"

Sorry for misunderstanding, I still don't get it lol. well I am halfway through the download cause I am no expert in doing the ram disk thingy, even if I knew it I really can't atm. That's why I was looking for a pre-rooted firmware. anyways I'll try your rom

BTW, do u have rooted ROM Xperia Z2 Tablet[SGP521][23.0.1.A.0.167]? Share a link.

Remote play?
Will PS4 remote play with this? Just got my Xperia 2 tablet today and I am reading around and I am not sure.

I am not sure - I am not play. You may test this.

I saw from another post that remote play does not work on rooted devices. Do i have to be rooted for this to work?

I'm on cyanogene ROM nightly and ps4 remote work fine but you need to use with xposed module to fix error.
Be carrefull if you use official ROM you need DRM key ans lock bootloader to use PS4 REMOTE APP. If you l'Oise it or dont save it. You can't Nevers boot this app and original ps4 app.

Screen of Death on flash
I've now flashed this three times with the Screen of Death each time.
I'm on .314 ROM rooted with TWRP 2.7.1.0, locked bootloader. I flash the rom, wipe cache/dalvik, flash de-odex/supersu and reboot and just black screen. I get red flashing LED if I plug it in, and can get into flash mode if I hold VolUp/Down. If I press and hold power button to turn it on it vibrates once but does nothing. If I hold VolUp and Power it does nothing. However if I plug it in then hold VolUp and Power it I get the three vibrations, but still nothing.
Only way I could get it back was flashtool back to .314. I'm trying to get on rooted .167. Any idea why it keeps doing this?

this is NOT a rom but to DEODEX .167 , if root is all you want, then flash the prerooted .167 ftf the op offers in the first post.
If you want to speed up your boot times, then use this flashable zip AFTER you flash .167

Please could someone share me systemUI.apk

[Q] Xperia Arc won't boot after CWM crash

I am new at all this stuff but i think I'm starting to somehow get a hang of it. I rooted my phone this week running .587 by downgrading the kernel etc, you know. Today I wanted to try another rom so I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955248 To install Xperia Ultimate HD on my phone with a locked bootloader.
However during step 8 CWM shut down and started to boot. But it doesn't start and I'm unable to get back into CWM My computer won't recognise the phone so I can't flash the kernel or do a complete reset using SUS. What do I do? is it save:able?
Been doing flashtool ftf recoveries whenever this occured. Do not power on arc s with it stuck. let flashtool self boot to flash mode and you will be back in buisness again.

ok first since ur stuck flash back to stock using flash tools n then follow the procedure.. i had a similar problem n i fixed it.. it was a very simple prob.. for installing these custom roms u ve to format system/ , so if ur using the cwm app by pvyparts ul loose the cwm after wiping it.. all u ve to do is after flashing the custom rom ul ve to install CWM back (use cwm version 5 available in the thread by pvyparts.. not the latest one..)
here's the thread for CWM
n post back if it works..
Thanks guys, really appreciate it, will try these methods out.
Still won't work
I tried doing all the different things you said but the phone won't boot holding in the back button and inserting the datacable. The light on the side turns green but nothing else happens.

I was also stuck at Sony logo and it reboots every time just after sony logo. Then i used flashtool, flashed using "LT15i_4.1.B.0.587_Kernel.ftf".....
Now it boot further, but only to XPERIA logo, and then reboots....but certain times i have seen it getting past the logo, like it shows a display asking for pc companion, even the taskbar too with time and blutooth icon on it....but all of a sudden it reboots. i have tried rebooting more than a 100 times, while taking out battery everytime.
Also, I'm not able to get into recovery mode. I tried this using the combination of power on, and when sony logo appears, pressing and releasing volume down repeatedly. I hope i'm doing right.
So what should I do?? am not able to use this phone for a week...
Please help me out.
Ok got it working. I just unlocked the boot loader from sony bootloader site(sorry couldn't post the link, because of low post count)
So, it booted up but show error as soon as put a sim, that "Unfortunately keypad has stopped working".
I figured out the culprit, it is the build version with i flash it. I reflashed it with LT15i_4.1.B.0.431_kernel.ftf, now it working fine like a charm.
So much relief...!!
Hope this may help someone too...so i shared!!!

[Q] Bricked Xperia S??

Hi,
First time poster here. I've done a lot of searching to find people with the same problem but can't. Sorry if it's out there and I've missed it.
Essentially I’m worried that I’ve bricked my Xperia S (running ICS). My problem is this:
First I rooted using this link: http://www.xperiagamer.com/Beginners-Guides/rooting-xperia-s.html
Then I installed CWM Recovery using the RecoverX project: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773227
Then I tried to flash cyanogenmod 9 but failed.
I saw somewhere that it mught help to flash XTXperience so I did that. This failed and my Xperia S boots up to the Sony sign then fails and starts again just cycling through.
I can't get in to fastboot mode via CWM or otherwise. When plugged in to the laptop it is recognised but the computer can’t find the drivers (I've tried to instal manually) and then the phone reboots so the computer can no longer see it.
Can anyone help please??!!
Thanks

Keep pressing Unlock key + Volume Down key until you get 3 vibrates.
The phone is now off and you can connect it into flashmode and reflash your ics firmware.
The other thing you can do is going into CWM and wipe data and cache (that worked once for me when I had a bootloop)
--> you will lose all your data.
For CM you first have to install the kernel via fastboot and then go into CWm and flash the CM.zip file.

Thanks but that doen't seem to work. All i can get it to do is turn off with power and volume up. When it comes back on again it just cycles through again.
Can't get it to communicate with the computer at all - it recognises it but can't find drivers. then the phone disconnects itself in the reboot.

If you can find a way to copy a ROM file into the fone we can flash it. The fone isnt being recognized by the PC , but the CWM works and it cannot mount as a USB Storage as some lunfile is missing . I am also on the same page and struggling for hours

A tip for the newbies out here:
Read everything carefully. Chances of bricking a Sony device is quite low because of Sony's dev support but you will have moments of anxiety and lots of torn hairs. As a way to start, please go through all the top stickied posts in the Dev section and understand what are the many processes happening. It doesn't take more than a couple of hours to go through them but in the long run, helps you to enjoy your device better. Hope you will have a good time with the S

[Q]Touchscreen, menu, back and search keys dead

Christophelaures said:
Hello people,
I've got a problem on my phone. The touchscreen isn't working, the back key, the search key and the menu key aren't working anymore.
I don't know whats the problem, the software part of the phone seems to work (everytime I start the phone, I get into recovery (automatically, I don't know why)) I can flash zips and I can navigate trough the recovery using the home key and volume buttons or using the gamepad. I entered the key test, and I pressed the three keys there, but I didn't say anything. I also had some zips using aroma, and there, the touchscreen didnt work either.
Last time I used the phone, I did work well, but then I started an emulator and slided the gamepad out; at that moment the keys(only search at that moment I believe) and the touchscreen weren't working anymore. I restarted the phone, and now I can't boot into the rom, it always puts the phone in recovery.
I was using the MIUI Australia Rom by Cosmic that with the kernel which came with it. Once it didn't work anymore, I tried flashing another Rom or reflashing MIUI again, but naturally, that didn't help. I can't enter fastboot mode or flashmode, since the needed keys don't work.

Had this problem before but it was my home key that died. Could not enter flashmode either to flash back a stock ftf. How I solved it was doing an update with Sony Update Centre. All my problems had disappeared. Same thing happened ti another user on here a few months back, he solved it the same way I had.

[Q] Mysterious problems with used Phone... HELP!

Hi guys!
So, my sister got a Galaxy Ace II yesterday with some ode stuff, then I decided to install Cyanomod 11, BUT more problems appered:
1 - My Windows 7 (64bits) doesn't recognize the drivers.. so it no even list the phone as conected. I tried using Kies to detect and a bunch of packages of drivers of this smartphone model, but till now haven't made any progress... what can I do?
2 - I reseted the phone to original especifications by his own menu and tried to acess its Download and Recovery mode by pressing the 3 buttons at the same time(Vol UP + Home + Power), but for my surprise it didn't boot like it should, jus initializing normaly...what can I do?
3 - I realized, when it booted, that the boot animation has been changed, samsung logo doesn't apper ever and including I found some stuff installed that doesn't seem to be something that generic stock roms have instaled; this made me think that the room installed is not its stock. If that's so, maybe the problems listed above are resolved, but still so I don't know what to do...
I want to install Cyanomod 11, but need the phone recognized for Windows, it rooted and in download mode, but haven't find a way to begin if my computer doesn't reconize it...
Any Help?

Yes, I hold the 3 buttons at once and waited to it boot, but it jus performed the normal boot, it didn't get into download or recovery mode... I tried many times, but it's always the same...
And I know that CM has it's own boot animation, I know it, but it's not it this time... it's another one... and for what I know, it's not the samsung original one...
Having Kies installed is counterproductive to installing flashing drivers (and if you sync contacts and calendars with Google I can't even think of why you need it :angel
Try unplugging the cable while entering recovery, the LPM mode (charging while "off") screws it up (but download mode should work!)
And by "no Samsung logo", you mean not even the firmware's "Samsung GALAXY ACE 2 GT-i8160"? Sounds like you got a fake then...
But if it boots, you should check the Settings/About menu and tell us the "build version", often that's enough to know what ROM is on it now

Recovery mode is: with power off, hold up+home+power (if it's on, it will reset since you're holding down power... keep holding it) and download mode is the same with down+home+power...
But that version is VERY dubious, the standard Ace never had "SC6820" (maybe it's the L model?) and I don't even think it was out at the start of 2012...

Strange, afaik galaxy ace 2 is shipped with 2.3.6 android.
Did you succed booting in downlaod mode ( Vol down + home + power )
you have to flash Stock JB and we will see what is going on

When I Google it I noticed it too..
No, I still couldn't reboot it nor in download nor in recovery mode...
Even doing what Ryccardo said, it still boots normally..

So could you please post a photo of the sticker under the battery (preferably with the entire inside back of the phone showing)?

Ah, sorry, I remember how much the <10 post restrictions sucked
But back to your problem, this is not an Ace 2... I suspected it since you posted that version number:
Googling "sc6820_modem" has http://www.pandawillforum.com/archive/index.php?t-18643.html at the end of the 1st page
2nd post there mentions "Star I8160"
Googling "Star i8160" on images shows http://www.gldron.com/media/tmp/catalog/product/6/4/64cfade20f06e0e31ffd853fb1f8009a.jpg as 5th result... while searching the version number on images shows a lot of Samsung clones...
Unfortunately you have fake galaxy ace 2 (
You cant intall any rom on that device

By this you both mean I don't have much to do to change the rom?

You surely can't use roms from these forums... There may be other roms for your device but you'll have to find out what it actually is first, which can be somewhat difficult...
Poor sister of mine.. She won't be happy in knowing this...
Anyway I wanna thank you Ryccardo and Rox!
You both Saved me a bunch of tie searching a solution that doesn't existed...
Thanks guys!

[HELP] Soft brick ZL C6506.

Hi All,
If you have some experiences with some situation like this, pls give some advices.
I have my Zl, upgraded to 5.1.1 (10.7.A.0.222) , it work fine for some week, then usually shutdown suddenly, 5.1.1 upgraded from 5.0.2 with rooted, installed xposed and some modules (but not unlocked bootloader) .
After some random hanging and rebooting, i try to flash brand-new from ftf file .
and BTW, i unlocked bootloader, after flash new ftf, system cannot boot up, only show up the Sony logo, then down, after that fastboot and flash older ftf ones normally , event i try to relock bootloader.
while unlocked bootloader, i try to install CM ROM, flash boot.img one but still not up.
While connect the charger, logo sony blink for every 10s (estimation) .
I consider the TA partition affected to booting processs. (i have backuped TA but still don't know how to restore via fastboot/flashtool)
Thank and appricated for reading till this point.
Hope you can give me and someone who encounter this situation some wise advices , i will report each try
This is more clear explanation (just read this ):
My case:
1./ first version is 4.4.2, then i try to flash to 5.02 via flashtool (as i remembered i flash ftf version for Generic US)
2./ Then root/install xpose .... and update to OTA (failed), success with updating via Sony Companion, after that, backup TA.
3./ using normally for some weeks, then occur suddenly hang, reboot, lose signal, i commit to flash a brandnew one
4./ After that i unlockbootloader via sony site, Flash 5.1.1 (10.7.A.222 but customized os)
5./ Try some solutions:
5.1/ (unlocked bootloader)Try to flash some other custom kernel (ex: CM12 kernel, one in this dev subforum) but the symptom as case 5.2 below
5.2 try to relockbootloader install the 5.1.1 Generic US/Customized US still doesn't boot up,
- Unplug charger, press and hold power butter, red light blink for 3 times (although connected to charger all night)
- Connect to charger, not show up the charging progress bar, just blink Sony - Xperia around every 10 s
Still consider to battery issue , hope to hear any experienced/wise advises

Thank @web.a
Will try and report later, do i need relockbootloader /restore TA partition or not.
Brs.
My Bootloader is unlocked and it works. I think it works with both...
TA Partition, what's that?
Emma bring you back the original Sony stock Rom without root. Bootloader will be untouched. Have fun...

@ web.a : sad to say, Emma Sony Flash tool doesn't support Xperia ZL C6506 (just C6503)

more info:

Now my ZL still bootloop like this (when connected to charger)
Did you try it. Emma will tell you if your Phone was not supported .Well If not, I was not able to help you. Sorry ?

I really need your help guys. My ZL got updated yesterday, and then a random reboot. After trying to repair it, it keeps getting into Flashmode direcly.
It does not boot into system, but flashmode. Tried to repair again with PCC, no luck. I don´t know booting process to figure out and get out of bootloop. I can access fastboot, flashmode, TWRP, with UB. I flashed ROM a couple times via TWRP, but no luck again.
I think something is messed up with partitions or something.
HELP.

Yes. Phone boots into system now, but only when plugged in charger. If I unplug it, it will shut down.

maybe hw problem battery or battery connector
same story here. Worked well for week after upgrading to 5.1.1. tried everything. Nothing has helped: updated recovery, flashed the ROM, did repair through PC companion. it turns down after Sony logo display.

You mean you cannot boot up, stil flash the logo while connected to charger right?
