Can someone please post a system partition dump? Using patches does not help me making a custom ROM or even a port for the old Moto G 1st gen.

can i do that without root? if thats the case please tell me how and i'll do that

I have brand new one (Consumer Cellular version)
It has 4.4.4 - haven't changed anything on it yet - no root, no roms.
Can I apply this directly? Or is root prerequisite?

Keep in mind, this method is not confirmed working if you're running android 2.3.x [ Gingerbread ]. So do not use this if you're running it. Also dual sim ones aren't supported from what I see it tempers with the phone, I haven't tested it but many have reported it doesn't work on dual sims.
Lets get started shall we? Firstly I have gathered up some useful resources that will help you get started. Make sure you read this guide first, from top to bottom. Then continue. As you must have a clear understanding on what you are going to attempt. If you have any queries don't hesitate to ask on the thread itself.

I have performed these exact steps and have successfully unlocked my bootloader and rooted the phone. So if you're worried. Don't be. After attempting this I haven't noticed any issues either.
Okay, first of all you will need to download Unlockbootloader ---> View attachment unlockbootloader.zip
Once you have downloaded the said .zip extract the .exe file inside the .zip to your desktop.
Continue by turning on USB debugging on your G300. if its already switched on then skip the part below..
Go into Settings>Developer Options and tick the USB Debugging option.
Once its switched on, plug your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
So far you've downloaded Unlockbootloader, have switched USB debugging on, and your phone is connected to your PC.
Now run the .exe file you have just extracted. Click "Root" and let it do everything, it will prompt up with a few warnings saying don't use your keyboard because CMD is running.
Once the setup finishes, your phone should be rooted.
Head into the app drawer, and if you see "SuperUser" you're now officially rooted.
Reboot your phone to finalize the rooting and exploits.
Ok, now for the bootloader.
Once your phone is on, and connected again to the PC with debugging mode on, run the .exe file again and this time click "Unlock BootLoader".
Wait for it to do its job, once done reboot again and you now have a Stock Rooted and Bootloader unlocked ICS phone.

Hi, assuming you have installed the g300 adb drivers, once the device is hanging on the boot logo and you connect the usb cable. You need to wait for windows to fully the load the adb driver before you use the unlockbootloader.exe program.

What you have to do is,turn on debug, then power off device fully by pulling off battery then putting it back in, now you must power on by golding the volume down button and power button at the same time, this should get it to be stuck on the huawei logo screen, now plug in your USB cable and wait for you PC to detect the phone and it should automatically install the devices driver's, one its done the now open the folder and run .BAT files, If you are experiencing problems here's a link for another guide : View

After the "Unlock BootLoader", my phone doesn't boot. When the logo appears it stars to reboot again and never goes beyond that.
Any ideas ? Have I killed it ?

Hello krishneelg3,
I have tried a method on http://huaweig300.com but I'm stuck with the problem.
Installing USB drivers/Root/Backup IMEI went OK. Then by mistake I skipped the Step on page 5. Check Baseband and kept continued by Bootloader & ClockworkMod all went OK until the step 10. On page 6. After executing BootloaderG300.exe the phone rebooting cyclically, My operator screen appear for a approximately one second and the phone restarts again. How to resolve the problem and is there any hope to return to official ROM?
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

What was ur baseband and were u running gingerbread?
If u r on official ics then this guide is for u, if not notify me.
PS : If you are running Gb I refer you to look into this guide, as long as your phone can boot into bootloader your fine, and I'm sure it will boot into Bloader mode : http://www.modaco.com/topic/353386-how-to-root-your-huawei-ascend-g300-for-windows-mac-and-linux/
Thanks krishneelg3,
my baseband is 109808, and I'm running GB.
The problem is that I don't know if I'm in a Bootloader mode when I see a pink screen?
When I press VOLUME DOWN + POWER it starts same as when I press POWER, first logoo (in my case picture of my operator) it lasts for about few seconds, then phone reboots and start doing it cyclically.
The other thing is that, when I press VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP + POWER, it then turns into a pink screen.
In that state (pink screen), when I plug in my phone to my PC, PC recognize my phone without reading sd card or internall memory.
So what should I do?
Thanks man, really appreciate it!
Guys,
I solved the problem.
I've just followed the instructions in step 5. on the site http://huaweig300.com and put a new update.app (1 KB) and copy it to the dload. After that I've used main dload (ICS folder, aprox abot 600 MB) and everything updated and installed successfully.
Thanks.
p.s. if anyone has or had the same problem, do not hesitate to ask.
hi all
sorry to hijack the thread
I have just got my son an ascend 300 which is locked to vodafone
its on android 2.3.6
the build number is
u881v100r001c02b892
i have a download of HDU88151079V100R001C00B934 which is the ICS but i dont think that will work for my build
ideally i want ICS but dont mind too much waiting.
but i do want to be able to get of all the bloatware.
I guess i need to root to do this.
the link to the modaco site is down and it seems this is for those lucky enough to be on ICS
would i be better off upgrading to ICS then following the method above or would i be better finding a method to root under gb (If so where)
many thanks

OK get the official pics update b927* must be that build.
After its done downloading, extract its contents to your memorycard of the phone.
Make sure the update.app is in the root of SD card .
Then power off phone, remove battery re apply battery and hold the three buttons "volume up, volume down and the power button" until a screen pops up it will then install the stock ics once its done it'll reboot twice.
If only one it doesnt matter.
Setup the phone. Now to install b934 or newer versions use cwm for dazzozos repacks or the update force method. But I advice u to look for help on modaco. Thanks.
Modaco name : krishang3

Thanks for that by b927* you are referring to a different version of HDU88151079V100R001C00B934 ?
where would i be able to get this from?
so this would give me the stock ics
what is the advantage of then installing HDU88151079V100R001C00B934 ?
Thanks

Your on gingerbread so your baseband Is 109808 and if u flash any b934+ stock using the combinations say goodbye to your phone. I did that to my brothers and it bricked.
So to get to ice you must install b927 version of ics then your baseband will change to the new one *2030* now you can flash any b934+ stocks because you now have the new baseband.
Go to modaco and enter the G300 forums and look at the first dew pages all the info and guides you need. Procedure is simple.

[ROOT] Huawei Ascend Y300 rooting without bootloader unlock code

The bootloader stays locked, you can't install any custom recovery or ROM after rooting this way. To install a custom recovery or ROM you have to unlock the bootloader.
So I've found this thread in an Italian forum, which describes a rooting method that doesn't require a bootloader unlock code from Huawei!
This pack containes an Italian guide and everything you need for the procedure.
If you don't speak Italian, then follow my instructions.
0. Make sure fast boot is turned off on your phone
1. Extract the downloaded .rar file to anywhere you want.
2. Copy the "dload" folder to the root of you SD card.
3. Turn off your phone, then turn it on while holding down (Volume UP) + (Volume DOWN).
If the firmware update is finished you will get a green tick. The phone will reboot, be patient.
If you get a pink screen, then put the "dload" folder into the Internal memory's root to solve the problem.
4. Install unlockroot3.exe, then open it after the installation is finished. (Get a newer version of Unlock Root from unlockroot.com)
5. Enable USB Debugging on your phone at Settings --> Developer settings, then plug the phone to your PC.
6. The PC will recognize a CD drive. Install Handset WinDriver.exe from /drivers/adb_driver/.
7. Click the big, green "ROOT" button. When it asks, decide if you want "Power saver" to be installed to your device or not.
8. After the process is finished, it will ask if you want to reboot. Click Yes.
9. After reboot you should see Superuser installed to your phone.
10. If you get errors (camera, flash not working) or the screen looks like it's been washed out with bleach,
Then run install-windows.bat from the folder named "Y300-boot-B176". This should solve the errors.
This method is tested with the following firmware versions:
B164, B166, B169, B170, B171, B172, B173, B174, B175, B176, B178, B181,
B184, B186, B188, B189, B190, B192, B194, B195, B196, B197, B199

Hi, it works. there's a little issue though..after rooting and after running the "install-windows.bat" to fix the camera, the phone didn't recognize the sim card. the trick is to restart the device and it's good to go.
So this is verified working with B166. Thanks for the guide. :good:

Flashing to global stable rom Mi Mix 2 with locked bootloader

There are many threads with users with the same problem: you can`t flash in recovery because of you locked bootloader, EDL is not working anymore, and the English PC suite is too old. So I downloaded the chinese version of PC Suite:
http://bigota.d.miui.com/MiFlash/MiInst.exe
And the full OTA ROM of global-Stable http://en.miui.com/download-334.html
Save it on your pc to access for later.
Boot your Mi Mix 2 in recovery:
Press and hold Power and Volume+, until Mi logo appears, release the buttons and a picture of a phone with cable appears.
Then connect it to the computer, en WITH THE SHIFT KEY PRESSED!, click to this:
Screenshot 1: http://imgur.com/riGFBtd
Browse to the rom file you downloaded, en click on the button (I think it is Flash, but I cannot read chinese)
Then it wil flash! It will take about 45 minutes:
Screenshot 2: http://imgur.com/GsBUy2h
Then is should boot to global stable.
Screenshot 3: http://imgur.com/sG4bENR
Update:1
Use an usb2 port, and not an usb3 if your flashing fails.
Update 2
Remember after flashing finished enter recovery mode and wipe data otherwise you will get Mi logo loop screen.
I tried this and now I have a brick. Stuck on the MI screen. Any ideas? Anyone know how to recover from this state? BL is locked. Thanks!

Yes that's correct and without unlocking bootloader, only one things not ok with this method ,after flashing global you can choose only one region China not all countries present in region list. which is ok nothing depends on this region selection, but if you want all regions its good to unlock bootloader and flash with the guide using fastboot method.

When you select correct rom, and popup appearing you should see no red but blue Chinese text (see attached screen) above and 3 other black texts below hit the upper one and process will go,
if you see red text it means the rom you selected can't be flashed on your device. usualy latest 8.5.1.0 can be flashed and latest 8.5.7.0 Chinese, other roms giving red error row. which says you need to unlock your bootloader.
I seem to be having issues on the very last step. I global rom package is verified (i see some green text) and it allows me to flash it. BUT once i press the button it immediately takes me to the screen in the link. I used the image option on the google translate app and it says something to the effect of "brush failed, please try again"'
The top button is retry, the lower one is cancel. The weird thing is, the screen on the phone changes from the recovery screen showing a phone being plugged in to one with a small loading bar and the words "Updating MIUI. dont reboot the device". That only goes away when i hit the retry button.
I could have settled for the global rom instead of flashing to the eu one once my bootloader is unlocked (30 hours to go) but if i cant get your help then eu ROM may be my only option.
EDIT:
Disregard, despite saying the flash failed i left it alone for half an hour and came back and it turned out it had flashed anyway

Hi @thezenith
im having exactly the same problem, but the 0% doesn't go away.
I have a Chinese error red text adb.exe below the progression bar...
Can you help me? Thank you
I have the same issue. I'm currently stuck in a bootloop since the dev ROM crashes after I select the china region. I want to flash the global stable but get the previous errors

I am in the same boat. No idea what the adb error is.
I ended up taking the back cover off and doing a test point method to flash the global rom with a locked bootloader from the china ROM. Works fine now but didn't really enjoy it

Trying my best to get out of having to do that. I posted on the miui forums looking for an expedited unlock, as I was able to register the phone on my account before it all went tits up.
I have exact same problem with 0%.
i want to flash from china dev rom to china stable rom. any advice?
I'm trying this method and got as far as flashing screen with 0%, red writting underneath in chinese. Not sure if it's working or not, any tips please.
Quick question
how to check which Rom I am running (global or Chinese, dev or not)
This post is a complete life saver

S7 SM-G930F Black Screen Of Death after installing TWRP and a custom ROM.

I think I messed up...
I have this old samsung s7 which has some sort of firmwre problem cause all I could do is boot into download mode. There I flashed TWRP and rebooted into the custom recovery and sideloaded crdroid 7.4. All was well but when I rebooted I got the crdroid logo flashing but then it froze and after a couple of minutes the screen turned black and is unresponsive. I tried all button combinations but to no avail.
The battery was at 55% after rebooting so it cant be that. Could it be that the black screen is because the bootloader wasn't unlocked, if so then how could I install TWRP?
Can anybody help me?

Could you find the original firmware for that model, for example here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/, or to use Frija.

You have a hardware problem. Might be a charging port or a motherboard., or battery But to be sure, you have to open the phone and do some measurements.
The phone had no problem getting into download mode, flashing TWRP, flashing a custom ROM and rebooting. Only after booting crdroid all of a sudden the crdroid logo stopped moving, the screen froze and minutes later the screen turned black. I doubt it is a hardware issue unless flashing a custom ROM can do that.
Try charging the phone overnight. make sure the usb cable is working properly. then try flash original rom with odin. i guese you have to get it into download mode. by pressing the 3 hard buttons first.
Did you obtain crDroid from their official site, sourceforge or from somewhere else? Also how long did you hold down Power+Home+Vol down? Try for at least ten seconds.
Translation: If you can enter download mode, just download odin, and install the original firmware. My cell phone did this and I solved it like this. If not, perhaps the solution is to do research beforehand because it is probably no longer useful. Just changing the plate or battery.

After a day and multiple tries to get into download mode it somehow got there again. I reinstalled a custom ROM and the exact same happened, the phone froze during first boot and dindt respond to anything anymore like before. Now I knew the phone wasnt bricked and after some DDGing I found that the probable culprit was a defective logic board.
I bought a working but completely shattered s7 for cheap and swapped the logic board.and my s7 is all set to be on my side for the years to come.
Thanks y'all.
