Battery case for the Z3 Compact? - Xperia Z3 Compact Accessories

I very much want to increase the battery of my Z3 Compact as much as possible, I don't care if I double its size in the process
Although the battery time is tolerable, I think a nice 4000mAh battery or two would work great with the energy saving algorithms of the Z3.
Does anyone know if there is any cases available that let me do that yet? If not , would it be possible to adapt another readily available case for my personal use?

I've not seen any power cases for the Z3c and I doubt any will be released considering the niche status of the phone. Best option is probably a portable USB power pack.

Same here. I always have some juice in my backpack in form of a usb power pack. Charges pretty quick and also usable as a ac charger. For outdoors there are solarchargers. Much more comfortable as a powercase.

Is there a picture of the Mugen? It's rather strange to sell a product without a picture of it.

I also think it is a little strange that there is no pictures of it. There is pictures of the Z3 power case though. If that is in any way an indication of how the Z3C case will look I think is a bad decision not to make the case cover more of the phone for protection purposes. The phone will end up being bulky anyway with the battery case on, so why not extend the battery case so it offers proper protection against the phone being dropped?

Me neither, i have not seen any for the z3c, however there is one made by Brando for the z1c, it's called power jacket, here is the link:
http://shop.brando.com/power-jacket-for-sony-xperia-z1-compact-z1f-3200mah_p10993c1599d003.html
Don't know if it will fit the z3c, i will do some research to know if it fits or not, my main concern is the cut for the camera and flash, because both share almost identical dimensions

It looks like the Mugen one does not have any addon/swappable parts to fit Z1C/Z3C. To me, this would suggest that the above brando case would fit Z3C too. And that would suggest that the cheap chinese Z1C battery cases would also fit.
Have you done any research?
(sorry could not quote your link because of the new user restriction)

Twice the thickness for twice the battery life. Definitely mixed feelings with this one.

I'm currently shopping for a new smartphone, and the availability of a battery case is a deciding factor for me. Your post is the only thing I could find on the internet about the Mugen Z3 compact battery case, so I was wondering if I could ask a few things to help me decide.
Does the case fit on snugly? Does it clasp on properly or does it fall off? It charges using the magnetic terminals on the middle of the phone's side, and not the micro USB port, correct? Presumably the flaps that cover the microusb don't get in the way of the case?
Has the actual performance of the backup battery been up to scratch?
Thanks for your feedback about the thickness but I don't really mind about that as I'd be using the battery case for travelling and situations like that.
Some extra photos from different angles would be very much appreciated. Feel free to email me at mark a h 9999 at gmail if that's easier for you than replying here. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Here is a review by one of the users, i hope it will be helpful for You:
Better than the one I had for my z2. Very precise fit with no movement in the battery case. I view this as a clip on extra battery rather than a protective case.
When I need charging I don't want to be connected to a battery pack with a cord...been there, press and hold on switch means no accidental turning off.
I use my z3 for shallow underwater photos and couldn't have a phone with removable battery and leaking battery doors. Double cost of other brand but you get what you pay for!
You can read more reviews and see pics here: http://mugen.co/mugen-power-3700mah-battery-case-for-sony-xperia-z3.html

Sorry, I don't have the case anymore. I decided to get a Xiaomi power bank and sold the case for 2/3 the price since I wanted to use Devilcase. The Mugen was worth the money. All 3200mAh are there. The feel is pretty good as well with a rubbery matte finish and heavier overall weight that's definitely gonna prevent you from dropping the phone anytime soon.

The display. For me this number flirts around 50%. That's a boat load of usage compared to everything else!
I guess Motorola didn't choose an energy efficient panel.

I was rather amazed to hear that the screen sucks so much battery! Thought a 3.1 low-res screen would rather give a better battery life.
May be a custom ROM with some tweaks can take care of this.
I'm going to leave brightness on about 40% for the day and see what happens. I normally have on auto brightness, and my usage does show the display using about 50% of the juice.
Yeah with respect to the display I don't think an HTC phone would be that high... Odd choice moto!

how much thickness does the extended battery add? it's hard to tell from the picture, but it still looks like the there is the raised portion at the top of the device for the camera
Not much... I hardly even notice its there. The new battery backing even keeps a slight curve as the original slimmer one did.
I'm really happy this is an original Motorola product and the battery cover / door looks just like the thin one with the silver swirls and all.

cool. might have to pick one up from my local store.
Hi to everyone,
is there any lucky owner of Motorola Extended battery who can tell me how thick is phone with extended door? I ask one seller and he tell me Droid Pro with this original extended battery is about 1/2" thicker than with standard 1420 mah battery. But after I have read this thread I think it must be nosense. But there is no exact infor and no photo anywhere. Thanks a lot!
I'm really surprised to read about everyone having battery problems. I wouldn't describe myself a heavy user, but I do make several calls, send and receive a boatload of texts, have widgets that require data pulls set for every 30 minutes, do a small amount of internet browsing, and use the mp3 player for an of hour or so while working out and I have had nothing but amazing battery life. Being a BB convert a couple of devices ago, I can say with certainty that this, being my 3rd Android phone, has the best battery life so far. I usually unplug around 6am and by 11pm, I'm still at about 60-70%. No android device that I know of can touch the battery life of a BB, but this one has been very good so far.
It adds more weight than thickness imo. The battery is probably 1/8" thicker and the soor the same. Probably adds 1/4" more thickness overall, but there is a great weight different to me. Seem to hold a good charge though. Worth the $34 to me.
im really interested in this

Has anyone tried to fit the otterbox in w extended battery? May try to hack up the case so it will fit when i get it
I was able to cut out the back on the standard cover for the extended battery to stick out, and the otterbox seems to fit fine. If you don't want to cut your back cover, you can just leave the back off since the otterbox protects it, though I still like the idea of having an internal cover. I may go back and put some sort of rubber seal around the battery opening just in case. Will post pics later

Weight and size.

as netizenmt mentioned, weight and size are factors to consider. a buddy of mine has the extended batteries and they're thick. if you have a leather case it'll be quite a challenge to close it...let alone use the case snaps to clamp on the sides of the phone. given that the play is slightly thicker already, the thick batts really make it bigger. just be careful if you do order the batts. i read somewhere in the forum about them being sold through ebay...only to find out that some aren't "compatible". can't remember if that meant function-wise.

If the case requires the PLAY's original dimensions, then no. The MUGEN battery protrudes further than the stock battery
the MUGEN battery is bigger and heavier, but you would have to really work your phone to get through it in a day, ive left my phone running castlevania sotn at 180fps for about 8+ hours with a 1.5ghz oc and i still had power to spare..
essentially the great thing about these batteries is that battery life doesnt become a concern anymore, i get about 3 days battery life with standard use, if i turned off data, god knows how much i would get.
iphone users jaws drop when i tell them i get 3 days battery, i love it.

Yeah but you carry a behemoth around with you
i dont think about the weight, in fact i usually still have trouble feeling it vibrate and i have to touch my pocket every now and then to make sure i still have it.
ive had a comment off a teenage girl before who seemed rather offended at the prospect of trading size for battery life.. but she probably also doesnt understand why i want a gamepad.. noone else, or me cares.
the part i care about is being able to use my phone, for anything, whenever i want and never having battery be a factor. its completely worry free. my ultimate device in my pocket that can always be relied upon. i quite like the feel of the gamepad with the thicker back cover, and i honestly dont think the replacement cover is anywhere near as visually offensive as many slab phone back covers which jut out in crazy places, im 100% happy with it.
you have already decided to sacrifice some form for having a gamepad, why not sacrifice a bit more form to be able to use it to its fullest extent?

Battery Case recommendations

Hey everyone. I have seen countless threads for the Nexus 5 Battery cases.
Just wondering if anyone has tried this:
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/251631021161?nav=SEARCH
Want to know if its worth it? Also, i have heard good things about the i-Blasin battery case and ZeroLemon ones.
Any feedback on a really good battety case would be appreciated
I have the Zerolemon, it arrived today. I can't comment on battery life yet but I'm very pleased with the case itself. It is particularly bulky but I prefer this to the bare phone, which i find far too slim. The extra size hasn't impeded on "thumb-reachability", I can still use it entirely one handed - in fact it sits far better in my hand as it actually has some weight to it and enough device to grip properly.
The built in screen protector does its job although I'll likely replace it with an adhesive glass one in the future, it's a bit naff. Buttons all work well, as does the camera flash - doesn't seem to impede image quality when it's used.
The belt clip I'll never use, and it's useless as a kickstand as the clip itself holds it at terrible angles. Could be repurposed as a car mount though without much trouble.

On Amazon. This is the exact product link I bought, but the spec and picture have now changed (my case is black, plus I have the battery) It was $39.99 before shipping.

If it helps at all, the LG G2 battery they do should fit fine, albeit you'd need to buy the case separately.

I've ordered the exact external battery case as shown.. Charging full for the 1st time now.. Looking good so far. No complains except the slow charging..
zerolemon urgent help needed!
I just bought a zerolemon extended battery for my nexus 5, but i dont know how to use it beside that ive charged it gor 12 hrs for initial use and it got over in just one day!
Maybe i didnt use it efficiently or any other issue,
If anyone has it please advice me how to use it effeciently!
Thanks!
Maybe users with external battery cases can share how they use their battery cases..
Is the zerolemon customber service good or they don't answer?
Is this any good? -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/3800mA-Exte...18?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item566ddadaa2
Price is good and installation seems easy.
Tommy this thing seems good but shouldn't a battery of 3800 mAh give your nexus a charge more than once? As nexus built in battery is 2300 mAh?
I am using zerolemon extended battery of 3500 mAh but it doesn't give me one complete charge though, but still its handy while you are travelling..
But the zerolemon is very bulky with 100% protection, this thing isn't bulky but as they claim its optimal protection, so my opinion is you given it a try, its worth it BUT @ your own risk
So can anyone give any reviews on the zero lemon case? Worth the money or what?

I don't recommend it for continuous use, until and unless you are someone who constantly is in journeys. The battery gives one n a half extra charges to your nexus 5..
I would rather call it an external charger, or a power bank, rather than external battery for nexus 5..
Hopefully I answered your query, there shall be any other query? Feel free to ask..

I don't recommend it because I've used it, the charging input from the zero lemon to your nexus is weak, it will take 3 hrs to complete, and constant usage at the time of charging heats up not only your device but also the zero lemon battery...
I don't say its bad, but I wasn't satisfied with it, and yes comparatively zero lemon is the best... But ultimately there's no solution to this nexus battery problem..
U can still go for it.. But don't use zerolemon too much, except at the time of necessities..
Anything else?
I carry a vinsic 20000 MA battery and 2metre lead in my backpack. Just pull out as much lead as needed to reach my pocket. Soon charges with 2.1amps and fast charge. Better than a case imo. I use bluetooth adapter for music and calls so the phone stays in the pocket and I can use my Sennheiser cans with no lead.

Battery Case - Too good to be true?

I pre-ordered a battery case on Amazon, but it just seems too good to be true. I cannot see how they can fit a battery that size into that case for that price.
https://www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-External-Portable-Protective-Charging/dp/B06Y63HPCL
5200mAh
$26.99
Very slim and slick looking
Any thoughts? Should I cancel the pre-order or is Amazon reliable when in helping to avoid fraud?
I just saw this, it's not that expensive, please post IF you get it with pictures as to how thick, hand feel, and so on. I'd be very interested in it if it's not going to make my device look like a brick from the 90s.
There's about 5 pages of questions now and there's a LOT of discrepancy between what the "description" states and what the answers from the seller state:
Description: has a kickstand
Seller answer: has not kickstand
Seller keeps saying you can wirelessly charge with this case in the questions, I WANT to know how that will work. I may order this JUST to see if any of the hype is true
It looks monstrously big for the s8 plus
Update: They increased the price from $26.99 to $39.99. That sounds more realistic now. Also the picture is different and it looks a bit more clunky than the original images. Once I get it I will post pictures of it and give a review.
No way that's 5500 is such a slim case, this case is 5500mah look at that fatty https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZXYRCKM/ref=psdc_7073960011_t1_B06Y63HPCL

It may not be the slickest case but if it does add 5000mAh then it can be a backup plan for a weekend outdoors. There are times when having a battrey pack makes it much more clunky than a battery case, no matter how bigger it makes the phone.

So, let's see what could possibly go wrong:
Third-party company that no one has ever heard of making a battery case that doesn't even agree with its own pictures of the product/product description
Will it overheat? No, why would you think that?
Will it make your phone burst into flames? Why would that be an issue?
Will it actually work as stated? Sure, so many of the cheap knockoff battery cases work just great.
Please do post how this works out for you. Also, make sure you have a spare device from which to call 911 (or 999 depending on your location)
Best power case would be zerolemon when it comes out
Just ordered this one from Amazon. It's in stock and I will get it monday and let you know how it is.

I guess there's one manufacturer that makes all of these cheap power cases for any brand. The price is great but I wouldn't risk an S8+ for a 50$ price difference. And everything above 3000 mAh will add too much bulk. Don't bother and think that it won't look like a brick. I was prepared to order the Mophie but got insulted by their bad marketing moves. Articles all over the web about the release of the legendarry Juice Pack, and all I got was a coming soon warning! No Thanks. As djhulk2 said I would go with the ZeroLemon or the I-blades. Remember these are brands, plus the I-blades adds extra memory, a platform for other modules and Military Grade Certificate.

There are numerous choices out there (just from a google search using the terms S8+ battery cases):
https://powerpluscases.com/collecti...-galaxy-s8-plus-battery-extender-case-5500mah

https://www.amazon.com/ICONIC-Portable-External-Protective-Charging/dp/B06ZZB2QYC (has a code of 2RADT4V8 for $10 off making the price about $30, know NOTHING about this battery, BGR is hyping it)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZB2QYC/ (another case with a code HC7VJ26M for more of a discount, again another site is promoting this)
https://www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-External-Portable-Protective-Kickstand/dp/B06Y63HPCL/ref=sr_1_5 (no idea about this)
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...+battery+case&rh=i:aps,k:s8+plus+battery+case (a generic search for s8 Plus battery case on amazon)
And that was about 10 minutes worth of looking. There are PLENTY of options out there, just got to be willing to look.

ZeroLemon 8500mah case review

First, I did receive a review sample from ZeroLemon.
Pro: massive amount of battery
Worked first time. Living up to name ZeroLemon.
Case itself is grippy and comfortable
Con: It's LARGE, expect that.
It's not fast charge capable.
If you're looking for a slim solution, this is NOT your choice, if you're looking for massive amounts of additional power on the go without having to carry a cable and external battery, then this IS your solution.
As I'm sure everyone will mention, it's LARGE. Until battery tech gets smaller, you gotta cram that 8500mah battery somewhere. It's pretty hefty as well. If you wanted with this battery pack, you could outlast everyone around you in a marathon Pokemon Go session, long flights of movies won't be a problem. It's not going to provide any screen protection if dropped, but it might give you some arm workouts as you use the phone.
It's brainless to use. Plug your S8+ into the battery, slip it into the case. They provide a headphone extension cable if your headphones do not fit in the built in hole. Well packaged, instruction booklet was adequate, tho you won't need it. Press the button once and it gives a battery readout on the back of the case, press it 3 seconds, starts charging. All the button passthru's worked fine and aligned up. You are still "capable" of using the fingerprint reader, expect a bit more "reach" to get there. The case itself doesn't block the camera at all. No ghosting of the case in your photos.
If I were designing this, I would have added a flipout kickstand so you could just sit and watch movies without having to hold the bulk.
I want to purchase one of ZeroLemon 8500 mah battery packs but I can't seem to find a belt case/pouch that's compatible. This is my only drawback. I have always used ZeroLemon's in the past and am satisfied with the performance of their batteries.

Thanks @MrWicked1...I just went to the website and left contact/feedback with the dimensions. Hope they can help.
UPDATE: They immediately responded to my contact email and directed me to an area where you chose by dimensions. I'll let everyone know if it fits.

Yeah no problem they make really good leather cases I've still got a couple from my note 4 that look like they did when they were new.

I ordered the largest case Turtleback Leather had and it still is a little too snug. But, I gave it to my son for his Note 4, so all was not lost. But I notice they make a case for the S8 and S8+ for you friends that are interested.
I wish I could have gotten one
