Hi Guys, here is my full user unboxing and review of the iNew V3 Plus, what do you think about this new version?
I still find the design really nice. It actually looks 1:1 with the first iNew V3, but has upgraded hardware.
The original iNew V3 was a big hit when it was released because of the design and the price was excellent for the specs. Now there is a new, better and faster version out called iNew V3 Plus, with the same nice design. Notice the 2GB RAM now! But disappointing is that they removed NFC, no 4G and the small battery is still the same.
Here the iNew V3 Plus (aka. V3A) specifications:
- MT6592M 1.4 GHZ Octa-Core / Mali-450MP
- 2GB ram / 16 GB rom
- Android OS 4.4.2 version
- 5.0" HD screen 1280x720 pixels (294 PPI)
- Notifications LED (Seems to support more colors)
- 143 x 71 x 6.5 mm
- 13.0 MP back camera Auto Focus, 5 MP front camera
- Gesture Capture for the front camera (do a V with your hand to start a countdown)
- 2 x 1830 mAh lithium battery
- 3G, WIFI 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA
- Dual Mic / Support for OTG / No NFC support
- WCDMA 850/2100MHz and GSM 850/900/1800/1900

It's time to revive this thread, I think.
I have some information you might find interesting, s7yler. Near Field Communication, as I'm sure you know, was a removed from the V3+, while the original V3 had it. I've been taking a good hard look at the board and chassis between the two models, and see absolutely no reason why NFC could not be reimplemented. All of the hardware for it is onboard, the contacts for the NFC sticker still exist, although the contact standoffs on the original V3 chassis are not, which isn't really the end of the world, it just means we need to find a way to make the NFC sticker connect to the board through some other means, maybe wires or something dirty will work for now.
You can get the sticker here. I bought one myself.
Here are some pictures of what I'm talking about:
This is the V3+. notice the contacts near the camera are indented, flush with the board:
And the original V3, notice that the contacts are now flush with the rest of the chassis:

But there is also no NFC option in the ROM for the Plus version. Then someone would need to implement the NFC feature also to the ROM for the V3 Plus.

Well it's certainly a damn good thing this is xda developers, isn't it?
I'm waiting for all of the parts to arrive, but in the meantime, I need to find a ROM for the original iNew V3. I'm about 90% sure that the Wi-Fi Direct hardware is the same between these phones, since everything else is, except for the ram and cpu, so porting the NFC libraries, or even simply adding the option for it in the V3+ ROM is probably all that needs to be done. It's possible that the V3+ firmware is identical to the original, save for libraries for the MTK6592, so for all we know, NFC options could simply be commented out.
I'll do some tinkering and let you know.

hello, I receive the inew v3 + , there is there a way to put the processor 1.7 ghz (as mtk 6592 standard) with a kernel or other manipulation?
If you have feedback on this phone?
Thank you in advance

Why would you want to clock it at 1.7Ghz? doesn't it run smooth? overclocking may just drain the battery faster and maybe overheat it. The 300Mhz you get more, is not worth it I would say. Also I don't think it is possible to clock the MT6592M to 1.7Ghz, never heard about such a thing.

I agree that this can pose problems but the 6592 original MTK is a 1.7GHz , so I figured get this frequency was not completely unreasonable ... By cons for gaming the GPU is the same so games level I should not feel difference compared to mtk 6592 (I had a W200s thl with MTK6592 1.7GHz ) ?
What bothers m it's just AnTuTu scores I've seen on the net that are 20,000 instead of 28,000 to 30,000 on a classic 6592 mtk here is my fear .... that's why I come to more ...
thank you

miui it is available on the new version of inew v3 ?
In addition the update (V8) brings it to interresting improvements ?

edit: amd about accuracy, can one use it in a car?

Sure it is. There're two versions of iRoot, a PC (Windows) version and apk version
Is there an easier way to unlock bootloader
Sent from my MP-G7 using XDA Free mobile app
I used the iRoot for Windows app successfully after trying the kingroot apk and the iroot apk.
The install triggered a malware alert and the install was initially blocked. I took a chance and turned off HIPS to get it rooted.
I uninstalled iRoot after rooting and a quick scan revealed no malware infections. :good:
My MPIE G7 unbootable. I need the original ROM and preloader

The long awaited Elephone P3000 is now around the corner. Below here you can read the announcement from Elephone. I may get this and post a Unboxing and Review later when I got it. What do you think about it?
•The JDI screen displays sharp and high quality pictures. Meanwhile, power consumption of the screen decreased. There is still power left after heavy use for one day, that has solved the power consumption problem that exists on Android 4.4.2 phones. The camera performs outstanding, and there are lots of options in the menu to fit the different shooting environment. The accuracy of the color reduction reaches 90%. It performs excellent in low light condition.
•Furthermore, the combination of MTK 6592 and 6290 works great for 4G LTE. MTK 6592 is a mature developed Soc that has stable performance regarding running complex functions such as games and multi tasks.
Elephone released the Elephone P3000 in two versions. The P3000 and the P3000S. The Elephone P3000 is the lesser equipped one of the two. The Elephone P3000 comes with a Mediatek MT6582 1.3GHz Quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM memory. The Elephone P3000S comes with a faster Mediatek MT6592 1.7GHz Octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. Both of the phones have a 720p OGS IPS screen that promises good viewing angles and color reproduction.
Main Features:
Elephone P3000s 5.0 Inch
RAM: 2GB / ROM: 16GB
Android 4.4 KitKat
MTK6592 Octa Core, 1.7GHz / Mali-450MP
Radio/Modem: MT6290
Support micro SD (T-Flash) 128G
NFC Built-in
SIM+micro SIM card, dual standby
Support Gravity/Light/Proximity Sensing System
FM/MP3/MP4/Bluetooth/GPS Function Supported
Note: This phone will only work with GSM+WCDMA+FDD-LTE
Networks: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz
Cons/Minus:
The camera flash is not 100% synchronized with the shutter.
Compass sensor gives erratic output
What should I say....
A MTK6592 quad core combined with a 3150 mAh battery, 4G network , 2GB RAM 16GB ROM, and pretty almost full frequency
Guess that should last forever ...
It seems to be a very good device.....
I've pre ordered, it looks a good phone
Interesting ! I may (pre)order it for a friend.

Good Phone.

What malfunctions? everything works fine on the phone - you should know if you check the review. Only I must say that the Fingerprint scanner is just a gimmick for me. I don't really use it. And if your fingers are a little sweaty you sometimes have to do it twice before it can scan the finger correct, but it's not a big deal. Things like, WiFi, reception, speed, RAM, GPS, display, 3D games etc. works perfect for me on this device.

I am cautious to buy this device because some elephone devices in the past appeared problems. It's a very low cost devise for these specifications so I am afraid of low manufacture quality.
How would you characterize the external material and the quality of the device?
Do you advise me to risk and buy it?

Well, I already told my opinion in my video review. If you should buy it or not is up to yourself. Everything works fine for me on this phone. Previous Elephone models had problems with the battery draining too fast, or that you had to tap 2 times sometimes before it would react, on the P3000S the touchscreen seems to be better and the battery is also really good.

LOL that is completely nonsense where did you read that? all Elephones comes pre-rooted from stock with SU when you buy them. It have been like that since the G series from Elephone. In my Review video in post #1 you can also see that it has SuperSU installed.

IOCEAN M6752 "ROCK" 4G/LTE 64bit MT6752 Octa Core, 3GB RAM, Full HD

Hi out there, The IOCEAN M6752 is using the 64bit MT6752 Octa Core chipset. It has some really good specs, like 3GB RAM and support for LTE/4G. What are your thoughts about this? Below here you can see some pictures & videos of the phone and the specs.
It is a close competitor to for example the ZOPO ZP920 or Jiayu S3 which are running with very similar specs. But the IOCEAN is cheaper than these.

Very quick, just go to phone Settings > Security > Superuser (enable this) and you have ROOT enabled
There is also now a new update, if you check under Wireless Update in About.
But after the update the "Variety Unlock" has disappeared. So the custom unlock screens are not available anymore. I hope IOCEAN fix this with the next update, as I am missing the waterdrop unlockscreen now.

Hi s7yler.
did you manage a geekbench battery test for this phone or at least can you tell us about battery life ?
seem camera is not so bad though.
what about GPS sensitivity when driving ?
if you had choice, did you prefer this one over Ulefone Be touch or umi eMax ?
best regards

Actually I wanted to, but now it seems to be hard get my hands on one. Most shops for some unknown reason do not recommend this model.
I know that GearBest have it in stock. As I've been looking at it. Out of interest what phone would you recommend most out of the ones your reviewed? I currently edging towards the Jiayu S3 Advanced (3gb version). But I've read that apparently it comes with malware installed on it. Have you come across this?

No I didn't have malware on mine, and if I had, I would just root the phone and remove the malware. But yeah the S3 is definitely a good choice.

That was exactly what I thought. Plus the S3 comes pre-rooted anyway, so you just have to enable it in the settings. It couldn't be any easier really. The only issue I'm having now is deciding where to buy it from. I've only ever used Merimobiles before. But I've read good things about Banggood and GearBest. Which would you recommend?

mine is totaly different
1 compared to the v1 of elephone p6000 (broken) and v2 p6000 the battery is much cooler is quite cool to the touch
2 my example has a more longer lasting battery they even gave me two covers one transparent and one s-cover clip on
3 i bought it at a later production run actually one whole month after the first gen phones where launched are you sure that phone is really a mijue and not a imitation even unknown phones are copied i think china does not know what copyright infringement actualy means?
4 my supplier never failed me yet can not vouch for other suppliers or customers every one has different experiences
dont like it move on or change you supplier for someone with a better reputation might give you better phones?
just a thought
good luck with your next supplier as the one you've chosen is clearly crooked

THOUGHTS ::
First and foremost let me start off by saying the finish on the silver MIX is stunning, when I first removed it from the box I was taken back... the mirror finish isnt something you come across often and it looks great. I will admit it is a finger print magnet, gorgeous nether the less.. definitely worth the upkeep.
The MIX's price point is definitely targeting the low end market, I've found it being sold generally around the $200 USD mark. Which I think is definitely a fair asking price for the device you receive. Obviously purchasing a device in the low range market your not getting all the bell's and whistles and that's to be expected.. however the Doogee MIX brings alot to the table.
Obviously the design is heavily inspired by the Xiaomi MIX and that's a good thing because the Doogee MIX looks great! The bezel-less screen really give's the device a premium feel. I've had no issues with one hand operation and I think the device is appropriately proportioned.
Now let's move onto the software, the Doogee MIX is running FreeMe OS.. for the most part I've enjoyed this android flavour. The UI is not heavily modified its nice and simple, the default launcher supports themes, little to no bloatware, OTA software updater. Includes everything you could possible want or need out the box. However there are a few minor bugs, I have brought these up to Doogee so I am hoping they will be resolved in a future software patch.. overall it's been a very positive experience, the bugs include the following:
Battery usage disabled in settings.
Battery percentage doesn't change colour according to light / dark text.
Android system webview refuses to update in the playstore.
Few minor translation errors in the settings app.
I'm not the biggest fan of the camera app, I really would like to see the UI revamped.. switching modes is a little clunky. However the camera does take decent photo's, I must say. There is little to no video stabilisation so that could definitely be improved. Overall all for a budget phone, it's pretty good... here's what the camera app looks like:
You can find some images I captured with the MIX below, I think they came out pretty good.. I was impressed.
The dual cameras don't operate as you might think, the secondary camera is used only in "blur" mode.. which as the name suggests blurs out the surrounding background of the image to increase focus on the subject.. I really feel like this was a missed opportunity, I really wish they did something more with the dual cameras. The blur effect can easily be done with software, really doesn't need a second camera to do so.
Ah of coarse the fingerprint scanner, almost forgot to mention this.. the finger print scanner is positioned on the front of the device on the bottom bezel. It doubles as a home button when the device is unlocked. In terms of accuracy its pretty good ! I personally don't use fingerprint scanners, I find them annoying... however it worked good in my tests, very accurate.. could be a little faster tho in my opinion.
Being a developer I naturally immediately requested kernel sources, Unfortunately tho Doogee have yet provided them.. which is a real shame because I have a working TWRP recovery for the device already, however unfortunately touch is not enabled in recovery. The only way to fix this is with kernel sources.. for the time being I have been using a OTG cable with a mouse to navigate TWRP. I really hope to see kernel sources release in the near future.
Overall my experience with the MIX has been positive, it does have a few quirks I must admit.. but considering how cheap the phone is they are easily excused. Performance is pretty dam good, camera is definitely adequate for photos, FreeMe OS is a really clean android flavour. Obviously sacrifices are made when purchasing budget phones... is it fair to compare the Doogee MIX to phones that cost double it's price ? Absolutely not...
