IOCEAN M6752 "ROCK" 4G/LTE 64bit MT6752 Octa Core, 3GB RAM, Full HD - Device Reviews and Information

Hi out there, The IOCEAN M6752 is using the 64bit MT6752 Octa Core chipset. It has some really good specs, like 3GB RAM and support for LTE/4G. What are your thoughts about this? Below here you can see some pictures & videos of the phone and the specs.
It is a close competitor to for example the ZOPO ZP920 or Jiayu S3 which are running with very similar specs. But the IOCEAN is cheaper than these.

Very quick, just go to phone Settings > Security > Superuser (enable this) and you have ROOT enabled
There is also now a new update, if you check under Wireless Update in About.
But after the update the "Variety Unlock" has disappeared. So the custom unlock screens are not available anymore. I hope IOCEAN fix this with the next update, as I am missing the waterdrop unlockscreen now.

Hi s7yler.
did you manage a geekbench battery test for this phone or at least can you tell us about battery life ?
seem camera is not so bad though.
what about GPS sensitivity when driving ?
if you had choice, did you prefer this one over Ulefone Be touch or umi eMax ?
best regards

ROOT
Done with iROOT (former vRoot). After that I manually installed SuperSU apk, updated it, and checked ROOT with MTK Droid Tools. Then I again removed iROOT with Link2SD, because I don't want to use iROOT as main ROOT app because it is in chinese and also install some bloatware I don't like. So now I just have SuperSU and still have full ROOT access.
Antutu Benchmark 5.3 score
Close to 20.000. Far away from the original but if you compare that with the iNew V3 Plus that runs the MTK6592 Octa-Core and has 2GB of RAM (also gets around 20K in score). Then the NO.1 MI4 with only the MTK6582 and 1GB of RAM does it pretty well.

I also tried to use a Nano simcard with an adapter in the phone, and can confirm that it works fine. But of course you do this at your own risk!

Question
Hello s7yler! Thanks you very much for deep review of Blackwiew Alife P1 Pro! :good:
How did you enter to the engineer mode on this phone to see names of camera modules?
Which special code did you use?
Can this thing be rooted and run xposed?
For engineer mode, paste:
*#*#3646633#*#*
into the dialer.
Any tip on how to tweak it?
Blackview forum & OTA
Sorry I can answer the last question but just wanted to contribute that I understand Blackview have recently opened the sourcecode for this phone and have a forum also on their website for questions..seems like a new OTA update is being prepared.
Another (written) review online here: Blackview Alife P1 Pro review
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1ItEpI2ezwJaXo2eUpQWW5BNTg/view
source code for the kernel can be found there.
FYI I just ordered one for fun and to port CM 12.1 and 13 onto it
Update: The CPU clocks at 1.0 GHz in reality. Blackview tried to screw us over there

Actually if you watch my video in post #1 and go to time 20:45
You see that it says Possible CPU types: 988Mhz
Declared cpu type 1300Mhz
So I'm not surprised
Aight, CM 12.1 runs Everything works except fingerprint. Once I got that implemented, I will release the build

iNew is back with the iNew L3 (MT6735 1.3Ghz midrange).
The iNew L3 could be a worthy successor to the V3 from 2014. It doesn't have NFC, but instead an IR Blaster!
The design and build quality of this phone is top notch! and the flat design does have some similarities to the Sony Xperia Z3, especially the round button found on the right side.
The square corners aren't really seen like this before, most new phones now comes with round corners and all look the same, so personally I like it on the L3, and it is very comfortable in the hand!
And to everyone who will say that the battery is too small. With the combination of MTK6735 + HD 720P it is actually not that bad. Still I do only really recommend this model for light users.
Highlights
- MTK6735 1.3 GHz quad core
- 5.0 inch screen IPS HD 1280x720 pixels
- Nano-coating that makes the phone water-resistant
- 13MP main camera (Sony sensor) + 5MP front camera
- 2 GB RAM + 16 GB ROM
- Android 5.0 / Hotknot
- 2 launchers, 1 stock & 1 with themes
- Metalframe
- Double-sided Gorilla Glass
- Notification LED
- Dual Micro SIM
- Touch Buttons with backlight
- 7.1mm thin design
- IR Blaster
- 2150 mAh battery / 1.5A charger (fast charging)
- Smart wake & offscreen gestures
- Supports 2G & 3G & 4G LTE Network
- Network: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 900/2100MHz, FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7/B20

Hi i bought this smartphone 2 months ago. I now realize that the proximity sensor operates erratically. During a call, the phone screen turns on and off intermittently. This happens to someone also with the Cubot S600?
Just bought this phone today.any info on rooting, twrp and xposed? thanks.
Sent from my Paris using XDA-Developers mobile app
Can any owner's help? In the notification/quick settings panel, how can I change the date? from year, month, day to day, month, year? I tried the date and time settings, but it won't change it.any help? here is a screenshot of what I mean.
Sent from my S600 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Found out why i can't change the date, its because there is no "choose date format" in the time and date setting's. how can cubot forget a simple thing like this in the last update?
Sent from my S600 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Finally! TWRP 3.0.2 has arrived also for cubot s600 on needrom
Tried it,kept getting fails.(on backup and restore) installed via flashtool and flashify.went back to the other version which is on needrom. no problems with that one.was looking forward to an update for twrp.
Sent from my S600 using XDA-Developers mobile app
So, is this root-able in order to install xposed, and run root stuff?
I'm one step away from buying it..
EDIT: Well.. I actually ordered it.. it was inevitable...
So,I got the phone and already love it. Good camera, smooth interface, no lags of any kind and no bloatware apart from clean master that gets uninstalled even without root.
So for the sake of public knowledge I managed to root with the SECOND attempt on KingRoot downloaded from here:

Please help!!! External speaker won't work. Factory reset, hard reset and still won't work. What to do?

TWRP 3.0.2 by Jemmini attached.
Hands on impressions
It is a nice phone as far as build quality is concerned. and there it ends.
CPU MT6737.
But a small battery of 2300mAh =1750mAh makes it difficult to use with ease.
Even with energy efficient MT6737CPU. it is weak performance of the battery.
CPU is clocked at 1.25MHz so it drains the battery.
Not very nice photos from the rear camera GC8024 sensor, 8MP. Photos with quit natural colors but a lot of noise and not sharp.
Generally nice with metal frame.
A bit greyish display typical for 60USD range.
Performance
The quad-core processor MediaTek MT6737 clocked at 1.3 GHz, has a Mali-T720 GPU and is at 1GB RAM associated. The 64-bit processor would should in any event on paper be better than MT6580. In practice it is the opposite. The framework is not running truly fluid, longer holding up times one should regularly acknowledge and when different applications running out of sight, the ZOPO Color F2 is truly moderate. Zopo Hero 2 / Color F2 is in this way appropriate for close to standard errands.
The touch screen is not accurate enough for high-speed recorder, the camera normal shooting unsuitable and the GPS a total failure.

With only 1Gb ram is really a crap device..
i understand the price range, but honestly 2Gb ram and decent battery are the minumim requirements to have a good chance to sell some units..

I agree as far as the battery is concerned. If 1GB was the only bad point than most devices like new Oukitel units and others in economy range 50-70 USD we should call crap.
But they sell some units anyway.
The battery and camera are the worst features in ZOPO Hero2 or F2 IMHO
