Where did you purchase your AT&T Note 4? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Where did you purchase your AT&T Note 4? Would you prefer buying online or at the AT&T Store?

Best buy. Got 200 dollars credit for my 30 buck phone. Then 100 dollars credit for registering number and preorder.

Seems like most of you purchased through a retail store. Isn't activation free when you order through the ATT website?

AT&T online. I tried a corporate AT&T Store first, but they wouldn't let me pre-order under the AT&T Next plan unless I turned in my old phone at the time of the pre-order!

Where ever I can find the best price. In the past walmart, as they tend offer the best price (about 40 to 50 bucks cheaper). Just be sure to call AT&T and make sure you plan hasn't changed, I usually have to have my unlimited data plan put back on. With my Note 3 data was removed completely as was texting. I called AT&T as soon as I got to my car in the parking lot.
Just ordered my Note 4 today from Amazon as the stated offer it for $199.99 vs $299.99 from AT&T and 268.99 from Walmart (though I could not find a Walmart in my area that was offering it the Note 4 at all).

Fry's yesterday. Total $206 on upgrade

I'm trying to buy this phone for my Dad for Christmas out of contract. Has anyone been successful in getting this for under the crazy $825 price?

How'd you get it for $206?
I know they had it for $189 on a 2 year upgrade, but sales tax should have been on the full price (not just the $189)

I don't know. I am in sales, so I guess I talked my way out of other fees like activation. I was surprised to see the price at the cashier, but didn't say anything. Funny, but my BoA declined debit card transaction as suspicious, so I used credit card. Just looked at it online and it is $205.66

That's awesome - I did the same deal here in LA, but got hit with the full tax. Still not bad at $266 out of the door.........

Swappa.com Used $690. not counting the used value $200 of my Note 2 N7100 I am keeping and saving $25 a month in smartphone fees
Those who signed contracts should not forget to add the extra $360-$600 in higher fees for subsidized phones at $40 per month

[Q]best place to buy sgs2?

I'm looking to buy a sgs2 and I just wanted to see if there was any specifically good place where everyone buys them for cheap.
all I know is T-Mobile stores or calling customer service
thanks in advance
You can try Walmart stores. They will definitely be less than TMobile if they have them available. They don't have a restocking fee and have a 14 day return period. Also, Amazon is a good choice as well and will typically be less expensive if they have it in stock - http://wireless.amazon.com
Hope this helps.
Wireless Advocates inside Staples or Costco will have them on sale tomorrow and friday for only $179.99 +tax. So around $195 out the door!
Are those upgrade or new line prices?
I just checked Wal-Mart.com and they had it for 149.99 but it was for new T-Mobile customers. Upgrade was 199.99
I got mine from T-mo customer care.
Here is my price for upgrade.
Retail price $350.27 including sales tax, shipping, upgrade fee
minus 250.00 phone credit
Up front cost 100.27
minus 50.00 mail-in rebate (I'm not sure whether I will get it eventually or not)
Total cost $ 50.27
Besides, I got android preferred unlimited web for $20 monthly.
They charged me for UPS ground shipping, but actually they shipped it with UPS 3-day select. That was cool too!!
I think customer care is the best place if you are a long-time customer for them.
I've been with them for 6+ years.

No. Upfront is $529 - $250 makes it $279 - 50mir. Makes the phone $229.
Side note: Wal-Mart in the midwest still doesn't have them in stock.
I was wondering the same thing. I was checking out Amazon, but it's asking me what kind of data do I want, I already have it and it's cheaper so how would I go about overwriting that.
Can I just buy the phone w/o selecting what data I want?

Sams is selling also, but hasn't gotten them in stores yet :/ Definitely going to check out stapples and costco tomorrow!
I have them for $199.99 upgrade and $179.99 for new contract. $9.99 for standard shipping and.next business day shipped for $19.99. Pm me for details and email.

Also check Wirefly if you are in CA. They do not charge sales tax (note it is based on the full price of the phone so around $50). They had a free activation last week but that is over now. If you have a BOA debit/credit card you can look for the additup.bankofamerica.com promo with Wirefly for an extra $50. Last I checked WF was selling new phones for $179 and upgrades for $199. Upgrades are hassle free on their website and allows you to keep grandfathered plans w/o calling a rep. Also can do single lines of a family plan.
If u have a fry's electronics around go there. They also price match. They were advertising for $250 but when the rep checked my total with the $18 upgrade fee was $158!!

I would always go with TMO stores. They seem to be the easiest to deal with if there any problems with the phone. Nothing better than being able to walk into a store and get an exchange on the spot.

It really all depends on how much you want to save versus convenience. For me, I'd rather save the extra $$$ and deal with return delays/wait if need be. I've ordered my last 2 phones through Amazon and never had any problems. Shipping was quick and free and the second phone needed an RMA which was all done free. Only hassle was being without a phone for a few days, but that's what backups are for and one of the reasons I am with T-Mo so I can just swap a sim card into another phone.
On the whole I'd prefer the T-Mo store too because they will give best service and of course if you need to return it's the least hassle and delay, but I don't want to pay $279 + tax and have to deal with a mail-in rebate when I can just order it online for $199 w/no tax and free shipping and no rebates to deal with.

T-Mobile price drop to $199 at Costco...

I was in Costco today and noticed that the T-Mobile GS3 has dropped to $199 no mail in needed. I bought two of them when it released last month. Since I was still within 30 days I was able to get it adjusted. Nice to walk out of Costco with an extra $100. Anybody else that bought from Costco should be able to do the same. Enjoy the extra cash!

I yelled at retention for a few days, eventually they gave me a credit. First they said I could return, pay the $50 and buy it from Wal-Mart, then that didn't work so they gave me a $50 credit. Then they said I could do it in a few days "when the system reset" showing me eligible for an upgrade. That didn't happen either. Then they said they would sell it to me from customer service for 199 or I could buy it from a retail store and they would credit my account. Worked out, just had to pay a bit more up front.
Yea, this is how i got my phone about 2 weeks ago. They even had a deal where you could get a GS2 for free on another line. It should be the same at every Costco. So i payed 199 for the GS3 and my dad got the GS2 for free. So worth it. Big upgrade from my Mytouch 4G

Now i just gotta wait for ups
Keep in mind that at Costco, they charge you tax on the pre-coupon price, so here in WA, where tax is 9.5% it kinda sucks. But they do have great customer service and free accessories.

This is true, but it's not being calculated from the MSRP either, it's calculated off their reduced wholesale price, which for me in CA, for 16GB SGS3 was $389.99, and that came out to $34 in tax (8.75% tax where I live.) Compare this to T-mobile who wanted to charge me tax off the full $629.99 MSRP, which would have been $55 in tax, and it's still $21 cheaper, even if you can talk t-mobile down to the $199 price.
Cheers

Did you buy your T-Mobile Note II Online or T-Mobile Retail Store?

My online order was recently cancelled by T-Mobile for unknown reasons, possibly due to no stock. It is really frustrating especially after you wait for a week to find out the phone you ordered was on backorder and eventually cancelled. Is it better to wait and purchase online at T-Mobile's website once stocks are available again or should I purchase at the T-Mobile store? Are there any differences I should be looking out for?
Retail Store
I bought my Note 2 at the retail store. I had a similar experience with the first Note, ordered it and found out 3 days later the order was canceled because they were out of stock. In hind sight sort glad it turned out that way, loving my Note 2.

Do you remember the $0 promotion from 21-31 last month? This applied to Value Plan only and your contact will be reset.
I remember a promotion like that going on. However, I was inclined into a different plan. Guess, that was the reason why I waited and finally came to know T-Mobile's Online store was out-of-stock. I wouldn't mind paying the full price for the Note II. Would stores be having it ready in stock?

The Note series has always been expensive. Nothing new here. Plus you can get an old phone and turn it in with a preorder and get 200$ off. Then there are subsidies or things like Next. Very few people still pay up front for the full phone cost so they don't care.

Did anyone else catch the $749 price through Amazon.com before they raised it to 829 and now 799?
Looks like Amazon is shipping their AT&T Note 4 on the 17th versus AT&T's 14th date.
One thing to thing about though is that you will be charged $40 activation free. When I buy it from ATT they always wave this fee so it becomes just about the same price as getting it from Amazon.

I've bought outright from Amazon many times and I never incurred an activation fee. Maybe if I bought them with a contract, but definitely not outright. I just ordered my Note 4 about 20 minutes ago from Amazon. I paid the $799 plus tax, but that was it. When I get it I'll just pop in my AT&T sim and I'll be good to go. If by any chance there is a $40 activation fee, I'll just have AT&T waive it.
EDIT: I think I know why you got charged an activation fee now. I contacted Amazon and AT&T and they said I do not pay any activation fees because of my discount. That makes sense. Does your AT&T account receive a FAN discount of any kind? If not, then activation fees automatically charge to the account.
Only discount I receive is my 24% work discount on my data plan.

Did you activate anything? New lines of service? I've bought several phones from different retailers at full price, popped in my AT&T SIM, and had service immediately. No activation fees, no fuss - there were no changes to my account, I didn't contact AT&T, they didn't contact me, etc.
Your right! I forgot that we ported over 2 number at the time we bought the note 3s.
Oddly, their site doesn't offer the AT&T Next options for the Note 4 ("AT&T Next not available for this device"). I did a chat with customer service but they had no explanation.

[Q] ATT and Samsung promotion, Best buy trade-in ?

I have a question. I am thinking to buy the Note 4 in the following manner
1) Pre-order the Note 4 on ATT website by selecting ATT Next 12 and adding a new line (this makes me eligible for a $100 credit )
2) Trade-in my old iPhone 4S at Bestbuy (value shown is around $40)
3) The difference amount i.e (200-40=160$) will be paid by Samsung ?
In this way I am having a savings of $300. Am I missing something here ? Please help
Thank You
Needs to be traded to the retailer where you're preordering
Does it state that in the fine print? Anyways AT&T is giving me 0 value for my 4S whereas bestbuy is offering me atleast 40$. So i am really confused what to do. I can't order from Bestbuy as Store pickup is required.

"Store pickup is required"??? Where are you getting your information from? When I have attempted to pre-order from Best Buy, I am told the pre-orders can only be SHIPPED to my home. There is no store pickup option. I know this because I actually prefer store pickup for my circumstances, but Best Buy will not give the option if you pre-order online. Now, if you go into a store and do it... that's another issue.

Yes. Looks like you have the proper steps as outlined here https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/Note4/
As long as Best Buy is an official trade in site...although I believe Sprint offers a little more in trade-in value. Which if it is the same Iphone 4S at AT&T listed here https://secure.sprintbuyback.com/cns/device_list...it is worth $202. Or it looks like it is worth $100 to AT&T...then you would only be waiting on $100 check from Samsung.

Preordered my att note 4 from best buy 10/18.picked it up 10/25 at store.put $50 down.they gave me gift card to use toward purchase.at time of p/u,I gave them a used galaxy S2(i777).they gave me $200 toward purchase of note 4.that gave me $250 toward the $299 note 4.after taxes it was $73+ I paid them.waiting to see if there is any fees beside activation thru att.this was a standard 2 year upgrade.
no trouble with my trade-in phone.
no questions asked.it turned on.they checked numbers to make sure it wasn't stolen.and that was it.I bought that phone with broke screen and bad charge port.fixed both.used couple a couple of weeks.
