Hello Guys!
I need help in porting (or building from source) a jellybean rom to redmi 1s. Can you please suggest a rom which is worth porting and how I should do this? I know I can use ROM Kitchen and i know how to use it. But what I think is that the ported rom might not work if we use MIUI V5 as base rom cause it is already heavily modded. So any suggestions for that
You can port miui too see adria ROM it also based on miui stock and its awesome ROM bro so go for it..And do some thing diffrent..all the best.:good:
If you want to port a JB rom, then you'll need a JB Rom as Base. And if im not wrong you might be porting 4.2.x not 4.3
So basically we dont have any 4.2.x rom which can be used for base.
But if you are porting a 4.3 rom then there is a Rom available, AOSP 4.3 but it has some bugs which has been mentioned.
But as you also stated that you want to build from source, then go ahead start building the environment in your PC.
Remember Porting Rom from another device is a different thing and Building from source is another thing.

I am trying to port slimkat from moto g to our device , it is in bootloop stage
I cannot take a logcat system shows it is offline
Dalvic cache contain bytecode of framework but it is not loading bytecode of app
Any suggestion ? Uploading the entire rom will solve any problem ?

I am using mokee as base rom. After i boot, it shows mi logo and then stucked at slimkat logo.
I tried changing Bootclasspath but it directly goes to fastboot. Any change in boot.img is directly taking me to fastboot. Please help me to learn porting.
If anyone had ported any rom then please tell me what base rom you used and link for port rom.

I dont know how to compile from source and cannot install linux in my system to learn that. If you know how to do it in windows then please let me know

Use cm 11 r14 as base
It has no tweaks or modification
It is more easy always take clean cm roms to port roms

I don't there there is a custom ROM for your device. You'd have to develop one yourself. Best off using Xposed framework to make the modifications you want.
Dont change the ROM
Many of the alcatel's are not tested with custom ROMS, i hope 8000d has the better android version. if you really want to change the OS, go for cynagenmod which is tested in many devices.
What is with all of these mediatek device requests? Mediatek doesn't share their source so now good custom roms will come to these phones

Im just new to flashing roms and stuff so i have a question
Can you Flash a different Kernel to a different rom?
like for example , i have my Xperia S running on ParanoidAndroid 4.2 Beta 1 and since overclocking is not posible i want to flash a new kernel because i dont want to system reset my phone.
is it posible? Pls help

Yes, it's possible, just flash the kernel you want with cwm without wiping system or data. (Note that the kernel must be compatible with the rom!)

It is possible, but I don't think there is an overclocking kernel for PA yet. Deedwar wants to include it, but hasn't come to it yet. The AOSPA legacy ROMs will definitely not have overclocking though.

While we're on the subject, i was wondering if you could explain to me is it possible to use the boot.img from the newest experimental CM11 build by RaymanFX and use it (flash it) in AOSPA Legacy builds by Deedwar? Considering that the AOSPA legacy builds have cm as a base.

Not this time you cant. He has upgraded a few very key areas that require newer sources that need to be included in the ROM itself. So you will have to wait till i get around to editing the kernel and adding it to my github for AOSPA to build from.
I thought I should make a topic where all the roms for these phones are listed, because there is a great development going on and so much more to come and I think I'm not the only one.
Please report it here in the comments if you found a rom that's not listed below, I will add it ASAP.

At Mokee ROMs you've make an error: thewisenerd version is based on CM11 repository and Mokee open sources (from Mokee team -> is not made by azimdotnet) is based on mokee sources. Please correct.

Thnx for the info. I only added it because he added some pre-installation apps. though its nothing but still. But yes, 2 roms made from same source is unnecessary to mention.

U should remove the link to Mahdi ROM reason.
1. Its not allowed to post the link to other site on XDA.

thx for pointing that, I will remove any rule violated content as soon as any moderator flag this.
Also I posted the link here because I know that dev for a long time and I know that the rom is working, it had just 1 bug with 3g connection but he solved it that day only, currently the rom is tested by some users there and I have pm ed them and they said its working with out any major issue. he is that good of a developer and this is not the 1st time he developed rom with out device, kra1o5 also knows him and his work personally.

SlimKat doesn't support msim, so it will be hard to get RIL working!
Many of members here asking for porting help..there you can ask your question instead of posting new thread...anyways take cynogen ROM as base then try...but next time try to search before posting thread... keep xda clean..
With the kernel source released the days of porting are over guys. There is no longer a need for ports. Just use the source available to used things from source. There will be alot of work that needs to be done but I'm sure you guys can handle it.
So I am hello guys, I am a rom dev and I own mondrianwifi. I can make any rom for SM-t320. I am having troubles deciding. I will let you guys decide. Which rom should I make for SM-t320? I am currently at the time I am writing this, I am compiling RevengeOS android 11 for SM-t320. I need your help let me know ANY rom and I will try to compile it for our Tablet. Also I will post the rom on XDA once its compiled

I would love to make for Tablets other than SM-t320. But I only have sm-t320 to test on, if I had sm-t900 I would of surely made for it. I can just build for it, but I won't be able to test it. So if I built a rom for SM-t900 I wouldn't of know if it has a bootloop. So only SM-t320. Sorry. :crying:

Is there a sense in asking for a ROM for T325?
Don't know if it's that much different except LTE of course.
The dev @Valera1978 seems to have stopped carrying on with LOS17.1.
