[Q] Any SIP/VOIP client working for T700 - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone found a SIP/VOIP client, dialer that works on a rooted default OS? I have both a Note 8 and Tab S T700 and on the Note I have 3CXPhone configured and working with a Vonage SIP acct. but when I try to use the same APK and profile on the T700 it crashes when trying to register... Other SIP clients that don't require the Native Android SIP stack don't crash but fail to register. It 'feels' like a possibly a firewall type of issue but I can't be sure so any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

[A] CSipSimple Works!
3CXPhone which is no longer available crashes But Latest CSipSimple works as long as you configure it right I had been thinking I was translating the Password from the 3CX .profile but messed up the zero vs. Cap Ohh !

Outgoing calls not working on Gingerbread SIP account

Has anybody, running Gingerbread / CyanogenMod 7, tried using the built-in SIP stack?
I'm able to connect to my Aretta VOIP account successfully over wifi, and I can receive incoming calls on my Evo. But when I try to place an outgoing call, nothing happens.
I select the SIP adddress in the call log (say [email protected]), and instead of going to the call screen, it just flashes back to the call log.
Anybody else try this? I'm wondering if anybody has successfully made outgoing calls using their SIP account in 2.3.
Thanks!
I've been able to make sip calls using sipgate plus Gvoice callback

I have an account setup with Pbxes.org to make calls using my google number, and it works great, better than Sipdroid on froyo i gotta say.... i have sucessfully received and made calls. not sure what your problem might be
Hmm...
Well, that's encouraging.
Do you guys change any of the options under "Optional settings"? I have tried leaving the outbound proxy address blank, and have also used my server address there. Neither seemed to make a difference.
If either of you guys want to share your settings (minus sensitive info), that might help.
Thanks!

well i didnt really change any settings tho... just used my username password and server, and i checked the box to make it my primary account.
Huh... I wonder what gives.
I'm able to place calls just fine using CSipSimple.
I'm updating to #5 build of CM7, so maybe that will help.
Worked for me, though the sound volume is far too quiet in SIP calls.
It also doesn't work for me (HTC Desire, Oxygen RC7).
same for me
I can recieve calls.
I can use fring, 3cx or sipdroid correctly.
But each time i use the built in app of gingerbread it says "Numero indisponible" which is unready number. If someone has a fix
thanx
I'm having the same issue on a Nexus One running CM7 build 30. Inbound works fine, SIP account is registered. But outbound fails without a message. The screen just goes to the call-log with no sign of an error. I'm trying to enter a regular phone number, ie: +1-212-555-1212 because that's what I do from my other registered SIP phones. My provider is voip.ms
One thing that struck me, where is the dial-plan? And if there is none, what is the proper format for dialing numbers?
I'm having the same issue as mentioned in the OP...Incoming calls work fine, but outgoing calls do nothing. (SIPdroid works fine)
Has anyone been able to find a solution for outgoing calls?
CM7 sip
EVO runing cm7 can recive called just fine, just can not make any calls. No error just closes the dialer when you try to place a internet call.
However the Desire CDMA running CM7 can make and recive internet calls just fine.
Is anyone working on a fix for the evo sip problem?
CM7 sip dial
OK I got the built in dialer to let me make internet calls, if you leave the secret blank on the sip server you are connecting to it will let you make and recive calls with the CM7 gingerbread SIP
Any ideas how to make android 2.3 work correctly with a SIP secret?
In sipdroid and other similar apps, I have the option to set a STUN server, which is needed to make calls if you are behind a NAT. There's no option in the gingerbread's sip settings to set a STUN address. There's an Outgoing proxy option but if I set that as my STUN server adress, the account won't register.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit:
I manged to make it work. I've set the address for Outgoing proxy the same as the server address. No I can make and recieve calls over the native android SIP client
Not connecting because there's no internet connection
I'm having issues (release and #38) with the integrated SIP not registering because it believes there's no internet connection when in fact there's an active 4G connection. SIP works fine (obviously with MUCH worse quality) over 3G so it seems there's some bug with 4G either dropping actually, reporting that it's dropped when it isn't or blocking SIP. I don't think it's the latter since CSIPsimple works in similar circumstances over 4G. Overall since 3G works perfectly most of the time it seems to be a 4G issue. I am also having problems with the mobile data connection dropping despite the integrated and CSIPSimple being set to receive calls and thus presumably always keeping the data connect live.

SIP with Android 2.3.4

Hi all
I'm a happy user of a HTC desire under Android 2.2...
SIP ( SIPdroid ) is working great and i have no problems with SIP calls!!
I have tried another (AOSP) Rom ( MIUI 1.6.5) under Android 2.3.4 in which the whole SIP layer is ( under my uinderstanding...) native, hence supposedly no need for an extra SIP client.
I have configured my SIP account, the way i've always done but I've been unable to make a SIP call.
hence the question, is SIP working under Android 2.3.4 ?
has this been already checked ?
thks for clarification
yup, I've tried native SIP calling under Android 2.3.3 and it is working great! The only problem is you can only register to your SIP account using Wi-Fi (no 3G for now)...
I think some dev's are working around that problem but I do not know for sure...
hi redsmith
Still stuck with native SIP but I found a CSIPSimple client on the market who works great with A 2.3.4...
So there is a solution !!!
Over all you can say SIP works but the native client is not really good or even in a kind finished for the "wild".
One big thing: it doesn't want to auth at a new call -.-
If you want to start a call it thinks one auth at the start is enough but for most SIP servers this isn't true.
Wow, did not notice the native SIP support!
I am using CSipSimple on the Reflex S ROM, but I will give the native on a try...

[Q] Wifi + Google Voice + Native Dialer

Hello Everyone,
I Have A Rooted Galaxy Note 2 (N7100) Running Cyanogenmod 10.2 Latest Nightly Built. Since I Upgrade To The Note 3 I No Longer Have A Data Plan Or Sim Card For That Matter, I Do How Ever Have Google Voice And Wifi In My Home I Have Been Trying To Integrate Google Voice Into The Native Dialer (Phone App). Im Not Talking About Using Groove IP, Talkatone, Or Spare Phone As A Way To Make Google Voice Calls On Wifi. Im Talking About Setting Up & Configuring The Native Dialer To Work On WiFi And Make Google Voice The Carrier. The Only Problem With That Is Google Voice Is Not A VOIP Service I Have Tried Different Tutorials To Forward It To SIP, Using The Sipdroid & The simonics.com/gvgw/ Gateway Tutorial With NO LUCK At All. I Setup Everything Correctly With Sipdroid, None Of The Calls Can Be Completed And The Google Voice Gateway Tutorial Using Simon Telephonics SIP-to-XMPP Method Is Impossible Since They Closed Registration Temporary For Months Now
Does Anyone Know A Way To Make Google Voice Calls On WiFi Only Using Only The Native Stock Dialer Without Having 3rd Party Apps Like Groove IP ?, Maybe An Updated Tutorial Perhaps Thank You

Native SIP client issues

Hi All,
I have the following issue with the native SIP client:
- in outgoing calls, I hear the other part intermittently, others can not hear me at all
- in incoming calls, everything works fine
The problem exists only in the native ("Phone" app) SIP client, which I still prefer to use. Other apps, such as CSipSimple work fine. Other phones with the same native client (LineageOS though) worked fine as well.
I have a feeling this may be due to UDP issues in SIP.
Anyone faced this?
Yes, I find myself in the same situation with my Nokia 6.1 - seems like a problem with their 8.1.0 build:

Nokia's native sip client is useless at this time.

sip calling with native android client on wifi only tab s4

I want to use the native android SIP client on my Tab S4 (wifi only) to place calls through wifi only using my voip.ms VOIP account.
I get the SIP account set up (sip settings are hidden but there are ways to find it) and voip.ms says that it's registered and taking calls. When I place a call, a pop up comes up from the bottom of the screen saying "SIP calling not supported". (I'm not in front of the device now, it might say "SIP calls not supported")
It works just fine on my Galaxy S9, no problems, set up exactly the same way.
I've tried installing the google dialer, still no luck, same error message.
The device is not rooted and it has the stock samsung firmware and stock samsung dialer installed. Without root, I can't uninstall the dialer and install an older version. I don't want to root, but I would do it if I could guarantee it would solve my problem, but I have no such guarantee.
I would install a modded rom, but it doesn't seem like there are any out there and even if there were, I couldn't guarantee that would fix it either.
I can install 3rd party apps like zoiper and calling works just fine. 3rd party apps don't integrate well though and I really want to use the native android one.
I get the idea from this thread that there must be some setting deep in the bowels of android that samsung (or google) has included to prevent sip calling.
Another solution might be that there is some package of files that are in my phone that aren't in my tablet that need to be installed in order to make SIP calling work. I don't know what they are or where to look or whether or not I would need root in order to install them.
Anyone have any ideas?
