Note 4 developers edition in Stock? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know how often the developers edition are stocked? I just got the money together to order, and it's on back order. I read in one of the other threads someone who had a back order, saw it in Stock and ordered it again, then deleted his backorder. I don't want to have to check every day.
Thanks

Sorry to say it dude, but Samsung's website back-order notification system is unreliable at best. Someone suggested setting the order page as your homepage. Every time you open your browser or at least once a day, click add to cart, and see if it goes to the back order section. If you have your heart set on getting a DevEd and you want to get it as soon as possible, that is the way to go about it. The level of demand for these things has been way higher than Samsung's stock and they have sold out extremely quickly in the past. I think a lot of the people who wanted one, got one already... or got tired of waiting and just got a retail or other phone entirely. So there is a chance that when they come back in stock, they will last longer this time but no one can say for sure.

Yuck... Guess I'll be checking the site a lot... Ill post here if/when they are in Stock.

Also to be clear, when you "back order" something on the Samsung site, you are not ordering anything in any shape way or form. What you are doing is essentially being signed up to be notified by email if/when the item comes back in stock. The problem continues in that most people including me, have never received an email saying it was back in stock even though it was.
I just don't want you to think that by back ordering something there that you are reserving one when they come back in stock. If they come back in stock, it is first come, first serve regardless of whether you had "back ordered" it or not.

I could be wrong, but I think last time they went in stock on a monday morning. I think that would probably be your best bet, to be sure to check then, but daily can't hurt too. I'm waiting for their battery pack and charging kit to get back in stock and checking a couple times a day. Nothing yet.

Samsung emailed me a 50% off an accessory. For something I really don't need, but would like to have...I'll wait.

I definitely wouldn't rely on the back order process. I put in a back order right after the first wave of DE's sold out. I was lucky enough to get one of the second wave DE's but only because I checked the website regularly. I've had the phone for a couple of weeks now and I STILL haven't gotten an email from my back order.
I understand you not wanting to check every day, but after spending some time with this phone I can tell you it's worth it.

Like everyone has said: 1) If you want a DE you better check Sammy's website almost hourly and 2) a back order will not get you a DE. When they are in stock they usually sell out within hours. The first "batch" sold out within four hours of the website going active. The second batch within 3-4 hours of the announcement here that they were back in stock. Sorry man but you're going to have to check that site pretty frequently.

It was't THAT bad. The first batch sold out in less than 24 hours but lasted longer than 12 hours. I visited the website and purchased mine 12 hours after a couple news articles had been posted that said they were now available. Another 12 hours later, I visited the page again and tried to add to cart just for fun and saw that it was sold out.
The 2nd batch actually lasted a couple days. I followed the dev edition thread as people announced they had gotten their orders in for the 2nd round. There were a couple people that said it was on backorder almost immediately but eventually got it to work by using the mobile site/another browser. It was at least a couple days before people reported back consistently that they really were backordered again.

You may be right. I wasn't exactly timing the two events. But it seemed as though they didn't stay in stock more than a few hours after word got out that they were back in stock. At any rate, if someone is waiting for one they better be checking several times a day.

Help Me Kill Time! [Waiting for my Replacement Evo]

Time is an enemy in this life without Evos and Androids.
So unlucky for me, I have to cash in on my insurance and get a new Evo. What can I do to speed up my Evo Downtime. If only I could sleep for a week while waiting.
Anyone have a better idea than 48 hours plus 5-7 days for shipping on how long this process is going to take.
Maybe 7-9 days total
Seriously though.. who knows..
In the meantime, scour appbrain like a madman and line up some more apps for your new EVO.
Up to a week? Seriously? I always get my replacement phones the next day. 2 days at most...that's with a substantial sample to go from. I've had to get around 18 replacement phones since my time with sprint.
It will get here sooner than later.
You can enjoy this picture I took with my Evo. You'll thank me later.

ah! DAMNIT!!! i was hoping for cute chicks! not......that!! well played sir
I've been waiting for 12 days for my replacement Evo to come to the Sprint Corporate store. They refuse to give any kind of ETA. They just say it's on back order. Sprint really has a "we don't give a s**t" attitude about their evo customers. My luck, I'll get stuck with a 2.2 and be stuck at stock.
Thats my worry as well. They told me it will take 48 hour to even process the claim before they even think about shipping anything. This is my first claim ever. I'm glad I have the insurance, if it works.
Until then, no man leg pictures and Google Voice FTW!

I had my phone replaced with Asurion about a month ago, when supply was much more scarce.
Started filing the claim online, but the last step had me fax my Driver's License and a form. So I did it all right away. This was on a Sunday night.
Then the next morning I kept checking my online status, but the status wouldn't change... So, me being such an impatient person called them to make sure they had received my fax. The girl said they were working on "today's paperwork" and while she couldn't confirm my fax was received, I should expect a call very soon. About 10 minutes later I get a call from them to complete my order. She told me it would take 7-10 days to get my phone.
So I just waited and on Thursday afternoon I got an email with my tracking number. Finally had it in my hands by Friday.
Just yesterday my buddy broke his evo and had to go through Asurion. He called them though, and they didn't ask him to fax anything. Also quoted 7-10 days.
I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse. I've heard a lot of nightmares about Asurion. I'm just going to hope that there are no snags on my claim.

Yeah, my friend had problems with Asurion. He got an evo shortly after release and someone ganked it from him outside the store. Since there was never a call made on the device they would not replace it for him.
Thankfully Sprint worked with him. They re-instated his discount and took $75 off of his next bill...so he technically came out $25 better than going through Asurion.

Samsung Accessory shipping woes

I ordered a bluetooth headset, TPU case, stand with extra battery, and some textiles on Nov 28th using the 50% off code. I got the shipping notification on the 29th. On December 6th I called into Samsung because UPS shows they never received the package. They submitted a lost package tracer that same day with UPS. It's now the 12th and still nothing. I called Samsung back and they said they did not get anything back from UPS yet and that she would talk to the manager when he/she is in. Of course they hope to get back to me by the end of the week... I've waited 14 days for my order to get here and the end isn't in site yet. My patience is starting to wane.
In the mean time is anyone else experiencing shipping issues with their orders?
be patient, sometimes this stuff happens. I know it sucks. This is one reason I do not like to order online. I enjoy being able to go into a store to find what I want and walk out with it.
Good luck.:good:
I feel your pain, but at least you were able to order the pieces you wanted. Everything I want is backordered and I can't place the order with my coupon until/unless they are in stock.
My order took forever too, give it some time.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I hear ya all... keeping the patience intact, just frustrated.

Unfortunately a couple items are still on back order but I decided to order what I could anyways and hope that the coupon is not a one time use since it allows up to 10 items.
I ordered from Samsung using the 50% off and they took my order on a wednesday at 5:00pm and I had it Monday at 8:00am (would of been here Saturday but UPS doesn't do residential on Saturdays..*****es:silly
Anyways I had a great experience with them and plan on placing another order within the next week. There is another thread on here somewhere and a TON of members placed several orders and all did fine. I think you just unfortunately were part of a F' up. It's how Samsung handles it from here that determines it.
Got a call from UPS today researching the issue. As far as they are concerned I never got the package and they never shipped it. They are contacting Samsung about it.
so where are you guys getting this 50 percent off code i keep hearing so much about?
I just ordered the Smart Dock (yep they are in stock now) and the Desktop dock (with audio out) and the coupon code worked for my second order (yay!). I'll have to laugh if this order gets here before my order I submitted last month.

If you register your Note II with samsung they will send you an email with a 50% off code. Also you can check out this thread as a bunch have shared the codes that were sent to them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957986
Argh! Samsung finally gave me a resolution. They cancelled the order and refunded my money. I was wondering why they didn't just ship it out. Then I went back in to order the stuff that got cancelled and the Black TPU case was on back order... reason found. To bad they didn't decide this earlier in the day so I could of had everything sent in one order instead of two. Oh well hopefully I'll at least get the orders this time.

Replacement Battery (BL-T19)

I purchased a water damaged Nexus 5x, took the time to tear it down, clean the board and connections. It's back to life! The problem is, as with most any water damaged phones, the battery is in need of replacement. Looking around my usual channels (ebay, google) I'm not able to find any. The exception at the moment is one listing in the US for an absurd $90, and another in Spain for a slightly reasonable $35, but with $15 shipping. Anybody around here know where a more affordable replacement can be procured?

I appreciate the link, but that battery is the BL-T9 for the Nexus 5 haha. I probably did come across those places during my intense googlin'. I'd be interested in knowing if the battery is interchangeable in some relatively easy way. But that, too, is hard information to come by.

In my opinion it is relatively easy in a sense that it's possible without too much effort. However it is not easy to the point where it's something that you're going to be able to do on the fly. I would plan on 5-10 minutes to change the battery. See the ifixit teardown of the Nexus 5X, you should be able to figure it out that way.

I did a quick lookup. While they've got a few negative reviews on the BBB website, the people are complaining about poor customer service in the event of issues with the parts. So at least people are getting parts from them. Everything else seems legitimate enough. They accept paypal, so I'm confident enough to try. Thanks again, I looked and looked for hours and couldn't find anything in the US, let alone under $40 after shipping.
What did you pay for your water damaged phone? I had an opportunity to buy a previously submerged 5x for $120, but that seemed a lot for a potential paperweight.

I'm sorry, I just now saw you already asked that. I lucked out and got mine for $80. Complete gamble, but I had a good feeling about it. Wouldn't power up, but after cleaning off a few corrosion spots it fired up. Now behavior points to the battery needing replaced and I'll be good to go.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but fixez is bull**** for that battery right now. I saw your post and had to recover my password to reply to you but I am so annoyed by that company that I had to reply. So I watered my 5x a couple weeks ago and dried it out but it would not charge. So I figure it's the battery. Looked online, ebay has one from spain, one US guy has a used one for 60 bucks, fixez has them, and then some sites in the UK and Germany. I put an order in with fixez, and then a day later got my shipping confirmation yay!! on my way to getting back in business!! Then the next day I get a call and email saying that the item is backordered and should be in stock in a bout a week. I emailed back and told them that their site still has it shown as in stock and I asked them if they ever had the item in stock, and if they have ever actually shipped this item before. They ignored my questions and said we should have it in 7 days. 8 days later I emailed them and asked what is up and reminded them again that their website still lists it as in stock. They said they would let the tech guys know about the website error, but that the item should be available in a couple days.
Well I emailed them again with the same thing: that their site still has it shown as in stock and I asked them if they ever had the item in stock, and if they have ever actually shipped this item before. And I also asked for a "real" time estimate. I then got the same email and phone call that said that the item is back ordered and that they expect it in stock in about a week. So it went from "in stock", to "about 7 days", to a "couple days", back to "7 days" and the website still says it's in stock. So I ordered from rounded.com (total plus shipping came out to $35.24) and canceled my order with fixez, and now I wait to see if that works out. Rounded has emailed me to let me know that my order has been completed, but I was given no tracking number. If I had just ordered from rounded.com instead of fixez, I would already have my new battery by now. The refund from fixez came through right away.
Hope this helps.

The bubble was already popped for me, haha. When did this happen to you? The exact same thing happened with me. I made the order that day, got a tracking number within an hour, then yesterday got a call saying the exact thing. I missed the call, but the guy left a thorough message stating it was out of stock and they were expecting stock within seven days. Weird thing was I got an email a few minutes after the call from a different company quoting a different order number saying the exact same thing. When I returned the call at the number it came from, I got yet another different company name. I get that they could all be run by the same group of people, but it's far from confidence inspiring despite the good communication. I'll have to look into the site you mentioned.
And YES, the lack of battery on eBay is crazy. I'd have been better off ordering it from Spain, at least I'd have it by the weekend if I ordered when I very first saw it. The dude in the US that has the USED battery originally wanted $90 for it. I messaged him asking to make the price more reasonable for a pulled unit, and he did incremental drops over the next two hours to where it's sitting now. I told him about pricing other places have for it and offered 35 for it, and he said he couldn't go that low. Dickhead is trying to take advantage of the lack of availability. For his used ass battery... I ordered an extra unit from ifixez just to sell it for half his asking price just to spite him haha.
I put in my order with rounded.com yesterday and canceled my order with fixez today. I still don't think they ever had the battery in stock, or shipped one to a customer. I just don't understand why the would go through all the effort replying to me, calling me, misleading me, just to keep a $35 order active. Oh well. Hopefully rounded.com comes through. Good luck!!

Thanks, hopefully it's just an issue with supply. I honestly don't think they're trying to be misleading, I think it's just a bunch of young people that don't really know what's going on haha. Hey, that was me! I actually saw this thread when researching options for the replacement battery. I took the PCB from the original dead battery and it fit perfectly with the G2.
I have excellent battery life with the G2 battery so far, the only issue I have is my phone wont give out any battery percentage. But it lasts all day easily and I just charge it overnight so no issues at the moment.
I got the phone dead from Swappa so I'm also waiting to hear if that rounded.com battery works out.

wanted the Gray 128 but only the Black available, went to order black but was out of stock by time i got to basket. keeps occurring. its like they only get a small number in at a time then go out of stock within a short period. not giving me enough time to enter my imei number for a trade in before its out of stock again.
You'r not allowed to trade-in in conjunction with the upgrade programme. Problem is the s9 + trade in value is so much better with Samsung that its stopping me going elsewhere for the handset.

Question Canadian waitlist/pre-booking - How quickly is it moving?

I did see the general waitlist section to get some idea about this, but since I found nothing there I thought of starting a new thread.
I placed an order on August 26 during the Canadian unboxing (is this what it was called?) event. I thought they'll offer some added incentive(s) during the event, so I waited. While I did get an additional discount by waiting, the customer service is now claiming it'll be at least 5-6 weeks before the product is shipped. Is this a general response from them or is it ACTUALLY taking a month and a half for Samsung to ship the device?
The reason I'm asking this is I'll probably cancel my order and get one from Amazon which is delivering in a couple of days. I'll lose out on all the pre-launch benefits, but patience isn't my strongest suit
Cheers guys!
Roy
Did you order directly from Samsung Canada?
I ordered mine on the 21st, and it was in my hands on the 23rd.

Hi! Yes directly from Samsung Canada. I placed two different orders - one for Fold 4 and Watch 5 and a second one for a grip case. The grip case is stuck in "Preparing for Dispatch" and the Fold 4 order is stuck in "Processing".
Interesting. Which color and what storage did you pick? I went with 512GB Black.
Maybe the other colors are in short supply. That's usually the issue. They make tons of black ones, as that's what all the carriers usually order.
PS. It's a great device. The little bit of extra width to the cover display (over the Fold 3) makes so much difference in usability.
Battery life is also excellent, and it doesn't randomly get as hot as a toaster like my S22U did.

I went with the Grey-Green one. I was thinking strategically and was leaning towards the black one because of the same logic that you mentioned, but I gave in and went with the grey-green one as I personally think it looks great. Then again I honestly don't think it'll make a difference to me as my phone is always inside a case!
I will wait for another day or two and then go for the black one if I don't see any movement on my current order. I've been hearing too many awesome things to wait for 5-6 weeks!
Hey,
Just adding to the thread. I order a grey green 512 on August 23rd, Confirmation on the 24th that my order was accepted.
There was no 4-5 week wait period when I ordered. It typically tells you when you look at the cart what the wait time will be.
My order has been stuck at processing ever since. I called Samsung last night after have 3 live chat's with them where they all gave me different information.
Basically, I've been told that my order is stuck in processing because there is a 4-5 week wait now. I tried explaining to them that when I ordered, there was no such wait indicated. For sure there is now, but I bought and was confirmed before the preorder ended on Aug 26th.
So I have an open ticket where they are supposed to get back to me with an exact shipping date. Should have an answer today or tomorrow.
This whole purchase from Samsung online has been a total nightmare.

This pretty much captures my experience. I have received the following responses from the live chat reps:
1. There's a wait of 5-6 weeks.
2. The 5-6 weeks wait is only for the "Samsung Store Exclusive" colours of the Fold and my order will be shipped by this weekend.
3. My order is taking a while since the Watch 5 I've ordered is a bespoke model, so it'll take 3-4 weeks and the Fold will be shipped by this weekend.
I've received these 3 answers from 4 different reps since today morning. I don't believe a word that's coming from them any more. I'll wait till this weekend and raise a ticket if nothing moves by then.
I'm curious, which colour of the Fold did you order?

Ah my bad. Missed the very first line!
This is what I'm considering to do. I'll wait till the weekend and if nothing moves then I'll place a second order, this time for the black one. If the second order moves, I'll cancel the first one. If the second also stays stuck then I'll stick with the first order.

Update: I lost my patience with these guys last night and I placed the second order. It's already moved to "Preparing for Dispatch", so I cancelled the original order today morning. I went for the black Fold this time.
