[Q] Possible to sync Amazon apps to the launcher after installing Amazon Appstore? - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed Amazon Appstore apk - in order to have all my Android Apps in the "Apps" menu in the FireTV Launcher - works great.
The problem is, I can't seem to download any new Amazon Apps:
The Appstore app crashes after few seconds every launch.
And when using Amazon's website to "Deliver" them - then "Syncing" through menu, I can't get to the "Cloud" menu that was present in the original launcher - in order to download the app itself.
It's depressing to uninstall Appstore and re-install it every time I download a FireTV App.
Is there a way to download FireTV official apps with Appstore apk installed?
Thanks!

This is already known. The only option is to uninstall the regular Amazon App store. Do the syncing & then re-install the non FTV Amazon App store again. Wash, Rinse & Repeat.

[Q] SPMC on Amazon App Store

I see that SPMC is officially on the Amazon App Store as a free download. It allowed me to purchase it but says it may be incompatible with my fire TV stick. Usually apps just download straight away but this one doesn't seek to be downloading to my Stick. Any way to get it on there? This would make it easier to access XBMC without the need for Llama.
For me SPMC is also incompatible with Fire TV stick (marked with red x in "Your devices compatible with this app")
It works fine, even though it says incompatible. Just sideload the apk like you would any other app.
You can also download it here: http://spmc.semperpax.com/.
Note that the default version does not have a launcher.
Will SPMC icon be visible in default launcher after sideload? The main idea to install it from market was to have it's icon in default launcher...
Koying - the maintaner of SPMC has stated in the official XBMC forums he had submitted SPMC to be published to the amazon appstore, it got published on the appstore but is not marked compatible for Fire TV, and he inquired about why but last i read (months ago) no response back from amazon, There is either something that doesnt conform to standards or some other reason but amazon has yet to mark it as compatible, possibly they just don't want it on the FTV who knows.
The only way as of now is to use the llama method and/or use the launcher version of SPMC. I was hesitant to use SPMC over XBMC orignally but SPMC really does work better on the FTV as it contains fixes directly for it that are not/wont be in the official fork of XBMC.

Yes the icon will be visible if you "shop" the app and sideload it. At least in the "Current" section of the launcher.

I made the purchase on the Amazon App store and side-loaded the app but it does not show up anywhere.
The weird thing is that the reviews on the app store are from Fire TV users. I wonder how they got it loaded.
Looks like it's possible: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/general/spmc-fire-tv-home-screen-t2970932/page2

How to Download Amazon App store Apks?

I'm in a stupid situation. The few app purchases I've made on Amazon's app store were made on a different Amazon account than my current Amazon prime account. Is there a way to download the apk for an Amazon app store app which I purchased previously so I can side load it on to my FireTV Stick?
I've been able to side load apps from the Google Play Store just fine but how do you download an apk (the version specifically meant for FireTV stick) of a paid app you purchased on Amazon's app store? Any help is much appreciated.
Please disregard this thread. Looks like when you deregister an amazon account from a FireTV Stick and register a different one, the apps are still installed.
Actually, I'd love to know how to do this for a different reason. Is there a way to extract the official firetv apk of some apps? I would love to sideload an app that isn't available in my region, but one that others have access to.

Sideloaded Amazon App Store to see all apps but now apps in recent menu dont work

Hello,
I saw in a video that if you sideloaded the Amazon App Store to your FireTv you could then see all sideloaded + regular apps in the app section instead of having to go down to system, mange, apps, ect. However, now I cannot click the app icons under recent in the first menu of FireTV. I assume this is because of installing the App Store correct? Anyway to keep the app store and make those apps clickable again?
Had the same issue. Uninstalled it and they work again. I would like to see if anyone had any luck with this if so what version of the app store did you use?
Try this
Found this on the Amazon Appstore. It is not the prettiest app, but will show on your home and app screens. Just click on it for a list of all of your installed native and sideloaded apps.

Is it possible to install FireTV APK to standard Android device?

I have a generic Android TV box but I like how the FireTV video apps are optimized for use with a remote control instead of touch.
Is it possible to install FireTV APK to standard Android device?
If so, how do we pull the APK off the FireTV?

Thanks! We have to install the Amazon App Store or else none of the FireTV apps will work.
Then, we can install any apps from that.

I installed an app(MBC video app) on a couple of Android devices successfully after installing Amazon app store but got mixed results. The app is designed to work with the remote and not a touchscreen. Also the app in this case had issues with displaying ads via adFire. So your mileage might vary...

[Q] Amazon Prime Music app crashing

I've updated to 4.6.1. (GSM Unlocked). When I try to use Amazon Prime Music and choose "cloud" instead of device, it shows the cloud items for a split-second, then goes back to "device".
I noticed I had two Amazon Music apps installed, different version numbers. One I could uninstall, the other claims it's a system app and cannot be uninstalled. I uninstalled the newer one, leaving the "system" version. Same behavior.
When I go to the Amazon app store and download and install the latest one, it says "There was an error while installing Amazon Prime Music. Please try again.".
When I access music in my library, the app just crashes and offers to send a report (I presume to Amazon).
Any idea how I can get a fully functional Amazon Music app installed?
Additional note: Is there an Amazon Music app AND an Amazon Prime Music app?
Are you using a Launcher other then the stock Fire OS? I had the same issue with the Kindle app. Amazon seems to have 2 "Apps" for their services that launchers show. One does not work the other does. My Music app does break if you installed it from the Google app store. You said you tried from the Amazon store so I'm not sure. The new Music 4.4 app just came out see if you can find the APK for it.

What I wound up doing was "uninstalling updates" from the one I could not uninstall completely. That reverted me back to some really old version of the music app. Then, I went to the Appstore and found Prime Music and this time it installed.
But, yes, I have Dodol launcher, and it still shows "Music" app and "Amazon Music" app. The later is the newest version that now works.
Thanks.
