[Q] Amazon Prime Music app crashing - Amazon Fire Phone

I've updated to 4.6.1. (GSM Unlocked). When I try to use Amazon Prime Music and choose "cloud" instead of device, it shows the cloud items for a split-second, then goes back to "device".
I noticed I had two Amazon Music apps installed, different version numbers. One I could uninstall, the other claims it's a system app and cannot be uninstalled. I uninstalled the newer one, leaving the "system" version. Same behavior.
When I go to the Amazon app store and download and install the latest one, it says "There was an error while installing Amazon Prime Music. Please try again.".
When I access music in my library, the app just crashes and offers to send a report (I presume to Amazon).
Any idea how I can get a fully functional Amazon Music app installed?
Additional note: Is there an Amazon Music app AND an Amazon Prime Music app?

Are you using a Launcher other then the stock Fire OS? I had the same issue with the Kindle app. Amazon seems to have 2 "Apps" for their services that launchers show. One does not work the other does. My Music app does break if you installed it from the Google app store. You said you tried from the Amazon store so I'm not sure. The new Music 4.4 app just came out see if you can find the APK for it.

What I wound up doing was "uninstalling updates" from the one I could not uninstall completely. That reverted me back to some really old version of the music app. Then, I went to the Appstore and found Prime Music and this time it installed.
But, yes, I have Dodol launcher, and it still shows "Music" app and "Amazon Music" app. The later is the newest version that now works.
Thanks.

Kindle

LOL... Kindle app at Play store is a higher version than app at Amazon app store.
Lol I get the same thing happen with Netflix every time Google play updates before amazon. Also amazon will notify me to update Netflix even if my version is newer.

I have seen the Amazon app be a higher version on play. (The real shopping app, not the Amazon app store.)

Seen this quite a bit in cases where I got apps from Amazon as free app-of-the-day but then Google Play shows newer versions. They seem to lag on virtually everything.
On a side note on Kindle - their Android-based s/w lags their "basic" Kindle s/w in capabilities, of primary interest to me being the use of collections. It frustrates me that not even my Fire had these available - its functionality was really no different from the "standard" Android Kindle app. My Nexus 7 works the same as my Fire, from a Kindle book perspective.
Guys, am I going crazy or did the Kindle just get its integrated store back? Every time I would click the store it would launch Chrome (and Amazon.com) , but since the last "bug fix" update it is launching an actual store in the app. Or did it always do that?
Just checked, before it did lauch the store in the browser... It does launch the in app store now.

How to Download Amazon App store Apks?

I'm in a stupid situation. The few app purchases I've made on Amazon's app store were made on a different Amazon account than my current Amazon prime account. Is there a way to download the apk for an Amazon app store app which I purchased previously so I can side load it on to my FireTV Stick?
I've been able to side load apps from the Google Play Store just fine but how do you download an apk (the version specifically meant for FireTV stick) of a paid app you purchased on Amazon's app store? Any help is much appreciated.
Please disregard this thread. Looks like when you deregister an amazon account from a FireTV Stick and register a different one, the apps are still installed.
Actually, I'd love to know how to do this for a different reason. Is there a way to extract the official firetv apk of some apps? I would love to sideload an app that isn't available in my region, but one that others have access to.

[Q] Possible to sync Amazon apps to the launcher after installing Amazon Appstore?

I installed Amazon Appstore apk - in order to have all my Android Apps in the "Apps" menu in the FireTV Launcher - works great.
The problem is, I can't seem to download any new Amazon Apps:
The Appstore app crashes after few seconds every launch.
And when using Amazon's website to "Deliver" them - then "Syncing" through menu, I can't get to the "Cloud" menu that was present in the original launcher - in order to download the app itself.
It's depressing to uninstall Appstore and re-install it every time I download a FireTV App.
Is there a way to download FireTV official apps with Appstore apk installed?
Thanks!

This is already known. The only option is to uninstall the regular Amazon App store. Do the syncing & then re-install the non FTV Amazon App store again. Wash, Rinse & Repeat.

Sideloaded Amazon App Store to see all apps but now apps in recent menu dont work

Hello,
I saw in a video that if you sideloaded the Amazon App Store to your FireTv you could then see all sideloaded + regular apps in the app section instead of having to go down to system, mange, apps, ect. However, now I cannot click the app icons under recent in the first menu of FireTV. I assume this is because of installing the App Store correct? Anyway to keep the app store and make those apps clickable again?
Had the same issue. Uninstalled it and they work again. I would like to see if anyone had any luck with this if so what version of the app store did you use?
Try this
Found this on the Amazon Appstore. It is not the prettiest app, but will show on your home and app screens. Just click on it for a list of all of your installed native and sideloaded apps.
Search for Application Organizer Pro (Fire TV Edition)

AFTV 4K Rootet. Apk not owned!

After the installation comes the message: Apk not in possession.
Can you suppress that?
You get that whenever you install an app that is from the Amazon market and you don't have the app store either installed or you didn't get it directly from the market on your device. usually the best work around for this is to install the Android TV version from the Google play store rather than Amazon store. Or you you can just download the app directly from the Amazon store.
For example if you install the Amazon version of Hulu and you don't have the Amazon app store active on your device it's going to tell you that you don't own it. But if you install the Android TV version of Hulu from the Google play store it doesn't do the check for the Amazon app store and runs fine.
That is also clear to me, but is there perhaps a way to bypass the Amazon exam?
Amazon apk are not in possession
As I know, Hulu is a streaming service. Or did you mean something else?
I don't have an Amazon account and I mainly want to download and install apps such as Joyn or Pluto TV. Amazon forbids me to do that.
