[ROM][I317/t0lteatt][lollipop/5.0.2][UNOFFICIAL]CyanogenMod 12(1/10/2015) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm uploading a build of CyanogenMod 12 for the t0lteatt I've built. This build is still very alpha, so not everything will work as expected, but much of the basic functionality is there and this may be capable of being a daily driver for those who have to live on the bleeding edge. I'm not sure how long I'll work on keeping the build updated, but it looks like I'll be working on it for now. Hope y'all like it.
Known Issues:
Battery life may be shorter than normal (Turning off Adaptive Brightness will greatly help with battery life)
Netflix and other DRM protected apps do not work.
Media sharing services, such as Snapchat, may not work or may have issues.
Twitch may not work.
Bluetooth can be sorta glitchy.
And much, much more (As stated, this build is very alpha, so issues can be expected)
Instructions:
Download ROM here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=22696
Download GAPPS here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/par...apps-official-to-date-pa-google-apps-t2943900
Reboot into recovery
Full wipe: Wipe cache, dalvik, wipe data/factory reset, clean to install a new rom, format system.
Flash ROM downloaded above.
Flash GAPPS downloaded above.
Reboot into system.
Let the system rest for a bit and settle in. (It seems the system can be a bit temperamental if you try to use it too soon... At times.)
If things don't work after letting the ROM settle, you may need to reboot a couple of times for everything to work properly.
Enjoy the lollipop goodness!
I would like to give thanks to the following:
sbrissen, DerTuefel1980 and all other contributors (I know I'm missing a lot, but they're the only ones I can think of right off hand, so I appologize to anyone who deserves mentioning for not mentioning y'all by name, and swear yall have my deepest respect) for their contributions to developing and maintaining the t0lte and related device trees that eventually allowed lollipop to be built for our device.
Ivan_Meler for the original camera fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/orig-development/cyanogenmod-12-alpha-1-n7100-t2949644
mr.nth.na.vn for his work-around to get sbrissen's i605 build to work correctly on t0lte.
Voyebanm for his posts and links which helped me to find the answers I needed.
fkfmfz for his gps fix that I have baked into the ROM and miji2 for cleaning up the fix.
And all the developers, maintainers and contributors of CyanogenMod in their pursuit of advancing and freeing all our android based devices.

Thanks for the hard work! I got navigation but no gps lock but not an issue, camera fix worked for me. The only issue I had was no screen rotation. I flashed a sensor fix and all is good. Here is the link for the sensor fix: https://mega.co.nz/#!1xkSxTDJ!o8DQkNT6UvjNoxfgoxjNq2UnZz_6bO3ivYwMmvRv7dc

Thanks for posting the sensor fix. I had forgot all about someone mentioning flashing it to fix proximity sensor issues as well. I don't seem to have the sensor issues myself, so it just slipped my mind. I'm glad ya liked the build. Have a good one!

This is fantastic! Did you port this from the N7100? Was it difficult? Anyone else noticing any major issues?

This is built from CyanogenMod source with a couple of cherry picks of commits by sbrissen in code review. Many, many other, much more intelligent than me, people worked their arses off to get the t0lte and related device trees brought up for lollipop. All I did was build it with the t0lteatt specific information already coded for CM-11.0. Glad you're enjoying the ROM.
Have a good one!

everything works perfectly

And the camrea is working front and back

Tried to get the camera to work sadly I couldn't. Other than that and some graphical glitches on chrome beta(which is probably just not completely ready for lollipop) everything is running great.

I tried to install this an it gets stuck in bootloop.

Look for the Lolipop shift kernel and install it , it fixes fron and rear camrea

After I did the dirty flash the camera works without doing anything extra.

Got a quick question for you guys. I have flashed this on my note 2 and have an unofficial CM12 I am working on flashed on my Note 4.
I however cannot figure out why Netflix will not work on either build. It is not a lollipop issue, because it works on my tablet, it seems to be an issue on CM12 only.
Would love to know if you guys have a solution, or know what might be missing from the build, so I can bring it back over to the CM12 note 4 thread. Thanks!

I will try this later tonight and see how it is... I just upgraded to the z3. The front speakers were what made me get it... Lol. I will still lurk here once in a while.

Okay... Did a new build... This should fix some soft reboots, the first boot setup keyboard issue, some of the camera issues and maybe a few other issues. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95863780491132977
There's over 200 downloads for the first build, so it seems a fair few have given it a try. Thank y'all for that. Just keep in mind, this is still an alpha stage ROM, so there will still be issues and errors, but hopefully, they'll be few enough to make it usable. Have a good one!

[ROM][Unofficial/Experimental][Android 4.3] CyanogenMod 10.2 for SGS4A (int'l)

-------------------------Warning!-------------------------------------
This ROM is for SGS4A (int'l) ONLY. Does not work on SGS4 from AT&T as it has a locked bootloader.
Please refer to this thread for a bounty on the bootloader.
-------------------------Please note---------------------------------
This is an experimental build of CyanogenMod 10.2 running Android 4.3.
Meaning there's a couple of known issues with the camera. It is my hope these will be sorted out over time.
If anyone has any interest in helping out, please PM me. Or simply fork the code if you want.
-------------------------Instructions---------------------------------
Install CWM recovery from here.
Download most recent ROM from here.
Download most recent Google Applications for Android 4.3 from here.
Boot into recovery by holding the Volume Up button as the phone is booting.
Back up your current ROM inside CWM recovery.
Flash CyanogenMod ROM to your device using CWM recovery.
Flash Google Applications to your device using CWM recovery.
Do a wipe data/factory reset from within CWM recovery.
Reboot system
---------------------------Known issues-----------------------------
Several camera functions such as HDR don't work.
---------------------------Build from source------------------------
Please consult this guide for setting up CyanogenMod for compile.
Please use
Code:
repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b cm-10.2
when you initialize the CyanogenMod repository so you get the source for CM-10.2.
Download roomservice.xml (see below) and put in ~/android/system/.repo/local_manifests/.
Run 'repo sync' and compile with 'brunch jactiveltexx'. You can get the proprietary files from the ROM.
As always, I take no responsibility in case your phone blows up.
And thanks to the CM team for all their hard work.

This is not something you should install unless you want to be compiling and debugging yourself. It's far from usable as day to day rom. I hope I'm clear on that.
Fixed wifi and a number of small issues. Should be a lot more stable. Seems the main remaining issue is, not surprisingly, the camera. If anyone knows how the entire camera driver setup is supposed to work in android, I'd love some help

Call it just a hunch. But have you tried the camera drivers from the s3 ? I would say that it's basically the same camera and has been added in s4 active because after 1 year it became very cheap to continue manufacturing and this way compensate for the more expensive case and water proofing.

Honestly, not exactly sure how the setup is. I assume it's mostly in some proprietary libs separate from the kernel, but it's hard to find good information on it.

I've a MicroSD in my SGS4A and i can't choose the external_sd in the CM File Explorer.
Is there any solution?
For example creating symlink or mounting in /sdcard
I've never tried anything of that!
It's working really well Wifi works yay, well done! Hopefully you can get the camera working too.
Building from source
Hi,
I'm happy to see such great progress already, and am only diving in to this because I'd like to be able to lend a hand in any way I can.
Is it too soon to be asking questions about how to build for 10.2? I'm having a go at it right now, and if I use Lejay's kernel and device configuration (jactivelte), the kernel fails to compile, something about BUG_ON rcu error, I can come back to that if its relevant. So I tried Epsylon3's suggestion to use tpruvot's kernel and device config. This builds a rom, but black screen, can't see anything or get into adb. If I flash Lejay's kernel over the top of my 10.2 build, it boots. Phone (dialer) keeps force closing in a loop, which is annoying, but asides from that it seems to boot.
Keep up the good work, can't wait to get some 10.2 love.

Comparing the 9295 and 9505 kernels, there's quite a lot of differences. Cyanogenmod tried to merge the two, but apparently gave up. The question is really if we should start with the 9505 and add the camera or start with the 9295 and make it compatible for CM. The stuff i uploaded here is a port of the 9505 kernel, but now I'm looking into starting out with the 9295 kernel instead.
The problem with 10.2 is of course there's no released 9295 kernel for android 4.3. I'm guessing there are not that many differences, so it might not be too hard.
I think I'm getting the same compile error you were with 10.2. Not sure what it means.
Are you going to try to make CM 10.2?

I had a chat with noobnl about it, and he pointed out a patch on gerrit: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/44552/
I spent hours manually merging it with cm jf kernel, to finally end up with a kernel that gives me. You guessed it, a black screen. After investing about a days worth of effort into it, I ended up with a buggy unstable CM10.2 build, that will boot if I flash LeJay's kernel zip, but its unuseable. It's going to take some serious effort to come up with a functioning CM10.2 kernel for the International S4 Active. In the meantime, a CM10.1 build with a non functioning camera, is still way better than the stock TouchWiz rom, so I'm happy.
Ok, I got bored and had another play around with 10.2 and the CM jf kernel. With the black screen problem, if you power the device down, then boot into recovery (power + vol up), you can adb pull /proc/last_kmsg and it tells an interesting story. It looks like the init scripts are totally borked. init.qcom.rc and init.carrier.rc are completely missing. I tried simply copying them into the root, but it looks like its a bit more complicated than that. The problem is clear that it is unable to mount /system for whatever reason, because it can't find /system/bin/sysinit, then pretty much gives up after that.
This looks like a pretty simple problem for a relatively experienced device maintainer, or rom kernel dev to be able to fix. It would be nice if we could get some more developer attention for this device.

You probably forgot to add jactivelte to the list at the bottom of device/jf-common/Android.mk. I didn't want to fork their repo just to add one word on a line, so you have to do this manually. It's probably also a good idea to extract rom files from a cm.10.2 rom for something like jfltexx.

Unlock & install a recovery
Wipe data & cache partitions
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.

Short answer: yes. I'm going to try grabbing the relevant code from MWisBest's githib. If it turns out to be too involved for my limited skills, it will have to wait until Ziyan submits the changes to CM.

OK I am going to be on board with testing for sure. I left a post in the now no longer current official thread that I flashed the last official build yesterday and I had perfect 3G to LTE to 3G handoff, rock solid WiFi strength, basically everything seemed to work very well. I am looking forward to seeing how things progress. I haven't been able to keep any of the official CM builds from bootlooping until now. Hopefully you stick with it because I am getting better performance from this device than I have seen in a long while

I should've had a machete to hack through the jungle of build errors from pulling a modified OmniROM device tree into a CyanogenMod build. Looks like the build is rolling now though, with any luck it might just complete successfully - who knows, it might even boot.
The only thing slower around here than me is my poor old computer.
Its kind of ironic that the Galaxy Nexus was the first official LTE device for Sprint and I am only just recently starting to get LTE on a semi regular basis.
@musical_chairs, take your time with your builds. I assure you that they are appreciated. Now that this device is actually getting decent (for Sprint) signal and still has current builds makes it more enjoyable to use than just about any time I can remember....I just miss Imoseyon's Lean kernels. I got GREAT battery on those. They were compiled in the now deceased (I think) CMRemix ROMs but the LTE is definitely a plus
Update: For now, I have stopped working on building CyanogenMod with the DDK 1.9 drivers. I was ending up with a completely unsustainable mess of a device tree, and was still running into build errors. If new drivers are what you want, use FML. I'll focus on keeping the regular CM builds updated for the time being.

Thanks for trying anyhow. I'm glad cm11 still has a fighting chance with the GNex, thanks to you, and all the others who are able to help out.
We're all waiting for cm12 to get to a buildable state. In the meantime, I've been working on upgrading my build box. My old machine was just barely capable of building android, the 'new' one isn't new but it was a real beast in its day. Time for a clean build has dropped from a day and a half to two and a half hours. I'm happy...

just curious, how difficult is it to compile roms? Do you need to know how to write your own code or is it over glorified copy and pasting with packages and stuff?

I do a lot of copying and pasting, a lot of reading guides, and a whole lot of google-ing. I don't know how to write my own code, but I have lots of experience with applying patches. Compiling roms is not that hard if you're a Linux user, have a working knowledge of the command line, and have a basic understanding of git. Take away any one of those things and it becomes a whole lot harder.
jd14771 said:
Yeah i haven't gotten to play with linux, nor do i know what git's are (i think they are large batch's of code posted in plain text?) . always wanted to try but don't have the time.

git is the software the devs use to keep track of changes in the code. Most Android devs have their git repositories on Github, those are probably what you are thinking of. Every little change (called a 'commit') has its own unique hash number. It's pretty amazing, you can look through somebody else's commits and find one that fixes a bug you are working on, or split tens of thousands of changes in half, then in half again, then in half again, etc., and pinpoint the exact commit that causes a bug on your system - though that's more useful in Linux kernel development than in Android.
I don't really have the time either, but it's such a fun hobby...
Using quickboot?
Coming from Vanir. Really like the facility quickboot gives. Anyone "enabled" it? I can't seem actually show the field to turn it on. Settings search finds it, but that's it... Noticed Dev options is hidden also. What's up?
Props for keeping CM11 updated. Really like I can actually use SMS in Hangouts.
I haven't been following the nightly changes since toroplus went dark, but I ran a build today--nothing special, just the latest cm...whatever changes they are. I could post it but don't know if I should make another thread or just link to it in here.
Anything substantial get added to general cm in the last few months?
I tried to run a build of cm12 but it looks like things still aren't ready for building yet, either that or I'm not sure how to switch back and forth between the cm11 repo and cm12 without getting repo update errors.

I got cm12 built and booting for toro for the first time today. I'm trying to get mobile data working on that, then I'll give toroplus a shot. Looks like it shouldn't be too much trouble. Feel free to post any of your builds here, or start your own thread if you prefer.
Here's my cm11 build from yesterday--equivalent to a plain nightly. It's been running fine since I dirty flashed it last night. Md5sum is linked as well and noted below.

Well I got cm12 built and booting on toroplus, unfortunately the RIL is completely borked, so no cell service at all at this point. I'll keep working on that, in the mean time check out the updated cm11 build in the post right above this one.

Unofficial Dirty Unicorns v 10.6, Marshmallow 6.0.1 (9-11-16)

About Dirty Unicorns:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!
Flashing Instructions:
- Verify that you're using the latest version of TWRP
- Perform a FULL WIPE as described below if coming from another ROM or a different version of Android
(A full wipe is when you wipe system/data/cache)
- Flash the latest version of this ROM
- If desired, flash Khaon's partition resizer, http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/development/mod-reclaim-free-space-partition-t3029605
- Flash GAPPS of your choice. (OpenGapps micro worked for me, http://opengapps.org/)
- Reboot and ENJOY!!
**If you fail to follow these instructions, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use Xposed, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use another kernel, please don't bother reporting any bugs**

Seems to have taken one of them sleeps o' death. Kid was watching YouTube and turned off the screen via power button. Came back to it a bit later and nothing. Held power and it rebooted with sixty some percent battery.

Definite clean install. When switching Roms I wipe everything except internal storage. Never xposed, and I run the unicorn blood on every available device. No themes either as I try to make sure all is stable.
OG moto x some ROM with the klear Kat theme is a no go.
I know the rules. I'd get a log cat, but is that possible if it sleeps like that?

This sounds like a rogue app. I would use better battery stats or a wakelock detector to see if anything is running rogue. It may have reset itself after the reboot. So, you may not see anything currently. I can say it's running perfect on my N10 and with at least 10 other downloads and no issues similar to yours, I'm guessing it's localized to your tablet. If you still have a problem I would grab a new download, verify the md5, and clean install.
I'm not sure but I believe you can get a logcat either thru fastboot or right after reboot.

DU performs great and battery life is very good on Manta. I'm very happy with this build.
Thanks for sharing. :good:

Sounds like you need to flash Khaon's resize zip. Flash rom, then khaon's partition resize zip (link in op but also within this forum) , then gapps (opengapps micro is what works for me), then reboot.
new build is uploaded. link to AFH folder in op.
Clean flash with open gapps nano worked flawless...up and running buttery smooth. Thanks for your work. ☺

[Testing]Cyanogenmod 13 - Unofficial

Hey guys,
I've just managed to make a build of Cyanogenmod with lots of help by a guy called sultanqasim (actually he did most of the work), thanks a lot bro
Probably it's very bugy. Let's call it Pre-Alpha. Anyway, the build is ready and I need guys who'd like to try it out.
I chase GDrive for the first CM build. All Beanstalk builds are uploaded to the official Beanstalk AFH.
Currently working:
Display
WiFi
Bluetooth
Sensors
Audio through bluetooth
NFC
Broken:
Audio through built in speakers or headphones
RIL
Camera
Mic
Various other smaller things
Some Sprint users also report that it doesn't work for them. Just try it out if you like. Every tester's report takes the project a bit closer to stable builds.
Download Cyanogenmod (GDrive)
Download Beanstalk (AndroidFilehost)
To flash it:
in TWRP, reformat the userdata partition as unencrypted ext4. Go to Wipe->Advanced Wipe, select data, click on repair or change filesystem, change file system, and choose ext4.
in TWRP, go to Wipe -> Advanced wipe, and erase system, data, dalvik, and cache
flash the file by pushing it to your sdcard or you can use adb sideload. Also you can flash GApps optionally.
reboot into the system
Looking forward to your reviews. Thanks a lot
Good luck to all of you

Can't wait for CM13 on this phone. I know Squid2 has been a ton of work into this, from what I know, already a solid month behind the scenes.
device boots up? display?
thought this thread was closed till a download link was posted...
i don't seem to find any link or me gone blind lolll
edit:- just read that its opened for uploading the link so it seems upload is in progress
Maybe change the title with correct spelling of " Unofficial "
We've had a booting and partially working version of CM13 for a while now, it's posted by @squid2 somewhere in the guides and discussion thread. Which, makes me wonder, with all due respect, how this is any different from that build?Have there been any fixes to the broken things on that ROM (most of the radio, for example) that warrant this being a separate version of CM13?

Hey, squid2 is the guy I named sultanqasim in the first post of this thread as sultanqasim is his GitHub name. I managed to build Cyanogenmod with his help and his sources. He's the main developer. I'm just trying to make a more current build for those who'd like to have one. As a result my builds are based on his latest commits. I'm just the one who did minor patches which aren't as relevant as the ones squid2 performed. He's the more experienced one of us. You should treat me like a maintainer and him like the main ROM developer.

Don't mind. I really want to let everyone know that the main work was made by sultanqasim as I'm not willing to steal anyone's work. I just want to provide a more current build of his work to the community. Assume some minor things have already been fixed but it's probable that you'll experience camera, nfc, radio... issues here as well... I also hope this'll be fixed soon
I'm really glad to see this coming along! Keep up the good work. I'm not much of a tester normally but I think Im going to give it a shot later tonight and let you know what issues I can find.

@krassermensch, thanks for your efforts but... If you're going to publish his work, how about updating the OP with his bug list and the title with pre-alpha. Just so users have more information, instead of the vague "it might be buggy". We know its buggy. Specifics about what works and doesn't is what people would like to know.
This still accurate?

I think the RIL is not working yet which is what you need for the cellular connection. This definitely needs more work before its useable. But really good progress to date.

question, I am trying to go back but I am getting the failed to mount '/system' (invalid argument), any tips on how to bypass that?

my roms

I decided to move my stuff here
These roms are for testing purposes. Some of them will eventually become officially maintained but I felt like testing them now. Why not not share. Which is why I'm not sharing in roms and development thread. For a few reasons du is not going official which is why I don't care what happens. I'm going to maintain a modded version and venture out from stock du and have some fun with it.
I don't mind helping but it's getting out of control. Every other pm is can I have ur trees can you make this rom can you help me compile. That's all fine and dandy but I'm not going to build a rom that I personally wouldn't use. Nor am I your personal building machine I do this for fun. Google, google, google, YouTube, YouTube, google, stack flow, Gerrit, GitHub. Words of a wise man. Use those and read, watch tutorials, and learn guys. Everybody has a life as do I. I'm not gonna say I don't drive some people nuts (coughs) nepo rood lol ur the best. Jay, Brian, razor u guys to. But I had some experience and will to learn that being said I'm gonna leave some links for tutorials on how to compile while the videos aren't for our device the setup is the same so u guys will have a idea on what to do. And I'm not saying I won't help I have no issues with that. But like I said I'm not going to build for u
Guys I do this for fun I don't get paid for it. Request will be ignored until my project is stable. I am not adding any features to ROMs that aren't mine, dirty unicorns I will soon start adding things I like. but on my own time and terms Directions for all my ROMs are pretty much the same. So I'm not sure why there are issues. My ROMs are always pretested by a few guys on my team before released. I use official gapps and data tool hasn't been updated by open gapps which is cause for error on first boot. Not my fault so if u use open gapps expect it. Try razorloves. The vendor/overlay folder should be deleted so it doesn't conflict with substratum and is only necessary if you are into themes especially dark overlays. So I'll share exactly how we flash so there is no issues.
Boot to recovery make sure u are slot A.
Wipe everything except internal storage.
Flash rom and twrp reboot to recovery.
Flash gapps and vendor.
Mount vendor.
Erase overlay recommended but not necessary if u don't use substratum.
Reboot and enjoy ur ice cream
There are some great tutorials for flashing mods on these forums so search there for further help.
A few of my backup apks and latest magisk zip
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1pcSoINLpHuIINuAXGS99jPoc4_njRsvH

Reboot to recovery and flash latest magisk..... Good to go
I am using my own version of twrp but version 3.2.0
Gapps

Vendor. Always the latest

I will not spoon-feed you don't ask me to compile ur favorite rom. I'm getting to the point im done with xda. so before u go on a tangent and cry to ur mother that I'm to fault for breaking ur device I wrote all the directions in plain English. One thing about aicp which I love, is that, they update daily
Flash march vendors IMG. Then flash 20181440 nano open gapps. These gapps seems to work with all 8.1 ROM consistently.Others don't and google camera works and pixel mod cameras too,Sean
Thank you for sharing!!
One more trick make things Easiest.
Run google play services apk after flashing gapps. Then phone with start notifing you that google services needs to be update and play store will bootup and not hang, sean

You can handle that with OpenGapps. My installs have removed all of that (if any of that is there).
