Unofficial Dirty Unicorns v 10.6, Marshmallow 6.0.1 (9-11-16) - Nexus 10 Original Android Development

About Dirty Unicorns:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!
Flashing Instructions:
- Verify that you're using the latest version of TWRP
- Perform a FULL WIPE as described below if coming from another ROM or a different version of Android
(A full wipe is when you wipe system/data/cache)
- Flash the latest version of this ROM
- If desired, flash Khaon's partition resizer, http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/development/mod-reclaim-free-space-partition-t3029605
- Flash GAPPS of your choice. (OpenGapps micro worked for me, http://opengapps.org/)
- Reboot and ENJOY!!
**If you fail to follow these instructions, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use Xposed, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use another kernel, please don't bother reporting any bugs**

This is an unofficial build of Dirty Unicorn's v.10.4, current 6.0.1 marshmallow rom. I will do my best to keep this current until Mazwoz returns or a current, official dirty unicorns is released for the N10.

You're welcome. The credit all belongs to DU. This is their work, I just compiled it for us while they are busy.

This is copied over from the Google+
Oh no.
Seems to have taken one of them sleeps o' death. Kid was watching YouTube and turned off the screen via power button. Came back to it a bit later and nothing. Held power and it rebooted with sixty some percent battery.

Definite clean install. When switching Roms I wipe everything except internal storage. Never xposed, and I run the unicorn blood on every available device. No themes either as I try to make sure all is stable.
OG moto x some ROM with the klear Kat theme is a no go.
I know the rules. I'd get a log cat, but is that possible if it sleeps like that?

This sounds like a rogue app. I would use better battery stats or a wakelock detector to see if anything is running rogue. It may have reset itself after the reboot. So, you may not see anything currently. I can say it's running perfect on my N10 and with at least 10 other downloads and no issues similar to yours, I'm guessing it's localized to your tablet. If you still have a problem I would grab a new download, verify the md5, and clean install.
I'm not sure but I believe you can get a logcat either thru fastboot or right after reboot.

AFH may be down. I will check again later if it's still down then I'll post a link for the rom in a different host. I will not have an chance to look into this until this afternoon.

Seems like AFH is back up if anyone is still waiting.

DU performs great and battery life is very good on Manta. I'm very happy with this build.
Thanks for sharing. :good:

I've been trying to flash this all evening. I continue to get an error flashing gapps. It keeps telling me there is insufficient space for the gapps. I was able to get one older set to flash, but FCs on the start-up wizard. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you need to flash Khaon's resize zip. Flash rom, then khaon's partition resize zip (link in op but also within this forum) , then gapps (opengapps micro is what works for me), then reboot.

new build is uploaded. link to AFH folder in op.

Clean flash with open gapps nano worked flawless...up and running buttery smooth. Thanks for your work. ☺

Downloloading now! I've been a very happy AOKP user but I've been dying to try out CM9, I just wanted to wait until they were officially "Stable" (even though I know the nightlies have been solid).
Ah nice. Good to see it finally made it to RC status. JellyBean is just around the corner now though.
Just Voided my warranty with this. Now my refrigerator is 10 degrees warmer inside and all my ice cream just melted. Anyone else having this issue? Otherwise ROM is great!
Thanks!
Just made the switch tot CM9. Came from AOKP.
Always used CM on my N1. But when I got my GN I saw that AOKP was much more popular. But now with CM9 I'm just as happy as the good old N1 time.
(I really hated the unicorn stuff on AOKP..little bit immature if you ask me)
I didnt notice much speed or battery life differences. Will post my opinion later this week.
Thnx Cyanogen

Unsure why OP has outdated gapps (dated 03/17)
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip here are the latest gapps (04/29). And before anyone asks, yes I flashed RC1 with this gapps (04/29) and works fine.
Great release! Looking forward to additional CM9 contributions being made. Switched from AOKP as well, so far so good... only feature I really miss is resizing the navigation bar.

Didn't really remove anything.. they just simply updated the gapps with newer versions of Google Apps.
Nice!
Is that the latest GAAPs? I seem to have a load dated April 29th here.
EDIT: Sorry, I'll learn to read the thread lol

Ya but are all the features/options found in AOKP are in the CM9? For example, weather on lockscreen, different choices for status bar drop down toggles etc? Last time I tried CM9 I found it stock and not to my liking. I like customizations like AOKP has.
I found out later that the unicorn was considered cool by others so it didn't bother me as much and once I installed franco kernel, I typically replaced the boot animation with franco's...
nice, give it a try...
and yeah, the rainbow unicorn is definitely uncool and the biggest problem of aokp!
Coming from nightlys, should we wipe everything then flash or can we flash over the last nightly? Thanks in advanced
I'll give this a go. I'm not flashing often enough anyways

You can always flash a different boot screen, it takes all of a second to do and if you use TWRP you can just chain the boot screen. I didn't care much for the unicorn, but I dont't think much of CID either.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that officially you should wipe and start afresh, but feel free to just flash over the top - just don't expect much support if you run into issues.

Weather on lockscreen is also in CM9..
About the toggles. I really liked the AOKP ones, more ICS like. But... They take up all lot of space. You can simply press to hide but I like them to be there quickly..

Weather on lockscreen is there. Status bar drop downs.. there. Lock screen customizations, etc.
Many of the features from AOKP are in CM9 (with the recent versions of AOKP they're actually implementing features FROM CM9 into their ROM).
Such as their kernel, GNParts, AOKPStats, and a bunch of other features.
Try the ROM, just make a nandroid backup beforehand.. if you don't like it. Swap back. Like I said, only feature I REALLY miss is resizing the navigation bar to a smaller size.
I liked AOKP but I had a large number of problems with the ROM, my main issue was that it was being bloated with more and more unnecessary features.
AOKPtips.apk, swagpapers, etc.... basically unnecessary things like that. They all add up and build up to become a very bloated ROM. Not to mention again, they've started to add features from CM9 into their ROM which made it even worse. CM9 is more simplistic but still very customizable to use.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

It never occurred to me to check to see if there was something I needed to add in to the device files to support changing the runtime.
EDIT: I'll check to see if the lines are in the build target. I always err on the side of caution and ART wasn't a concern since this was a build for me.
EDIT 2: Testing ART support now.
EDIT 3: Seems to be working just fine. I'll run ART on my phone for now and test.

Nice. Happy birthday.
ART support
Just a quick update on ART support. After enabling it in developer options and rebooting, things seem to be fine so far. It took a bit after switching the runtime the first reboot but after the 'upgrade' finished there were no FC's and the phone seems to be functioning normally. Any apps that have issues with ART will still have issues though obviously. Having said that, so far so good.

Hey guys,
Here is an unofficial build of the CarbonROM I made for myself and I thought I'd share since it seems to be working pretty well for me. Your mileage may vary though so please nandroid as you normally would when crack flashing. If one of the normal devs was already working on CarbonROM this wasn't me trying to step on toes. I don't intend to do this nightly, or at all if an official build is in the works.
In the meantime, enjoy.

No worries...thanks for the reply. I may flash the EliteLunar kernel since it has a few nice features that the CM kernel doesn't, but I'll agree that the CM kernel does run nice and smooth. Thanks again for the port...I hope we can keep this going until Carbon either devs for the m7 or lets someone be an official maintainer. Carbon has been my favorite ROM since its inception.

I'll keep my eyes on the changelog. Now that I've got everything set up it's no big deal to build a ROM now and again when the changes warrant it until an official port.

[ROM][I317/t0lteatt][lollipop/5.0.2][UNOFFICIAL]CyanogenMod 12(1/10/2015)

I'm uploading a build of CyanogenMod 12 for the t0lteatt I've built. This build is still very alpha, so not everything will work as expected, but much of the basic functionality is there and this may be capable of being a daily driver for those who have to live on the bleeding edge. I'm not sure how long I'll work on keeping the build updated, but it looks like I'll be working on it for now. Hope y'all like it.
Known Issues:
Battery life may be shorter than normal (Turning off Adaptive Brightness will greatly help with battery life)
Netflix and other DRM protected apps do not work.
Media sharing services, such as Snapchat, may not work or may have issues.
Twitch may not work.
Bluetooth can be sorta glitchy.
And much, much more (As stated, this build is very alpha, so issues can be expected)
Instructions:
Download ROM here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=22696
Download GAPPS here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/par...apps-official-to-date-pa-google-apps-t2943900
Reboot into recovery
Full wipe: Wipe cache, dalvik, wipe data/factory reset, clean to install a new rom, format system.
Flash ROM downloaded above.
Flash GAPPS downloaded above.
Reboot into system.
Let the system rest for a bit and settle in. (It seems the system can be a bit temperamental if you try to use it too soon... At times.)
If things don't work after letting the ROM settle, you may need to reboot a couple of times for everything to work properly.
Enjoy the lollipop goodness!
I would like to give thanks to the following:
sbrissen, DerTuefel1980 and all other contributors (I know I'm missing a lot, but they're the only ones I can think of right off hand, so I appologize to anyone who deserves mentioning for not mentioning y'all by name, and swear yall have my deepest respect) for their contributions to developing and maintaining the t0lte and related device trees that eventually allowed lollipop to be built for our device.

I'm uploading a build of CyanogenMod 12 for the t0lteatt I've built. This build is still very alpha, so not everything will work as expected, but much of the basic functionality is there and this may be capable of being a daily driver for those to have to live on the bleeding edge. I'm not sure if I'll work on keeping the build updated, but it's always a possibility. Hope y'all like it.
Known Issues:
GPS may not work (GPS Test does not see any satellites, but navigation still seems to work, so I don't know)
Battery life may be shorter than normal
Camera issues (see below)
And much, much more (As stated, this build is very alpha, so issues can be expected)
Instructions:
Download ROM here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95857557620392172
Download GAPPS here: https://s.basketbuild.com/filedl/gapps?dl=gapps-lp-20141109-signed.zip
Reboot into recovery
Full wipe: Wipe cache, dalvik, wipe data/factory reset, clean to install a new rom, format system.
Flash ROM downloaded above.
Flash GAPPS downloaded above.
Reboot into system.
Skip initial setup.
Go to Settings > Language & input > Current Keyboard.
Check on "Hardware".
Setup Wifi, APN, Google account, etc in Settings.
If you have problems with camera (no back camera/Can't connect to camera):
Download Google Camera from the Play Store.
Download Terminal Emulator (Terminal Emulator for Android) from the Play Store.
Open Terminal Emulator
Type: su
Press Enter
Type: sh etc/init.d/80cfw
Camera may now work (Sometimes, the camera may, again, not connect, but should start working again after a reboot)

Thanks for the hard work! I got navigation but no gps lock but not an issue, camera fix worked for me. The only issue I had was no screen rotation. I flashed a sensor fix and all is good. Here is the link for the sensor fix: https://mega.co.nz/#!1xkSxTDJ!o8DQkNT6UvjNoxfgoxjNq2UnZz_6bO3ivYwMmvRv7dc

Thanks for posting the sensor fix. I had forgot all about someone mentioning flashing it to fix proximity sensor issues as well. I don't seem to have the sensor issues myself, so it just slipped my mind. I'm glad ya liked the build. Have a good one!
This is fantastic! Did you port this from the N7100? Was it difficult? Anyone else noticing any major issues?

This is built from CyanogenMod source with a couple of cherry picks of commits by sbrissen in code review. Many, many other, much more intelligent than me, people worked their arses off to get the t0lte and related device trees brought up for lollipop. All I did was build it with the t0lteatt specific information already coded for CM-11.0. Glad you're enjoying the ROM.
Have a good one!
everything works perfectly

And the camrea is working front and back
Tried to get the camera to work sadly I couldn't. Other than that and some graphical glitches on chrome beta(which is probably just not completely ready for lollipop) everything is running great.

Look for the Lolipop shift kernel and install it , it fixes fron and rear camrea
After I did the dirty flash the camera works without doing anything extra.
Got a quick question for you guys. I have flashed this on my note 2 and have an unofficial CM12 I am working on flashed on my Note 4.
I however cannot figure out why Netflix will not work on either build. It is not a lollipop issue, because it works on my tablet, it seems to be an issue on CM12 only.
Would love to know if you guys have a solution, or know what might be missing from the build, so I can bring it back over to the CM12 note 4 thread. Thanks!

I will try this later tonight and see how it is... I just upgraded to the z3. The front speakers were what made me get it... Lol. I will still lurk here once in a while.
Okay... Did a new build... This should fix some soft reboots, the first boot setup keyboard issue, some of the camera issues and maybe a few other issues. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95863780491132977
There's over 200 downloads for the first build, so it seems a fair few have given it a try. Thank y'all for that. Just keep in mind, this is still an alpha stage ROM, so there will still be issues and errors, but hopefully, they'll be few enough to make it usable. Have a good one!

[HomeBrews] Pixel 2: LineageOS/CarbonROM/DirtyUnicorns

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pre-Disclaimer:
THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL BUILD. The intent is to showcase what is coming up soon. I have been working hard on getting Walleye on a level I consider DD ready, especially from a security side of things.
Please keep any problems with those builds in this thread, I don't accept any bug reports for any other builds other than my HomeBrews.
Disclaimer:
While I make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, I am not responsible for anything that may happen to your device. I ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash or post that you broke your phone!
Support:
I spend an astonishing amount of time developing this device. I can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Ask a question in this forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
Notice:
This build includes GApps for now. We're still working on ways to not prebundle it.
Before you flash, make sure you're on the latest 8.1 stock builds (and bootloader), then flash the ROM in TWRP.
Instructions :
Boot to TWRP
Format Data (If you didn't type YES, you did it wrong!)
adb sideload homebrews.zip
reboot system
(to gain root you must first boot homebrewsROM. Then reboot and to TWRP and install Magisk 1 6.0)
See below
Reporting Bugs:
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.
What is your--
Build Date:
Did you--
wipe:
all data?
install gapps when you weren't suppose to?
Provide any additional information (observations/frequency of problem/last version it worked on/etc) as needed:
WARNING: These are my personal testing builds. They include unmerged, work-in-progress stuff such as SuperUser, Privacy Guard, Google Play services etc. DO NOT FLASH 3RD PARTY GAPPS PACKAGES!
If you see a warning about vendor partition mismatch, you can ignore that in most cases, but before reporting issues you should be on the right version (without the warning).

Don't devices that are not officially supported need someone to start the process and possible become a maintainer? I could be mistaken. I myself think moonshine is pretty cool and would love to know how to make it.

I heard they are working on taimen first then our phone. For the most part it is all their that it seems. ****ty part is they cannot make it official until they find out why you cannot flash gapps.
So the work around is make it unofficial and build gapps inside.

I was the same way. A **** ton of reading and a lot of PMing. It is pretty simple when you get the hang of it. This early in the game you get to see the codes that attract you to certain roms or kernels.
Right now i just need to make sure it is stable before i work on the kernel or choose what rom i am gonna stick with.

Awesome, glad to see some work
Sideloading it worked. Totally clean install- formatted data (as in typed "yes") and pushed the files like described.
*Wouldn't pick up my 5ghz wireless network during setup, but connected once I was in the os.
LTE seems fine, the screenshot is par for what I get around here. Still setting up and testing, but looking good so far!

my roms

I decided to move my stuff here
These roms are for testing purposes. Some of them will eventually become officially maintained but I felt like testing them now. Why not not share. Which is why I'm not sharing in roms and development thread. For a few reasons du is not going official which is why I don't care what happens. I'm going to maintain a modded version and venture out from stock du and have some fun with it.
I don't mind helping but it's getting out of control. Every other pm is can I have ur trees can you make this rom can you help me compile. That's all fine and dandy but I'm not going to build a rom that I personally wouldn't use. Nor am I your personal building machine I do this for fun. Google, google, google, YouTube, YouTube, google, stack flow, Gerrit, GitHub. Words of a wise man. Use those and read, watch tutorials, and learn guys. Everybody has a life as do I. I'm not gonna say I don't drive some people nuts (coughs) nepo rood lol ur the best. Jay, Brian, razor u guys to. But I had some experience and will to learn that being said I'm gonna leave some links for tutorials on how to compile while the videos aren't for our device the setup is the same so u guys will have a idea on what to do. And I'm not saying I won't help I have no issues with that. But like I said I'm not going to build for u
Guys I do this for fun I don't get paid for it. Request will be ignored until my project is stable. I am not adding any features to ROMs that aren't mine, dirty unicorns I will soon start adding things I like. but on my own time and terms Directions for all my ROMs are pretty much the same. So I'm not sure why there are issues. My ROMs are always pretested by a few guys on my team before released. I use official gapps and data tool hasn't been updated by open gapps which is cause for error on first boot. Not my fault so if u use open gapps expect it. Try razorloves. The vendor/overlay folder should be deleted so it doesn't conflict with substratum and is only necessary if you are into themes especially dark overlays. So I'll share exactly how we flash so there is no issues.
Boot to recovery make sure u are slot A.
Wipe everything except internal storage.
Flash rom and twrp reboot to recovery.
Flash gapps and vendor.
Mount vendor.
Erase overlay recommended but not necessary if u don't use substratum.
Reboot and enjoy ur ice cream
There are some great tutorials for flashing mods on these forums so search there for further help.

One thing about aicp which I love, is that, they update daily
Flash march vendors IMG. Then flash 20181440 nano open gapps. These gapps seems to work with all 8.1 ROM consistently.Others don't and google camera works and pixel mod cameras too,Sean
Thank you for sharing!!
One more trick make things Easiest.
Run google play services apk after flashing gapps. Then phone with start notifing you that google services needs to be update and play store will bootup and not hang, sean

You can handle that with OpenGapps. My installs have removed all of that (if any of that is there).
