[Q] Direct Dial Shotcut do not work on new HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim - Desire 820 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought new HTC Desire 820 dual sim. After configuring and adding my accounts, contacts and some normal apps. I want to apply Direct Dial Shortcut of my favorite contacts on my home screen. But it does not work.
Every time i add a direct dial shortcut after selecting favorite contact, nothing happens. no shortcut is applied on home screen.
I want to know what is the reason? why it is not working? and also how to make it work??
Please anyone help me in this regard. I will be thankful to you.

HTC Home - Favorites / How to add "Send SMS" option?

I've been using SPB Mobile Shell for a long long time over HTC Home simply because with SPB Shell's favorite tab, I could use the middle-click D-Pad button and hold it down to open a context menu for each contact.
Then I'd have the option to Call / Send SMS / Chose Phone Number / Edit
While on HTC Home, it only calls, unless I use the touchscreen to click&hold for the contact menu.
So far, I havent found anybody talking about this in any thread. There might have been someone asking for how to do it in a huge thread, but there is no visible guide or fix for it, not even in HTC Home Customizer
So I want to make sure that I'm not missing out on HTC Home over a feature I COULD get.
So... could I get that feature from HTC home? That I use the D-Pad to open a context menu from my favorites to send a SMS?
thnx!
You're not alone! I have very much missed this feature in SPB Mobile shell and apart from the way you mentioned it, don't see it being done in HTC Home.

Touch 4.01 help

I have been using touch 4.01 for a while now and I really like it. The only problem I have is when it comes to making calls (the main reason for a phone).
When I go to contacts and try to display a list, all I get is a list of contacts that I have already made a call to (i.e. history) not the actual list from my sim card. I thought that maybe my sim was not being read but when I start to dial a number (If I happen to know it) It will come up with the persons name. Unfortunately If I don't know the number I can't dial them.
The only way I have been able to work round this is to go to favorite people and add a new person (as from here it will display the whole contact list). Unfortunately favourite people can only hold 8 numbers.
Basically I want to know how to show my contact list that is on my sim card and not the numbers I have already dialed.
Thanks in advance but It's really starting to bug me now.

May U run SIM Manager in Program/Accesories and copy all contact to Your PPC or run Advanced Config in Settings, line "Show Sim Contact" and active "Yes" and Reset your PPC.
Goodluck

[Q] Add New Contact - Not Working

All,
After I get a phone call from a number I don't have in my contacts, I get the usual menu to add the number as a new contact or add it to an existing contact.
When I was using the stock ROM or Josh's Basic Black ROM this worked great. Now that I have switched to ENERGY it isn't working any more... I can push the button on the screen, but nothing ever happens, eventually, I just hit cancel and enter a new contact manually. Same issue if I click the little "+" button beside the number in call history.
Anyone have any advice to get this to work?
Cheers
Install the attached cab file, restart, and see if that fixes it.

[Q] Assign contacts numbers to a sim card auto

Hi,
Obviously am new to this forum and new to dual sim phones.
I have got one question:
I see that we can have all calls be either on one default sim or the phone ask you to choose. My question is whether we can somewhere assign a number to one sim, i.e. each time calling this number it will use this sim.
If anyone knows how this can be done please send me the info.
I have tried to look from the sim card manager and into contact for the different options but can't find it.
Thanks

Dual Sim feature suggestion

Sorry if this is not the correct place for this.
One thing I miss from the Motorola dual sim is the smart sim selection integration into dialer/contact list screens.
This feature will automatically learn which is the preferred sim to use for each contact and this can be changed at dial time. It can't be set on the contact edit screen and is really not needed to, isn't a hassle you have to go thru and usually helps a transparent dual sim operation.
When you choose to dial someone for the first time it will ask which sim to use, the next time you'll dial it will automatically select that sim for that contact BUT on the calling screen you'll have a switch sim button for you to change, which is also useful when you are in a place where signal for the current selected sim is not good, pressing this will re initiate the call but thru the other sim.
This function can be disabled on the dual sim settings screen for those that use some per time of the day or any other different reason.
Thanks.
