[Q] HTC Desire 820 : strange 3G problem.. - Desire 820 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all;
Im from Istanbul TR.
Im a returning HTC customer my previous phones were wildfire, sensation, desire C, desire 816.
I recently bought an HTC desire 820. Great phone otherwise but a strange 3G problem occurs . 3G vanishes, looking like the phone has no 3G and its just a 2G machine.
This is a single SIM model. Everything was alright when first opened or after a factory reset (Ive done a couple of factory resets ).
At the beginning I can make phone calls and I can connect to the internet when "wcdma only" active . But next day 3G gets lost. I can not make calls or internet connection (phone in the coverage area of course) when "wcdma only"
HTC support says my operator (Turkcell) has a dual carriage -so called- TURBO internet, if I could switch it off , problem could be solved. I applied to the operator to switch the dual carriage turbo internet off , they did, and suddenly 3G restored. But one day later its the same...3g get lost again.
Phne runs on 4.4.4 ; I noticed that there is 27 HTC and google updates on the play store like HTC servise pack, kid mode, screen lock etc, . I wonder whether one of these updates could switces the 3G off.
Any idea what this could be and how it could be solved.
Thanks in advance
PS: Sorry for the incapable English

[Q] My EVO 4G unreachable after 2hrs standby

Hi,
I bought an EVO 4g from USA and tried to get the service from China Telecom. Everythings seems all OK for my EVO 4g. But recently, I got an issue is that my phone can't reachable after my phone standby arround 2hrs. So, I missed many calls from friends and coworkers. When my friends call me, the service voice will say the phone you dialed is power off. The strange thing is I even don't know when the issue happens as the signal icon looks OK, the 3G also accessable. And, it will come on when I dial an any number of my contacts. Can some master from this forum can help me?
Some background I need to share:-
China Telecom is a CDMA service provider in China. However, the mainstream phone they provided is using an UIM card which is very similar as SIM card in GSM network. The identify paramaters are embed in UIM card but not in the phone. Before I can use EVO 4g, I need to write the parameters (IMSI, AKEY, ...) into phone with 3rd party software or via EPST.
Thanks
Nobody knows how to reslove it?

One X Mobile Network connectivity problems?

Hi,
Firstly I have to say, that I am very happy with my One X.
I only realized some connection problems from time to time.
For example I sometimes just lose the connection ("Emergency calls only") at home with my three sim card. Right now I'm in Germany using my German o2 sim card, with which I never had any problems on my HTC Desire, but with the One X I lose the connection quite often inside houses.
It might not be a problem of the phone, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has had problems with the connectivity of the One X.
Thanks for your feedback!
Hi !
I`m having the exact problem . I`m on a caribbean network ( Only -Martinique ) . They proposed to me to change the SIM card but I haven't done it yet . I will report back !
Cheers~
Even I am facing the same issue. I m in India. Even the network does not re-connect automatically, it has to be done manually.

[Q] 3G data is not wroking..!!

I'm living in Japan and using Softbank as carrier.
I got the One X international version (from Plemix Hong Kong), and I installed the ARHD after rooting my device (Also I tried several custom ROMs).
The problem is there is no 3G connection anyhow, when I switch to 3G it always says disconnected..!!
previously, I have had my HTC Desire HD, and it is working well in 3G and the data transfer is good.
- I'm using the same SIM card (after I cut it to micro one) from Desire HD to One X.
- In both devices the APN settings are the same.
- When I put back the SIM card to my Desire HD, it works very well..!!
So, somebody help me and tell me where is the problem.
Sorry for long message and wish to find a solution..!!
I got the same on my One X. My carrier is Tele2 ans they claim that their network is down due rebuilding, which is not true. Somehow I regret that I took this phone at them.
They will send a new SIM to see if that helps. Otherwise a reparation is needed.

Have you made sure you have the right radio? Not sure what your should be, but you get them here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689679
Guessing it should be Radio_1.1204.103.14 (Asia Pasific)
Long-shot: Not sure if this will help, but whenever my phone occasionally refuses to reconnect to 3G I toggle the settings in the Phone Information Menu from WCDMA Preferred to CDMA Auto (PRL)
After a few seconds the phone automatically jumps back to WCDMA Preferred and it can then reconnect the 3G network. Sometimes toggling airplane mode doesn't do it.
Does 3G on the One X work when stock on SoftBank? I'm considering buying this phone from Expansys and using it on SoftBank's network.

[Q] No 3G after ROM / Root on Desire

Hey Guys
I rooted and put custom ROM on my brother's HTC Desire... It's an unbranded UK phone..
I have put Supernova Latest ROM and then had also s-offed via revolutionary and put latest radio 5.17.05.23
We both have same prepaid 3G sim.. My phone is iPhone 4S. his phone just simply fails to catch 3G/H network and always shows E.. my phone (iphone) always shows 3G network.. even multiple reboots does not fix his problem (or airplane mode on/off).. i think it did show H once briefly for sometime and then simple falls back to E and is stuck on E
I reverted radio to his original one (5.11.05.27) but the same thing..
How can I fix this? or is it that Desire chipset is just weaker than my phone..
My problem is when he returns to his country and puts his SIM in it and if he does not get 3G there as well (which he is sure of that he gets).. it can be a problem for me to fix his phone as I will not be with him
Any suggestions on how to fix this??
Not sure if this would work...
Open dial pad and punch in *#*#4636#*#*
Then check Phone Info then look for the network type dropdown box.
via xda app
