Developers for S5 G900H - Galaxy S 5 Developer Discussion [Developers Only]

Hello XDA developers,
I wanted to call upon developers to help develop firmware for the 900h, even samsung has seemed to have forgotten the H variant in its software updates. Kindly developers interested come up here and we can discuss the needs and help make a few firmwares for 900H.

Good question... XDA has been removing the thread posted for 900h developments for some reason...
A fren opened it twice and both times it was removed.

GUYS ! we must stop this BULL**** ! this device is really cool and beast we have a great device too but no updates no development process WE GOT NOTHING! its not our fault that some of us love exyons and others are obligated to by it due to their country providers...

Now we have cm12 at least
Im making a new thread

Install AbhiDroid rom s6 port for s5 900h. believed guys its really amazing rom.

The thing is there's only about like 4 roms out there for the samsung galaxy s5 g900h. And only 2 custom kernels I believe which is liquid smooth and kians kernel. That's it. Yes the s6 port ae nice I have that currently on my device however samsung is fast moving into releasing new devices I work for at&t and we already know ahead which devices are coming out and about more or less when they're going to be released. The s7 is already made and they're going to be releasing it in the early 2016 according to our boss and big at&t boss from state. They're not wasting time they're also releasing another note and another edge phone so I want to see atleast another 5 roms for this device before it gets abandoned. I mean I see tons of roms for every variant its like everyone is sca red to mess with g900h variant. I would like to see a way to get this device working on 4G or 4g lte instead of h+. If any developer wants to share how to create a rom and has a guide I am more than willing to use my device to create and make and test custom roms for everyone. I also would like to see other ports aside from the s6. Like the note 5 for example.

Also want full s6 port for g900h

[DEV] Gingerbread (CM7) port Samsung Galaxy Tab

Hi friends.
I decided to start porting android Gingerbread (CM7) for
Samsung Galaxy Tab.
In this topic, I will write the latest news on the progress
development.
I'll be glad if somebody from the other developers
to join the porting.
I have a European version of Samsung Galaxy Tab (GT-P1000)
and especially would benefit from participation in the development of people
with the CDMA version.
**Donate Link Removed**
I'll be glad to
donations and if other programmers to join the development of the port
that donations will be distributed among all participants in the
development.
Status port
04/01/2011 - At this moment I working on preparing configuration for build and
later will begin porting samsung patches to .35 kernel.
I am willing to help out, I have the sprint tab which has no cwm yet though :x cm on the tab is the reason I bought it so let me know what I can do

I've been playing around with cm7 for the past couple days. I haven't made any progress. Glad to see someone else (who knows what they're doing) working on this.

You might want to get in contact with the gents working on the CyanogenMod port to the Galaxy S, considering the similarities between that and the Galaxy Tab.
super excited for this; really can't wait for a good rom to make this device shine. currently fully stock CDMA Sprint tab here and willing to test.

Its doesn't really matter, once you get a device and vendor set up with the correct hardware profile and proprietary files (pulled from the tab) you just need a working kernel and you're good to go.

I have a US Cellular Tab that I can test and bug report with.
i am working on this atm too, but i didnt want to open a thread because of everyone just shouting around "i can help u testing" and no productive answers!
i will be slower, because my tab has jmc with signed pbl and zimage so i cant flash zimages and need to borrow a friend ones from time to time! maybe we can help each other to get fully working GB soon!
Unimaginative
Yes, I'll use developments of Galaxy S CM7 port.
all
Plz
Request until the
beginning of public testing do not flood and spam the topic if you isn't
developer and can't assist in the development.

[Q] Why isn't there still no P601 port of lollipop?

Why isn't there still no P601 port of lollipop?
I don't understand why the a device that has both 3G and wifi capabilities with such great chipset is neglected to a point where there isn't even a proper KitKat rom.
Shawn5162 said he's going to port it but as yet hasn't replied to PMs or the thread in which he said it,
XDA is supposed to be the best platform for android development yet a device like the superbly great device like the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition hardly gets support, it's really sad to see such neglect, I asked developers so many times to guide me so maybe I can port it myself but they are more than reluctant
Honestly I give up

[Q] What Touchwiz Rom for SGH- M919 is currently being maintained or developed?

Hello members!
Just a quick question . . .
Which Touchwiz Rom for the SGH- M919 is currently being maintained or developed?
Seems like development has halted and the developers have moved on to other newer smart phones.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S4 old already?
I can't justify buying an new phone when this puppy works just great.
The newer phones are moving away from external storage & external battery . . . Why is that?
If anyone has a clue or any incite to where the mobile industry is going and why, please chime in.
Best,

Devs have pretty much stopped for SGS4, I am running CM 12.1 nightly right now, it works just fine for me now.
I am in the same boat as you, I broke the power button on my S4, but I fixed it myself now, and ran cm12.1 on it, it works as smooth as my mom's nexus 5 now. I don't see the point in upgrading either.
The new LG G4 has removable battery, if you want to wait for it. Think about it as battery runs out quicker, people feel they need a new phone, so they go and buy a new phone = more money for manufacturers.
I have no idea where this industry is heading, but until I see another breakthrough phone tech coming out, ill keep my money.
If you want a new phone without breaking the bank alcatel idol 3 and the asus zenfone 2 are GREAT options, I was going to pick one up before I fixed my s4.
With all or most of devs bailing out of the s4 you can forget about maintained roms.
Two newer phones have released since the s4, S5 and S6 so wherever is in development is all your going to find.
Your best bet is rooted stock, that's what I run, and phone works all the time, never have to post in development because of force closing, no sound, no rotation. No messaging or whatever.
Do you see where I'm going here.

This is latest firmware NK2.

Thanks, I'm running stock NK2, and am looking at a "cleaned-up" (if I can call it that) version of it in the forums, seeing which dev has good feedback on their efforts with the stock ROM.

Once rooted you can do your own cleanup, that's what I did.
Using Rom toolbox I deleted all the junk apps from tmobile and Samsung. I have two pages in my app drawer with just the stuff I need.

MD 1.3 is a great TW ROM. The developer is very responsive, and the ROM is rock stable with great battery.
Find it in the T-Mobile forum.

To ask a question like that ? Move this thread to appropriate section.
Just wait and see it's still VERY early days. Be thankful we even have Lollipop, though still much needs to be done on that front. Patients my friend. Also try to stick to XDA law and procedures. If it happens it will be down to devs and not cries from ourselves.

Get a more known/popular/used device and you won't have that problem. You can't expect serious developers and professionals to have mid-low end devices, they don't own them so they can't develop for them. With unsupported devices like yours it leaves you with 3 choices.
1) learn to modify or develop your own ROMs
2) donate a device with the same model number as yours to a developer willng to develop for it, they have to have the actual device to do the work.
3) Retire your device and get a newer more supported model.
