WANTED: EMS pulse app - Moto 360

I used to be a Pebble user and there was an app I used a lot called Pebble Pulse that you used to take someone's pulse. You pushed a button, counted 10 beats and pushed it again and it would tell you the person's pulse. I can't find anything like it for Android Wear.

What android wear device are you using?

Moto 360

I have this pretty much done just need to figure out how to make it an installable apk for a wear device and then I will post it. Stand by!
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app

Awesome!!! You rock

Well that was a pain in the arse to publish. Took me way longer to publish than to write the darn thing. Here's a link to the apk:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2zqrXJ0FV50WE0zWjFIcjItTE0/view?usp=sharing
Basically just tap the screen to start, count 10 beats, tap again.
Make sure you have "unknown sources" checked on your phone to be able to install the apk. Let me know what you think. It is bare bones and I don't wan't to put it in the play store until I get your feedback. Do you think there is a demand for an app like this?
If after installing on your phone, the app doesn't show on your 360 for some reason, let me know.

Ok you rock, where do I donate?

EMS related apps are hard to find. I think it's an untapped genre

Awesome! Glad you like it! Any suggestions? I added a "Donate to me" button under my name on the left. Thanks!

It's simple, works great. It's fine for me. Others might like color controls or something I guess... Not sure

Btw, let me know when you get it in Google play. I'll be the first to review it

Were you ever going to put this on the Play Store?

doesn't uninstall!

Installs fine here. I've installed it on 4.4.2 and 5.0

What does it tell you when you try?

Btw, I use this app all the time! Thank you very much. It's very accurate also.

I as well, was a pebble user (also thank you for telling me about Pulse Timer) just got my LG Urbane and this app is the first app installed. The most useful medical app out there.
THANK YOU!!!

Ems Breaths timer?
Can the same exact thing for breaths per minute? The app can look exactly the same but instead of tapping after 10 heartbeats, you would tap after two breaths?

I don't think this app will work for that but it would be great to have heart rate on top and ventilations on bottom.
Sent from my LG-AS991 using Tapatalk

Hey guys! So sorry I missed all this. I thought I was subscribed to the thread, but I wasn't, so I never got emails for posts and this kinda fell by the wayside for me.
I would love to modify the app to do ventilation on bottom. I will work on it this weekend and will have it ready by next week. I do have my own developer account now (previously was just my work account), so once I get it done I will put this in the app store for all to download. I won't charge anything for it.
I'm very glad to hear this app is being used! It's really nice to know this is something that can be used to help someone in trouble, and that to me is the most rewarding thing.
I will update here once I have this ready to go.

ROFL that's epic.
I suggest getting and setting up "Llama", I LOVE that app! Switches your profiles based on whatever rules you set. IE It puts my phone in Quiet and enables WiFi when at the office M-F between certain times, goes into Car mode on the way to/from the office, back into quiet if i work at my night job based on if i'm in the area designated, then silent mode to sleep and launches Lightning Bug app to help wife and I sleep.
DesktopVizualizer is another sweet App to customize any icon
LauncherPro and Nova Launcher are GREAT
Dropbox and AwesomeDrop are other favorites to make life easier
Get some game emulators -N64oid, Genisoid, etc -can use PS3 and XBox360 controllers with USB OTG cable
Robin is a sweet "assistant" for car use with 100% hands free aside from swiping your hand above the phone to get "Robin's" attention
Ok after stumbling accross this post, I have managed to do absolutely nothing at all work related today. wifikill is awesome. After turning on my wifi and connecting to a network, wifikill showed 186 connections. Going down the line and dissabling one at a time is truly comical. You dont know who has what ip but looking around you see people going like wtf happened. Great find thanks

Does anyone have the Google Maps .apk from BEFORE they updated the layout?

The new Maps is very buggy and missing a lot of features i use. (not talkin about Latitude. i don't use that)

I dont have it off hand, but just download any rom older than a few weeks and extract it from system/app. Just make sure the play store isnt set to auto update your apps though
i've been running liquid smooth and it didn't come with maps apk in the rom, I had always downloaded it from the play store...
I would really like the apk for maps as well
Go to team blackout's website. They have an inverted version.

Fyi guys, someone around here said google released another update that fixed a lot of issues people had. Cant remember who or where, but figured I'd mention it.

I uninstalled it completely ..and refused the update. The new update was very buggy and seem to constantly send data back . But just the fact that a force feed us this version pissed me off . One of there main things Google did was removing Latitude (as of Aug. 1st ) . Which I used a lot to keep track of my kids and family, the technology is still there but can only be used on Google Hangout (very buggy). But who really knows why it is they do this things like this...Just buggy.
I have just reverted it on the desktop as well, such a relieve to have the old stuff back.... at least while they let us.
I came looking here to revert the phone apk (blackout is the easy way and awesome). Google messed up sooo bad on this one. Like I search for a chain, and it shows me them one at a time with me having to swipe through them (in seemingly random order as some are up to 40mi away sandwiched in between others that are 2-4mi away, and the one that is only 0.7mi away is 10 swipes away). The old maps just shows you a map with YOU in the center and pins for the 10 results closest to you. When I am "on-the-go" why would I want to instead have the map of the first result you choose at random, which may or may not include my location, and then have to swipe through results while I mentally figure out where each one is in relation to me??? It is just ludicrous! The new maps may be great for casual browsing at home, but I use maps for location-based productivity, there are plenty of other apps for Where should I go / eat / buy. Make the new Maps for tablets and leave my phone and desktop Maps alone (or make them more productive, not less!!!)
Other examples of failure:
- I tell it to navigate somewhere and it shows me a full screen route-list, even if there is only one. Then, after I select that route I want, it shows me that route and I have to click Go before the navigation actually begins. The old version: I instantly get navigation and can choose alternate routes if I want. The new version is dangerous to use while driving. The old one is 100% hands free. WTF Google?
- You used to be able to use Google Now to say "Map of ..." or "Navigate to ..." which does not work correctly anymore.
Have you reported all of this to google?

I'd like to see that, but I doubt it. Likely they'll look at us and ask why we havn't updated our phones.
Really wanted to thank the folks on here who pulled the APK, Maps 7 just doesn't work at all on my EVO 3D, it flickers, the prompts are scrambled, it can only function in landscape mode... this is on top of the, slower, feature hidden, beauty update nonsense. So thanks again.
Dogan
I've played beta games with less bugs than this ****e.
I have the old Maps, and I've tried multiple copies of Google Now, but still when I say "Navigate to Target" it shows me Google results for that search instead of opening Navigation and auto routing to the nearest Target.
I really, really miss "Map of [...]" and "Navigate to [...]". I want to be able to do this from google now which is always one button away, not have to open the map program first, click search, then click mic, then say "Target", then click the nearest one, then click navigate. (at least it is not 4 more steps anymore like it was with the new maps)
Please, can someone figure out how to get this simple command working as it used to?
-------------------
Edit: Nevermind I guess... mine just started working again. I complained here and in one other thread, then I tried "Navigate to Texas" as I was going to post a screen shot of how that same search that worked for another didn't work for me, and to my surprise it worked. Now it is working every time just how it used to. Very strange. I swear it was not working for me from like 2 months ago until 30min ago. I'm just glad it is back.

[Q] Any way to "OK, Google" from any screen but Google Now?

I don't get the point of having the "OK, Google" if I can't use it on any screen except when I actually open Google Now. I was hugely let down by the lack of "always listening" but what is the point of having this if I need to open up a specific program just to set an alarm with my voice?
How do I "OK, Google. Set an alarm for 30 minutes" without actually opening up the god damn Google Now?
I am so disappointed in this lack of feature or my lack of knowledge.

Do a google search for the apk. You should be able to side load it.
You can then use ok google on the home screens, but still nowhere else.
You can download the Google now Launcher (googlehome.apk) from numerous threads here on xda, any gapps zip download for aosp, and many places on the internet. That's the only way to do it and you won't get BlinkFeed either :/ otherwise gotta deal with the home buttoness

As far as I'm aware, it could only be done with certain apps (like the mic+ app linked in the above post) or from installing the Google Now launcher. That means you won't be able to run Sense though so if you really want to carry on using Sense you'll need to use one of the aforementioned apps instead.
It's a shame that HTC didn't implement such a feature to be honest, especially considering they made it possible to use Ok Google commands once on the Google Now app. I guess it's officially limited to certain Nexus devices though.

Thank you for this. I tried installing it and messing with it in many ways, but it only recognizes my "Okay, Google" about 10% of the time (I tried both engines) and even when it does recognize my "Okay, Google" from a home screen it takes about 5-10 seconds for it to launch, thus by the time it launches I have either thought it failed since it took so long or I said "Okay, Google" 3 times already by the time it launches.
Thank you anyways, it just doesn’t work well with this phone maybe. Pretty disappointing since the processor it has is able to do always listening or at least home screen listening.

[Q] AT&T samsung galaxy note 4 ROOT/EXPOSED INSTALLER

While I was the first one in my town, AT&T my local store to get my NOTE 4, a root isn't available for this awesome phone YET. What are you doing in the meantime to customize your device? No xposed Installer, no rooted apps... What is it that you've done to make up for what we don't have? And how have you done it? If you know root, then you know what we are missing and what we want. How have you done up your phone? Let me and the rest of us know what you've done, and how you done it...... Also, let us know if you're wanting the root or not. I want the root badly... Oh so badly....
Not doing much to customize it yet, I'll wait for towelroot or one of the other kits and a custom Rom before I do much. Must say, this is probably the only phone I've had that customizing isn't a high priority, best phone I've ever had and custom will just make it better.

Found a pretty awesome app for switching hardware keys ie. The back an recent app buttons for us left hand people. "all in one gestures" in the play store. NO ROOT needed!
It's a free app, it also has gestures for many custom setups. I have my back button set up as a left to right swipe on the side of the screen. Makes one handed use easier for sure.
Also you can change the long press actions of your hardware keys.

The best icon sets I believe are the best for me. I have custom set ups left and right. I'm needing root so badly. I love APPOPPCOMMAND,or whatever it's called. I love to root all my devices. I know the note 4 is great, I do. But rooting it makes it that much better. Keys so hope bounty-gate solves this for us. I'm chipping i some loot for sure. Regular customization is OK and all, but the rooting is where it's at for me. And a whole lot more of you all out there want it too. Please root. I have 30 shirts being made up right now, saying, got root? Galaxy note 4 needs you. (front) then on the back it says xposed Installer made me do it

You're right he never worked for "us". What I meant was, he wanted us the people to have free reign over our phones. He did it for us. I never known he came and did it for bounty.... Did he? Let's get it done then. I'm going to personally put up 100 into the bounty loot bin. Let's get him or chainfire working on it. I know this, nothing is going to happen until after lollipop comes out. No one is dropping a root opener when you, us, we could all lose it after the update. That's the truth. I want root so bad I can and will eat my old note 3 to get it

I agree. That was the first launcher that I got for my phone.
I'm a fan of apex

Found a pretty awesome app for switching hardware keys ie. The back an recent app buttons for us left hand people. "all in one gestures" in the play store. NO ROOT needed!
It's a free app, it also has gestures for many custom setups. I have my back button set up as a left to right swipe on the side of the screen. Makes one handed use easier for sure.
Also you can change the long press actions of your hardware keys.

A launcher isn't what I want root for. If it is all you want it for, then do launchers. For me, it's so much more than that. Its the file system changing, its writing to files, its changing the boot log. It Is changing and stopping what starts up during boot. Its taking away permission that apps have to my phone. It is way more than customizing. Its changing the phone and how it works. That's what I want root for. Not just for changing the layout in my phone. Nova, apex, go launcher EX, next, tsf, i have them all.. The full paid versions. I have every launcher except for the stupid ones. I have literally 95% of them all. I have the guesture things and all those. I want root and I just been with at&t for too long to stitch it up. It is ducked up and I hate it without root. I hated the iPhone without jailbreak and I love the note 3 and 4 but I need root to really make it right
I just want root to get rid of the AT&T jingle and globe during boot.

Want My Phone to Alert Me if I Leave My Watch Behind

I'm currently using the app Wear Aware to alert me on my watch if I leave my phone behind. I'd also like the opposite... I want my phone to alert me if I leave my watch behind but I think this is beyond wear's scope. Anybody know of an app that can do this?
Thanks!

I feel like a simple tasker profile that warns you when the phone is out of bluetooth range of the watch would suffice.

You're probably right... I guess I could look into this but seems like this would be something that someone has already created an app for.

Maybe? But having a bunch of apps running in the background seems less efficient than having one doing a bunch of things, if you use Tasker for anything else.
I'm with you on the inefficiency thing. I did try with tasker and it seems like I got it half working some of the time. Rather than continue to troubleshoot I just started downloading a bunch of wear compatible find phone apps. I ended up finding one that has the functionality I'm looking for. I loved the simplicity of Wear Aware but now I'm using "Find My Phone" (nice name, right?) by Nick Apps link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nickapps.wear.findmyphone&hl=en. In order to get the exact setup I wanted I think I had to pay $2 but so far so good. Thanks for your help.
