[Q] NFC tags - ONE Accessories

Does anyone have buy from ebay or amazon cheap working NFC tags for our phone?
I brought these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191278074360 but they doesn't work in our phone (I test them in a Xperia Z1c)

What price fits in your definition of "cheap"?

Well more or less the same price of these I bought. Even double is ok. I don't have knowledge regarding the prices for good nfc tags

Accessories
I have an HTC Touch P3450 Elfin for the past 14 months and recently I purchased some accessories from ebay.in . All you need to do is search for HTC on ebay and you'll get mamny products. I bought the following
(a) My hands free kit had become unresponsive, so I bought a HTC HS U110 -3.5mm AUDIO ADAPTER CABLE WITH EARPHONE for Rs 475.00. Its cool.... its actually a micro USB to 3.5mm Adaptor, so you can use ANY headphone available in the market. You can also attend calls while listening to your music!! (Seller - trendy_bazer)
(b) I got a nice leather case with racheted holster for Rs 790.00. Search for Case Mate Case Holster Combo - Black for HTC Touch on ebay. Its nice. The seeler also sent a Protective Screen Guard with it (which itself costs about Rs 130 on ebay). How nice of him. (Seller - pareshwins)
(c) CAR CHARGER FOR HTC TOUCH for Rs 199.00. Normally you get this kind of stuff for 800 - 1000 in Mumbai. (Seller - trendy_bazer)
(d) Universal Car Mount Holder with photo frame for Rs 190.00. This gets fixed on my car windshiled and can hold the phone (with or without the Case Mate Case) securely. (Seller - trendy_bazer)
But GUYS.... I have badly scratched my screen and I desperately need a new one. Is that thing called a digitizer? Where can I get one? I saw the price of a digitizer somewhere as $10.70.... which means it should be available for about Rs 500? Can it be changed by a non geek like me? Someone was asking for a white casing. Say what.... I think a while casing will also look good. Anyone any idea where to knock doors?
By the way, thnks to this forum, I have Onyx WM6.5 ROM loaded on my (originally WM6.0) phone and lots of cool apps. Thanks xda-developers.
^^gr8 accessory list m8..I am yet to get all these..will be needing a pouch, car charger and mount holder..will right away move to ebay and look for it.
Congrats on ur WM6.5..can u also list the cool apps u hv installed in ur elfin?
^^ Well I have the Onyx 5 Final WM6.5 ROM like you and other apps like Email Scheduler, WorldMate Live, WMM Notes, Auto Call Record, CHome Editor, OneNote Mobile and Powerpoint Mobile, Kevtris2 (Game), S2P MediaPlayer, Bing Search, Currency Convertor, Skype, Facebook, Windows Live and Messenger..... And ah yes, I recently installed the Titanium Shadow Neo skin and added Taskanium, CComm and CMultiClock to it.
One accessory I forgot earlier. I use a Jabra BT125 which I bought for some Rs 1400 from The Mobile Store. Works like a song with my Elfin.
^^most of the appz u hv seems to be utilities..anyways..gud coll.
One more accessory in my list..
Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC Class 4 from eBay
I buy most of my accessories from ebay.com. There are many chinese sellers who sell stuff for cheap. Many ship to india too
I got a Motorala S9 Bluetooth Headset for $30. 8Gb SDHC card for $35, 10 Protective Screen Guard for $1. Bluetooth GPS receiver for $40
is the chinese sellers selling the original goods or fake ones???
Most chinese sell OEM stuff. Also look for their rating and uy from trusted sellers. I have not had a problem with any of my accessories i have brought till now. I have been using it for past 6 months
m8..can u share the stuffs u hv bought frm them and also the sellers name..so we can trust them since u r satisfied..

I have some questions about buying from foreign sellers on ebay. How do you pay them? Is payment directly through credit card or only after transfering funds to your PayPal account? How do you find out the shipping cost to India? Will it not be the case that the shipping cost is sometimes more than the value of the item itself? What about govt imposed import duties, VAT etc? All sellers say on their pages that payment of these taxes is the responsibility of the buyer. So do we pay this or just keep quiet?
I desperately need a digitizer for my Elf. I have royally scratched the original one. And Hong Kong sellers on ebay seem to be the only answer. Local HTC service stations quote a price of Rs 5000 for just changing the digitizer.
whoa..whoa..hw many queries...computernerd come to our rescue!!!
Mostly I search for sellers who have a good rating. Also While bidding i always keep in mind shipping costs and approx rate in india. I have mostly found shipping costs to be geniune, not very high
Some items I have brought the are
Item :Scratch Gaurd
Qty : 10 Pieces
Rate : $0.99
Seller : imode_technology_hit
Item : Motorola S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headset Headphone Earphone
Rate : $31
Seller : king-shiny
Shipping : Free
Item : Bluetooth GPS Receiver For Laptop PDA Mobile Phone
Rate : $41
Seller : king-shiny
Shipping : Free
Item : #S8T1 8GB SANDISK MICRO SD HC 8G FIT NOKIA N95 N76 E90
Rate : $ 22
Seller : Donot Remember
Shipping $ 12
There have been instances about 10% when I have not received items from the sellers, but i have been fortunate that the ebay dispute has been resolved in my favor and the money has been refunded to my account
Regarding the payment, I use PayPal. I have added my Indian credit card into PayPal.
Till now i have not paid any Indian taxes. MOst of my purchases have been lesser that $100
Thanks, computernerd. That answers most of my queries. I think I will get that digitizer soon. Reason why I was asking about taxes is that I am eyeing a camera lens which is cheaper by Rs 12,000 on ebay at singapore than on ebay.in
gr8 goin..gr8 xplanation..keep it flowin
the digitiser can be changed urself if ur game for taking apart ur phone. I just got my digitiser changed last week i bought it from hira panna in mumbai and fit it myself, lots of instructions available on the net. Shopping from ebay us or uk is very easy all you need is a pay pal account. most accessories from china are indeed knock offs, but they work well for the prices they charge.
How much did the Digitizer cost at Heera Panna? Does it come with tools required to change it? Are Front and Back Covers etc (in different colours)also available there?

Buying Xperia SmartTags or something similar for GNex

hello,
I own a GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus (4.0.4) and I would like to buy a couple of NFC tags. I would like to use them to change settings when I enter my car and before I sleep .. etc. Looking at the available options, I really disliked the adhesive tags and preferred something like the Xperia SmartTags. My question is:
- If I purchase Xperia SmartTags, will they work properly with my Galaxy Nexus?
- Are there any available alternatives that are similar to Xperia SmartTags in design (being a key chain, not the colors) but cheaper?
- If I'm located in Denver, Colorado in the USA. Where is the best place that I can get them?
Thank a lot.
Samsung released their own sets of NFC tags, TecTiles: http://www.samsung.com/us/microsite/tectile/
The TecTiles are indeed awesome. I bought a pack after picking up my GS3. I was playing around with it, and it also works for the GS2, so I guess as long as you have a NFC chip in your phone/battery, this will work. I already put one in the car to turn on/off bt options for when I enter the car
TecTiles are overpriced. They cost 3x as much as generic tags.

I just bought some smart tags from ebay for gs3. Looking forward to trying them out. I bought the smart tags because I like how you can place them on your key chain. They seem to be more sturdy than others. I'll report back once I get them and program them.

Replacement battery (Original with NFC)

Hi!
I was wondering where I could buy even more batteries for my Galaxy S3.
I did find a battery on ebay for $7 (going to buy 3 or more), but was wondering where I could get it cheaper with free shipping.
I doubt it, but would like to check this forum first
Link on ebay for $7:

Thanks on beforehand,

That is really cheap. I also am going to guess that it is not full on OEM. The one I ordered was a little different. It said Samsung, but it wasn't. I haven't tried NFC yet.

As far as I can see, the battery doesn't have NFC included in that battery. I think the original battery with NFC cost about $30 if I'm not totally wrong?

I can't see ebay links at work. I was just guessing you were buying from someone like who I purchased from. If it is OEM it has to have NFC. I would go with Anker if I didn't want NFC. They make the best Non-OEM batteries that I've used, although I've heard good things from Hyperion too.
Avoid fake chinese crap
I'm looking for a real samsung battery too, but I wouldn't trust any seller on ebay claiming them to be genuine. Most are from china, and I'd have to guess 99.9% of those would be copies. Amazon lists one as genuine for $25, which sounds about right. but again, I have no clue. Personally I'd like to see and buy one in a local B&M store. unless I knew for a fact I'd be buying a real samsung battery.
I tried a "4200mah" chinese battery, twice as thick, new bigger battery door, etc... CRAP CRAP CRAP. Doesn't even last AS LONG as the factory 2100mah thin battery :crying: JUNK JUNK JUNK.
Today I got 3 batteries from ebay - bought for a very cheap price, less than 15$ in total.
The battery didn't fit properly, I found it hard to get the battery back out. It also said that the battery had NFC, but no.
Seems like it wasn't even Samsung battery, which I tought it was until I saw the label they'd glue to the battery, all the batteries also shared the same S/N: AA1C505BS/2-B.
I haven't been able to test out the actual battery lifetime on the cheap batteries, since I won't be using them anyway because I wan't NFC capabilities.
Stay away from cheap batteries, best way to get a quality product is to actually put some more bucks into the product. Get the "real thing" that works the way it's supposed to do.

[Q] NFC

Hey guys. Can someone direct me to the best place to buy NFC tags? I want ones that can hold the most data for the lowest price, and I would like them to also be a little sturdy, unlike some of the sticker NFC tags. Also, what is the best application to program these? Make sure these all work with the Galaxy Nexus (LTE). Thanks
I got mine from here: http://tagsfordroid.com
They are great. The keychain is very handy for my car setup.

For some reason, I bought my tagsfordroid NFC tags from Amazon instead of directly from them... both were the same price, both had free shipping. At any rate, the keychain alone was worth the price of the entire package. I have mine set as an "escape" function that someone else here posted. Basically, I keep the keychain in my pocket, and if I wave my phone over my pocket, it will trigger the tag, send a text message to the website ifttt.com, which will trigger a phone call to my phone that says "You need to come home now, it's an emergency, it's bad!"
So if I am ever in need of an escape, like a bad date, I have an escape, lol!
hhaha thats such a good idea

[Q] Where to get the NFC Antenna?

Hi,
I have ordered a decent looking extended battery, (I know the battery life of the 7100 is much better than the 7000, but I like a fat case) but of course the back has no NFC antenna. I bought the cheapest case with a NFC antenna, hoping for a successful transplantation.
But, are those NFC antenna's on their own for sale somewhere? Looked at eBay but no luck until now....
thanks for listening,
I'd like to buy one (or two) also. There are some nice, inexpensive covers available without NFC ability, and I have 2 of them. They have the place marked out but not antenna.
Sooner or later someone's gotta make these available...right?
In fact, some companies like Sunshine Good Electronics and Pulse have specialized in the manufacturing of NFC antenna for mobiles. However, they all want to deal with those guys that buy the goods in wholesome so that information about the NFC antenna are only provided in B2B websites. Maybe you shall wait, one day someone will sell the goods for retail.
Thanks, I bought one on eBay
