I find the concept very interesting as once it loaded to the phone anyone with ok HTML knowledge would be able to change and tweek bits.
however i think the ui is always going to be limited, and is aimed at very basic phones at the moment (although the demoed an s2 running it) and is due to be launched in south america first.

Many people are joining xda on daily basis. Some of them join the forum to get custom ROMs while some join in order to get some of their problem that they are facing with their phones solved.
There are dedicated threads for ROMs but what about HELP/QUESTIONS??
People generally straight away start a new thread to get their doubts solved. But this can lead to chaos in the forum.
I'm creating this thread as an alternative to *New Threads* that aim to resolve a question.
Not only this, this thread can also become a Database kind of place where people can look if their question is already solved or not...
I request all members of the ASUS ZENFONE ZOOM sub-forum to help and answer some questions posted here if they can.
I hope you guys get the idea behind this thread...

Was inspecting my box of my Zoom again when I noticed the CN at the end of the model name. However my Zoom came with the WW rom out of the box (sealed). Anyone else had the same thing?
Found out another issue. Running a software version from Nov. Tried to update (via SD or internal storage) to the newest version (tried both WW and CN) but not working.
Checked some of the Zenfone 2 threads for solutions but so far haven't gotten it to work. It won't go in to recovery mode.

You better visit a service centre or contact customer care atleast once regarding this issue..

Seeing how there is no android development threads yet, is there possible community support for this phone going forward? Such as Cyanogenmod? Also do you think there is a possible zenfone zoom 2 in the works?

Since it's basically a Zenfone 2 with better camera, you can have a look in the Zenfone 2 forum. Some tutorials there also work for the Zoom (ZX55ML).
Don't think we will see a new model soon because the current one only was release dec 2015 / jan 2016.

Hello everyone,
i bought an Asus Zoom with CN Firmware from tradingshenzhen.com 4 weeks ago.
I installed the Google Apps and switched to German Language and Keyboard. Everything works fine and
the pics are very good.
But sometimes it loses the connection to my mobil provider Swisscom. (I live and work in Switzerland).
Is this a bug or a feature ? Is this an error from the CN firmware Version CN_V2.26.40.83 ?
I have no longer 4G or 3G.
Can i switch to the WW_V2.26.40.82 For WW SKU only ? WW means Worldwide? Or what stands WW for?
Do i have to root the device first?
Please excuse my english, it is long time ago, that i have to write complex question in an american/english forum

I just bought ASUS ZENFONE 2 551ML , its nice but one thing making me crazy that for whatsapp it keep asking the permission to READ CONTACT but not accepting DENY or ALLOW or DONT SHOW again.
I dont know how to manage that.

You need to update firmware... The latest is WW_2.17.40.12...
Hello guys anybody can help me? my front camera Zenfone 2 not installed, no icon/ button to change front camera. If I open Mirror application there is warning " reminder mirror application need to use front camera". What must I do for this case. May be member of xda have application mirror for zenfone 2? please help me. Sorry if my english is bad
Please follow the troubleshooting steps provided in ASUS ZenUI app called ASUS support/Assistance/Camera/select "Can't launch camera'
If still unable to detect camera then it may be a hardware related issue and will require sending in for warranty service.
