[Q] HTC Desire make problems when connected to WiFi - HTC Desire 300

Situation is that my brother have HTC Desire (310?) and when he connect to WiFi, internet stop working.
Does anyone know what could be a problem? Maybe virus on mobile or what?

Still have same problem, don't know to fix it, so I am going to try to change the antenna of the router. :fingers-crossed:

wifi problem 2.3.3

Regards
I have a problem with wifi after I put update on 2.3.3
whether it can solve this problem with wifi.
I always shoot and it turns the wifi network.
be a good wifi network signal then disappears
Same problem here
This is a very serious problem. Get ur act together HTC, this is just unacceptable!
Are you rooted? HTC raised the signal strength at which the connection would be dropped, there is a fix if you are rooted, otheewise you are stucm and will have to wait for HTC to correct this.
Sent from my Desire HD
Have you tried another radio? of course be careful if you do change it
same issue, though htc say that its a "new feature" to provide a seamless mobile broadband experience by automatically chosing the strongest signal. whatever you say htc
i just disable mobile data at home, so it cant jump back to 3g and stays on wifi. the annoying thing with this is that i forget to enable mobile data when leaving the house.
i hope they sort it out, and that this new feature isn't rolled out across their other products
I am having the same problem. At work, my wifi connection is weak, but was always functional. Now, I cannot connect to my work wifi. On top of that, my battery drains twice as fast on my phone, and I'm thinking that it's due to the phone always scanning and trying to connect to the wifi signal. If it's true that HTC changed the level at which the wifi signal is dropped, this was a terrible decision.

I think this may answer/point to the problem I'm having since installing the Gingerbread RUU. I use the quick settings app from the market and pre-gingerbread it used to switch between wi-fi/mobile pretty seemlessly, turning off the unused option. Now if there's no wi-fi connection that option seems to stay on (probably searching) while it's connected to mobile data. As above, my battery is draining like a sieve.

Same problem for me with Original Rom.
so i tried the Revoloution HD 5.1.4 and same problem again!
Hi guys until HTC release an OTA fix (that's if they do) the only way to resolve this is to root and then try some different ROM and radio combinations until you find one that works for you.
I find the ROM and radio from my signature work really well on WiFi but if you are going to do this make sure and root, gain S-OFF and ENG S-OFF. Also make sure you have the correct RIL for the ROM and radio that you are using
There are lots of threads on the dev section that guide you through this.
Wifi connecting
I have a similar problem with wifi connection. Only it doesn't disconnect during a connection but when establishing a wifi connection it takes much longer than it used to on Froyo. Anyone else noticed this?
i have problem too with wifi
I really hope htc has stopped the updates and resumes with a new build with the wifi problem fixed
The issue is with the Gingerbread Sense ROMs.

WiFi problems with routers
Hi there,
Same problem here. Both my WiFi router and phone say signal and reception quality are perfect and connection it stable, but data won't flow.
I'm having this problem with my Speedtouch (WEP key) router at home, whereas a Sitecom router at the office works fine (WPA etc. key).
Tried some work arounds, without success
Regards
***EDIT***
I can add that it has nothing to do with the reported threshold of -88dB signal strength. As I checked that with the *#*#4636#*#* option and both higher and lower values of the WiFi reception don't make any difference. The problem persists.
***EDIT v2***
The suggestion posted elsewhere to change from WEP to WPA didn't work out either
***EDIT v3***
Reverted back to ARHD 3.7 and WiFi is running fine again .
Hope some fix will be found soon!
Regards,
Is there any solution. I am trying to downgrade the radio but no chance.
If I use LeeDroid or Revolution will this same problem be there?

Wildfire S WiFi problem!

I can't seem to connect to my home network on the Wildfire S.
When I turn WiFi on, it shows my home network but I can't connect to it.
I tap 'connect', the window closes, and that's it. WiFi keeps showing 'scanning'.
I'm in India and I'm using a Belkin router.

Resatrt Your phone and restart your router. If the problem still persists then factory reset your phone.
A friend owns a Wildfire S and says that in his home router, getting out of the room where thw router is, Wildfire loses it's signal! Is it common in W S devices?
Could it be the firmware or a bad router?

Depends, what kind of walls does he have, and doors... do other phones/devices get the signal from the same place ? ...
If no other devices get signal at same place, it's router ?
Otherwise .... well, we will see after you answer

Try using the libril.so file from the latest HTC Stock that you upgraded the radio too. Rename and replace the original libril.so in your CM7x /Sytem/Lib/ folder give the HTC libril.so the same permissions and reboot.
There is a thread on it by me in the general index thread.
Solved by following this thread
I had a similar problem after having flashed an unofficial CM 10.1 on my HTC Wildfire S
Solved it by following the easy steps here

[Q] HTC One X throws wi-fi network offline

Have a strange problem with my HTC One X:
When I turn on the wifi on my HOX to connect to my homenetwork, the phone throws my network offline, meaning I dont have any internet access on any other device on my network. When I break the connection with my network on my phone, my network comes online in a matter of seconds... Funny thing is that my wife has the same phone as I and with hers everything works as it should be.
Already have send my phone back to HTC, but got it returned today and still gives the same problems?
Anybody experienced the same problem, or anybody any ideas how to solve this?
Thanx
i have exact the same issue, i tried everything you can imagine but no luck so far. I believe it has nothing to do with the settings of my router etc but that its related to the way the HOX handles the connection. Its sooo random sometimes I have internet but no market, sometimes the other way around. and randomly it just kills my whole wifi network soo my laptops etc are disconnected and i can't reconnect untill i reset the router. As a system administrator i just cant accept it! there is no explanation for this!
But i won't give up untill i fixed this problem, even if it means i have to go through another week of sleepless nights! Using a different router IS NOT an option!
Have you tried setting up a MAC address filter on your router? So DHCP will always give you a specific ip address for your phone? Does that still kick everything else off your network?
Very strange that your wife's identical phone doesn't cause it.

I have tried everything. Changed settings in the router, given a fixed ip address to the HOX, changed the router, put an extra router in my network, tried the neighbours router, it doesnt matter what I do, everytime it throws my network offline.
Before I send it to HTC we established it could be a hardware problem, but when I got it back yesterday, all they have done was updated the software on the phone. When I compared the software version to the other HOX phone, its exactly the same, so all they must have done is the OTA from a couple of weeks ago..
Waiting for a reply from HTC..
I have the same problem. Router is Netcomm 11n. Only plays up on that router. I finally brought a network extender, and connect to that and have had no problems since.
