All the connections are correct....and the phone comes on just the display backlight not coming on.
The funny thing is that when am in a well lighted room or i shine a light on it, i can see that the phone is on an i can access my apps.

make sure that all 4 ribbons in the lg motherboard is properly connected, check if some pins are dent or bended. if all seems to be good, the problem is the backlight of your replaced screen

Make sure there is nothing covering the proximity sensor!

Back light not working on Xperia play, what do i need to change?

I just traded my mini pro for a Xperia play with no back light working and sd card not reading. Ive dismantled all of the play and put it all back together and still the same problem and i have also used SEUS to reflash the software and still no back-light. You can see the play is on, its just really hard to see and i can receive calls. Im hoping to fix this for my my girl friend as i already have one.
My main concern is the back light and then the sd i think lol also the green light comes on when charging
So do i need a new screen or can i just change a part?
Thanks
Is the screen light built in to the screen? Or could it be the proximity sensor is broke any one please
Also if I open the game pad a little bit the screen works and fully open didn't work.

Possibly a damaged ribbon cable?
That's what I think but the ribbon that connects to the screen and the keyboard is hard to get to, the only side I can get to is the side that connects to the keyboard, there's a video on YouTube but didn't show you how to take your digitizer or get the ribbon out completely.

The digitizer is not attached to the LCD and comes off with the frame. The cable goes under the LCD module and I've seen it for sale but I'm not sure if it's meant to detach from the other end. If it has a short or something, It's likely where it connects to the bottom half or where it folds anyway. Have you taken it apart and taken a look at the folding cable?
i also have the same problem.
my lcd light are off.
but my touchscreen(lcd) still working, i can make call receive call, open app and other.
but the light too dim. hardly to see anything that i click/touch on the lcd.
plssss help me out.
does i need to change the lcd? or other parts of the phone?
and where is the light on the lcd btw?
i already flash my phone. so i dont think it is software problem.
i have the same problem but have no light at all, screen self is responsive if im touching it but no backlight
please help
Solve myselft, my problem is hardware coz i flash my xperia play and it doesnt work either, so i send to shop to repair and it done, the prob could be ribbon n lcd, mine was ribbon

which cable?
which cable do you mean? the flex cable that goes with the slide up and down or something else on the digitizer?
as an idiot i changed the lcd but of course nothing works.. still no backlight...

Display stay white after touch screen substitution

Hallo to all!
i've already tryied to search this topic in all the forum, but didn't find anything...pls tell me if something similar already exists!
so my problem: i have a touch pro 2 (RHOD100), and the last week i broke the touch screen (due to accidental heavy pression on it)...all works, but no TS function...
so (here starts my trouble) i decide to change by myself...i bought a new one (only TS) on ebay and make the change....
no problem with the hardware change, but now my display stay white...
some consideration:
- OS start with no problem (start sound and button sound)
- all flats are plugged correctly (checked many times)
- the backlight of the lcd works well (low light after some time)
some help? maybe i forget something important?
thanks a lot in advance to any helpers!!

When you changed the touch screen did you remove the flex cable that connects the upper half of the phone to the motherboard? Are you sure you didn't break the LCD screen itself?
hallo,
yes i remove the flat, and plug back again where changed - when i press on the TS (with white screen) i can ear the "tap"
i cannot be sure, but it light on...i think is enought...or not?
thanks for you're help!

It looks like like either the flex cable got damaged or it's not plugged right. It could also be the LCD flex, where lcd plugs into the small connectors under the four buttons at the bottom of the touch screen not being connected properly. Did you lift the small levers where the flex cables go into the mother board or where the lcd/touch screen gets plugged in or did you just push them in?
i lift the lever where pull out the flex, and pull it down when restore the connection... and i'm almost sure about connection, also because them are so "stricted" in the plug himself...
but i find really strange that the lcd is on (completely white), you don't think so?
also if it is damaged, should be not white...or maybe, as you say, a flat problem?
this evening i will re-open it for a check...i don't know what else do...
maybe i will try to buy a complete kit (TS+lcd)...
i will surely let you know

The screen being white, means it's receiving power but not video signal. There coud be different reasons for that. It happened to me couple of times. What I did was lift the connector lever, pull the flex connector out (where it connects to the motherboard) just a tiny bit and secure the connector with the lever and it worked. If the flex cable is going bad it could be that just one line or two are going bad not the whole thing, thus still delivering power but not video signal.
If your problem is with the flex buying a new screen/digitizer will not fix it. When you screen is white does it go out if you slide out the keyboard?
hallo,
sorry for late answer,
i make some test with flat, but the result is the same...
the screen always stay white, but i can ear the start sound, the pression sound, etc...so it seems it's just the lcd...
maybe i can try to buy a complete set lcd+ts?
thanks for answer

I could be wrong, but I think it's the flex cable that is bad not the LCD screen itself. The flex cable has several small thin lines, what is happening is the power is getting to the LCD screen but the video signal is not, so most probably one of teh video signal lines is broken.

[Q] Sprint LG G2 - No Backlight !!

Hi There,
I bought a Spring LG G2 LS980 on ebay with an non-working backlight with cracked screen. At the moment, I thought that the screen was broken beyond the LCD and that replacing the Screen, LCD and Backlight it would work. So I bought a new screen and replaced it like any other G2, but now the phone turns on and sounds tell me the phone is working and responding to my touch, but I can't see anything! The status LED is my only indication if the phone is off, booting, on or charging. Is this a software issue or am I gonna have to replace more chips? Thanks,
Sincerely,
Sohaib
EDIT: So i did some testing around, and it seems like the flex assembly with the power buttons gets super hot when the phone is supposed to be on. When I press on the lower right contact between the screen and the assembly, the backlight flashes for a moment, so it looks like the connector is damaged. It is a hardware issue. Thanks,
-Sohaib

[Q] Note 7100 screen display problem

Dear Sirs
I hope that I can solve my problem here ,
Today , I tried to disassemble my mobile N7100 in order to fix my weak wifi signal .
I found a way to strengthen the signal through attaching a simple wire to the wifi pin , I cleaned the board using a toothbrush
after reassembling the device , I noticed that the screen was very faint , very white and I noticed some horizontal lines when starting up the device ;
although the screen touch still worked perfectly , but the display is so white or bright .
I have reassembled the device many times without any success , what should I do ?
Thanks in advance for your help ?

are you sure the wire is not pressing the screen from the back?
Make sure there is no force applied to any part of the screen.
provide a photo
For me it seems that you damaged the screen or flex cable

try to reattach flex cable on mainboard and you can try to squeeze lcd gently to see if something is changing, but most likely your lcd is faulty.

I have tried to reattach the Flex cable , noting change , squeezing the lcd Have no effect on the screen , it seems like the problem from the main board , I'm afraid that the problem comes out when I used the toothbrush
Any other ideas ?
there is no other solution. Damaged lcd can't be repaired. You either live with it or replace it.

LG G3 - Phone is on, screen stays black

Hi all,
I have an LG G3 which was working fine but now the screen will not turn on, I know the phone is still working because I can hear the interactions with the phone.
Is there anyway to fix this issue? I have had the screen replaced before and I would prefer to not need to replace it again.
Sometimes is not the screen itself but the connectors on the main board, you may tear down the phone and check those out, clean them with rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't help it may be a motherboard issue
