[Q] How do I get the phone early? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

The only reason I decided to upgrade instead of holding off for later phones was the Netflix deal. However, there are only 92,000 submissions for it allowed, and with so many in circulation already, I need it quickly. I got the tracking number (chose overnight shipping, may have been a waste if I can't get it early) and UPS says scheduled for today, but only that the order has been processed. I got a text from T-Mobile saying "For all pre-orders your tracking number will not be visible on UPS.com prior to launch date", although I can already view it. Was I too late to the party? This is what T-Mobile says but if the text was right, I'll just cancel the order and hopefully be able to use my Jump later.

I ordered mine on Sunday and got it delivered yesterday. If UPS.com says it's on its way, it is.

I'll just hope for the best and assume UPS isn't updating the tracker. T-Mo finally sent a shipped email a couple minutes ago. So much conflicting information. I just want my Edge!

I was in the same boat. All the info that T-mobile was giving me suggested the phone had already shipped, but no tracking number was given. I went to UPS.com and signed up for MY CHOICE and they gave me all the details for my order, even and approximate delivery time instead of their 8 hour window.

T mobile no stock till next week at earliest 7/4

even though i ordered mine last week -- there is no more t mobile stock, if you have not got the "winging email" you will NOT be getting your desire. they have run out.
they cannot even give a firm date for stock. estimate 7th april to them.
so even though the confirmation email that states 48 hours if you order before 5pm on a weekday is untrue. (i wish people would just tell the truth).
so sorry people but don't hold your breath.

I think it depends on whether you called them up as well, or not.
I put my order into the TMobile website on Friday morning (30th) at around 930am.
After reading on this forum about delays and no stock I then called them up Friday afternoon at approx 430pm - I was told that all the initial stock of 1400 (or 1600, I can't remember which) was gone, so I would not be receiving a phone the next day.
The sales agent then went on to tell me they were expecting another delivery of 500 that evening, and they would be sent to customers on Monday, to arrive Tuesday (1st). He then searched for my web-order and manually pushed it through to ensure I would get a phone from this 2nd batch. He then called back to confirm it would be sent out Monday and arrive between 8am-1pm Tues. I assume if I hadn't called then my order would've been dealt with chronologically along with all the other website orders.
I called again just now, querying why I had not had the "winging it's way to you" email, and was told that my order had been completed by their phone team, and they don't send those emails out. And my phone will definitely arrive tomorrow before 1pm
I feel a bit bad that I might have jumped the queue, but hey it's TMobile that decided to do that because I rang up chasing it, not me!
i have just called tmobile and placed an upgrade order with the loyalty team - they have them in stock for next day delivery and got a cracking deal as well!
I ordered mine Friday afternoon. It's just come now but i have to go back to work
Will leave it at home charging lol.
Just spoke to my business manger on Tmobile stock coming in on wednesday and mine is coming on thursday...happy days
I too have just ordered my Desire from T-Mobile!! Also said I should have it by Thursday, if not before...
For those that are interested, this was my second attempt at getting them to agree to matching the deals on mobilephonesdirect, so worth trying again if at first you do not succeed (thanks to whoever it was on these forums for suggesting I do that!).
For info (new customer) - 600min, 500 txt, £30/month 18 month contract, and they waived the £60 handset cost.
I am VERY excited!!!

I still don't understand how Tmobil is the sole shop to sell the Desire before 7th April in the whole world
Are HTC testing the Desire on a very limited market??

What numbers are people ringing to get through to living human beings?
I rang the help line (0845 412 5000) (also rang the sales line but I was neither an existing customer or someone looking to buy a new phone, I already ordered on the net so I hung up) and pressed the correct number for "in the process of ordering" and got told to put in my mobile number, which I don't have since my phone hasn't arrived!
It's my first time ordering from T-Mobile and they don't seem to have a "go straight to a live human being" option on their phone system, is my best bet just to ring sales and push the "new customer" button and then tell them my order is active already and I want some information?
Thanks for any responses

Cheers for that mate, hopefully that will include the exchange/returns stock
I just spoke to them on the sales number (i pressed * a couple of times and got put through eventually) and they said that they didn't know whether there would be another shipment on Wednesday although there should be one this week...
hmmm.. why are there never any straight answers.
I had the 'winging its way to you' email on Thursday.. nothing has arrived, so I called them today and was told it went out of stock after they sent the email - now he said they have no stock and that it's expected within 7 days.
No idea why the hell I got the email if it hadn't even left them though!
I'll have to wait and see if anything turns up!
carphone Warehouse
I've been waiting to pick one up instore from t mobile everyone is saying two weeks or they don't know. after searching i saw that is available on payasyou go on orange in carphone warehouse so i might pick one up tomorrow there phones are normally unlocked.
I ordered mine as an upgrade Friday afternoon and got it early Saturday morning.
It seems to me that everyone who has spoken to the actual sales team has had their order fast-tracked. So all of us who ordered online are getting put to the back of the queue. Just need to think of a way to make them want to fast-track you.

You know Layar has a layer for coffeeshops in A'dam? Quite handy.
well all I can say is I feel I was talking to an honest rep who assured me that there are none left and that they honestly do not know a firm date for future deliveries, this was after getting the usual runaround several reps
so if you get yours then great, but as I said I wouldnt hold my breath.

Pre-Order Back-Order question

Hi folks,
I pre-ordered my Lumia 900 phone on the friday, 10AM when my AT&T store opened. This is the first time I have ever pre-ordered anything from AT&T or any cell carrier.
I received an order notification email a little later thanking me for my order etc... and an update notification would occur when it ships.
A little more than 24 hours later I get an email notification saying "We are sorry, your item is on backorder and we will ship when the item is in stock".
I didnt give it much thought at the time assuming it was due to pre-order. However, I am hearing about outlets being out of stock etc... and started wondering about if that could actually be the case for AT&T. I did the online chat support and they said that it was not in stock and for sure on backorder and so sorry and gave me an 800 number to call for more details. I called the number and they said the same thing. The person clearly didnt understand what I was asking and didnt follow when I was saying it was pre-order and was this normal. Finally I asked for a supervisor and started getting "sir,... sir.. I can't hear you sir... pause and then more I can't hear you and she hung up.
So my question is this for those of you that have pre-ordered before... Could that really be the case? I go in on launch day and order in the store and am told I am the first one in my town as the stores had a bet going who would sell the first one and I was it and AT&T is already out of stock by my order?!?!?!
Their system is proabably telling their reps they are out of stock. The reality is they cannot ship it until it's officially launched. More than likely you will get notification when they ship it which would be one or two days before it's available in their stores.
on the other hand they may actually be out of stock ! Apparently this is one of the fastest selling phones on Amazon.com so it just might be AT&T have not ordered enough to meet demand. You can sure bet they have a panic order in with Nokia ! In either case you will definately receive one. It might not be right away. I would still go to store on launch day and snap one up. Worst case is you could cancel you order.
Too bad they are not ready though. They proabably had no clue just how successful this phone would be.
That is what I am expecting/hoping. I was hoping others who have pre-ordered could confirm they are in the same status to indicate this is the norm.
When you add the phone to your cart on Amazon it now gives you this message.
Please note that the item you just added to your cart is currently out of stock or has limited availability and may delay the shipment of your order. We will ship your enitre order once all items are back in stock. If you would like to select a different item, you can remove this item by opening your cart and clicking the 'Remove' button next to that item

quite a few have already, in a different thread. Look at the pre order thread
For what it's worth. If you go to the Nokia web site there is a countdown clock. The clock points to Friday, not Sunday.
Nokia has booked times square in new York city for a 7pm launch party on Friday.
Does this sound like the actions of a company that under estimated a launch.
The backorder notice is always there with a pre launch. The people you talk to at at&t cannot access pre order info. The system says, backordered so that's what they see. I can see them running out after3-4 days, but not after 1 day. Wager the people ordering on friday/saturday will get their phones on Friday for sure.
Another thing...if there was a risk of running out, all the reps would not have one. They would share...

[Q] For those who received theirs from AT&T

And you preordered using a DEBIT card (I don't care about credit card orders), did you actually get charged for the phone? They put a hold on my account for the $213 immediately on June 7th, but after a few days the hold fell off and I got the funds back. I received my device on 6/21, but I still haven't actually been charged yet. Spoke to a fewother people and they haven't either, so...
Who here HAS actually paid for their phone?
Also, it seems like my upgrade hasn't been used either. Anyone else still have their upgrade available?
Ugh, nevermind. They charged me today
Just received my phone this morning, still haven't been charged yet
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium

Got mine today, still not charged

Charged
Temp authorization immediately upon pre-order and it "posted" Friday (the day it was delivered). Now I'll be having fun trying to get credit to get down to the $199 promo I couldn't get originally due to some kinda BS with my contract renewal effective date(?!).
The reason why i was asking: They accidentally shipped me two phones, and while I saw a hold request for one of them, I wasn't charged when they shipped it to me on the 20th. Thought it was too good to be true, until they banged me out for $428 this morning.
Mine still says im eligible for an upgrade..
I didn't get charged till 24 hours after mine arrived.
Which was weird because i cancelled the order.
And the phone still arrived.
And I still got charged.
Sheesh.
CZ Eddie, that was my issue as well. I ordered on 6/6, and the rep processed the order on the wrong line. Called them back up shortly after midnight (so 6/7) and had them cancel and change it to the correct, main line. When the 20th rolled around, I received 2 tracking numbers, 2 phones, and the mistake order never actually used the upgrade.
I actually went back to an AT&T store and they told me NOT to return it, since an upgrade wasn't even pending. Told me I basically got the phone free & clear at that point.
i've been charged and it used my upgrade...
Full upgrade available: January 18, 2014
I got this e-mail from AT&T three days after I submitted my order:
Thank you for your recent purchase from www.att.com.
We want to let you know that AT&T experienced a system issue that caused your credit card
company to place multiple authorization holds on your account. This practice is used by banks to
hold the amount available until your bank settles the transaction with AT&T. We apologize for
this inconvenience and have taken steps to ensure this system issue has been corrected.
To express our apologies for our error, and in appreciation for your business, we are sending
your device(s) out to you for free.
We will send you a confirmation email as soon as your order ships, which should be within the
next 24-48 hours. After your order ships, you can check your order status online at

In order to expedite the release of the authorization holds on your account, please call us at

midnight (Eastern Time).

AT&T
I called the number just to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding. The rep confirmed that they were gonna give me the phones (two Galaxy S IIIs and one refurbed HTC Vivid) for free. He said I should have ordered five of the Galaxies.
Received my phone on Friday, they charged my card 3 times (holds) and now there is no charges...maybe i will get it for free also...:good:
I preordered on the 10th, received my phone on the 22nd, and I was charged on the 22nd. Upgrade used as well.

My Note II is backordered :(

I ordered it online on October 25, and today called ATT and they told me it's on back order. When will it ship? They don't know. Sounds familiar...
All the 3 phones in my plan are out of contract so I am free to choose any carrier. Been with ATT since 2004, a bit too long I guess.
So I am thinking of this: cancel my pre-order, and walk into BestBuy on Nov 9, and whoever has the Note II on the shelf will win the bid and become my next carrier.
Call them back... be extremely polite. If you get a script reader, just hangup and call back.
Eventually, you'll get a non-script person... Explain how this presents a hardship to you. Explain that you actually had to take a day off of work due to unreliable UPS/FedEx deliveries (or people stealing deliveries.. or whatever.) Chat with the customer service rep. Make them feel important.
Perhaps AT&T can give you a credit of $100 to help offset the time you are losing from work due to their error? (I'm not going to tell you how often this has worked for me.. )
Then, watch as your phone is delivered on the 9th anyway.
Oh, and they are all showing as "back-ordered" in their system until the moment they switch to "shipped." That tends to happen when you PRE-order a phone.
Take care
Gary
Thanks for the advice. It looked like I ran into a script reader in the first run. I will give it another try. If it still doesn't work I will tell them Verizon just called and I mean it LOL.

On the web pages for my order, it says "Processing", "Pending Shipment", and "Preorder Processing". It doesn't say "back-ordered". But maybe that's the term the customer support staff use.

I got the same info x2h but, i was also told 5000+ units have already arrived.
To clarify a bit, the order status for my Note 2 on the web page is "Preorder Processing". However when I called AT&T, the person said it's back ordered, meaning I will not get it on the November 9 date as previously announced.
So when will I get it? I asked.
"We will let you know".
Yeah right.
Don't give up hope. Keep following up on your order status via website. ATT customer service reps tend to make up things sometimes. Source - I'm an ex-att cust. service rep.
As horrible as it sounds, your forum members are right in telling you to rep shop (keep calling back to get the rep you want). ATT doesn't like this as it hogs up their queue, but sometimes it needs to be done to get the job done right.

Better than a middle finger emoticon:
Several people have hit AT&T up for credits. Do some digging and then hit them on their bottom line.
Consider it something to do while you wait.

I pre-ordered over the phone on 11/5. Just checked my status and it shows shipped from Fort Worth, TX and will arrive by the 9th.
I ordered through premiere with a company discount if that makes any difference.
My phone is backordered also
Preordered 10/25
They originally stated shipping 11/06
The next person stated they ran out and it was a first come first serve basis. That was a lie. If you look at their own forum
on att's website, you will see people who ordered way after and their phone is shipping.
Now they state they will start shipping 11/09, and that just means they will start shipping more orders which doesn't guarantee mine.
They violated their own policy of "first come, first serve" as stated on their own site when you preorder.
AT&T customer service departments do not have integration at all. Their logistics execution is horrible.

Are you planning on purchasing in store on launch day? I would've asked for credit towards my future bills for the inconvenience.
I ordered early Nov and yesterday I was told the same thing about being backordered . I called and chatted about 10 times. The reps are completely clueless (I'm guessing its not their fault they just dont get good info). Well around 10pm my order went from processing to shipped and I will receive phone today (according to fedex tracking - i paid the $15 for overnight). I am happy now, but I was pissed all day yesterday. I need to get a life.
well here's the latest update again. I canceled my preorder online last night. this morning an email comes in that my cancel was "unsuccessful". and then another emails that says my phone has been shipped, with FedEx tracking number. it has just left the Texas wharehouse. Expected delivery Nov 9 by 4:40 pm.
I am going to return it and tell them to put it on backorder.
OK one last update. Took the advice of others and called AT&T one last time. And the result is surprising:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33863020&postcount=43
You mean to tell men you've been with ATT since 2004 and you haven't learned to not call their service and NEVER rely on their answers? Preorderd 10/25 and it got here 11/08 10am.
They are clueless and don't know any more than what their website tells them.
And to those in the thread that seem to think otherwise, November 6 was the *Estimated* ship date. Nowhere was that day written in stone.

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile and ordered ANOTHER Galaxy S4, even a black one.
And it's shipping today arriving tomorrow.

T-Mobile has a bad habit of placing orders for sh!t they don't have. I have had it happen several times where they place an order and I check online:backordered :SMH:
What about customer satisfaction deals? I've been a T-Mobile customer for about 12 years now, and I'm still under contract, but not yet eligible for an upgrade. Anyone else in this situation that has not had to pay full price for their S4? Who / What department did you speak with, and what tactic did you use? I upgraded my last phone before I was eligible at a full discount, but I don't want to push my luck...

Ordered from tmobile online yesterday 4/30 and got overnight shipping for free due to a free next day shipping promotion they are having (i had to call tmo to get my $25 shipping refunded), TMO order confirmation shows delivery date of 5/8 on webiste but UPS website shows delivery date of 5/1. When I logged on to Tmo, it says shipped with a tracking # so then I tracked it on UPS, there was no record to be found. About midnight the tracking number started to "track" and it showed my package on the way and should be here before the end of the day ( May 01). Woke up this morning checked again and now my S4 is "OUT FOR DELIVERY"...o the joy, i cant wait!!! Its like waiting for Santa all over again that why i told all my friends: S4 its what dreams are made of!
yeah they're being shipped out. they're not on backorder lol

I ordered on Monday morning (full price upgrade and paid for overnight shipping), and have no tracking number yet. I heard different stories of "payment is being processed", and then "you will get it on Tuesday for sure, it's been shipped" to today's gem "we don't have any yet from Samsung." Riiiiight! I asked twice to have my shipping refunded, and the rep changed her tune to "actually it probably got shipped" and refused to refund the charge. Is this what UNcarrier has come down to?
Quite pissed by now that I can't even get a clear answer.
I ordered mine at about 1pm on Monday, got regular shipping, never recieved a confirmation and it never showed up on My Tmobile but less then 48hrs later it showed up at the door. Really surprised because I was going to call them today to see if the order actually went through.
Lol, latest gem from T-Mobile Customer Care: "It's too early to say you won't get the overnight delivery in time, because the estimated delivery date is April 30th, so everything looks to be on track."
Me: "Sir, you do realize it's May 1st today?"
Customer Care: "Ohh you're right.. Well, that is what it says in the system, so let's see what happens. Was there anything else I could help you with today?"
Who is this new T-Mobile and what did they do to the one I've known for years?
