How to change screen DPI on T3 - Sony Xperia T3

To decrease T3's screen dpi.... Just head over to build.props can b found in root system.... Edit the build.props by adding a line at the end, type "ro.sf.lcd_density=280"
320 is the stock value
I found 280 is looking best...
Try..
Make sure to make a backup of ur build.props first

If you want to use it on single apps you can do it (root required) by installing xposed framework and downloading the module xposed app settings.

Ofcouse you need root . Download Romtoolbox from play store go to build.prop /Ro.sf.lcd.density/ set property value to 240/ reboot ( but you will have little issue like when receive call, the answer & end button will misalign ,still working normal though)

Have you adjusted Menu > Settings > Accessibility > Font Size?
You can change that to "Tiny." Not sure if that's what you are looking for though?
The font sizes in Accessibility dont realy change them that much. Tiny is not that small or I just have good vision.... Custom launchers can help w/ the icon sizes.
I dont like how much room the toggles and screen brightness slider take up in the notification window. In portrait mode they take up like half the screen.

Sorry , for delay feedback been busy with real life job. Here is the 240 dpi mod link which compiable with note2 and I alway use Apex launcher Pro as my default launcher. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1873026 ( you must set LCD Density at 240 dpi when you use those Mod )
I've noticed in the past that sometimes a DPI of 241 works better than 240. Might be worth trying if you run into any other issues with alignment etc.

Request: real floating multi windows mod

Can anyone port real multi windows to galaxy grand?
I mean, not this basic multi window limited to two static windows that we have but the real stuff, with unlimited resizable floating windows, like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312004
I installed it on my galaxy tab and it's awesome, I can open as many windows as I want, minimise or maximise them like in a computer, pin them to keep them always on the screen, open any app as a window by just clicking its icon from the flash bar etc.
It would be really nice to have it on our grand, wouldn't it?
Thanks in advance to whoever will do it!
Nice concept!! Worth to have! @chotu222 and @k2wl knows such modifications!

i think we might need each other's help....i see that u are interested in getting floating window working for the galaxy grand and i'm trying to help the galaxy advance guys get their multi window mod working(the advance does NOT include multi by default) so i was thinking if we can figure it out then it MIGHT work for them also. If u are willing to try a few flash zips and file replacements then i'm wiling to help....of course u know i don't own a grand so i would be depending upon your reports. What i need to know first is will your phone still boot at 160 dpi and if so...does it change the ui from phone to phablet/tablet?
@unclefab
lets start simple...first add the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to your build prop. Next...delete the "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.phone.xml" in "system/etc/permissions" then place the 2 files below in the same location (don't forget to set proper permissions).
edit: If u are on MF7(actually shouldnt matter) u can just flash the zip below (i would try it anyway...just be sure to backup before u begin) or u can pull the 2 permissions files and do it manually...the package already has the build prop edited with the above line and dpi is set to 160 but may need to be changed to 200/213

The one in the notification bar will disappear once u delete phone.xml...the one in settings should show up when u add tablet.xml which means u probably need to check permissions. Also....even though u dont see the toggle try to hold the back button to see if the bar pops out.(not important right now though) Did the buttons & mini apps arrow appear at the bottom of the screen and if so...does it work when u press it?

I set up the right perms from the beginning mate
I have the xposed multi windows manager from before, with all apps allowed.
But no fun, pushing the back button doesn't do anything, No mini tray arrow, unlike with the tab 7...
By the way, thank you to take in charge this thread, cuz the "devs" here in grand forum seem to be more interested with fancy colours in their notification bar or s4 wallpapers.
But at their credit I have to admit that floating multi window is harder to realise than changing colors in the system ui

Which dpi? For the whole phone? Or for a specific app?
Ok, let me try first with some specific apps.
Another problem is that the grand flashbar doesn't display properly if it's dpi is below 230, I had tried previously. It appears, but the lower part is missing and its impossible to edit it.

The whole phone...dont worry about the flashbar for right now. Once we get floating mode working we'll replace it with a multi dpi version or just change settings in app settings module...we really want the mini bar to work right now but more importantly we need the maximize/resize icon to appear

Changing T3's screen dpi...

Here's how to change or decrease T3's screen dpi...
First go to root folder using any root browser (I am using ES File Explorer)
Then go to system u can find build.props file there
Select and hit edit, now scroll down and add this line at the bottom "ro.sf.lcd_density=180" after adding this line save and reboot .... Wallah now ur T3 looks even better
The stock value is 320 but I think 180 looks better....

Haven't faced such issue,,, can u post screen shot
Tested and 280 is looks awesome. in another thread we can find suggestion for 180 but is too small.
install xposded module called App Settings, and set different dpi for each app. much better. only works in kk though.
In Play Store you can find some apps that can change DPI

dpi too big

One of my most anticipated Android nougat features (please come sooner) is the scaling option in display settings.
And because I find the dpi in the p2 to be too big and I don't have poor eye sight I need it more compact to fit as much as possible into the screen.
So How do I change dpi to something like 400 dpi and would there be any bugs in doing so ?
Non_root method would be appreciated since I haven't OEM unlocked yet maybe I don't plan to
i have seen many people discussed about it, they changed DPI in ADB terminal by using some command, they reported of no problems
Method for changing the dpi, no root required!
Enable USB debugging in developer settings.
Connect the phone via USB to pc.
Start adb and find the phone:
Code:
adb devices
Then enter the command:
Code:
adb shell wm density 400 && adb reboot
Assuming you said you want the dpi of 400, if anyone is looking for a different dpi just change the value.
The phone will reboot.
Enjoy your new smaller dpi.
Profit.

You can always reverse it, just go see for yourself but yes, there are a few scaling problems. For me, it's totally worth it because the DPI is way too high

How to change your DPI settings to take advantage of the big screen

1. Settings.
2. System
3. About
4. Tap Build Number 10 times, until you are a developer.
5. System - Developer options
6. Drawing - Smallest Width #.
There are several guides on which DPI settings to use if you search, but I prefer around 600-640 to take advantage of the big screen. I hope this guide is helpful for some of you who weren't aware of this option. :highfive:

What DPI do you like? Lower?
I noticed today that I hadn't set the sizes in Display Settings first, to a smaller font, and then in developer options the DPI. The smaller font made a big difference, but is easy to overlook. I'm at 600 now, and everything works and looks fine. :cyclops:

It will reset every time you reboot the device. Also when you change the display settings it may revert back to normal.

This is where Huawei neuteres Android. Change the smallest width setting and it is reset every time you restart the phone. The Android System and some of the SystemUI elements don't even change when setting a higher number. Once you're rooted you're better off editing the build.prop in vendor and adding the qemu.sf.lcd_density=xxx line in to get everything to change like it's supposed to. Be careful not to go too low on the density or else EMUI glitches out to the point where your lockscreen will no longer function. It's one of the things about EMUI that really irks me and instead of Huawei fixing the issue they just seem to ignore it. That and not being able to move the wifi and data icons to the right where they should be.
We need root soon. Changing the width in developers options messes with some apps. Also, the navigation bar at the bottom doesn't change which blocks the exit button in my trading app. Quite annoying.
