most of the apps from s6 are ported and working well, just s6 edge - people edge apk couldn't be found anywhere
I just get the S Planner working. Most of the others just FC. Would like to have the new Music-App but it always crashes.
EDIT:
SMusic works when you delete/rename the folder "arm" in priv-app/SamsungMusic_20
s6 health, planner, note, launcher are working with the most of the people, I am more concerned about the people edge app from the s6 edge to the note edge, that will make note edge far better than the s6 edge

Is there anyway to get and apk for the Action Memo from the Note 3 installed on my Note 8.0....I love the widget on my Note 3 and use it all the time...
anyone have the apk?
That would be nice, trying to remember if I saw it in the Samsung app store.

Now which note are you transfering to?
Your title states Note 8, yet you ask Note 8.0... they are two diff devices, with two diff Androids.
I see a few Note 8 guys are messing up our forum threads with Note 8 questions.
Action memo was never introduced to Kitkat on the Note 8.0.
There are a few action memos plucked from Kitkat versions of phones and ported, but have odd formatting without using framework app settings.
You can modify your build prop to reflect the Kitkat tab and clear your Samsung apps data and cache to use Galaxy Apps to download a copy. Can't say if it will work or format properly to our screen dpi. I did do one update from Samsung so my Action menu is a bit newer than the ones floating around the S2 note II threads.
I just got my S6 (yes, I did not get the S7. Doesn't come with 128GB memory, and after 2 years with an S5 a sd card is not a solution), and I can't for the life of me find the email widget that I used to have on my stock S5 firmware... Did Samsung (or google) get rid of that in marshmallow?
On the same note: car mode seems to be gone too, or am I again just not seeing it?

Standalone car mode is gone, but certain apps have it built in and you will find it in the app settings.

No. I don't believe you can use it, as Samsung apps use Samsung Push Service.

I downloaded a couple apk's but they don't install normally and I'm missing the folder in \system that I'm supposed to copy them to.
Editted to add that I also found the S6 version as well, but I'm nervous about installing that one since the S6 doesn't have the S-Pen and I might lose that functionality.

I am not sure if you are interested or not, but you could install this [ROM] [5.1.1] Kyubi Note 5 Port Final [N910VVRU2BPA1] [2/23/16] and have a Note 5 with a Note 4 hardware. I have been running it for a lil over a week now and I think it's the best so far IMO. Hope this helps ya out.

Gonna run into issues trying to run apps designed for edge on note 4 without edge ROM port . some may work most won't . they redid multi window for edge (sucks)
Looks like Samsung has re-released Good Lock for Oreo phones, but only in South Korea for now. The apk is in the link. I haven't gotten it to work on S7 Oreo. Has anyone else had better...luck?

Only one I got to work was task changer, good luck app only came up with blank screen
So far the latest updates apps are working ,only edge lighting is not working anyone have a way to add edge lighting to s7
