[Q] Selfie stick problem - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I bought a selfie stick about a week ago and I'm having a problem with it. I bought the one that has a jack because I don't have to charge the stick and because i don't waste battery of the phone, but the problem is that when I try to record video with the camera app or with Snapchat, the phone catches the audio from the jack, so the video doesn't have audio. Does the phone have any option to make it record the audio from the phone microphone?
Thanks is advanced ^^

[Q] microphone quality improvement?

i have had a lot of phones over the years and the evo when recording voice or camera has horrible sound quality when playback..... is there a tweak that improves the voice quality? ive compared it to my nokia 5530 iphone 3gs and a crappy photo camera.... still not as great....
.....wait for it......
Do u have that same issue?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
the only tweak for audio recording that exists for the Evo is:
1) purchase a separate audio recording device of your choice
2) use gorilla glue to fasten the new (or used) recording device to the back of the Evo (make sure to leave the battery door of the recording device accessible, since this may or may not be a problem for some when choosing the proper orientation)
B) press record on the Evo and record on the audio recording device at the same time... otherwise your audio and video will be out of sync
A) when playing back clips, ensure that file on the audio recording device matches the video selected on the Evo - be careful to press play on both devices at the same time in order to maintain AV sync
5) you may wish to head down to the local army/navy surplus store for some fire retardant gear (protect yourself from the severe burns that will ensue from your original post).
this is a codec issue... we are stuck with AMR (at 8 or 12 kHz) until someone figures out how to get our hardware to work with another codec.

[Q] Concert Recording Quality

I was going to buy the Galaxy SIII when it came out, but it turns out that it has a ****ty microphone in terms of recording audio, especially at concerts...compared, to say, the iPhone 4S.
This phone seems promising, but I'm yet to find ANYTHING online in regards to the same issue. Does anybody know what the quality of the audio recording is like when recording loud music, preferably at a concert?
Thanks!
I'll do a test and upload it on youtube and let you know!
Two test done:
Internal Mic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBLs2AAjoB4
Headphone Mic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuQpVPv9yz0
BTW: From my basic test, it means that the video recording is taking the mic pluged in the jack when there's one. So, it means that you can use an adaptor and plug in a better mic.
I have done several tests with my old Galaxy S here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=815074&highlight=microphone
Everything should apply with the LGOG.
I'll test an external mic this weekend, if I can find my adaptor... :|
Awesome, thanks man! Appreciate it .
Forgot to test with an external mic

This is done with the adapter for a portable DVD, which splits the TRRS into 3 seperate RCA, then used an RCA to 1/4 jack, then microphone.
An adaptor could be made, I most likely will do it during the christmas season and provide a guide!
Perfect! I think I'm finally gonna buy the phone.

Joying 4.4 Rk3188 - BT call audio missing

Hey guys,
I purchased this unit from Amazon and absolutely love the radio, but I've tried to get 4 different modern phones to connect their call audio through the radio, but all I get is silence. I can hear the unit switch audio inputs but nothing comes through the speakers.

However, BT music streaming works just fine.

I ordered another unit in case one was bad, but still have the same problem.
The manufacturer seems responsive, but I'm losing patience, any suggestions to fix this problem?

Have you tried with another phone?
UnfortunatelyI tested with 4 phones:
Iphone 6s plus
LG V10
Samsung Note 5
HTC One M8
Almost feels like something is not wired properly, yet everything works fine except call audio.
What would cause media audio to work via BT, but not call audio?
The only item I can think of is the BT settings on the phone, but all phones were configured for call and media streaming.
Did you ever find a resolution to this issue?
Have been bench testing my new unit for that past week, was sad to discover this. At least it is able to alert a phone call in various ways.

Yes!
I sourced my amplifier using the rear RCA outputs on the Joying HU, after realizing that most manufacturers output call audio to the front channels only, I resolved the problem by moving my RCA cables to the front set of HU outputs.
Hope this helps others.
I ran into this with my wife's Iphone 6 today. My LG G3 works great, but the Iphone keeps switching back from bluetooth to itself for call audio. No amplifier in the car.
We are going to try updating the iOS on it and see if that makes any difference...

I could be way off here, but similar thing happened when I switched from Android to an iPhone. Found out that if you answer the call from your iPhone, it will switch to the iPhone earpiece. You have to answer incoming calls via the hands free device (your steering controls or the touchscreen) to keep the audio going through the Bluetooth.

The video shows you are using a Malaysk ROM. Did you try the latest ROM for your unit?
I am bench-testing my Eonon GA2114 (RK3188, 800x480) and had the same issue. I installed Malaysk's Dec 4 ROM and the problem is solved for me.

External microphone on LG G4

Hi all!
I want to start a YouTube channel (law lectures) and for obvious reasons that all know here, I'd like to use my LG G4 as camera to shoot it.
Concerning photography and video shooting, LG G4 is still one of the best phone. But concerning sound recording, when it comes to produce, even dedicated cameras' internal microphones are not sufficient. That's why I wanted to know if I could plug an external microphone in the 3,5 mm jack and if a can, the G4's camera app would be able to use it to record the sound (and if yes, mono or stereo recording?).
I don't have any external microphone at home, that's why I can't check it myself...
Thanks for your replies!

External Microphone

Having a little experiment this week, I have a OSMO Mobile, have sideloaded DJI Go app onto fire phone and was hoping to use an unused Fire Phone for some filming at a trade show. I have been using my Galaxy Note 4 for this for about six months with success but have come to realise that I need my main phone on me for the rest of my work and that when you plug an audio splitter and external mic in it becomes too heavy for the gimbal's motors. The Fire Phone's size, battery life at 32gb and with a pretty decent camera is absolutely perfect for this job BUT...
I have a Røde Videomic and the TRRS to TRS adapter required for recording into a smartphone which works on my Note and a colleague's iPhone 6s but it just doesn't seem to record to the Fire Phone no matter what app I try (tried the internal camera and I can't seem to record video with audio using the external Mic even though I can record just audio with it with a voice recorder app. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The fact that you can record audio with it is really strange to me, even selecting "External Mic" on two different apps it still doesn't work.
