SOC version - HTC Desire Eye

I read that HTC Desire EYE has Qualcom 801 msm8974AB but mine is msm8974AA
Anyone else ? Even more funny is the short spec sheet here on XDA 2.4GHz CPU?!?!?!?
Guys get serious..

We have a 8974AA (both are pin compatible and are very similar).

Thanks for reply.
So every Desire EYE have msm8974AA?

So this one is like Snapdragon 800 first generation used in LG G2...Xperia Z1...Nexus 5...etc.
I was confused about low benchmark scores on all reviews but now it is clear Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AA is in HTC Eye...lower GPU clock and RAM clock...funny how hardware info is not correct in any app available...

Similar but GPU and RAM are on the low clock speed sadly

I informed PDADB and they are the first (best) to change SOC spec used in Desire EYE

[Q] HTC Wildfire VS Samsung GT-i5500 VS Huawei Ideos U8150

Hi Everybody!
Someone could please tell me why these two smartphones are a lot faster than our wildfire?
I don't think it depends on the CPU frequency because they are faster also versus the overclocked wildfire.
On these smartphones, in example, angry birds runs better than well! You can find gameplays on youtube!
I tryied playing on a gt-i5500 and the gameplay it's like on the iphone
I don't think these smartphones have a GPU...
So, why the wildfire, which cost a lot more, is so slow??? Please help me to understand
Wildfire costs more because of the brand. For example, a SOny TV is much more expensive than a LG of the same specs because of the brand`s name and history.
ok!
now, why it is so slow?
Its because it uses a very old CPU, with no GPU, and, utilizes the Sense Interface, which requires a lot of processing power.
the gt-i5500 and the ideos both have GPU?

Ideos doesn't
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
so, wildfire with cyanogenmod (no SENSE) with overclock should be faster than ideos
but you can see that this is not true!
i would like to understand how much this slowness is hardware or software related, because if it is software related ( opengl driver, ecc) maybe can be fixed
what do you think?
The wildfire cannot do angry birds due to the lack if gpu it is reallllly low framerate
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I think it's because i5500 has much smaller screen and therefore resolution. The same processor can faster reload images, because it requires less computing.

The i5500 does have a smaller screen (2.8" vs 3.2"), but, the resolution is the same (240x320), which implies the number of pixels on the screen are the same.
Huawei U8150 according to http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_u8150_ideos-3513.php
"528 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7225 chipset"

Ideos has an overclock CPU (made directly by Huawei) at 600Mhz.
I am saying that it has a GPU named "ADRENO 200"
interesting, could they (gmsarena) be wrong about this? so practically wildfire is as lame as ideos in gaming huh? well im just saying, they got that 3d game in their ads.. sucks tho.. im liking this ideos thing so far..

They are. There is no GPU in the wildfire, and, it sucks at gaming. It should be your last priority if you intend to play even remotely taxing games, even ones like Angry Birds.
I don't know about the Ideos, but, there again I think GSMArena is wrong. AFAIK, MSM7225 does not support GPU's. Only 7227 does, which is rated at 600MHz. So, if as another member said, that it ships at 600MHz, there is a possibility is uses the 7227 instead of the 7225.

Defy = OMAP 3630

After installing RSD Lite. I could see S Flash OMAP3630 after I plugin the defy via usb while the phone is on bootloader (Power+VolUp)
Does it mean the the defy has a OMAP3630 and not a 3610?
Yes, a lot of people says "that is an error!! DONT CARE!"
A loot of people says, no, other says yes, and motorola don't care about it...
But in my opinion have a 3630 ( not sure ).
I think thats what the driver say it is...
The only way to find out will be to install a 3610 driver specifically and try if PC recognizes this. Doesnt it make sense?
why motorola make a 3630 driver for a 3610 CPu?
no logic...

its an unified driver for the hole range of 36xx cpu's.
and in the other thread its come to the point it's a 3615 cpu with 3D but without 720p encoding/decoding ...

i know this thread (i contributed some posts myself) but when its a 3615 w 3d and w/o hd en/decoding, how come that it plays 720p content in mp4/h.264 like a charm?

i think, we can't be shure until it the defy gets shred to pieces by ifixit or some other daredevil

Yes it's possible, but if the bit rate goes up 4mb/s, you can't play it.. why?
easy, the band width isn't sufficient, and phone overloads.
I thing a bitrate of 30000kbps it's ok, nothing more....
PD: srry for my bad english
the processor of defy is a Texas Instruments OMAP3630 because it included a POWERVR SGX graphics 530. POWERVR is recognized by Quadrant.

That's physically impossible!
Only 3630/3622 come with the package required for POP (stacked memory chip). If it is 361x, where is the memory chip? It's very hard to miss shuch a huge chip.

No, that's an outdated presentation. In the latest (Nov. 2010) Technical Reference Manual, ALL 36xx variants have identical full speed GPUs.
So where can we find the Windows 7 drivers for this so I can get RSDLite working?
At the moment getting a msg indicating drivers are not installed??
Edit: used winxp machine. S/W issue at my end.
hi, i want do something on AM3703, it's same with omap 3630? thanks in advance!
I hope so ,but ,I don't believe it has the opma3630.may be there is an error on the software. If defy's cpu is 3630,it can be more attracktive!so,why moto didn't tell us it's cpu is 3630?
Believe what u want...it works...and it works great
Thats all that matters
When the Defy+ comes out, just benchmark it...surely a 3610 + kyro will be slightly less powerful than a 3630

Same reason they used when they said it didn't have ANY Graphic Chip and the same one when they said the phone only had a 2 point Multitouch Screen.
I believe they limited the device softwarewise in order to strategise the launch of its successor Defy+ .
Why just not compare performance with phones for which we know they have 3630 for sure and then we will know

Sounds like either moto has a plan and lied, or their spokes person havent a clue.
I vote for the latter...
i think defy's cpu is 3630.so defy+ update cpu to 3630 is a joke.

[Q] Confused about my tmobile g2 processor

Friends i found some great games like modern combat, deer hunter etc in another forum, they shows links as snap dragon version then samsung galaxy s and other Cortex processors, desire hd, and xperia version, i am confused which one to download, bcoz specs of g2 shows it has scorpian 800mhz processor with adreno 205 gpu, but in desire z specs it shows it has 800mhz snapdragon processor, so correct game selection for desire z is simple, but which one to choose for tmobile g2?
You choose the same version you choose for the Desire Z, since the Tmobile G2 uses the same Processor and GPU. The chip is the Snapdragon Scorpion, where Scorpion refers to the application processor core. Some people call the CPU Scorpion others Snapdragon, it basically refers to the same thing.
As above, Snapdragon is the package (system on a chip) and Scorpion the core.

Thanx a lot for your help, will get snapdragon versions actually I checked the specs of both sets on gsmarena, where they shown scorpion for g2, and snapdragon for desire z that's what made me confused

thanks mate, I was going to dishearted when I was looking at games and found no word on scorpion processor, nearly sold my g2 bcoz of that now will love to keep it as long as I can

the specs for the 8S on XDA are wrong

on http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2010 it states that the 8S has 1.50GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, when the 8S actually has Qualcomm S4 1 GHz, Dual-core

As far as i know the processor is the same like the one on the 8X only that it`s downclocked to 1Ghz.If i manage to find the article where i read this i will post it here.
Here are the current specs on gsmarena.

So probably is it possible to overclock the phone to 1.5GHz? If yes, can someone explain how?
right

Android overclocks with a custom kernel. Not sure how windows phones work when it boils down to the OS but if you can configure the deep, deep drivers within the windows phone you can probably overclock it much higher than 1.5 ghz.
My S3 has the same 1.5 S4 but its currently running at 2.1 ghz
I think it just might need a little time, but will come. Get some of the geniuses over here at XDA to help
AFAIK, not being a Windows Phone user, overclocking may be too tricky.

Yes.There is always a chance to overclock the processor but as far as i know it is to early for this to be done.Only time will tell.

quad core... it will be dreaded to fail with 512mb RAM
The HTC One V is the smaller brother of HTC's 2012 flagship One X. Its 1GHz Qualcomm S2 single core processor and 512MB RAM place it in the low end of the smartphone scale. The One V has a 3.7" Super LCD2 display with a resolution of 480x800 and 252ppi. Other features include 4GB storage, microSD slot up to 32GB, 5MP camera and 720p video recording, all powered by a 1500mAh battery.
Another name for the processor could be 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255.
