[Q] Chinese Version LTE Support - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I noticed on some websites such as expansy and Ebay that the Chinese Zenfone 2's support T Mobile's LTE. Some people from Slickdeals also mentioned they were able to get LTE. If anyone owns a Zenfone 2, may you please confirm whether this is true? I thought the Chinese version does not support any US band and frequency except AT&T Band 2.

I don't see band 2 supported for CN/IN model for FDD-LTE. This is from ASUS site.
EDGE/GPRS/GSM: 850/900/1800/1900.
3G:
WCDMA : 850/900/1900/2100.
TD-SCDMA: (CN/IN Only). 1900 ~ 2100.
4G:
FDD-LTE: (TW) 2100MHz(1), 1900MHz(2), 1800MHz(3), 1700MHz. AWS(4) 850MHz(5), 900MHz(8), 700MHz(28).
FDD-LTE: (WW) 2100MHz(1), 1900MHz(2), 1800MHz(3), 1700MHz. AWS(4) 850MHz(5), 2600MHz(7), 900MHz(8), 800MHz(20).
FDD-LTE: (US) 2100MHz(1), 1900MHz(2), 1800MHz(3), 1700MHz. AWS(4) 850MHz(5), 2600MHz(7), 900MHz(8), 700MHz(17), 800MHz(20).
FDD-LTE: (CN/IN) 2100MHz(1), 1800MHz(3).
TDD-LTE: (CN/IN) 2600MHz(38), 1900MHz(39), 1900MHz(40), 1900MHz(41).

I've supposedly got the EU version, but I was under the impression that I would be getting 4G LTE, but I'm just getting HSPA.

Help! Is there any chance to change bands frequences from CN to WW please!

Here's my question:
I see 850 MHz for both GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSPA+... Does this mean that it will default to HSPA+ when it exists?
I just don't want it to toggle from LTE to 2G, heh...

Yes. Default preference order is LTE, then HSPA+/WCDMA, then EDGE/GPRS/GSM

Version madness: how do you find out version from sellers?

According to Asus regional versions are like this:
TW - FDD-LTE:
2100MHz(1)
1900MHz(2)
1800MHz(3)
1700MHz AWS(4)
850MHz(5)
900MHz(8)
700MHz(28)
WW - FDD-LTE:
2100MHz(1)
1900MHz(2)
1800MHz(3)
1700MHz AWS(4)
850MHz(5)
2600MHz(7)

US - FDD-LTE:
2100MHz(1)
1900MHz(2)
1800MHz(3)
1700MHz AWS(4)
850MHz(5)
2600MHz(7)
900MHz(8)
700MHz(17)
800MHz(20)
CN/IN - FDD-LTE:
2100MHz(1)
1800MHz(3)
CN/IN - TDD-LTE:
2600MHz(38)
1900MHz(39)
1900MHz(40)
1900MHz(41)
Is that correct?
So different regional versions come with different sku and different firmware, and different enabled bands, right?
However, many sellers are listing all FDD LTE bands now in their products and not the product region. How do you differentiate them if not by the LTE bands?

If it's not differentiated or clearly marked on the page which version it is, and you can't get an answer from customer support, then consider buying from somewhere else.
Contacted a couple of aliexpress sellers which list all bands if their description, could not get any clear answer.
I think the safest to assume is that if your buying from any chinese based provider like aliexpress, pandawill and the like, you will be getting the CN/IN version with limited LTE bands, don't you agree?
What about WCDMA support in the Chinese SKU, Asus specs say:
3G :
WCDMA :
850/900/1900/2100
TD-SCDMA: (CN/IN Only)
1900 ~ 2100
Does that mean that Chinese version supports ONLY TD-SCDMA? Or that Chinese version supporta BOTH WCDMA and TD-SCDMA?

H791F works in Brazil LTE

I bought a LG-H791F and I did not remember to look where the correct model to my country.
In my city does not have 4G yet.
Will this version works in Brazilian 4G?

The LG-H791 is the international version of the Nexus 5x. It supports these LTE bands:
LTE (FDD) bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/9/17/18/19/20/26/28
LTE (TDD) bands: 38/40/41
LTE CA DL: B1-B3, B1-B5, B1-B7, B1-B8, B1-B18, B1-B19, B1-B26, B3-B3, B3-B5, B3-B7, B3-B8, B3-B19, B3-B20, B3-B28, B5-B7, B7-B7, B7-B20, B7-B28, B40-B40, B41-B41
The LTE bands available from all the different carriers in Brazil are:
LTE Bands: 3 - 7 - 28 - 38
Your device will work with any of the Brazilian carriers including Claro, Nextel, Oi, ON Telecom, SKY Brazil, TIM and VIVO. You won't have any problems. Good luck.

Okay. That's my fault. I overlooked the "F" in your model number. Sorry. Here are the specs for your LG-H791F:
B1 (2100) LTE
B2 (1900 PCS) LTE
B3 (1800 +) LTE
B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1) LTE
B5 (850) LTE
B7 (2600) LTE
B20 (800 DD)
LTEB28 (700 APT) LTE
You device supports LTE bands 3, 7 and 28 which are used by all the Brazilian carriers except SKY Brazil and ON Telecom which use Band 38.
The 3G bands that are supported by your device are as follows:
B1 (2100) UMTS
B2 (1900 PCS) UMTS
B5 (850) UMTS
B8 (900 GSM) UMTS
Now, your device does support all of the Brazilian carriers UMTS 3G & HSPA networks because all of the carriers use Band 1 and Band 5.
Also, you specific device supports all of the 2G networks as well for each carrier. Looks like you are good to go.
H791(F),maybe refer to FDD only model, network goes like
GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900,
UMTS850 (B5), UMTS900 (B8), UMTS1900 (B2), UMTS2100 (B1),
LTE2100 (B1),LTE1800 (B3),LTE1900 (B2), LTE1700/2100 (B4), LTE850 (B5), LTE2600 (B7), LTE800 (B20), LTE700 (B28)
Frequency band allocation of Brazil is same as Europe,Band 3 (1800) Band 7(2600) for most carriers,
And how did you get such an interesting version?Willing sharing a QPST QCN backup for band unlocking?

Dual SIM support on LG G5

Was wondering, if we could have dual sim enabled on LG G5 sprint model?
Any idea on how to do this?
Also, any idea on the 4G LTE bands for this handset? Does it support LTE bands 800 / 850 & 2300?
Would appreciate any help..
The Dual Sim version of the G5 is the H868 [Dual Sim]: GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 WCDMA: B1/B2/B5/B8 LTE: B1/3/7/38/39/40/41
LS992 [Sprint]: CDMA: BC0, BC1, BC10 GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 WCDMA: B2/B4/B5 LTE: B2/4/5/7/12/25/26/41
Hardware difference?

Got it.. So is it that both of them have different hardware or is it just a difference between ROM / Kernel?
Any way in which we can enable dual sim option on LS992?

I believe it depends on LTE bands your mobile provider uses.
