enable all apps popup view? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Does anyone got any idea how we can enable all apps in multiWindow and popup view? Right now there are only a few that can do that which is almost useless for me.

you need to root.

All I need is root? Or do I need more than that to get it working?

Root and there are a couple multiview apps in the playstore that will allow you to pick which apps you want to have that feature.

Examples?

No.
What ROM are you running? Are you Rooted, if yes then you can use Adaway or Adfree or something like that. All are readily available in the market.
If not Rooted, not sure anything can be done for you. Kind of one of the basic reasons to Root IMO.
Edit: Just saw that your signature says Rooted. Then try Adfree or Adaway. They both work well.
I tried using adaway and adfree but a lot of the apps I have still has ads.
It does work but only for certain apps

Like which app? Let me see if I have them
If the app in question does not require an active internet connection in order to use the app, then I suggest using Droidwall from the market and black listing said app. It works great for the games I play.

You can use this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper&hl=en
Assuming you're using TouchWiz, you can hide the root icon by using the Hide Applications feature built into TouchWiz
Go to your app drawer, press setting and HIDE APPLICATIONS and select the root icon
You can also use the OTA RootKeeper to reinitialize root... I use this method to hide root to run applications that won't run on rooted phones like RedBox Instant by Verizon although I have yet to use it because I haven't received my free trial!
What do you mean by root icon? Are You referring to SuperSU app?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Hiding the icon as in that method (not using rootkeeper), would just hide your superuser app from the app drawer, so yes

Do you use multi window?

I rooted my note 3 last night and installed the mods to add other apps to multi window. That was my main drive to rooting. But I don't seem to use it that much. I find it easier just to use one app and then click the home button swipe up on nova which gives me my recent apps and then use the other apps. That works better for me and is really fast. I was just wondering do you guys use multi window? And if so is there a certain way you use it? With any specific apps?

I use it from time to time when I'm on the go and I have to open a spreadsheet as well as my email for example, where I have to take certain figures from a worksheet and use them in my email to someone... that's just an example... Another example is when I have jotted down several numbers that I have to do some work with, so I open my notes, say, on the top, and the calculator on the bottom... It WILL come in handy--trust me.
I thought I would use it more, but I've only used it 3 times total. I guess more app support would help, but even then I don't I would use it much.
i have used it a bunch of times
will do it more when i can add whatever app i want to it (stock with root)
i just hate it when it does it on its own
What mod did you use to use all apps?

I use it to watch tv n candy crush at work

I do, but I'm noticing that after sometime the little tab disappears so I would have to go into settings and turn it off and back on. What causes this?
I guess it will come handy later on. At least we have this features. It's good to see what other people are using it for.

These r the steps I took.
I rooted my note using cf auto root. (still don't have a recovery installed since twrp and cwm are both having problems.)
Installed the xposed framework (from the themes and apps section in first post) reboot.
Went to play store search wanam xposed. Installed. Open xposed installer enabled wanam module. Reboot.
Go into wanam app. Go to system section. There is a tab that let's u add apps to multi view.
Done.

Yeah adding with Wanam module works great. It also adds a hotboot function which is handy.
As for uses, I've used it loads of times with my reader app. I can pop open a browser to search a definition or get more info on something. I found that apps are limited in how they work with each other though. For example I can't drag a reference image from a browser into sketchbook. But that's an issue with sketchbook and not the multiwindow function.
Thanks, i used the multi window manager from the play store to use all apps. As for how much I actually use it, not much. I've actually been using pen window more since we can add any app to it. It's become quite useful.

I did all this and enabled the apps I want...but how does it work now?
They are not showing on the right slide out thing for multiwindow...does it not show up there, but we can do it by opening those apps?
Also the wanam app is a lifesaver...lots of things on there
-nvm went to edit and they are all showing now
I actually use it a lot more now on the note 3 than i did on the note 2. The app groups really makes it more useful to me. Specifically i have an IRC/Chrome combo, an IRC/Youtube combo, a Chrome/youtube combo, email/gmail combo, gmail/chrome combo, and quite a few more like that, you can see the theme... I also enabled auto multi window for supported apps, which i find really useful, so sometimes if i click on a youtube link in some apps, it will play the video on the bottom half, or if i click on a link in a text message, it splits and takes me to the webpage... Each evolution of samsungs software gets just a little bit more useful imo.

So I have to know, I can't seem to get some apps to show up....I try to select Netflix and it won't show up in the multi window menu bar....it's damn near the only app I want to use with other apps and I can't! Any suggestions? I'm trying the wanam method....running jovy23's wicked Rom on my n900w8....the multi window app crashes whenever I try to load it
Any idea?

[Q] sms without root

Hi guys, I bought my nexus 7 2013 lte thinking it could send sms. It seems it can but only if I root and install xposed etc etc.
My dilemma is that I have a nowtv subscription which will not run on rooted devices. I there any way to enable sms without rooting?
Ive tried masking root by all the usual methods but nowtv always knows. This is so frustrating for me as im not to tec savvy.
I have however flashed an older rom 4.3.1 and it works. is that my only option?

I was going to tell you google voice then realized you're on the wrong side of the pond. Been using it for years. Sorry, haven't paid attention to the other options.
RootCloak is a xposed module that hides root from certain apps. I'm not sure what you want in the means of SMS, but I use Google voice, with the voice+ module and nexus 7 SMS enabler modules, then I can choose what default SMS app I want (Hangouts, 8sms). Or you can just use a different SMS app like TextPlus without without rooting.

xposed requires root doesn't it?
root cloak doesn't work. nowtv still says device modified and won't run.
Yes Xposed requires root.
Did a little searching and there's a RootCloak Plus which will do the job. Look under the Apps with calls... Header in this link.

Thanx for your time but this didn't work. I guess it's one of those apps that the root cloak plus won't work on.
I see the op is still working on another bskyb app.
Back to looking for a way to enable outbound text... (unrooted)
Thanx again..
Just a thought, is it possible to make an unrooted rom with mms built in that can be flashed via adb or any other method?

You may find this info useful!
Xposed Framework FAQDoes this require root access?
Yes, because it replaces a file in /system/bin. Once the framework is installed, it should work without root access.
and the link where I found the info.

Thanks for info but I have tried this method. I have unrooted as far as possible without flashing stock but it seems something is left behind that the skygo/nowtv apps see's and says os is modified and will not run.

Adding Multi window apps

Does anyone know if it is possible to add apps to the multi window function or is that just a root thing?

It has to be included in the app unless you install modified apks for the apps (not many of them exist).

MW-Pen App Enabler in the play store seems to work for me
You do need the to pay for the pro key to enable the MultiWindow enabler feature.
This app seems to modify the apk for you and then install the app again and it doesn't seem to work for all apps though but most do.
