First Ever Dedicated Smartwatch Keyboard is here - Moto 360

Infiniti Technology is excited to announce the launch of TouchOne Keyboard, the first ever dedicated smartwatch keyboard. The unique design of the TouchOne keyboard can be implemented into a round or square interface. We have tested that the TouchOne Keyboard fits any screen size down to 3cm/ 1.18 inches. Users can learn to type within a minute, and they should easily type 20 words/minute, which is the similar typing speed on an iPhone.
The multi-patents granted design has the unique features below:
1. Dedicated design for small devices, proven to fit any screen size down to 3cm/1.18 inches.
2. First ever designed with round surface. Square and round smartwatches are both compatible
3. Finger-sized keys, certified for fat fingers
4. One-touch typing experience, easy to tap to type
5. Improved design from the T9 input, which enables user to learn it within a minute
6. Up to 10 customizable gestures are supported from the central circle of the keyboard. Users could make typing easier by customizing their own gestures
7. Powerful setting function allows user to minimize the keyboard or even make it invisible
8. Fully blind typable solution
9. Designed for human's finger ergonomics
We are inviting XDA users to test our TouchOne Keyboard for Android Phone and Android Watch.
Please send request email to [email protected] , and we will send you the App.

AEIOU KEYBOARD (tm)

I have developed a new keyboard for all typewriters and computers throughout the world. It can be found at AEIOUkeyboard.com (The rules of this site do not allow me to provide a link as a new person posting.)It has a patent pending. I am looking for a way to create an app that can be used on Android. My keyboard would be sold as an alternative to the QWERTY keyboard that Android now has. Obviously, it must be able to create messages and send them via email or text messages. The only difference would be the keyboard. My keyboard must obviously interact with the Android DOS to be able to send messages, etc.
The users of phones and pads face the problem that when confronted with a QWERTY keyboard they must start by hunt and peck typing either with one or two fingers, or their thumbs. Eventually, they become proficient. The AEIOU Keyboard (tm) would make learning an new keypad much easier and faster. However, it would be fairly easy for a person using the QWERTY system to adapt because the new keyboard is more logical, visual and intuitive.
I am picking Android to start with because I believe it is easier than iPhone or iPad to have an app accepted. But I don’t know that much about this business, so I may be wrong about this. I should mention that swiftkey at swiftkey.net has a keyboard that differs slightly from Android's and it is running as an alternative, so certainly my keyboard on Android would seem feasible.
I am looking for a developer to partner with to develop an app specifically for Android that could be sold via an apps store. It would be an alternative to the present keyboard used on Android.
If you would like to partner with me on this project on a 50/50 royalties split, please be in contact. Obviously, I see this eventually becoming the standard keyboard used by all pads and phones. If you are interested, or would like to talk further, please be in contact. [email protected]
Thanks,
Paul Streitz

[LAUNCHED] XOPAD - Open Source Android Gamepad

Hello XDA developers!
A few friends and I have been developing a totally new USB open source gamepad called XOPAD. As part of the open source community, we figured we might ask you what you think, possible improvements and suggestions that may arise, before launching it.
Here's what it looks like:
It has :
Stereo speakers embedded in the controller, one on each side
Dual clickable analog joysticks (not sliders, actual tilting joysticks)
An internal battery with a booster that can charge the phone
Software-programmable SENSE-pin resistance, to be able to switch from On-The-Go to AOA 2.0 modes (beta function as of now)
Upgradable firmware through the micro USB port
Uses HID protocol, therefore there's no need for apps, it's real plug&play. We might need to make an app to easily remap buttons in the future for different games.
Adjustable to fit different phone sizes up to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
UPDATE:
We have now launched our project! Show us some support and make XOPAD a reality!
XOPAD - an Open Source USB Gamepad for Android smartphones
Tell us what you think!
PS: You can follow the progress of the project in http://www.facebook.com/xopad, our blog http://xopad2012.wordpress.com or our twitter account https://twitter.com/xopad
UPDATE:
Here is the behind the scene video of the XOPAD:

Update
We have launched out project on kickstarter! See first post for update.

My extremely short review of the Moto 360

In short:
- It looks amazing on the wrist and it's worth the price and desire only for this "feature" (I have the silver version).
- It's so confortable you forget you wear it.
- As of now you can't do any useful things with it. The heart rate monitor barely works when you stand still, let alone when you move. It's just for fun and conversation. My LG G2 notification LED is so powerful that it can communicate more things than the watch can.
- It's just a lame remote for the phone right now.
What is needed (mostly from Androir Wear):
- Canned responses, easily accessible and sortable.
- Different vibration patterns depending on notification type (API ?)
- Standalone Wi-Fi functioning (as I understand, the Moto 360 has the Wi-Fi hardware)
- More open API to enable more powerful applications
- I think it's possible to type on the watch, but Google just needs to let developers try it in an official way
Hopefully the Apple Watch approach with powerful applications residing on the watch will "inspire" the Android Wear team to enable more stand-alone functionality.
That's about it. I like the hardware a lot, but the software is in its infancy. I think Samsung's Tizen approach is appropriate at this time, given how limited the Android Wear is.

disagree with the "can't do anything useful" comment...
use autovoice, tasker and google search api and the possibilities are limited to what tasker can do (almost limitless). requires root and a little work, but i now have my watch running tasker tasks including controlling my home automation system... i feel like james bond. "ok, google. flush toilet!"
can't wait for android L
Nub question. What's API ?
Will we see upgrades with Wear 2.0/ Android L?
I'm expecting my watch by the 15th...the wait is killing me.

The Android Phone version of TouchOne is only running on your phone as a guideline of the logic.
It’s important to note that TouchOne for Smartwatch isn’t yet in production, as there aren’t any text fields in Android Wear apps. We will send you an APK which you will manually push it into your watch via ADB debug commands.

Sure, I understand Okay how do you want to send me the APK? Be good to give it a go! On a side note, I am using a mail application on my watch and a keyboard appears when I use it to reply to messages...would this be a built in keyboard then and not one that's installed on the watch itself as part of the OS?

Hi Guys
We apologize for the very late delays of sending the keyboard. The project is still very much alive and we are pushing for an official release in August. We are hard at work at getting the keyboard done and making major improvements. We are also redeveloping our website as our old one had many blatant errors and users are complaining about missing out on getting our keyboard. We currently do not have an automated email service at the moment but will we migrating to one very soon.

Thank you, got it installed now. Right away i really feel the need for an "ok" button or something?
I can't really test it with anything because it wont close the actual keyboard in any way after i open it. I'll get stuck in the "text" editor of sorts after i type in www dot google dot com (new here, wouldn't let my type in link to google) in WearInternetBrowser.
Anyone know if im simply not doing something right? tap and hold a couple times with no luck.
EDIT: bah, im stupid... the trick is obviously swipe the keyboard down... xD
