The Mlais M4 Note "Iron Bone" is now out! and it looks a little bit like the Note 4 from Samsung, but still the design in some aspects is very different. I believe that we have seen the same design on the Elephone P8 Pro or HDC Note 4 Spark (as they look exactly the same, but both have much lower specs than the Mlais M4 Note).
The special about the Mlais M4 Note is that it comes with some pretty good specifications and a very fair price.
Let's have a look on the specifications and main features of the Mlais M4 Note:

So from that we can see that it should be powerfull enough to run most tasks. The CPU is one of the new 64bit and MALI T760. It says Android 5.0 which is very interesting, but if it really comes out of the box with 5.0 we have to wait and see?
It supports Dual SIM (a very good thing to have) 4G/LTE (at last we see this on a Note 4 look-a-like phone!) and comes with a 5.5 inch 1280x720 IPS HD screen, not the best (as FHD would have been better) - but it should be enough for most people if it is of a good quality screen.

I strongly recommend to update to latest build 20150507, as it fixes many of the bugs in the first Lollipop firmware, also the camera is much better after this update!

It is important you follow the flashing instructions and flash with Mlais flash tool! not use SP Flash Tool.
After the last 2 updates from Mlais, Lollipop now runs perfect on the Mlais M4 Note. Out of the box, the Lollipop had some bugs, but they have been fixed. So I can now clearly recommend this phone!

I can today confirm that it comes with real Android 5.0 out of the box (SDK 21) and that it runs pretty well, but there can be some incompatibility with some apps. (I hope Mlais will fix this asap!)
Check post #1 for a real video of the phone. It scores about 34000 in Antutu Benchmark, where for example the Elephone P6000 with the same chipset and RAM scores about 32000. So not much of a difference, just a small one. But still an improvement!
What can you say about the battery life? I read in many sites that they lied about the battery capacity in the m52 note, is it the same situation?

Here Geekbench 3 Battery Test

It is around the same as the THL 2015 (that gets 06:05:50 / 3331) (the Mlais M4 here scores actually a little bit better, despite it has a bigger screen).
So I would say it is okay. I read somewhere that the Mlais M52 doesn't get 6 hours (or only very close to it) in Geekbench 3 Battery Test.
Help with Malais m4 drivers update
Hello,
I am unable to download the drivers from there website as they aren't compatible with a windows 8 operating system.
I am also unable to update. I tried to install wireless updates and it says "warning your system was damaged, wireless update is disabled".
Every time i run an app like BBM or what's app or try to stream a video I get "Unfortunately (app) has stopped". and it just crashes.
Please help. Is anyone else having these problems?
Their support isn't much help at this time.

hi, first of all try one thing i didnt give it a try, try shuting down the device and pressing the volume down( i think is volume down, but try volume up ) when u are trying to conect the mediatek root devicer avaiable in the downloads at mlais M4
if that doesnt work i+ll report u back , i+m on the midle of something , need 1 hour, i+ll edit the post after with my solution
if u dont want to w8 , u need to
1 allow windows 8 to install drivers from unknown sources
2 install mdtek drivers
3 how to route media tek devices
if u search xda u will be on the go, or w8 a bit

but care back camera not configured
Can't get data to work
This is so strange but I can't get data to work. Gets connected on 2 and 3G.
I checked apn, try few different ones to no avail. I tried two different working sims, both slots, to no avail.
Did two ota updates yesterday. Factory reseted as well.
I'm sure it something simple. Any ideas?

Lol, issue was with data connection which was disabled by default. Never crossed my mind to check that as it's usually enabled by default.

I think I'm going to get this phone. I can't understand why people doesn't like it. I know that the M52 is octacore but the design of this one is sooo much appealing. Sincerely, I'm not a gamer so I don't give a damn about 1Gb more, or 8 cores. @s7yler In your post you say that you flashed with MLais tool... why you didn't update with OTA?

The phone runs games perfect. There is no need for more RAM or CPU power to run most 3D games. The MLAIS M4 Note has 2GB RAM that is enough for games. You can not root it yet, it comes with Lollipop ROM only. When I tried the first OTA wirelessly on the stock ROM it failed to download (I don't know if they in the meantime fixed that - maybe?), so that's why I then flashed it manually. You just go to http://www.mlais.com/html/201505/content_181.html and download all files etc. there are also instructions step by step on MLAIS page how you should do the flashing. After that update, you can download future updates just OTA on the phone.
And here a video how to flash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lVCsWZOa4A (this one is for the M52, but it is done in the same way for the M4 Note - you just need to pick the M4 ROM instead).
Thanks man! Why do you say in your video that it is difficult to root? I guess is the same reason as for the M52 (only can be rooted when using KK)...
Rooting Info:
Rooting currently works using Kingoroot on Android 4.4.4. Once updated to Lollipop, you are no longer able to root.
Currently, xposed still doesn't work on Android 4.4.4 devices. If anyone is successful in installing Xposed post here to let everyone know.

Comparing to OnePlus One which is my daily driver only perceived difference that's noticeable is a lower earpiece volume.
Data(when I got it to work) on 3G locked to 1900 band is few mbps slower vs Galaxy S5 locked to same band. I haven't had opportunity to test B7 2600MHz LTE band.
Screen is nicer looking and more pleasing vs OnePlus one even though it's lower ppi.
Overall performance is perceived to be on par vs OnePlus. Everything runs just fine.

I have imported Mlais M4 Note to India. After inserting sim in it, It shows my sim card name but i am not able to make & receive call or sms...It show cellular network error..Also I can connect date thru that sim but can't make or receive call or sms....Please help me...Also as per some replies, I make WiFi on & checked system update...It shows 1 update of 129 mb...i also update this ...but the problem remains same...It shows DATA CONNECTION ONLY with my sim name.....What's the exact reason....Please help me dear....

Hello, I have successfully rooted the M4. I have just flashed the recovery provided by 4pda member "Sergey_Ace" by the SPflashtool (scatter file is included)
I have flashed the BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip from recovery then.

I have also successfully installed the Xposed for arm64 from THIS thread (the sdk21 version) and it is working well.

Hi, I ordered the 5.5 inch Doogee Dagger DG550 in white last week from Gearbest, I received it with DHL Express after just 3 days. I did not want to spend much, but still wanted a nice phone, so that's the reason I picked the DG550. For me it seemed to be a good choice and the design is very similar to the inew v3. Wifi & reception
The WiFi has a very good range, and it is really fast. Have used it a lot the last days and zero problems. The reception I would say is average and normal. Like on most MTK6592 phones.
Batterylife
The batterylife is very good on the DG550. I can use it over 1 day with normal usage.
It also support special power saving management (Power Saving, Lower Power Mode, Screen Saving Mode) so if you want to save the battery during the day, just activate this.

- Clear and sharp screen, real OGS/IPS, when the screen is off it is totally black!
- Vivid screen and good viewing angles. The touch sensitivity is perfect!
- The sound from the earspeaker is in my DG550 pretty loud, I don't think it is low
- The build quality seems to be good, I have no crooked corners or something like that
- It is a bit heavy in the hand, but in the nice way, feels like quality
- Supports OTA, so you can update the phone

- Very fast and good GPS

- Battery is good for 1-2 days with normal usage
- It is smooth and has stable software
- The compass works fine after you have calibrated the sensors

- No notification LED
- Does not come with Kitkat 4.4 out of the box, but you can flash it yourself
- The backcover feels just like matt thin plastic
- Soundquality and reception is average, not bad but also not super good
- No NFC or wireless charging builtin
- Only 1GB ram, but it still runs very smooth
My verdict
The Doogee Dagger DG550 is a very stylish smartphone - especially in white. It is very cheap, and for the money you get a lot of smartphone. It is hard not to be impressed about the big sharp screen when you have it in the hand. It is smooth out of the box but of course even more with Kitkat 4.4 and has no software bugs. If you want a cheap phone and does not need things like NFC and wireless charging then the DG550 is a very good choice in my opinion. I personally give it 9/10 - I love the phone!

I bought one too, but I have some issues. My phone stuck on boot and now after recovery with original rom I don't have IMEI and signal. I resolved the Imei problem but I don't have signal yet.
Other problem is some apps like Antutu do the phone restart.
Do you have a original backup and a backup made MTK Droid Tools. I sent message to Doogee support but I didn't receive answer.

Did you try 4.4 rom? Flash it with SP flash tool v5.1408.00
For imei problem you need SN Writer 2.1324.0 (google it)
Where do you live? Make sure that your carrier supports GSM 2G: 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G: WCDMA 850/2100MHz

I used this phone about 3 days with no problem. After this stuck I can't do this work perfectly again.
I tried 4.4 but the problem is the same. I resolved the Imei problem with the MTK droid tools and MTK engineering mode. I can see the corret Imei but no signal yet.

Ok that sounds strange, are you sure it is not a hardware error? Did you buy it from new?
I would try this
1. Factory reset phone completly
2. Flash new ROM
3. Wipe all caches/dalvik/factory reset again
4. Check IMEI number and SIM card.
5. If still no signal, try change to 2G only or choose manually search for network instead of automatically
Are you sure you got the correct IMEI into the phone? and you dont need MTK engineering mode.
Just have the phone rooted, then start MTK droid tools, on the first screen (where all the info is) then hit the button IMEI/NVRAM (button is only avaiable if your rooted) and a new window will popup, here you can insert the IMEI number in both fields, and save it to the phone. After that restart phone and thats it.
Regarding Antutu, did you also try Antutu X? (Antutu 5) from the Play Store.
Original ROM (it is called 4.2.9) can be found on needrom.com - just search for DG550.

Did you try these sims on another phone.
Sometimes Mobile network itself deny registration of the sim in the network due to some issues.
This happens often when you use a super sim which is used to bypass sim lock.
It can easily be resolved by putting the sim on another phone and resister in the network manually.

Contact Doogee and check if you still have warranty and send it back, your phone is not normal. I have no issues at all with mine, works perfect, even the loudspeaker is clear and loud (something which has previously been criticized).
Maybe you have a fake version. Do you have the mark on the side of the box you can scratch? to verify that it is original Doogee product?

I don't know where you have read that. But in the Doogee Dagger DG550 treads I have been following people have had no problems with the screen. And actually the screen is really good, and the sensitivity is much better than on some other Chinese phones - I have never read about anyone having screen problems. So I don't agree with that, actually this phone is really good for the very low price. And Doogee also have supported it really good.

The DG550 screen is lovely. I did manage to get a small scrape on the screen just before my case arrived, but it is really great quality.
On the subject of phone signals, I have two SIMS in mine and can get a 3G signal with either of them. The only strange thing is that, with my Virgin SIM (my main account), t works perfectly except when I'm at home. When at home, the phone thinks that I'm roaming! (Roaming is off on my account). Yesterday I was out with a good H+ signal, got home and it switched back to roaming. I can force it to reconnect an all is well, but a bit later it thinks its roaming again! Can still use data, calls and SMS and they do not show up as roaming on my account!
No problem with my Sainsbury's SIM. This is my second Virgin SIM (the first got confused when it received my old number). Both have exhibited the same weirdness.

Some carriers use internal roaming to lower the costs, its kind of weird. But how it is. The roaming problem your talking about has probably nothing to do with the phone, but more your SIM / carrier / provider.

yesterday i upgraded my dg 550 to official kitkat and i discovered some serious bugs. First my dagger makes reboot when i plug it in for charging!! Second the charging is making too much, i plug it in 4 pm with 18% and 7 pm is 70% which is too long.
In the previous 4.2.9 the dagger was 100% in less than 2 hours!
This is for me a reason to get back to 4.2.9
Now the thing that i like is ,changing the ebr files , having 7 gb space for apps. So if i downgrade could i change also the ebr files in 4.2.9 , or it want be possible?
I also received this nice phone and I am very satisfied with it. It come with 4.4.2 android_4.4_2014/09/25, but it is not rooted. I try several diferent ways to rootit but no succes. Framaroot, RootGenius, Towelroot, Baiduroot, but nothing works. Is there any way to root it without changing original rom? I also want to install TWRP or CWM for latter work with flashing roms and to make backup . Any help, please!

Yeah, but many apps are still not recognizing the 6732/6752 chipsets correct, so I guess the Geekbench app somehow doesn't show the correct info about the chipset. Because of course only the MT6752 has 8 cores.
is it normal for all batteries of this phone(including yours) to have the same serial number s/n:na1b105os/4-b-c63-b?!

Normally I would say a S/N should be unique, but regarding batteries or if it is important I have no idea.
I also see that some phones or devices are using universal S/N, meaning they have no real S/N, maybe because it is not that important?

So my Ecoo E04 is here, but serious problems making or receiving calls, get text sometimes, and can get online, but no calls
I tried using MTK Droid Tools to reinsert the IMEI numbers, but that option is grey (most likely not up to speed yet for 64bit)
Mobile Uncle wont support IMEI restore yet, I even created a Bak file but cant use it.
So if anyone has an idea on how to get the IMEI numbers back on this device please tell me
Typing *#06# shows both are invalid
Sim 1 shows radio OFF
sim 2 Shows radio ON

From where did you buy it? what does the shop say? Maybe the shop can get some code where you then can input the IMEI numbers to the phone. Does your box show the IMEIs? or on the back behind the battery.
It was a gift, and I believe it came from E-Fox Shop EDIT -(it came from Pandawill)
The IMEI numbers are both under the battery, but when I checked them they both came back as belonging to an old Nokia
Tried using MTK Engineer app to put them back into the phone, but nothing changes from "Send Command"
MTK Droid Tools needs updating, as I would normally be able to use that (nice and easy) Mobile Uncle needs updating too
Not sure what else to try right now?
I found your backup Rom on needrom do you think flashing that with SPFT would help S7yler?

Same method but you have to input the number between the quotation marks and leave a space between AT+ so it would be AT + then the usual number and letters, but where the quotation marks are at the end, make a space between these, and input the IMEI number, press send command, reboot, and check *#06# and now I have One IMEI number back, I did try to use the same method to get the second number in there, but it just changed the Phone 1 number again? perhaps as I dont have a Sim in slot Two right now.
But at least its working again

It looks like they have both pretty much the same hardware and features - except that the Ecoo has a 16mp camera, and the S3 only has a 13mp camera.
Plus, the Ecoo has a fingerprint scanner (which the S3 doesn't have).
I took a look at this video, and it looks like the Ecoo has a better display with better colors:
What I'm also interested in - how does the Ecoo compare to the Umi Zero?

The ECOO and UMI ZERO are 2 different phones, they have almost nothing in common. Hardware is different, materials are different, the size of the phone and display type is different. The ECOO is huge compared with the UMI ZERO, as it is just 5 inch and the ECOO is 5.5. Also the ECOO is made of all plastic, while the UMI ZERO is all metal and glass. Cameras are good on both, if you get a ZERO without camera problems, then the camera is a little bit better on the ZERO, but the camera on the ECOO is also very good in daylight. But all also depends on the eyes that look at it. The screen is better on the ZERO as it uses SuperAMOLED. And yes feature wise the ECOO has more to offer but is also thicker than the ZERO, which is pretty thin. But again, the ECOO has a better GPS and support for GLONASS, while the ZERO don't. So both have pros & cons.

The Ecoo makes good photo's but the 16MP is interpolated. It's very probably a 13.2MP. Sensor is finally know, it's a OV-something. The last firmware changelog gave it away.
I've had the UMI Zero from the very beginning and used it until firmware 3.06, after that I gave up and sold the phone to someone who was prepared to test and wait until the device became usable for daily life. The Ecoo does have an alloy body with plastics on the back. Front is glass mostly. UMI Zero does use Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and on the back but the glass on the back made it feel cheap. UMI Zero could have been a great phone but too much was wrong with it. And no notification-LED which I found out bothered me a lot every day.

The first impact was not bad. Probably the performance are not the top with kitkat 4.4.4, battery seems ti be poor in terms of screen on time and capacity. Good news is that on the elephone forum is available original firmware, new custom rom flyme 4.2 and philz touch recovery.

How the NFC supporting devices can be identified? Is it only a SW/driver issue or hardware topic? Thx and br
Nfc is an hardware topic, near micro sd slot on the rear, you must have two pins that connects to the rear cover with nfc antenna on it.
I have one of those non-NFC phones (don't care too much about NFC, and asked elephone.cc to send me one from the first batch to get it quicker).
My impressions after using it for almost two weeks:
Speed, smoothness is good, probably thanks to the CPU, GPU and 3GB Ram.
The main SIM card slot was too tight from the factory to insert a full size SIM card with perforated edges (so that I can pop out a micro sim size SIM) so the SIM card broke when I tried to force it into the slot.
I then got a new SIM card (thankfully I share offices with my mobile network provider...) and I first used a small tweezer to bend open the SIM card slot a bit while gently pushing in the SIM card.
That worked.
I'm not very impressed with the battery life, but maybe I'm asking for too much?
Today it's been running 10,5 hours on battery with normal use, it's now down to 6% battery level.
Maybe that's ok, I don't know.
The biggest problem is that I feel the wifi/bluetooth radio is unstable.
I got myself the new, very nice LG Urbane smartwatch 5 days ago, but it looses contact with the phone all the time so I don't get any notifications from the phone, and can't interact like placing calls etc.
I often also notice that even though the wifi icon in the top bar implies that it has almost a full wifi signal, the wifi connection is actually lost, and I have experienced several times that I'm not able to disconnect/reconnect but have to reboot the phone in order to get everything working again.
It would be good to hear from other owners, if they experience any of this or if I should first try a factory reset (I did that as soon as I received it though, as I always do when I buy a new phone/tablet), or an alternative ROM, before I start the possibly dreaded process of trying to get elephone.cc to send me a replacement.

I've had mine since it came out and purchased it from Gearbest, to replace my HTC One M7 that I couldn't relash properly.
I've only been usiing mine on Wifi with WhatsApp and gaming for the first few few weeks to get used to it.
The Wifi is weak, It cuts out quite a bit... which is real annoying when I use phone with Wifi at home.
I couldn't ge the SIM 1 Card to fit either so I just put it in the MicroSIM slot.
As for the battery I probably have too many Apps that use a lot of processing power, But I need to run it completely flat to see how long it will last.
Another thing I found is that if you do want NFC there is backcover available on Aliexpress(probably wrong spelling) that allows you to enable it. which I might get when I purchase a Glass Screen protector and Case.
Thought Id share my impressions on this phone.
First of all, I know Elephone.cc is not Elephone's oficial store as they pretend but do not order from them, seriously dont. They dont respond to support emails, Took them a week to send the phone and they sent just the phone, without the extra batery, glass screen protector and leather case, so thats $30 thrown away because they are reluctant to offer the refund for the parts they didnt send.
About the phone:
Smooth indeed, it moves nice, very nice, is fast but that is a given with the specs.
GSM reception is the worst, very very very bad, I get no signal at all in places I used to get full signal with my previous phone (a Lenovo S939)
The battery - Oh the battery, omg, I think that if I could put 2 2A batteries in it would last longer, very bad battery life, doesnt last 12 hours with mobile data one and very little use, If I use it like I used my previous phone (extremly moderate) I need to charge it every 5-6h, which is very inconvenient because Im not allways near a power source.
The fingerprint thingy, while it does work in just the right angle is useless, you have to slide my finger 10 times to scan once, I didnt even manage to set a fingerprint because it must scan it like 7 times.
The autorotate is crazy, allways goes to landscape even if you just tilt the phone a bit, and then you must turn it 4-5 times to go back to portrait, so you have to disable it otherwise you cant use the phone.
The phone is not usable while charging because the touchscreen goes nuts.
The camera ) .My very old Nokia n73 takes way better pictures that this, even my previous phone which has a lower res camera is waay better than this one (also Congrats on the false advertising for the camera - not sony and not 13mpx).
I dont think I just got a bad phone from factory, because I saw more people having issues like mine. And this is their top model at this moment with the p7000 not relesead yet.
I very much regret for purhasing this gadget (not phone cause it cant be used as one) so do yourself a favor and dont purchase any Elephone, I doubt they have any good models.
Don't agree, my sample had not the issues you wrote. Only battery is poor, but in this case i think that software support is not good, so it needs updates..
I thought Elephone would have had Lollipop available by now.

did you check with root checker to make sure, because kingoroot and iroot both told me i had root but root checker said i hadn't. assuming root checker is correct, i cant get root back and i cant use quickboot, which basically verifies no root achieved

On the crappy camera, take a look at this photo taken outside in partly overcast weather (which is supposed to be good for photographing), notice how the green colors are completely useless in the right part of the picture? And how unclear everything is?

The new version of OTA has root function. That means if you update OTA, your phone will be rooted automatically.
unfortunately, that is not the case, as i found out and have mailed them back informing of the error. not sure what response, if any, i'll get from them now.
I read somewhere that you just have to install and update SuperSU after OTA and will be fine...I DO NOT KNOW THAT. I JUST READ ABOUT IT.
But..I would like to know about other issues on this phone...WiFi, data, battery etc.

Ulefone is a Chinese smartphone OEM, and the company is currently pushing many new smartphones out to the market. The Ulefone Be Touch was released 1 month ago. Ulefone has already now announce the Ulefone Be Touch 2.
The Ulefone Be Touch 2 come with a 5.5-inch (Full HD 1920x1080, 401ppi) display (2.5D curved glass), LTE 4G support along with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable). The phone is powered by the MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor @ 1.7GHz and a 3,050mAh battery. The phone again features a 13-megapixel camera (IMX214) and a 5-megapixel on the front. Like the Ulefone Be Touch (1) it also features a home button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

Its an awesome looking phone I might be getting one but I will have to see..If I get one I will do a review.
There's a few things I really like about this phone
1.touch ID
3GB ram
3.Android 5 lollipop
There's also a flash sale at Geekbuying and other stores but you have to be quick & LUCKY to get it at the flash sale price.
Iv got the Ulefone be pure at the moment & the camera on that phone is spot on but the phone lacks lollipop rom & bigger storage I took this photo with my Ulefone be pure

Yeah I saw it. Just voted for CM as well.
The flash deals never work for me, I just accept it and bought one for 220..
on 1949deal it's the cheapest. It comes without 'free gifts' (screen protector and some sillicon sleeve-cover) which I don't want anyway. I can use that 10 bucks to buy a proper flip-cover
The Be Touch 2 has the same measurements / size as the Be Touch 1 so you can just buy those and they will fit.
I am really looking forward to this device! The fact Ulefone is active on their Facebook and tries to get some custom ROM's for their device really helps with the idea of long time support (although I have really no idea).

Ulefone plans to make custom third-party ROMs for its newest flagship Ulefone Be Touch 2.
Ulefone, first of all, is going to make one custom ROM based on the UI desired by most of its customers before start the second one. In a survey on the company’s Facebook Page, most fans voted for MIUI and Cyanogen Mod - among others like EMUI and Flyme.
“People want that it provide different interaction experiences and variable themes, and in the same time, they want it to be light for best performance"
"Ulefone now take both factors into consideration and make something people feel inspiring and good to use simultaneously" said Ulefone CEO Jason Liu.
These days, Ulefone received feedbacks involving custom ROM from many users, most of whom suggested CM.

Thanks, I guess you need be really lucky and quick adding it to cart since they have a limited units of ulefone for flash sale (only 4)
I checked yesterday for the 3 aliexpress listed on ulefone website at 23:00 GMT+8 but it seems like they were still selling on regular price.

Yeah, you need to be lucky. I tried 4 times and I wasnt even that quick that 4th time, but they just happened to have one left. Maybe get it with 30 off

No NFC
It's 4G and 2G, you don't need to swap the sim.
But one sim needs to be in 2g mode when the other one is 4g.

You have to remember that T-Mobile uses 2, 4, and 12, and a two or more new ones, but dont need to worry about those right now. Anyway, it really depends on the area where you're in and the towers. As far as root is concerned, I've yet to see a MTK CPU Devices that couldn't be rooted (of course as long as no special software is in place to block rooting.)
I have checked doesn't seem to have anything blocking but trying to figure out how to unlock bootloader is on account that their is no info on and you will likely need twrp for flash supersu to root.
I don't think their are any rooting apps that would root it.

Agreed, I keep liking this phone more and more however I just wish the camera was a lot better.
Its a really nice budget phone. Im looking at i because I want to reduce size. I currently use the Mediapad M2 8 Model: M2-802L. Its for the US, 4G LTE, but the screen is 8 inches. It wouldnt be so bad if all of a sudden i seem to became the target of everyone trying to run into me and not the thing out of my hand.
What's the difference between this and the Doogee Y6 Max? Same phone?

Thanks for the heads up, it would seem as though they are very a like. The only differences I see at this time is that iRulu is running Android 7 and the Doogee is running Android 6. Also the iRulu works on several cell carriers in the US where Doogee works with none. Still I would love to see a side by side comparison. Ill have to see if I can find someone that has both.

I am on T mobile and all I did was swap my Sim and I was good to go. I have heard of others having issues though.
I will add there are some bugs. My phone has no live wallpaper picker, like the actual software is missing. And my word suggestions get hidden behind the keyboard which is ANNOYING. No good response from irulu yet. They ignore me on the website chat. Finally got a Facebook response, we'll see where it goes.
For your reference I flashed the irulu firmware on the Doogee y6 max. Worked fine all the peripherals (camera, dialer,etc etc) worked. The only con was the camera... Very bed quality shot. Therefore I reflashed the stock Doogee firmware on it. Definitely they are same phone.

Bought 2 from Newegg @ $149 each. T-Mobile great, better than old T-Mobile Note 4. WIFI calling not so great. Camera not good at all, may have protective cover over lense i can't get off ? Hangouts & Gmail hang. Battery, would like to see an accurate measurement to confirm advertised capacity. Much better after utilizing Greenify.
Biggest thing for me is the 1mm black border around outside that does not go away in any app. Search for this youtube review (I can't submit links as a newbie) "GeoKing G3 MAX - I like this Phablet!" Right at the start you notice the border. Differs from screen shots on this thread and at IRulu site. It's only 2mm off 6.5" advertised screen size. Just distracts me a little.
Sure Doogee Y6 will get more XDA attention, they seem practically the same hardware. Wonder if a Doogee future rom would support IRulu bands. I could try flashing current Doogee rom on Irulu but I have the ability to brick things. If the Uhans Max 2 supported T-Mobile bands I think it would be better for cheaper.
For price and utility a keeper.

For your reference: I did the opposite: flashed Irulu firmware on my Doogee Y6 Max and everithing was fine. I came back to Doogee firmware since their app camera is better than Irulu' s one.

Well the CPU has to support the band and then changed in NVM (in theory as this is how it happpens with Qualcomm CPU and use QPST software). I don't believe there is anything available for MTK CPU as this would open up the market completely!! However it would be awesome to change bands
Has any body rooted this device yet??
I also would like to root this device.
Word directly from irulu itself, they do no update any of their devices and it will always be android 7.0.
There is absolutely no tech support with the company either. Best I got was a warehouse worker that tried his best to help but ultimately was unsuccessful.
As far as rooting, I tried Rooting, it was blocked and doesn't give the option to install it anyways . I changed the security setting in developer options for OEM unlocking and still no luck. As far as I know there is no recovery for this model either.

Can you do me a favor, if possible, can you port the Doogee Y6 Max over Camera app to the irulu and see if that makes ANY difference at all? Thanks
