I just set up the fingerprint lock screen, and it works just fine. I do not know have any other fingerprint related applications.

Cool, thanks for testing. Thats just what I read from other S6 threads floating around, that it would break Samsung Pay probably other apps that use security features like the fingerprint. I havent had a chance to test yet since Im not ready to root.

Hai guise

Wow 1st rom so fast, thanks NunHugger

how long is this supposed to take to boot? been waiting 12 minutes. i followed instructions. and its stuck at sprint spark screen?

Thanks for this! I had been having some serious issues trying to deodex things myself.

Shouldn't take that long. Maybe wipe and retry? I downloaded and tested this morning and she worked fine. Let me test again.

yea. i tried 3 times. no luck. wiped everything. maybe it was a bad download? but that doesn;t make sense because it flashed fine no errors in twrp.

Just downloaded a fresh copy. Wiped, installed, and it booted fine.
...did however have a Google Maps fc. Anyone who flashed have this issue?
Edit. Updating maps cures the fc. But...will add updated maps to zip tomorrow to see if it fixes the issue on boot.

I also had the maps FC but update solved it. I did have a weird issue were google play games would just sit there trying to update not allowing any other apps to update. Couldn't stop it or install any other apps while that was going on. Cleared data on playstore fixed it. Facebook is seriously bonked atm... really slow scroll/loading. Not sure if that's related though.

Yeah. I was noticing Facebook as well. Going to look into that.

How does this differ from the rom that originally comes with the phone plus the update to OCF? Whats the benefit of flashing this? I have a rooted phone with the latest TWRP recovery. Thanks

No difference really. ..other than it's been deodexed...which needs to be done to, as mentioned above, mod and theme. If you are already stock rooted, there is no benefit flashing this.

Nope...but you could remove any bloat you don't want from the zip. I was creating this as a base for a custom rom i will be working on. Wanted to leave this stock so if others wanted to use it for modding they could remove/keep what they wanted.

I have a question for you NunHugger... did you leave any files odexed when you created this? I deodexed it myself as well but had issues with Bluetooth, Nfc, playstore and most of the sprint/samsung apks. Mine booted but FC's on above mentioned.

[CUSTOM UPDATE] LG2 Patch for Custom Roms

I'm doing this from work, so I'll have to clean this up later.
Standard Disclaimers Apply. I have personally tested this on my device multiple times.
WHAT DOES THE LG2 OTA UPDATE CONTAIN?
Simply put? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Well mostly nothing, I can't fully confirm that. But I can confirm two things:
1. Removes universal search from Google Quick Search (i.e. search apps, contacts, or anything besides web)
2. Limits your Wifi and 3G horribly (made my SGS3 reject my work wifi for being too weak, with 1-2 bars)
WHAT AM I PROVIDING HERE THEN?
Well, anyone who has received the notification for the OTA knows just how frustrating it is! This should get rid of that, while also updating your modem. Any other 'patching' is removed, as well as the Google Quick Search crippling.
And most importantly, this will flash through CWM no matter what you've changed or removed, so long as you're on LF9.
HOW TO USE:
1. Do not accept OTA update.
2. Download my file to your SD card.
3. Boot into CWM.
4. Flash my file.
5. Reboot phone.
6. Accept OTA update.
7. Reboot phone once OTA fails.
DOWNLOAD HERE
Custom LG2 for Custom ROMS
This is awesome!
Side question: what does this mean for future OTA's? Will subsequent "custom updates" be needed from here on out? Thanks!
Worked perfect! Thanks!
Thanks again for the update! But my paranoid just wants to confirm I get everything flashed correctly...
I accidentally clicked "Update later" when I got prompted (step 6) because I wanted to check the device info. Now I don't get prompted to install the OTA anymore even though I didn't go through the process of downloading it. Should I be seeing the old baseband (LF9) or should that also be LG2?
Thanks!

The baseband is the modem, so LG2. If it's gone, then congrats. Everything else is in place. The only reason the notification remains in the first place, is because the update didn't go through the Android updater.

I have flashed new ROMs but I still have the Baseband version of L710VPLEN.... I assume I need to flash both OTA updates in order to change my Baseband. If I'm not mistaken, flashing those updates will update my Baseband, but will also un-root my phone. Is there a way to update the baseband without losing root? Thanks for that clarification. I understand that this zip kills the update nag but does it also update the baseband to LG2 where people are having wifi and 3G issues? If so it would be nice to just have a nag killer zip? Or edit the build.prop to show LG2 so that the system thinks its updated?

Incremental update for cyanogenmod!

You can now makes incremental update for every build of cyanogen!
Cyandelta downloads only modified files and create a new rom with them by using your old rom file.
So, be sure to have a CM9/10 rom file in your possession first and Cyandelta will determine what kind of updates you want (nightlies, M2, etc.).
It's very pratical when you want to download an update over 3G or 4G, the update varies between 4-20 Mb!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyandelta
Looks promising, might try it out.
Thanks for the share.

Don't flash directly via CyanDelta, go directly to recovery and go in the CyanDelta folder to flash it. It's a bug for now. I use CWM 6.0.1.2

Not true. Works just fine dirty flashing and its even recommended if you read the CM10 thread.

Yeah, in fact, one of the cyan devs was ranting about users who do "unnecessary" things, like clearing the cache(both) or doing full wipes. I'm guessing those things are not required if performing minor updates.
Regarding the issues with flashing in CWM, apparently this is because most versions only allow scripts to be run from RomManager. It should work just fine in TWRP or by manually flashing from the CyanDelta folder.
Just a quick warning for users of the hacked of Google Wallet, this install will remove Google Wallet from your device since it is installed in the system folder. If you use Cyandelta nightly, you will need to reset Wallet before updating and repeat the install with the build.prop edit afterward.

How to fix sensors in jellybeer/jellybam/aosp/cm10 ROMs.

This is a quick and easy way to restore your sensors if they aren't working.
1. From aosp rom Go here and download Note2Core_7105_v2.21_STD.zip
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. Flash the downloaded note2core
4. Reboot into system. Wait. It will boot. After it gets done. Don't unlock. Just push a button to turn the screen on (if needed) hit OK to all the errors. When the errors go away do not unlock.
5. Hold power for 3-4 seconds. And select reboot->recovery
6. Flash aosp ROM.
7. Flash gapps.
8. Reboot into system.
9. Profit.
Credit and thanks go to antiochasylum and Skyler2dope.
antiochasylum for the note2core kernel.
Skyler2dope for the find.

Uh no I don't believe that's the case cause it was real glitchy the days leading up to gettanding this. Messenger would freeze and fc along with Internet. Can't Judge on battery life yet but it seems about the same.
Its def smoother, as a matter of fact smoother than my s4 hopefully Samsung gets the 4.3 update right

I do not know about smoothness or battery but after updating, Bluebox Security Scanner shows I am patched for both the 8219321 and the 9695860 bugs. I cannot remember which one it was but before the update I was only patched for one. Root also survived.
Just curious how the update isnt breaking root. It is breaking mine, just on stock with UCAMA4 rooted fine, grabs the update and installs and *poof*, no root
OK, maybe I'm just really really stupid (probably HAHA) but every time I've tried to DL this and the thing reboots, it reboots into TWRP, and there I'm stuck - would have thought it would have tried to install itself outside of TWRP recovery, or am I really missing some point here?
OTA update requires stock recovery to install.

I did a recovery install via Kies to get my Note 2 back to stock which removed root. I then made my phone download software updates which now has it at 4.1.2 with Baseband Version I317UCAMH3. I changed the day numerous times and tried Software Updates again but it says I am now at the most current version so I then rooted the phone again! Mine still has the ripple lockscreen as well. +1 There are a number of folks posting they took the MH3 OTA update... what is being asked here is if one of you could kindly post the OTA update file (i.e., on dropbox, then share the dropbox link). In the past, ATT OTAs were stored in " /cache/fota" folder. There are folks here on XDA who can extract the kernel... extract the modem... etc from that OTA and repackage in flashable zips for the rest of the community to try (those who either cannot get the MH3 OTA to download/install... or for those who do not want to flash back to stock in order to take the MH3 OTA). Can someone who has updated to MH3 take a look (via your favorite file explorer) and see if they still have the MH3 update in /cache/fota folder? Thanks.

I have and have tried to answer most. I been on 4.4 from day 3 no issues. So many people dirty flashing not following rules flashing kernels from 4.3 on 4.4. I have seen so many dumb moves that all could of been avoided by reading.
TWEAKED N3
That's probably accurate. Most of the problems probably could have been avoided by reading.

well i was instructed how to properly update which i knew how to but wasn't quite sure about boot-loaders. but what gets me is i flashed the factory image and even on stock with no root, no rom, no kernel i had issues with network dropping, FC'ing apps, random reboots daily, Samsung Knox still causing issues daily (i deleted all apk + odex), only Philz recovery decided to work too TWRP 2.7 4.4 Boot loader edition wont work for anything nothing gets applied at all in that recovery. The only good thing KK has given me is slightly better battery.
YET on 4.3:
Stable, Works, No Samsung Knox issues, Working Recoveries, No network issues, No audio crackling issues
The only reason im still on KitKat is the fact that im waiting for a ROM that will be actually good that's near stock and odexed.
I rooted and updated using the cf easy update. Followed all steps. Noticed there was no network so I switched Sims, still no network. I factory reset , still no network. So I tried flashing just the new modem all via Odin 3.09 still nothing.

Hit thanks by accident. ...but I was gonna say I had the opposite experience. ...got my n3 from tmo about 3 weeks ago with 4.3 and had random reboots. ...no root or custom recovery. ..jumped on kitkat when it dropped and rooted, debloated and threw custom recovery on it and now No reboots, wifi issues, imei loss, or any of the other issues I've seen people report.
I remember back in my og evo days on one of the forums....that suddenly it arose that many people thought they were doing full wipes and turned out their idea of full wipe meant cache and dalvik.....they didn't realize they needed to wipe system and data......so my point is that there usually tends to be issues based on people's different approaches to upgrading though they swear they followed directions.

You need to start all over. Watch the step by step video. Either Philz or twrp as recovery.

Maybe I got lucky. It's been great using both slimkat 8.5 and Jedi 1.1 kk roms.

well i can say i have had android since Samsung moment dropped on Sprint haha so i know what im doing and know a lot about linux and such. its just i like to ask people how they did their process as it might work better than another persons' idea of "how to".
i just know that KK in general is a big mess, regardless of those who say its better, there are more people with problems that aren't user related.

You shouldn't have to that zip I posted (linked earlier in this thread) clears the efs so th phone can rebuild it on boot. Samsung must have gotten sick of getting corrupted efs phones for warranty service so they built in a method for the phone to restore it. Problem is it only works once the efs has been cleared. As mentioned before it is at your own risk but I can confirm it worked for me .

1. If you are using an unofficial version of a rom then please check if it has know issues. (the developer usually lists them on the rom page)
2. Use Odin to reflash your original files.
3. They are available. Just search for them on google with your model number.
4. This should solve your signal problem.
5. Now reroot following a proper guide.
6. Flash an official version of a rom or if not available a rom with lesser issues. Current many unofficial kitkat ports have signal problems and blue tooth problems.
