[INFO] Jiayu S3 power up modes to recovery factory etc - JiaYu S3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi
Having just got my hands on the Jiayu S3 it has some similar features to other phones for powering up into factory or recovery mode with some quirks.
Factory Mode
I can not translate myself.

How to get there?
Power off phone
Hold power and volume down
when you feel vibration or see splash screen release power button but keep holding volume down.
Select menu items by volume down
Action your selection by power button
TIP, reboot phone is the last entry in the menu.
RECOVERY MODE
Is achieved by going into a bootloader mode.
this offers a menu with the following menu
Recovery
Fastboot
Normal
Image is fuzzy as its difficult to focus on it.
BEWARE font is tiny and difficult to read without magnify glass!
bootloader menu is about one nineth of the screen height
How to get there?
Power off phone
Hold the power and volume up
when you feel vibration release power button and continue to hold volume up
Select menu items by volume up
Action your selection by volume down
.....YES its not the same as Factory mode
more to follow later when I can take some decent screen shots
LONG PRESS POWER
You may be aware that while in either mode, long press the power button will for some options allow the phone go thru a reboot.
I just tested factory mode second last option, unfortunately it still treats the long press as
action current selection but then shutdowns and reboots
so don't try it on a factory reset unless thats what you want as you risk soft brick
good luck

Thank you for info, really nice!

I have added a long press power option to first post that might assist for some people. YMMV

Hello Guys,
I need help... I was mad because not been able to 1080p or 60fps playback on youtube. I decided to change the ro.build.version release from 4.4.4 to 5.. When I reboot the phone battery was on 1% (it was on 46% before) Then i used the backup of the build.prop and replaced it. Then i reboot the phone. The problem is that now i cannot turn it on. It stays loading with the Jiayu logo. Sorry for my bad english, i speak spanish.
Thank you

Unlock bootloader without volume keys?

Hey everyone,
I've got a Desire HD and I was unlocking the bootloader via the HTC Dev method but i ran into a problem - I can't finish the final step because my phone's volume buttons are broken. Is there any way to circumvent this or does this simply mean I can't do it. My WiFi and Bluetooth don't work either and the rear speaker just stopped working 2 days ago.
What is the final step?

go to settings apps development tick usb debugginh
open cmd and cd to adb then type
adb reboot bootloader
then press power button
wait for it... it should say hboot usb plug
press it again and the red bit should say fastbootusb (i know it says it first time, but do this anyway)
then continue
the final step is to flash unlocktoken.bin
then in the phone you have to press yes(i don´t remenber if it´s the default option) if not, then you can´t go away with broken volume buttons. you need to select yes whit vol+ and then press power

Yeah, that's what I meant. I can get into the bootloader with "adb reboot bootloader" and fastboot is the default option so no volume key required there. Its the screen in the image where I have to confirm the unlock. It's not the volume rocker as the buttons are unresponsive even when i use something else to press them. So there's really no other way? Can I possibly downgrade low enough to use an older exploit?
Maybe you can downgrade the main version using fastboot mode and then flash an older ruu, but i'm not sure if it's possible or not

Permanent Safe mode on Xperia s

Hi. My sony xperia S is stuck in a permanent Safe mode. Tryed to install different ROMS, pressing different buttons during the start of the device, taking off the battery and etc.
It appears that the phone goes in that mode because of a malfunction in the VOLUME down button (it doesnt work). I dont want to repair it, dont have the money and i use this phone for trying different ROMS.
So here's the question . Is there a way to DISABLE safe mode? It doesnt bother me that the volume down button doesnt work, i want my phone to be ok for daily use.
Thanks for your attention.

I have an idea bro!
From wich I understand if your problem is caused by broken volume key(assume that its keep pressing during boot and force the device in safe mode) maybe you should try to disable it
If you already have root access you may try to browse to /system/usr/keylayout
There are some files with .kl format that map the device keys
In my phone (X Z1) the volume key info is in the Generic.kl
Key 114 and 115

If you put a # before the volume up/down line it will be actually disable the volume key function
Dont know if this gonna help you or not,but you may just want to give it a shot

How to enter Recovery mode, with Verizon?

Can someone help me get into recovery mode on my Verizon G4? I want to clear the cache.
I have read to turn it off, then press & hold Power and Volume Down, until the LG logo appears. Then release only Power, then press & hold Power again, until the recovery screen appears. And I'd swear I'd gotten in this way on a previous Verizon G4.
But I can't get it to work on this phone. Either on software 610B, or having just upgraded to 611A. It either just boots up normally, or if I keep holding Power, it seems to just reboot again.
What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the basic question, but I've tried it a bunch of times, with no success.

It's probably the same as the g3. I would just hold volume down and power until the stock recovery popped up. Not letting off at all.
That did it, thank you! That was easy. And this was different than what I had read elsewhere.

I originally read the way you described first for my g3. So you can only go with the info given. I just happen to figure out just holding them works best. If you have root access just get quick boot from the play store. Makes it easy to get into custom recovery.

Easiest way is to go to: Settings>Storage>Click on "Cached data">YES.

I tried to use both wipe options from menu but it doesn't change anything.
I was trying to force firmware update with Apply update from SD Card in the menu.
But it says Footer is wrong and Signature verification failed
I dunno what was the stock rom to take, just put the same than the one displayed in Recovery Mode (MMB29K.T800XXU1CPK2) but i'm not sure about the language version to use, i already test UK and FRENCH but same error message.
How can i know the good stock rom version and language to download please ?
Do you know another way to fix my issue ?
Best Regards.

You need to use ODIN not recovery to flash official firmware.

Galaxy A50 stuck on launch menu and cant access download mode.

Hey guys, today i made the horrible mistake to root my Galaxy A50... Long story short, it completly failed and now i think i bricked my device.
I have already downloaded the stock ROM and odin3 to install it but i am not able to do it because i can't access download mode.
To be more precise, i see the image linked below. When i try to force shut down my device, it does close for a second and then it vibrates and opens by itself at the same state. While launching i have tried all the volume up-down and power button combinations to open the download mode but everything fails. Note that i managed to open download mode in order to root my device but now it doesn't work.
Since i have no way of entering download mode in order to flash the stock rom using odin how can i fix my device?
The main image i see:

Thanks for your time, any help is kindly appreciated!

Okay so i managed to fix this. At first vol down and power would not turn off the device. It would start again by itself so i wasn't able to press volume up+down together. The solution was to let its battery die and then try that while connecting that to the computer and it worked just fine, i managed to get into the download mode and fix it. Thanks for the help!
