Giving it a go. Biggest ROM file I've ever seen.
Is the Hybridmax kernel compatible with i337 as-is, or did you have to change some things?

As is, nothing changed.

Installed via TWRP after a full wipe. Sat at the ATT splash screen for a couple minutes, as per the OP.
No issues so far, all my apps are re-downloading right now. Good stuff, thanks.

Went from 4.2.2 [MDL] rooted, TWRP, Goldeneye to this directly! Worked perfectly

If i flash this ROM, will it lock the bootloader? or this bootloader is unlocked so if i dont like it i can just flash a custom firmware back in???

It won't lock. That's the point of this ROM.
Sent from my SGH-I337

Will this ROM work with other variants such as I337M, I337Z, I9505?

Could I install Xposed with this?

Once I hit the lightning bolt it goes to black screen then boots to stock recovery. Running I337UCUEMK2. Did this one instead http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-to-i337oc3-5-0-1-keeproot-t3075814?nocache=1 and it worked!

I used KeepRoot method to update to 5.0.1
If I flash this ROM will I be able to flash TWRP and custom AOSP based ROMS
If yes, then how?

Came across an issue where the AUX volume is extremely low. Anyone else seeing this, or know of a fix?

[SGH-I747/M] CF-Auto-Root

Check your device model ! Settings -> About device -> Model number. See the third post for exact supported model numbers. If your device is a totally different model, it will not work (may even brick) !
CF-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock Samsung firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root.
Donate
CF-Root has been available for many devices and has clocked over 8 million downloads. This is not even counting custom ROMs that already include it. Don't be a leech, buy me a beer (and use the "Thanks" button!). Imagine if every CF-Root user has donated me $1...
What's installed
- SuperSU binary and APK
- Stock recovery
Installation and usage
Flash the CF-Auto-Root package as PDA in ODIN (details on how to do that are in next post), and your device should reboot into a modified recovery (signified by a large red Android logo) and it will install SuperSU for you and restore the stock recovery, and reboot back into Android.
If you don't get to the red Android logo, boot into recovery manually ("adb reboot recovery", or boot while holding Power+VolUp+Home).
Using this root increases your flash counter. You should run Triangle Away (see below) after rooting to reset the counter. Note that if you want to run custom kernels or custom recoveries, your flash counter will be set to 1 at every boot. Either configure Triangle Away to reset the counter at every boot (Play version only) or only reset the counter when you need to go into warranty.
Did you see the red Android logo during rooting, but SuperSU does not appear? This may sometimes occur due to left-over files and settings, however, you can usually install SuperSU from Google Play at this stage and it'll just work.
Not included - Triangle Away
Triangle Away can be used to reset the flash counter after installing CF-Root. The flash counter keeps track of how many custom firmwares you have flashed, as this voids warranty. (No idea what this about ? Read up on it, you will want to use this !)
Not included - adbd Insecure
As this CF-Root does not include a custom kernel, adb shell does not have root access by default (you can still get it by typing su inside the shell), nor is adb remount supported, nor will adb push and adb pull work on system files. adbd Insecure can be used to remedy this situation. (No idea what this is about ? Don't worry about it !)
CF-Auto-Root homepage
http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
CF-Auto-Root main thread
[CENTRAL] CF-Auto-Root
For requests for new roots and generic discussion - please keep device specific discussion in the thread you are viewing now.
No CWM and such ?
I have personally moved away from permanent custom recoveries, and I am no longer supporting them. On newer devices they cause flash counter and OTA flashing issues. If you really want one, others do provide versions of CWM and TWRP for most devices. Personally I just use Mobile ODIN to install ZIPs and Titanium Backup for my backup/restore needs. I do always want root though, and as such I'm still supporting CF-Auto-Root as quick way to root.
ODIN Installation (detailed)
- Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Unzip the attached Odin3-vX.X.zip file
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)
- NOTE: Sometimes the device does *not* boot into recovery mode and root your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, pull the battery, and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.
New to Samsung? Unfamiliar with Odin? Think all the above is a hassle? Get used to it. It's very simple, and us Samsung folk use Odin (or Mobile ODIN ) for everything! It's so very very convenient once you get used to it. Notice the 30 second comment above? For experienced users, the entire process indeed takes only 30 seconds!
You may now optionally want to install and run Triangle Away to reset the flash counter.

Nevermind...Same thing!!!
Out of curiosity, is Mobile ODIN essentially the same as ROM Manager but for stock recovery? Can you flash AOSP builds, modems, kernels, or anything while just using Mobile ODIN?

PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Here is a thread to root your phone that works also!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833579
What I did to root my phone, because I didn't follow the above post, --- because I didn't look hard enough in the forums!
Also, If you want to overclock your phone use this guide -
Download and the extract the boot image - i927R-boot-ardatdat-AA.img.tar

Flash the STOCK ROOTED ROM using my (steps below)
1. Download Odin - Odin 3.07 --- Not a must for rooting but great tool to have!
2. Download CWM6 - There are newer versions but I know this works! - Thanks AndyYan - CWM6.0.1.2
Original thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34479219
3. Downloaded - Stock Rooted UCLJ3 ROM - STOCK ROOTED UCLJ3 ROM - Android 4.0.4
4. Place the zipped STOCK ROOTED folder on your External SD Card --- In the root of the sdcard --- what that means is don't put it in a folder! - You can do this by putting your card in your computer or laptop, if you have a media reader or usb adapter Buy One Here - once its on the external sd card place it back in the phone
5. Boot into CWM6 -
5a - Power off phone
5b - Power up phone while holding the down volume key - This boots you into CWM6
6. Once in CWM6 you can update to the ROOTED STOCK ROM
7. Select - Install zip from sdcard
8. Select - choose zip from external sdcard
9. Select - UCALJ3 - Stock.zip
From there just follow the prompts if any!
Once the update is done all should be well!
If I failed to credit anyone or their forum post please let me know!
Just an addition: if you're already on a stock ROM (without ROOT) and want to root without changing the ROM you're now using, just not flash the Stock UCLJ3 zip and instead flash the latest SuperUser or SuperSU zip found floating around the Internet.

Hi friend "AndyYan" then if I have a stock ROM installed as non-root in my case is that ICS 4.0.4 update through Kies, I can then just install direct CWM6 SD-card or necessarily need to use Odin.
Since I am not very clear because download Odin? supposedly the stock ROM if I will install directly to SD-card and run with CWM6 there?
Excuse my ignorance, but I'm too new, and I'm afraid to leave my phone useless?
Thanks

Updated via KIES, right? Then you need Odin to flash CWM. You can't get CWM directly from SD.

Thanks, but what if I do the steps indicated by the friend "ll81702", because as I said I have already ICS 4.0.4, cause some conflict if I restart the UCLJ3 ROOTED STOCK ROM - Android 4.0.4 indicating the guide or only one set you need superuser or SuperSU and of course install with Odin the CWM6.0.1.2, which option would you recommend
Thanks...
I am not sure I understand your question. Can you rephrase?
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
I think skynet is trying to say that because he already has the stock firmware, would the rooted one conflict with his current one, and he would like your input on whether to install the superuser.zip or the cwm via Odin.
Sent from my SGHI927 using Tapatalk
If you just want to root your phone you just need to load cwm6 using Odin then place the superuser zip on your sdcard. Boot into cwm6 and load the zip.

Exactly as it says the friend "LaizureBoy", but what would happen if I use the method of the guide, I could return it to its normal state (without root), because as I see the method of Friend "ll81702" the UCALJ3-Stock.zip this is STOCK ROOTED, for as I understand this would only be root, then you can not remove the root
Thank you for your comments and support. :good:

Thank you II81702 and AndyYan. I have the SGH-I927... I originally used ODIN to flash the carrrier free kernal... but I noticed something strange- upon reboot, it just came up with the Samsung logo and stopped there.
I was then able go into download mode again and flashed the at&t rooted ROM from the OP on 12-6-11. When it rebooted, it got hung on the samsung logo as well.
I then flashed the CWM6 and then booted up in recovery mode.
I installed the Stock Rooted UCLJ3 ROM from the external sd card and then rebooted.
now when it first reboots, it starts out with the samsung logo then 10 sec later, it get brings up the word ANDROID and gets hung there...
So am back to square one. : crying:

[GUIDE] How To Update To Nougat, Install TWRP and Root

Nougat TAR File Now Available!
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767156558
Things You Need To Know First
There are two variations on the 3-button method (also known as the "three-finger salute."
Volume Down + Home Button + Power puts you into Download mode.
Volume Up + Home Button + Power puts you into Recovery mode.
You will need Odin, which is here. With your phone in Download mode, Odin allows you flash firmware files (also called TAR files) and Recovery images. Odin is available from here: http://www.samsungodindownload.com/ Any version that starts with 3.10 (like 3.10.6) is fine. No need to update. Put the Odin files where you can find them
Getting Started
If you are on stock and have not rooted or changed the Recovery on your phone, go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, System Updates, Download manually. That should get you to Nougat. We'll come bac to this in a bit.
If you are Rooted and have TWRP installed, you have the option of a Clean Install. Which I recommend as this is a major update. This will wipe your settings and apps, you will need to begin all over, but it is worth the inconvenience. You can use Titanium Backup (TiBu for short) to back up apps and data, but you run the risk of things not working right. Your choice.
1) Download the Nougat TAR file and put that in your Odin directory.
2) To do a clean install, go to TWRP. Wipe, Advanced Wipe, then select Dalvik, System, Data and Internal Storage. WARNING! This is going to wipe everything, so back up your pictures, chat logs, etc. FIRST! Don't leave TWRP after this.
3) Still in TWRP, go to the Reboot menu. Select Download. Your phone should now be in Download mode.
4) Connect your cable, open Odin and select AP and point it to the QC7 file. Click start and wait awhile. This is rewriting your Recovery and operating system. It is going to take some time. Your phone should reboot.
5) Once you are done, you should be on Nougat. You will need to log in, like you were setting up a new phone.
6) Now to install TWRP and Root. Power your phone down. Once it is shut down, use Volume Down + Home Button + Power to get back into Download mode. Grab the TWRP TAR file from here: https://dl.twrp.me/zerofltespr/ Put that in your Odin directory as well, but wait before flashing. Open Odin, go to Options and de-select Auto Reboot. We don't want the phone to reboot until we root it first. Otherwise it will overwrite the TWRP file and return to stock recovery. Now we can flash the TWRP TAR.
7) Your phone will still be in Download mode. Hold the Volume Down + Home Button + Power buttons until the phone shuts down. It takes some seconds, don't panic.
8) After shutdown, hold the Volume Up + Home Button + Power to get into TWRP. Grab the root file from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/root-s6-nougat-supersu-t3570740 (don't forget to thank @dr.ketan for his work) and copy that to your phone. Flash in TWRP and reboot.
9) You now have a nice, clean, Nougat install with Root and TWRP.
Let me know your comments and if there are any steps that I need to modify.

Yes. I did this and I'm not having any issues or battery drain problems. You'll have the best experience if you do wipe, though. I'd do a backup either way just in case.

Glad that this is working out for everyone. I'll be gone most of next week on a work trip. I'll check in on my return.
Have fun with Nougat!

Check on the Xposed thread, this is only for TWRP and Root. (I don't use Xposed, I'd be as likely to tell you the wrong thing as I would be to help.)
As of February, I heard that it wasn't ready. See http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...r-says-be-patient-a-nougat-version-is-coming/
But again, I just don't know for sure.
Yeah, there is still no xposed for nougat now. What a pity.

How in the world do you enjoy YouTube?!

I got the OTA update today, but the build number I received is G920PVPU4DQC7, not the QB1 listed above. It is definitely Nougat 7.0.
Is the original post a copy/paste from an earlier version?

QB1 is the latest TAR file available. To get to Nougat you need to take the OTA. Which is why the instructions say "Connect to your network and follow the instructions above about System Updates. Once you are done, you should be on Nougat."

There is hacked APK available that removes ads for those who don't have Xposed. Works just fine for me.
Does it play in the background as well?

[RECOVERY LOCKED/Nougat/7.0][G955U/W] Safestrap Recovery v4.09 B01 [Apr 19, 2019]

Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Snapdragon)
PLEASE READ READ READENTIRE OP
"ALL MAJOR WORK DONE BY HASHCODE SO GO GIVE HIM SOM THANKS.DO NOT POST ANY BUG OR ISSUE COUSED BY THIS RECOVERY IN ORIGINAL THREAD BY HASHCODE, POST HERE AND I WILL HELP YOU."
CURRENT PROJECT STATUS:
BETA v4.09-B01 [Nougat:7.0]
WHAT IS SAFESTRAP?
Safestrap is a Bootstrap / Recovery for locked bootloader phones. The goal is to avoid touching your primary system (I'll call this "stock" system) and only flash or make large changes to another place on your phone that Safestrap treats as a "2nd system" (in this case, it's a series of virtual ROM slots located on the internal emmc area: "/sdcard"). Once installed, you will see a "Splashscreen" giving you the option to hit "menu" to enter recovery. The recovery portion of Safestrap is now based on TWRP 3.2.1 (a touch based recovery) and you can perform .zip installs, backups and restores here. The additional features I've added to TWRP are mostly located under the "Boot Options" menu:
Here you can create virtual ROM-slots for flashing ROMs. NOTE: The bigger you make the /data partition the less room you will have to make other ROM-slots.
You can activate a new ROM-slot by choosing the slot you wish to make active and then selecting the "Activate" button. Once active, you will see the "rom-slot#" up in the top of the screen shown in green. If you make the "stock" ROM active, then you can see it in the top shown in red.
Once a ROM-slot is active, all actions you would normally perform using TWRP are directed to that ROM-slot. For example, "Install" to flash a .zip, backup and restore.
HOW DO I INSTALL SAFESTRAP?
Requirement: Root
APK install:
Once installed, open up the Safestrap application, Agree to the disclaimer that you won't try to sue me and hunt me down with a rifle if you manage to break your phone..
Then use the "Install Recovery" button. You should see the current version down in the lower left corner of the window. And the "Status:" should say "Installed" when you're done.
From there you can reboot and you *should* see a new splash screen during the boot up. While this is showing you can enter Safestrap Recovery using the [ menu ] button.
Flashable zip:
Flash using Safestrap recovery or FlashFire.
HOW DO I ENTER RECOVERY?
During each reboot a splashscreen will be displayed showing whether the device is running a rom-slot or on the "Stock ROM".
Press the button shown on the screen to either enter "RECOVERY" or "CONTINUE" booting (or the hard button underneath each option).
HOW DO I UPGRADE SAFESTRAP?
APK:
Push the APK up to your sdcard.
Boot back into the "stock" rom-slot.
Open your old Safestrap app and use the "Uninstall Recovery" button
Browse to where you pushed the APK
Click on it and install like normal
Once installed, open the APK, Grant SU access, Use the "Install Recovery" button.
Flashable zip:
Flash using Safestrap recovery or FlashFire.
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Sometimes the installation doesn't work correctly. If you don't see the splashscreen after a rebooting. Install Safestrap again.

WARNING: Safestrap is heavily modified to be "Safe" for your device. Do not download TWRP from their website and expect it to work the same way. Also TWRP does not support Safestrap, tho some issues that may come up will be TWRP dependant, please try and contact myself or look on the forums for your device for answers before hunting down TWRP people. They won't be able to help w/ Safestrap specific questions.
Special Thanks To
@Hashcode, DeesTroy & TeamWin for all their hard work making TWRP such a fantastic recovery.
@jrkruse for pointing me that S8 has permissive root. @partcyborg for getting root on S8.

So downgrade - flash PartCyborg's rom, I think it's doable while on Oreo. Don't quote me on this though. I'll just be very sad if it's not possible.

Just to clarify, when I downgrade from 8.0 to 7.0 to obtain root, boot the rooted ROM then
install busybox and safestrap.apk before reflashing Oreo and that will run alongside Rooted QL1 in a second ROM slot under safestrap?? I apologise if I misread instructions, it's been a while as I haven't used safestrap since my s3 years ago
Edit: just saw the ROM slots not working, and the new Oreo modified thread. Lol

@afaneh92 Do you have sources for this recovery? As in how did you get it to work with android 7 when safestrap support ended in KK. I'd like to boot it on LP+.

Here its
https://github.com/mohammad92/android_bootable_recovery-safestrap
We have permissive root on S8, S8+ and Note 8 thats why its working on 7.0+
Would this allow us to flash magisk? Or a custom kernel?

Thank you. So as long as you can get root and make the selinux permissive it should work?

Could a Dev make a DT and possibly build a rom with this new freedom to flash things? Cause as far as I know all you need is a DT and a way to compile and you should be fine right? Or will the whole no custom kernel thing prevent that.
Would I be able to install this on Nougat, and then update to Oreo and keep it installed?
Then from there add a Nougat ROM with root so that I could update it and use my root stuff.
This is awesome! Recovery is working great so far! Pls let me know of any roms working with this method I can't wait to try it out!

[GUIDE]How to revert back to STOCK without PC

Hi in this thread I am going to explain a few steps to get back to STOCK when you are in CUSTOM ROM
.....NO PC Required.....
.....ROOT REQUIRED....
.....Charge upto 60.....
Note:-
-Need root with SuperSU or Magisk(<v14.2) or CM/Lineage SU for Working
-FlashFire Development is stopped and may not work on newer android versions.. I tested it on Nougat and Marshmallow only
0. Take Backup before continuing.
1. Download the stock ROM for your specific device and keep it in your Internal or sd card.
2. Download "Flash Fire" app
3. Grant SuperUser permission and Tap on + icon, select wipe option and by putting it default tap on on the top right corner.
4. Again Tap on + , select Firmware Package that you downloaded before.
5. After scanning archive deselect Recovery and tap on on the top right corner.
6. Finally tap on FLASH.
After a minute or two the process begins....
If not pull down the battery and restart as usual and repeat same after charging over 60%.
Note:- Internal Storage is not wiped after flashing in S4 mini so don't worry about it....
That's it....
I tested many times in my mobile I9192....because I don't have PC ????

Must it be Custom ROM?
For example, if i want to upgrade my Stock ROM to a newer version?

No need to be in a custom rom...
It is very powerful app...
If you dont know how to flash stock rom and unbrick your device... dont use FlashFire app...
You can use that app for upgrading to newer version too..

I do know those. It's just i'm temporary separated from my computer right now, and as i've heard, ROM flashing should only be done via bootloader level ( e.g through ODIN... ).
