[THEME][PORT] AOKP Build 36 Confirmed working on 37- GrapeGum Theme [05/23/12]

GrapeGum Port
This is only a simple port. I am still learning. All images were from pauljohnson75's GrapeGum theme, so if some images don't seem to match exactly color-wise, that is just how I pulled them. I will continue to theme apps and adjust the colort matching. Wanted to get this rolling.​

No problem. Still needs work. It was for gummy and the file structure is just a wee bit different in some areas. I am still trying to figure out where the image is for the blue lines in the notification bar. I will keep researching. In the meantime, I'll try to get a little better color matching in some areas. His theme is actually beta status. So if he gets to it first, I'll implement.

Ahhhhhh. I thought you were gonna wait for yellow to come out. Will have it ready by tomorrow. Was gonna add all kinds of stuff to it, decided against it. All I have left is framework-res. This one looks good as all get out though, great job kbizzle.

I'm not running 37. So I can't test. I have heard of two people saying it works on 37. If you want to try and tell me if it does, I'll add it to the op.

It does work on 37 Kbizzle .

I've got it working on B37. But it breaks the screen off animation. I'm not sure why, and I can't figure out how to fix it either.

Also is there any way us lazy folk can manually add themes into the chooser? I find it kind of odd that the only thing in the chooser is the default theme.

The theme chooser is a little buggy. I havent tried it on 37 yet so I am not sure if it is working now. Also, I havent learned how to build for the theme chooser yet.

Injected by VRThemer​
Details:
This theme was built for Insertcoin rom, but should work on any rom.
It uses the VRThemer which injects the images into the apk's. Meaning your tweaks will not be affected.
Instructions:
Flash your rom normally with all your tweaks.
Let your rom boot up.
Select the correct download.(There are 2. 1 for Inter,AT&T,VZW & TMO. The other is for Sprint.
Flash the theme in recovery. No need to wipe.
If your phone sticks on the boot screen, just hold the power button till it reboots.

Hey guys. Here's a little something to compliment the theme.
Should work on all version releases or TWRP. Enjoy!
Instructions:
Create a folder in the TWRP folder on your internal storage and name it theme
Copy the ui.zip file to the theme folder and reboot to recovery

All insercoin perfect, I refer some suggestions:
. - Add icons such as gmail, earth etc.
. - In the phone application, add black background in contact, groups and last calls.
. - In settings, black background, respecting the icons that are simply fantastic
Excuse the post, but it really was eager for a black mod for this rom.

Nice suggestions. You must really like your black. lol. But I am working on a lot more images. I should have an update soon. the only problem with theming market apps is they update so fast. It's hard to keep up. But I will try. :good:

I have not looked at that rom. But it should work. Worst case, you won't get all the images themed. This just injects images to the apk's. If the chef changed any of the apk images or recompiled them differently then just those images won't be replaced. I doubt that would happen.

I found "bugs", or something that you forgot :
- In the settings menu, the power icon is always green like stock.
- The B for Beat icon is too much dark, a grey icon will be better because we can't see it in the music app, or in the appdrawer.
- The icon + to add a contact when you tap the avatar in sms app is stock too.
It's a great theme ! Nice work btw, i love it :laugh:

Just place the zip file in your mobile, reboot to recovery, flash and enjoy (No need to wipe)
​BACKUP your system (NAND via recovery) or original apk before flashing, so u can use it 2 go back 2 previous state.
It is your choice and your responsibility
Pls. verify what rom and Bulid do u use and your phone model, to check compatibility
If u liked the theme just hit Thank You button, and if u did not like it (Realllly!!!) just leave in peace, do not flash and come later asking how 2 remove it
NOTE: theme does not include any mods and I do not do any mods, so do not ask 4 any mods

:good:

Atm only systemui.apk and secsettings.apk have been modified.....if you want...you csn easily make a backup of those 2 apks and rename them to something like "systemui.apk.bak" is what I do.
That way if you dont like or are unsure of yourself you can always replace them wth the originals.
Or just make a nandroid prior to flashing.

So awesome love all the detail one request if you can is there anyway you could make one that leaves the Signal Bar and the Reception type that you are getting like 4g/lte 4g edge etc etc leave those white....... Just looks odd those 2 beings blue while the rest white ?? If is not 2 much of a hastle or any instructions on how to make those 2 white again like kitkat has them stock

Do u mean that some data signal icons are white not blue? which ones? it should be all blue: 2g, 3g, 4g, lte. 4g lte. can u provide a screen shot 4 that?

ya, u r right, was very busy with note3 v4, so i did a quick reading

what in status bar still white? except battery (i know i did not theme it yet)

Clock, battery and other misc. notification pop ups...like messages.
Personally I like the signal icon standing out in blue...makes it noticable what my connection is all the time
I hate the plain flat white icons

Clock is text not icon, so either u need a mod or using any xposed mods
battery will be themed soon, i did for note3 and S4 JB, but in S4 KK needs over 300 icons 2 be themed, too little free time, and too little motivation here.

Nah...they go from grey to white still....I dont much care bout the battery since I hide it and use the text percent.

Requirements:
This directory will be broken into 2 skill level categories.
1-Easy: Flash in SafeStrap Recovery as is, no edits required.
2-Moderate: some monor changes are required to make the theme work safely on our Note 3 (name edits, simple deletions) that anyone with a general working knowledge of how to decompress/recompress zip files for flashing in SS could do it.
☆Changes that involve moving stuff around or editing the install script (like aroma installer based themes) will not be listed. For those to work, permission from the creator to PORT it will be required, and it should have it's own thread!☆

If it fits into the "moderate skill" category, you must also provide what files you had to change/delete to get it set up properly. [THEME'S] NC5D [KK 4.4]-[JB 4.3][*** KromeX Themes ***"]
He's got a few themes here. But I installed the Universal Blak Krome.
This one takes a little modding, but looks good! (Follow link, and go to post #760 for download links)
Unzip the theme and make the following edits to make it work:
Files to delete:
System/app/SecEmail_J.apk (it kept f/c at startup)
System/priv-app/VVM.apk (Sprint app)
File to edit:
vrtheme/system/app/SBrowser_SPR.apk. Remove the "_SPR" if you want the browser themed.
A few nice things. The phone, contacts, and mms apps are inverted! Haven't tried the others on his thread.
Also worth noting. There is a full framework-res.apk that is installed. If you're not running a custom rom, it will be fine. If you are, try it anyways. And restore a backup if you have issues.

One of the nice things about knowing your way around an install zip package... Mix n match! I'm running elements of darkhorse, blak krome, bobcat, and cobalt.

For sure.. I just use zarchiver to open them on my phone and dump/edit what I want. Can't stand the ugly @$$ white and tw colors. Gotta be dark. haha.

I tried this method and it appears to have broke the group message function on mms. Did you do anything besides leave the apks mentioned?

There may be some quirks. It it a Sprint theme. What does it do? I haven't tried using group sms and don't have this loaded right now.

This is true as I'm on Verizon. I can send a send a group message. However when someone responds to the group message, it returns in a single response instead of maintaining the group thread. That's the only issue I've noticed so far. Thanks

Now mms won't send. Just clocks and the message never goes through. It's all good. Everything else functions perfect. I can continue to use the base mms. ?

Very nice looking theme. I am hoping to eventually see some kind of AOSP theme that works on our current KK build. There is one on the T-Mobile area but sadly the apps included with it force close like crazy on our current KK build.

May I inquire as to what dialer/contacts/messaging you are using? If you mentioned it before I apologize for missing it.
I have flashed this theme and have the white background in those 3 things still. My guess is that you took APKs from something else to replace them with that had dark backgrounds. If I'm correct in that, can you point me what you used?
EDIT: are they from dark horse, black chrome, or cobalt?
EDIT2: I'm and idiot! So sorry just saw the answer up the page on using contacts/dialer/messaging from blak chrome. Sorry to waste space asking lol.

Instructions for flashing

To use the background and bubbles shown in the screens for Mms you must select them in settings.
Bubble style 2 for both incoming and outgoing.
Background style 2 for the transparent bg that will show the AOSP bg from the framework or background 1 for an all black one

Spoke too soon, bud. Settings have weird icons and descriptions. Continue to fc. Darthstalker doesn't have any special settings options. Idk what is causing it. Hopefully I can figure it out though. It looked GREAT!

In time you will start to see fc. My settings kept doing it so I flashed stock ROM and I good. Now starts the set up process .

That's because stock settings doesn't actually have a icon for adaptive screen. It use a 1x1 white block which you see when you enable it. I'm guessing Sammy is just using that as a place holder til when or if they activate the toggle. Flash this if you wanna see if this fits right. Remember that the other toggles are different sizes, so this is just a test run to see if it sizes up right.

No fc's flashing over Firekatv5. I had already themed with locos inverted apks and wanam, flashed this right over the top. The lobotomy theme replaced the phone contacts messaging settings etc but it did not change all of the wanam theme tweaks i made. My quick settings are the same color i changed them to yesterday but the header and pull down bar are now black. I actually really like the way it all looks now but I'm going to restore to a fresh Firekat and install the theme to see it the way it is intended to look.

Reflashed rom and theme, keyboard has symbols now. Now I'll add exposed and Wanamaker to see what happens

Flashed the dark framework (n4_black_fw_bg.zip) over the lobotomy theme to turn the dark gradients to solid black. I can pretty much say my phone looks exactly how i want it to now.
