Some new photos about P8000,

Hey guys, what's up, ZI Jin Cheng here and this is the review of the Elephone P8000, Elephone's flagship device. I'm very impressed with this device and the only two reasons why I'm not using it as my daily driver is that it is too big and isn't supported by my carrier.

Ele code for $40 off

What would you say: P7000 or P8000?
This one seems to have a worse CPU but better battery life.
Another question: where the f*ck are the speakers of the phone? :S
P.S.: No 4G compatibility for the UK for this one, probably gonna stick to P7000.

Well not for the O2 and giffgaff, which most people have. :/
I was really considering it but this is a turn-off.

Ive ordered one worth a shot after discount code.

looks like it does support the 800mhz o2 4g band in the specs.

Just bought one of these £110, and I have just read on here that is may not support 4G in the UK? I am on Tesco network, what are the chances?

Just checked the specs and It supports 4G: FDD-LTE800/1800/2600MHz which includes 02 and Tesco, and according to Focalprice, it's released on July 2nd 2015

No idea where you got al that completely wrong info from.
Also, EE is the most popular 4G network in the UK, not o2/giff gaff.
The phone supports all 3 different 4G bands used by UK networks.

Check for yourself and see that it does not cover O2/giffgaff.
Secondly, I am confident enough to say that O2 and especially giffgaff is the most popular network (do not know whether 3G or 4G, but that is not the point). It has the lowest tarriff and the goodybags are a bargain, which in turn make it quite desirable. Coverage is also great.
P.S.: I am not advertising giffgaff in any case, I just answered to your queries. I was really considering getting this instead of the P7000 (I still haven't ordered), but I do need the 4G on giffgaff and on my Greek network.
Woaaah, BIG EDIT:
It suddenly registers that giffgaff is going to work on 4G with this phone. Did they just change it or what?

[Q] Could someone tell me how to price my used Desire (unlocked, GSM UK, April 2010)

This is the original UK/Europe GSM unlocked model purchased just under 1 year ago from handtec UK. It's in pristine shape, as I have always had it in a slicon/TPU case. Here is the model:

In USA, this phone runs on AT&T and T-Mobile, However, on TMO, it is NOT 3-G, only edge speeds, as it does not have the bands for TMO's 3G. I believe it has the bands for Canada's Roger's net, not sure.
This phone just had its entire motherboard replaced brand new by HTC Warranty Service -- the reason was due to the microUSB port solder-points slipping and thus bad PC-data-connections. This has been a frequent problem for people with the Desire and the Sprint EVO (google: HTC Desire microUSB port). The point is, the warranty service was a complete motherboard replaced, and there has never been any other issue.
The phone has never been rooted. It has the stock ROM, and has been updated with the periodic OTA HTC updates to froyo 2.2
I bought a myTouch 4g 2 months ago before I sent my Desire in for warranty work, and I like having the front camera, so I want to sell the Desire. Before I go to the Marketplace, I thought I would ask what is the reasonable price for it. (I will later take some well-lit close up pics of every surface; have the original box, charger etc)
Last question: If this were to be shipped to Europe, for example, what method do people usually use?
Thank you. /quicksite
If this is the A8181 model, it definitely doesn't work on Canada's Rogers network on 3g. I have the same model and the best it can do is EDGE.

okay thanks, i'm sure that is the case -- that it is only edge. Because i recall one year ago when everyone was hyped up to buy this phone (... so funny, how just one year ago this was the phone to have, and there were major shortages in supply chain throughout europe for weeks ... but such is mobile life!).. that I was checking to see if the Roger's model had the TMO 3G bands --- and it did not, which meant 2g for me (edge). Thanks for clarifying.
If it's in euro's then between 200 and 230 euro's is a reasonable price. With the currency of today that would be between 288 and 330 dollars.

Hi, thank you very much for the guidelines. That may be fair but it seems a little lower than the Craigslist market shows.... but not all supply and demand are same region to region.
Anyone else have an opinion, or is this on the nose and recommended way to go? I have not yet looked at XDA's marketplace, mostly because it is generally driven by hurry hurry hurry, i need i need i need, i want i want.... And in my case I just want to make a no hassle deal that is fair to me, not just artificially low-balled.
I was looking at swappa, but i saw no recommended prices.
In my San Francisco Bay area craigslist ads, this is what I see -- but it could be comparing apples to oranges since there are so many flavors of HTC Desire -- and a critical factor for USA user would be its ability to run at 3G speeds. And it can't.
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=HTC+Desire&catAbb=mob&srchType=T&minAsk=&maxAsk=
The version I have, the 8181 -- the seller in Bay Area is asking $410 -- have no idea what he will get for it ... but for the AT&T 3G version, it's asking price is between $350 and $500 on Craigslist.
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mob/2313338713.html
I'd rather sell to an XDA'er, but there are two types of XDAers in the market place: Fair players and fast players looking to scoop up phones then resell them (editorial: I can't stand those people but I see them all the time browbeating sellers who have already offered really great discounted deal, and they come back with absurd terms. I'd boot them off this site if I could.)
Lenny, I think given what I find, that this phone can be bought brand new in USA from Amazon (vendor) for $445 USD (free shipping USA),

then my rule of thumb is that paying $100 less for a one year old smartphone in excellent condition is fair & reasonable. So that would be $345 -- which is pretty close to what you said on the higher end of your sliding scale.
So, I will take pics and probably first put it on craigslist here in San Francisco, or maybe just list in both places at same time: craigslist and XDA marketplace. Either way I will include link to hi-rez video that shows the phone in high-detail and usage.
This was how I got it and decided to play against the stereotype:
IRREVERENT UNBOXING VIDEO:
and this was my early experimenting with a carry strap, which i later solved in completely different way -- but this was one year ago (april-may 2010)
MISSING CARRYING STRAP:
*** and don't worry, those white "egrip" grip pads were taken off after 1 week and the case arrived. I just didn't want it slipped out of my hand and crashing to floor.
and
this was my frustration at lack of accessories last year when Desire was released....., again, done for humor.

Actually I wanted to, but now it seems to be hard get my hands on one. Most shops for some unknown reason do not recommend this model.
I know that GearBest have it in stock. As I've been looking at it. Out of interest what phone would you recommend most out of the ones your reviewed? I currently edging towards the Jiayu S3 Advanced (3gb version). But I've read that apparently it comes with malware installed on it. Have you come across this?

No I didn't have malware on mine, and if I had, I would just root the phone and remove the malware. But yeah the S3 is definitely a good choice.

That was exactly what I thought. Plus the S3 comes pre-rooted anyway, so you just have to enable it in the settings. It couldn't be any easier really. The only issue I'm having now is deciding where to buy it from. I've only ever used Merimobiles before. But I've read good things about Banggood and GearBest. Which would you recommend?

When it going to be on the market?
Already preordered one on yesterday.
The "doors open" on the 30th of September.
I've ordered one. The specs for the price at pre-order (under £100 GBP) were too irresistible to pass on. I'll post thoughts on the phone when I receive it.
I would like to order too!!,
but we don't know yet full spec.
I also wonder if the specifications are the same as advertised. Doogee has a history of lying about some specs (sometimes to catch buyers for pre-orders) and one site may show different specs than the other. Doogee said the phone is made of liquid metal, but in this video (2:10) the backovers look like white plastic on the inside: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnZCL5YSIvE The phone might not be entirely made out of metal. Also some shops claim that it has Corning Gorilla Glass. However, Doogee sais the phone won't have it. Another thing to check is the battery capacity.
A demonstration video of the fingerprint sensor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw83ph5ImnU
A video of the design: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulEIkkdpwKs
You mention unboxing in the title. Is that just because you plan on unboxing it when it comes out? Or...
Most of the time manufacturers send samples to people for reviews and such before being released. Sometimes far enough in advance to actually make changes before final production. So I thought this was one of those things, but really it has nothing we can't have at the retailers. :-\
Awesome Phone! Which online-shop will be the first/fastest one to ship those phones to the customers? Which one is usually good?
I'm just asking because I tried to get the Elephone P8000. Long story short after waiting for 2 months without it beeing shipped I cancelled my order. I'd like to avoid that here, as I really finally want/need a new phone!
Irresistible..I ordered one too..... I'll try to make areview when I receive it.

If you look closely, you can see the video-frames when loading apps are skipped to make it look fast. (Take a look at 5:13, it's clearly visible when the camera app is being opened). I don't think this video is legit.

I just ordered mine from bangood.com. Main reason was a 6% discount coupon, so it only costed aroudn 131.50 USD. You can easily find the coupon via Google.
Also if you are a new customer, a 10 USD discount on the normal price of 139.99 USD should be possible, if you find someone who refers you to Banggood.
If you can't find the coupon, just PN me.
Banggood still shows that they expect the F5 on 15. October. I hope they will ship them out to us next week!
Anyone received their F5 yet?
No Yet
My Order 29-9-2015
I think Doogee has big problem...
BANGGOOD informed me to wait another 7 days!! (ordered 10.10) ,,,where are our phones doogee?
GearBest.com didn't send me anything.

M2 802L LTE in USA on Cricket (AT&T)?

Hello fellow members,
I was wondering if anyone could verify this for me.
I see that the 802L possibly might achieve LTE in the US has anyone had any experiences at all?

It does achieve LTE speeds on both USA ATT and Tmobile. You just need to set the APN in the settings. It is just as fast as my Galaxy Note 4 on Tmobile. If anyone is wondering, YES, It works great with voice calls. I love the reaction people give me when I whip out an 8 inch brick and start holding it to my head.

The picture from the seller does not show an earpiece on the top of the screen of the Huawei 802L. Can you provide a picture of your phablet? thanks...
I have the 802l. And have been using in okc metro on tmo for most of 2016. Lte/voice/data works flawlessly and gets same rates as note 3. 8 core cpu so overall experience is great. Speaker outputs on top and bottom sides so when using dialer top side speaker is activated at earpiece rate. Bluetooth or wired headset is strongly advised to cut back on the number of people asking if its really a phone. No band 19 coverage but personal research has lead me to believe this band is negligible. I ordered from eBay seller ~$320 shipped. From Taipei Taiwan to my okc door in less than 24 hours. no joke.

Can you please help me with this?
1. Did you end up buying the standard (2GB) model or the Premium (3GB) one? If it's the premium one, can you point me to the right seller?
2. How do you like the cameras? I have an X2 which has better spec'd cameras
3. How is the battery life? My X2 has a larger battery (5000 mAh) so I'm not sure how this one would fare in comparison.
THANK YOU

I got the 2gb from love.taiwan.
Cameras are average for a mobile imo. I dont do much shooting.
Battery is better than average for a phablet but dont expect same results. I plug in if im gonna watch a video or when I can. I wanted the x2 but went with m2 because of network/band coverage.
CORRECTION* its not b19 coverage issue but another. Make sure you double check band coverage device/service provider. Im lacking coverage on one band but ive never had speed or lte or 3g problems. I use frequencycheck.com

Hi, I'm confused about your last comment.
I did try the 802L on ATT here near Atlanta but did not see LTE working....(??) I'm confused as to what you meant about "another issue." Thanks! (perhaps my APN settings weren't right, but I'm not sure. Frequencycheck.com shows it lacking some support for the right bands.
Thanks!
I personally can confirm the M2-802L works on full LTE with T-Mobile USA.
From what I can tell, the only US LTE bands that work on this phone is B2, and B4.
I've been using the 802l for about a month now on Ting's GSM network. Using Ting's GSM APN settings to the letter I routinely get download speeds faster than on my Mediapad X2 702l on the same network in the same locations. Note that my 802l has never said "LTE" on the top bar; it shows a "4G" icon for speeds above HSPA+. My X2 702l says "H+" (HSPA+) at best, never "4G" (the X2 is known not to get U.S. LTE bands).
Also, voice calls work great on the 802l. When calling without Bluetooth the sound comes out of the top speaker but is loud enough for most conversations.

So the difference between this and the UMi Super is the screen? Do you know if they will be using the same Sharp screen?

right now i just know UMI Super edge is possible to use Samsung Curved screen.
I have heard really good things about Umi's latest venture. I think by all accounts this will be their best yet. But saying that, they have let people down with specs that just were not there. And rumors are abound of another Version called the edge running android 7. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I think they need to release a phone that lives up to expectations though. 1 thing is for sure I would love to be on a list of people assigned an early release. It does sound like it will be 1 hellava phone
UMI SUPER
That device is phenomenal
4 GB RAM would must be help us to get rid of any issue.
Very good phone
