Bounty Details:
This is the official thread for the LG G4 bounty for root/unlocked bootloader. I will be ONLY doing the bootloader bounty for the Verizon/AT&T models as these are usually the harder variants to achieve. I can have two separate bounties; one for root in general and the other for the unlock bootloader. XDA has not broken this up into sub-forums, so until then I will post this in the 'General' section.

DISCLAIMER;
PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC. OFF TOPIC, SIDETRACKED POSTS WILL GET DELETED AND WILL HELP CLOSE THIS THREAD.
Please note if you do not explicitly state separate prices for root/recovery and full bootloader unlock bounties, your contribution of the same price will be add to both lists.
Please note you may not submit a contribution for only ONE bounty. If you post a contribution, one price will be applied to both bounties unless separate prices are explicitly stated.
Please note you do NOT have to pay for both bounties separately. Whichever bounty gets fulfilled first is the one that you pay for upon collection. This is why your contribution is added to both lists automatically.
Please note you may NOT make any specific restrictions or requirements that aren't listed in the OP. By making a post with your contribution price you are agreeing to paying out based on all terms listed in OP only and nowhere else.
Please note once you make a post with your contribution you may not withdraw it at any time and are responsible for paying out once the bounty is claimed. The only changes that can be made are another post raising the prices if you choose so. Please make sure you read everything carefully. No exceptions!
Please be advised that if Verizon/AT&T or LG is to release an official method of unlocking the bootloader (extremely unlikely but must be accounted for) prior to any member of XDA's submission, this bounty automatically becomes invalidated.

I'm in for $20, for any flavor of working root. Thanks to everyone who makes these exploits possible!

Got 20$ on it.

Jcase just tweeted the att g4 just fell.
and the AT&T LGG4 falls youtu.be/Ozz95wyZH1Y, yet again, least secure headliner device of this generation.

Root or unlocked bootloader or $20 for both?
For all others in future (as OP mentions) please SPECIFY or I'll be forced to put it for both.

Both

Explain?
Can someone please explain for a semi leman what the you tube video is doing and how I can replicate it. I have the adb bridge set up and I know a little bit about cmd prompt but need some help doing this.

Not that these threads ever seem to help but Ill throw down $20 for each

I'd gladly throw down 20 for a T-Mobile

Count me in for $25 each for root and bootloader for Sprint LS991

Put me down for $25 for root and bootloader (T-Mobile variant specifically).
Sent from LG G4

it is possible to have only root? On my LG H815 with LMY47D? Thanks.

$50 for the H811 (T-Mobile variant).

Count me in for $20, though it looks like jcase is now able to write to /system/etc.

I'll throw down $30 for tmobile Full Bootloader Unlock + Root/Recovery.

Idk if its smart creating a bounty ..whoever comes out with a root method is obviously going to wait till a bunch of people donate so there's more money to be earned for them...so the root method will take a long time to be released...idk that's what I see lol

From knowing the reputations of some of the developers working on this, that won't happen.

$100 for working root for the T-Mobile variant, LG-H811.
I don't care about unlocking the bootloader. I just want root to remove bloat and tweak kernel settings.

I'll contribute $25. Looking for root on h811 (t-mobile).
And thanks for this to all.

I used this process a year ago to get into a sprint contract without having to pay activation fees or anything, I simply transfered ownership of the plan, picked a plan to fit me, and started paying monthly.
does it really work or is this a scam?

It really does work, it just puts you in contact with someone who wants to take over your contract. You don't have to go through them once you have someone to take it over, it can all be done through sprint.
But wait a moment. If you sell your cellphone like the HTC Evo for 500 on Ebay you can cancel for 200 bucks and still get 300 bucks extra minus Ebay fees and such but you get 250 still so yeah. Thats silly.
Yes this website does work, I used it to get onto someone's sero plan. Also sprint annually makes changes to their contract sometime after new years. Which allows you to get out off contract
Contract transfers are very common. Go on Craigslist and see how many people are trying to get somebody to take over their Clearwire account. That's how I got out of my contract with that joke of a service provider.

ok let me get this straight
For $20 I can sell my contract to someone else,i don't have to pay the $200 eft, my name is no longer on that contract and I get to keep my evo!? Sounds too good to be true.

can i get your discount?
And what good is your Evo without a contract? Can use it on any one else's service can you? Verizon is different frequency? (or will it work?) But they are pricey anyway.
Dang I should have sold my unlimited AT&T account!!! I actually joked about that cause it was a great idea and whomever would not have had to do the limited plans. (with 1500 rollovers too!!!)
Hurt to let that go.

Unless you know somebody at Verizon that can get you in, they won't activate it. Some people say you can use some of the smaller providers, but that will vary. But, hey, you can use it for everything else besides phone and data. Like... camera?

Good to know, thanks mrono, curious what contract terms you selected, were you able to get deeper discounts as a Get In member or does Sprint verify any discount eligibility post transfer?
I did it with US Cellular, actually the salesman suggested it. I transferred my account to my baby mamas name and she got to use my phone ( she wanted my blackberry but didn't want to pay for one) it was a win win for me.
I have a free way:
Found this out by accident with at&t and recently did it twice more through verizon. Look at their coverage map ahead of time and find an area a good distance away that has zero coverage. Find a street in the town where the void is located. Get your story straight ahead of time. The first time I really did move into a spot that had no coverage. The other times I wanted out I just made up an excuse that I was moving due to work. Ask them if there is coverage. They will check and tell you no. Act disappointed and ask what your options are then. They will let you close your account with no ETF. Downside is you won't be able to port over your number though.
this site has been around for a while so it's definitely legit. There are usually a number of SERO accounts up on it. Only downside is you lose your number if you care about that. Sometimes it seems like I'm the only one attached to my cell phone number.
I was thinking of doing this to move from AT&T to T-Mobile but I wasn't sure what would happen to the contracts on the 3 lines of my family plan. I was told that I could transfer each line on my family plan separately to 3 different people.
The AT&T rep told me that after I transfered my accounts, each person taking over the line would have a month-to-month with no contract and could cancel at any time without paying an ETF. This sounded completely wrong to me so I called back later and a different rep told me the same thing.
I was sure the person taking over my account would be committed to the remainder of my original contract. Does it make any sense to anyone that they'd be able to cancel immediately without paying an ETF? Could it have something to do with how long I've been with AT&T or that I have a business premiere account?
Thanks,
Alan
P.S. Oops, sorry I just realized I posted this in a forum for a phone that's not on AT&T. Would still appreciate any info anyone has, thanks.

How do you get away with that??? I have only two phones on my account and I pay $160 unlimited everything.
I thought each extra phone was another $10 or $20??? four should be $200.

I am a current Verizon customer with a voice plan that is no longer offered and unlimited data. If I change either I can not get them back. Is there any way to keep my current voice and plans in place and still order through letstalk, wirefly or amazon? I know I have to renew for two years I just don't want to mess with my plans.

I tried the same. No go. VZW wouldn't even budge on price. They may get a return especially if the battery life is bad. But who knows....

So... California and/or Texas have a 25% sales tax in your calculations, as opposed to the approximate 7% implied by the actual websites of those states?
Do you intend to troll, or is that just a side-effect of something else?

Is that standard in California??? :O
In all seriousness, I would probably break into a fit of hysterical laughter if a sales rep tried to charge me $75 'sales tax' for a $150 item (am I the only one that would be shocked to be presented with that situation?).
In Florida, from my experience, you can generally rely on all "instant" rebates to be considered an effective drop in the actual sales price as far as sales tax is concerned. Basically only mail-in rebates leave the sales tax un-lowered. I've actually never heard of something so shocking as this.
Here in Miami, FL, an unrefined look at the situation is:
$185 ($150 + $35) - Amazon
$190 ($155 + $35) - Let's Talk
$225 ($190 + $35) - Wirefly
Anyway, I'm sorry for you OP. That's really outrageous. Move to FL :]
(1)An unheard of %25 sales tax (2)combined with an outdated-by-$50 divergence from what Amazon Wireless is actually offering at the moment, (3)further combined with the selective addition of the activation fee to only one of the three vendors' offers, (4)all leading up to a conclusion that places the most expensive of the three vendors (here in FL) as actually being the cheapest requires questioning where I'm from.
Thanks to our fellow XDA'ers, I now know why oddity #1 took place. Thanks guys.

Ouch.
(Updated my previous post)
http://www.logicbuy.com/deals/samsung-galaxy-nexus-smartphone/34990.aspx
I just picked one up through wirefly. I got it for 239, no tax or shipping charge. They actually have them in stock where as other places are back ordered. This was as a upgrade. The big selling points for me to go with them was I could keep my OLD school Alltell plan I've had forever(going to verify this didnt get screwed up in a day or two) and they have insurance through them that is a lot better sounding than Verizon's. They offered insurance for 7 bucks a month with no deductible and up to 3 uses a year. That beats the crap outa Verizon's 100 buck deductible if you lose your phone. Only thing is they said they dont cover a lost phone. You got to get a police report and just say it was stolen. If anyone has any reviews on their insurance in use I would appreciate it. Hope this helps some people.
edit here: They can keep my old plan only when upgrading phones that are part of the family plan I got but not the primary. When I went to upgrade the primary line their computer system required a plan change to a current Verizon plan. My wifes upgrade went through ok and I got her phone for a better price at least without messing with my plan. From talking to Verizon customer service the only way to upgrade your phone and keep a grandfathered plan is through Verizon with regards to the primary accounts phone line.
I just ordered mine on Amazon for $149.99. I'm a new Verizon customer though.

How about before opening your mouth and looking like a complete IDIOT and furthermore a jerk and an ASSH--E, you research things first? Or even look at who's posting and see that I've been a respectable member of XDA for quite some time.
Perhaps then you would have realized that the $208 is not MY estimate, but from LetsTalk themselves:

For clarification, the FULL price of the phone is $729.99.
$729.99 * 7.25% = $52.92, which is exactly what LetsTalk is showing.
Maybe next time you won't be so quick to call for a ban. (Seriously, that was totally uncalled for.) Maybe instead the mods should ban YOU.
Paul22000:
When someone says something that doesn't make sense to me, I ask them to explain it to me. Do you agree with this reaction or do you not?
Now, when someone states a series of inaccuracies and uses the balance of those inaccuracies to publish a purchase-influencing, inaccurate conclusion (intentional or not), it becomes more than a personally confusing single statement but also disinformation/FUD/false advertising [and along with that a higher urgency to be resolved/fixed]. Do you agree or do you not?
I also believe that you have let your hurt feelings lay waste to the attention I pay to my written and spoken word specifically to stray from making potentially inaccurate statements. I say this because I try to be meticulously careful in the verbiage I use, specifically so as not to state more than I actually know at the time and this thread is no exception.
(1) There is a reason the content of my original reply is a series of questions to you (note the red-herring question marks) not statements. The reason is: that I am asking questions of you. I like to ask questions when I can't be sure of the answers, since that leads to understanding.
The first question/request that you will find in my post is a request for clarification. And incase it was not clear to you why I needed clarification, I highlighted the part that shocked me for you: the ratio of tax to base cost in your calculations.
The second question to you -- since, without inhabiting your body, I cannot know whether the intention actually was to mislead people or whether there were just an unfortunate number of mistakes in your post -- was just that: I asked whether you were actually trying to troll (whether it was intentional), or whether there was some other reason for the inaccuracies of your post.
For reference, I'll quote below the section of my last post that listed my 'points of confusion' with your original post.

Since then, although you've "humbly" chosen not to mention it in your reply, you've went back and quasi-fixed all of the inconsistencies that lead to my original questioning of your post. Inconsistency #1 was already explained before you even posted to be an 'awful' and 'brutal' unusual sales tax oddity apparently limited to California. You additionally updated to fix inconsistency #2, and quietly removed your suggestion that Wirefly is the cheapest (major inconsistency #4), but chose not to mention/fix the reason why (inconsistency #3 [unaddressed]).

I understand that you're upset to hear a candid side-remark about banning even coming up in the proximity of your name (maybe I'd respond the same way myself if I were in the situation also-- probably silently, however), but you should really just recognize that there was a an unfortunate mess of either unusual, outdated, or just plain wrong information up there (that was apparently completely unintentional!).
Unless you're part of totalitarian regime, never suggest that people should be censored/banned for questioning people's conclusions (especially when the conclusions end up being false). And XDA, as far I understand it so far, is much more about asking questions than intimidating people not to.

It's not going to make the phone cheaper. They would just split the $200 up over 24 months and end up being the same price.
i dont understand tnobile's offer. correct me if i'm wrong.. but are they offering the note 3 for $0 for a 2 yr contract?
i've been with tmobile for 6 yrs until 2011. but im on their prepaid.. wat deals do u think i can get on the note 3?
Contracts are gone. It's all month-to-month. So they are saying the phone costs $0 to walk out of the store, pending credit check, and they'll bill you $20 per month until the phone is paid in full.

Exactly.. lets say the phone is 700. U walk out zero down. U have to pay off lets day $25 a month.. untill u pay off 700 thats about 28 months.. its perfect for jump users doh. Walk out with a new phone zero down.. only pay 6 months, u paid only $150 off then just return it... then most likely s5 is out

hold on, do u really think tnobile will allow u to return the phone, if u decide to, after paying 6 months worth, which is $150 when it costs $700?

WHole point of being eligable for the jump program brotha.. il dbl check tommorow, but i went today and from my understanding, thats how it works.. ur basically leasing/renting the phone. U can either decide to keep the phone and pay the rest off. Or decide to get a new one. With technologies always upgrading to the yearly. People want the latest and greatest tmo jump and att next provide that. Unfortunately for me ive never had my phones for more than 6 months. Coming from the s3 > note 2 > s4 changed my phone every 6-7 months don't know why. And thats before the jump program.....

Is this web only or also in store deal? On their website, it mentions $0 down web only deal but that flyer seems like it's for in store as well.
Unfortunately, it looks like an adjustment of monthly payment. The grand total stays the same.
$29.5*24=$708

That is exactly how it works. Upgrades every 6 months, but you have to return the phone you used. The Jump program also included free insurance which not only covers damage, but also lost and stolen.
This is really great on the jump! program. If you trade it in at 6 months, they are forgiving $531 dollars owed.
The 0 Down promotion is real.
Old pricing
Well qualified credit- 199 down 21/month
Lesser qualified - 350 down 14.70/month
PROMO PRICING
Well qualified- 0 down 29.29/month
Lesser qualified- 360 down 14.29/month
Prepaid plans- full 703 up front
You can upgrade again anytime after 6 months if you have jump, so theoretically after 1 year when note 4 comes out you.will have paid 348 in payments. T-Mobile, upon you trading in your note 3 , will wipe out the remaining 355 that you have left to.pay on your phone ( depending on condition of phone, has to turn on,no broken screen, no water damage etc) and then you can start fresh with new down payment and monthly payments for your note 4.

I don't see any benifit in doing Jump if you're going to keep it for a year. Your math is a little off by the way.
29.29 × 12 months = $351.48
$ 10/month in Jump x 12 = $120
Don't forget you have to pay tax for the device, thats around $55 (depends on your location)
351.48 + 120 + 55 = 526.48 total you paid in a year.
If you traded in your device, you get nothing back. If you paid $704 up front or doing 199 down, You can sell the phone for at least $350.
750-350 = 400 total paid in a year. ( if paid 704 + around $55 tax up front)

What Tmobile Plan to get for Use on ATT?

I want to buy in the Tmobile store and come home, get an Unlock code and use my phone on ATT.
The phone is $708 at TMO + Tax.
How do I get out as cheap as possible?
The store says I need to buy a month of service when I called them. At like $70
I haven't been with TMO for like 10 years and their website is un-navigable for me.
EDIT: added 10/1/2013
I wallked out of TMO for $771 today.
$708 + TAX(6.5%) + $10 activation + $10 minimum Pay as you go acct
Even after confirming this on the phone they tried to put the bite on me for another $50 for a plan. I argued the price I got on the phone and they relented. If you call TMO by phone they do they exact same thing and relent the same. It's very much like a car dealership in how they work.
Waiting for my $6 unlock code presently, we'll see how that works out.
Cheapest TMobile plan is the $50.00 with unlimited calls, texts and 500mb of data.
Ian B
Cheapest plan they put me on and I do not remember the name but the dollar amount on the invoice was 10 + 30 dollars whatever they meant.
OK, after some goofing around with the local store on the phone, I got the straight answer
$708 + Tax(6.5% for moi) + $10 SIM + $10 Pay as You Go Plan (100 minutes) + Unlocking fee
I am going to do the retail price in the store rather than Swappa or Ebay because this phone has a high chance of needing warranty service even if I don't molest it.
People are getting bootloops from the freakin' play store FFS!

So the store clerk robbed me then. He said he was trying to get me the lowest paid plan obviously was only looking at pre paid plans and not jump. Under normal circumastances I would return my phone and get my money back and try again. However I do not want to end up with Note with a loose Home button or one that gets warm. I am sticking with this one. thanks anyways.

How to get the Softcard 50 dollars?

I see a lot of people saying they got 50 dollars for free from AT&T and Softcard. How does one claim this promotion?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=softcard+$50
so to clarify, there is no "$50 instant credit" of any sort.. like no signup $50 bonus or anything? because I think I remember my at&t rep mentioning something like that.
the only thing they're offering is "upto $50 per month in transactions of $1 or more"? and the referals for $10?
I think I also got a one-time $50 credit when I first signed up but I don't see that being offered anymore.
