They just announced the new pricing tiers yesterday. The guy I talked to said I'll initially have to pay the 50 restocking fee, but end up walking out of the store with money in my pocket. And a phone for less money per month, if I stay with a 32gb. I'm going to return my 32 for the 128 and it will only cost me the restocking fee, and t mobile customer service is crediting me $25 towards my bill next month.

Wow, well I am going to tell my mom about that even though she doesn't really NEED 128GB but it would help because she always has so many pictures plus you're paying less for more so why not.

Walmart deal coming up.

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile and the rep told me Walmart is cooking up a big promotion for the S3. I called to upgrade one of my lines and asked him if they can match or beat the WireflyFriends price and he said unfortunately no but Walmart is getting ready for a big S3 promotion. Fingers crossed that it beats the WireFly sale price.

I already got $50 back from CarToys because of Walmart's S3 price. I'm hoping they drop it farther so I can get more, but I'm not sure how much time I have left from CarToys to do that.

dont know about wirefly but I bought mine from Costco for 179.99$
I don't know what the other sales are. But tmobile can beat em. Especially if your contract is about up.
Got mine for $79.99!
Ask for retentions, or at least customer loyalty. But retentions can do even better. Google tmobile retentions deals galaxy s3 for more info.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Did you just tell the automated machine retention? I didn't know that I'll give it a try.
I did try that but still got customer loyalty. I loyaly offered me $279 for phone, $150 credit bringing it to $129. Also got. $20 5gb data plan and a $10 per month bill credit every month for 24 months. I told her I wasn't ready to pull the trigger yet and would call back. Asked her if she made notes on my acct for all she offered which she did.
Called back next day and this time made sure I got on with a retention specialist. They saw notes on my account so honored all the offers. I said I didn't think I could accept because it still meant I had to initially pay $279 which I couldn't afford to do. He did some looking at something and said he could bring it down to $229. I asked if I would still get the $150 credit which I did. I told him I still didn't have that much to spend initially and he said he could apply the cost to my next bill, so after credit I would only have to pay the $79 on my next bill!
Oh and I also got free overnight shipping!!!
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Wow, that's amazing. Been with them for almost ten years with multiple lines, hopefuy that helps me out. Thanx for the info, I will be glad paying 150. Guess I will give this tomorrow a try.
Good luck! Its definately worth trying.
I've been with them since the Voicestream days, over 10 or 11 years ago. That definately helps, especially if they think you are gona cancel.
The other thing is my contract had already expired which gives max leverage.

That's one thing that frustrates me about T-Mobile. They're ALWAYS doing amazing deals for new customers but never do much of anything for existing customers. I want to upgrade my wife's line and I can get a cheap standard flip phone for free or pay $100 for an old outdated MyTouch Q (which seems like an absolute waste of using an upgrade) or pay ~$300 for a SGS3 for her.

I've been with T-Mobile for 10 years and they have been fantastic. They offered me the 10gb data plan with mobile hotspot for $30 a month today. I'm still thinking about it, I have the new truly unlimited for $30 a month right now. I'm 10 days outside the 14 days you have to get the insurance and the customer service representative told me that today but still gave me the insurance for being a premium customer.

I'm soo thinking about calling them back about that deal. They said there only offering it for a short amount of time for premium customers. I hit 7gb last month. I just like knowing that I have unlimited data. Can we not tether like we could with the S II? I member all I did was delete tethering provision and it worked. But they did say with the truly unlimited plan tethering is not allowed.

me too man... Oh well, I LOVE THIS PHONE :good:
I just added a second line to my account last Wed, and i got the S3. Friday i see the deal online and am pretty pissed that i just paid $348 for the phone and not 2 days later its $99. I call them and get tossed around all weekend and no help on being compensated for the difference. The only thing they said i could do was to send it back wait for the return process to go through, then buy a third line for that price. Complete Bull**** that they cant just credit me the difference(not including the rebate). The return process itself would take a week i was told, so i would be without a phone for 1-2 weeks. I am just shocked at their process for this. I love the S3 that i have, but come on.

The main monitoring occurs on the network not the device level. Essentially they are monitoring the user agent of the outgoing traffic.
One easy way to circumvent their tethering blockage is to use a 3rd party tethering app and change your user agent on your internet browser to android or iPad/iPhone. Both Chrome and Firefox have extensions that easily let you change your user agent.
Confirmed working for me on the unlimited 4G plan using Chrome and WiFi tether.

New TMo Zero Down Promo

Not bad...Starts tomorrow for a limited time
http://www.dailytech.com/TMobiles+Z...Smartphones+Starting+July+27/article33052.htm
I love you t-mobile
YOU KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2NYT8uV_VQ
No zero down mean you don't need to pay for it now. So instead of making you have down payment right now they put that payment toward the monthly payment plan.
Say you want S4, instead of 150 down and 20x24 totaling 630, you pay 0 down and 25x24 total of 600. $30 saving. Not bad. .
But phone like HTC one, you'll be paying 0 down and 25x24 total 600 instead of 80 down (Web)and 20x24 total of 560 normally. Cost you $40 more.
Over all tmobile is being aggressive lately. .

That's annoying as hell.
I just talked to a Loyalty rep this afternoon to change plans and waive fees, who told me about this promotion. I asked him three separate times if the lack of down payment came back on the back end, by either increasing monthly payments or adding months, and every time he told me, No, it's $20 for 24 months.
I'm getting my Note II tomorrow, and I guess I'll see what happens with my next bill.

I switched from sprint a wk ago and went in this morning and was refunded $150 for one s4 and $150 bill credit for another. Also u have to b in the "A or B" credit bracket in order to qualify for the zero down. And for each line u open there is still a $50 charge for taxes. So 4 lines is $200 plus $10 per sim kit (new costomers).
I think thats about right.

Yes you do pay extra on the back end for it being no money down, but a lot of people do not want to pay a dime upfront so for them, this is good.

M8 purchased @Costco

I recently bought my wife's m8 from Costco after returning the s5 plastic edition . This is just FYI if you have Costco membership or a friend that has one. From Costco it is truly 0 down. They don't even make you pay the taxes for the phone and they give you a 25 dollar bill credit. Also they give you like a bundle package. Came with car charger screen protector and something else I can't think of. You get the regular 14 day with t-mobile and then on top of that Costco 90 day return or I think exchange if something is wrong with it or you are not satisfied. Wow awesome if you ask me. I'm getting my phones from there from now on.

No I don't have jump. I just finance the phone. And the taxes I will confirm if it's added on the recipient which I believe it is but I'm not sure. They don't make you pay anything if it's zero down. But will.confirm about tax tonight. Don't want to mislead. Sorry about that.

At T-Mobile, it's also 0 down for the M8 (if you have good credit) . At Costco, is it 0 down for all members, even if you have bad credit?

T mobile lowered my discount.

Used to get 10% my current bill now only shows 8%. Anyone have a clue why?
Please don't ask me to call them

Depending on the discount they are going away.
I lost my corporate discount because I didn't want to bother filling the application to reapply again, (actually I thought that discount was going away but it wasn't?) still less expensive than other carriers, I have a great service at home and work and almost half of my bill is for phones anyway.
So if it is corporate discount you're talking about, maybe they changed the rate, otherwise I have no idea.
Yes it was a corporate discount that has continued from a previous employer.
But for some reason it got lowered to 8%.

Most likely the agreement with your corporation and t mobile changed. You are actually lucky as apparently most corporation discounts have expired or gone away totally. I know the one I could have had is now gone, which is part of the reason I am still with ATT, but I will switch soon likely to t mobile anyways as I use all their phones with unlocked bootloaders. I just hope that continues....

T-Mobile does give a Government Discount. You must submit your DD From 214 to get the discount. 15%!!!!
Our company is partners with Home Depot so I still get my 15%

Yes, even for retirees you get the discount. Just provide them your DD Form 214.
Awesome, I just jumped ship from Verizon and since I didn't have a .mil email anymore Verizon stopped my discount. Good to know. Thanks buddy
:Your welcome. That's what this forum is about. Pass it on forward.
I'll have to see which is better that discount or the discount I get because of the company I work for.....but I think this one is going to be better.
I'm lucky to still have my 15% got discount with t-mobile.
Yup, nearly swallowed my tongue when I heard they were thinking of dumping corporate discounts!
:crying:
So glad they decided to keep them.
Now lowered to zero percent. Yay.
They sent me a card to verify my employment status for my corp discount. Course I couldn't verify it. LOL.
