[ROM|Stockish|NO KNOX] 7/17/15 Sprint TouchWiz Lollipop 5.0.1 (N910PVPU3BOF5) - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Android Development

Here's a Stockish ROM for your N910P. This ROM has Knox, Sprint ItsOn, and automatic Sprint software downloads (first boot) removed only. Nothing else was done to this ROM. I'm new to the Note 4 so I may upload patches to remove any other traces of Knox or ItsOn or optimizations I happen to find while making my own ROM.
Prereq: OF5 Baseband. Download it below.
Odex:

MD5: f6bf297e08ae830d4d63811907d22cb8
DeOdex:
Uploading..
MD5: f7096efb8f0cbc19083ce8b603cad79e
OF5 Baseband:
Download
DeOdex note:
The first boot time for this DeOdex ROM is very long. Approximately 5-8 minutes. Your phone will get hot as the splash screen remains on the yellow Sprint boot animation. I recommend keeping your phone in a cool environment while this is happening. The heat, if not properly checked, can make boot times even longer as the system throttles speed in order to deal with the heat. This doesn't happen on the Odex version.

ok, so you have to have done the base band update to flash this ROM.

Any way to update from OE1 to OF5 baseband without a computer? Don't have one at the moment...if not its ok i can wait...

I could include a TWRP flashable, but I'm not sure if the baseband even applies from a recovery flash. I've seen some devs include basebands in their ROM packages, but I have yet to see any evidence of a baseband flash being successful from recovery on either the Note 3 or Note 4. But if you want to try it out, I will do it.

@freeza, very nice to see you join us here at the Note 4. I've always appreciated the time and effort you put into your stellar Roms. Cannot wait to see where this will go!

Does the new baseband give u better reception

Awesome! Just in time. Had to take my phone in to Sprint to have battery/usb port replaced. Took about an hour and half and when they gave me my phone back, the home button was flush if not under the screen glass. I told the guy that this was not how I bought the phone or how it was when I brought it in. He said "let me go back and see if I can push the screen down some more"? about 2 minutes later the manager comes out and walks over to the Samsung displays and...yep the home button IS above the glass. I watch her go behind the counter asking the other sales people if they have anymore black note 4's. Nope...so they tell me I will be getting a new Note 4 shipped to my house on Tuesday. So if it has the OF5 already on it...this will be my first ROM! And they took off my Zagg glass screen protector, so I have to pay s/h for a new one. Funny thing is when I got home I took the phone apart myself and fixed the home button!
Sorry for off topic but saw this posted and was relieved. So, thanks freeza for this.
And yes my phone was rooted when I took it in and they never questioned it.

[ROM][STOCK][FROYO] EC03 Froyo Update

Here is the update that everyone has been waiting for At the moment, I'm only providing the modem, and rooted, stock, deodexed version of the ROM. There will be a cleaned up version to go along with all of this in due time, but we're currently working out some problems with it. I would like to note that despite this being the Froyo update, it is not without its own set of problems, and odds are you may never see another update outside of this from anywhere. However, the benefits of getting Froyo will outweigh the problems with it for most people, so have at it.
You will need a few things to get this, first, the downloads list here will be needed (obviously). You'll also need to have CWM setup and know how to use Odin. Heimdall will also work for those of you not on Windows, but I'm not providing any instructions for flashing using Heimdall. Also note that you will want to wipe data or perform a factory reset before booting into Froyo to avoid any problems. While you may get away with not doing it, you could end up with several problems, so my recommendation is to wipe data. Also, you can flash the ROM first, or flash the modem first, which ever you want to do. There isn't really a required order for it, as long as you do both parts.
Instructions
Download everything you need.
Odin
Froyo Radio
ROM+Kernel
CWM Kernel
CWM update.zip
Put the ROM zip and CWM update.zip on your SD Card
Flash the Radio via Odin in the PDA box
Enter CWM and flash the ROM+Kernel
Wipe Data in CWM before restarting your phone
Restart and enjoy Froyo

FAQ
How can I donate to you for this?
You can either click the "Donate to me" button above my avatar, or go through this link. Don't feel obligated to donate though, as Verizon should have given this to you (the users) long ago.
Can I still receive updates after flashing this?
You cannot receive updates after flashing this unless you revert back to DL17, which is the latest official software released by Verizon and Samsung.
If I can receive updates on this, how can I restore back to DL17?
I've been sending this to several people already that have had problems with their phones. If you need to revert back to DL17 for any reason, download this. You will need 7-zip or similar to extract it. Once you have the .tar.md5 file, flash it in Odin via PDA like you did for flashing the modem to get Froyo.
Can I return my phone to Verizon for warranty repair/service with this on my phone?
No. If you need any sort of help with your phone from Verizon, you will need to have the stock DL17 ROM on your phone. Anything else and you have voided your warranty and Verizon and/or Samsung will not have to do anything to help you. See the above question for a package to restore your phone to the latest stock software.
Are there any bugs in this release?
Yes there are, just as there is with any software. I do not know what the bugs are though off hand though as I have not been using this update. I also cannot say whether any of the problems you may have will ever get fixed, seeing as you can't even get a straight answer on why the update has been taking so long.
Is xxx modification/theme compatible with this?
Odds are that it isn't. All of the current themes and modifications for DL17 will not work on this package. They will all need to be updated to be able to work. Given that this is a relatively new release, this could take some time, especially given that it is the summer and people are on vacation (I'm looking at you trailblazer ). We will work though to try and get all of the mods ported from DL17 to EC03 so that you don't have to give up anything to upgrade.
Will you release a "clean ROM" based on this?
Yes, and it is already in progress. I have sent it out to a couple people already to ask for feedback and any issues. Once they say it is ok, I'll create a new thread with the cleaned up version. There is currently no ETA on when it will be released though.
Are there any other kernels I can use with this besides the one that comes with it?
At the moment, there isn't. I'm trying to get a custom kernel to work, but it has some problems. At the very least, we can customize the stock kernel some, but I do not know if a full source built kernel will ever be available.
Can I flash this if I am on the voodoo kernel?
No, if you are running the voodoo lagfix kernel, you will want to disable voodoo prior to doing anything. If you don't, you'll be in for some fun times with Odin getting your phone back in a usable state.
Can I get something included in the FAQ?
Yes you can. Just create a post with the following template, and I'll try to keep the FAQ updated. If I don't see it or add it right away, don't worry, I'll try and update it. If it has been a week or two and I still haven't responded, just send me a message with a link to what you want included. Here is the format to use:

It is not deodexed, or zipaligned, or anything else.

After you have downloaded the zip, extract it into it's separate files. Then use Heimdall 1.1.1 (frontend) and put the individual files in the right boxes. Put your tab in download mode (volume down/power on) and flash.
If you want to add dsb9938's overclocked kernel to this, download his Galaxy Cubed 3 ROM on this thread and flash just the kernel. If you want his CWM recovery, flash that too. But don't flash the other files if you want to keep the stock EI04.
You will end up with a stock, rooted ROM with an overclocked (1.6) kernel and a CWM recovery to do nandroid backups and flash mods. Sweet.
D, you are awesome! Thank you.
CW Recovery
Tried flashing (with heimdall) your kernel & recovery from Cubed 3 onto this stock/rooted but I bootlooped - is there something I'm doing wrong?
Also, assuming I'm able to get at least the clockwork recovery flashed, is there a way i can get the CW App you have on the Cubed Roms?
Thanks as always for the great support -

Far as I know it should work. Might have to wipe. I know people have donew the kernel, can't see why recovery would be an issue. Maybe a bad flash?
As for the app, it was made by chainfire, search for it.

Thanks - I'll give it another shot - and yes, I know, google is my friend ...
To verify,
In FactoryFS I place system.rfs
In Kernal (zImage) I place zImage
In Param.lfs I place Param.lfs
Leave Primary and secondary bootloader slots empty.
In cache I place chache.rfs
Leave database, modem and recovery empty.
Correct? Or does recovery get a copy of system.rfs?
---------- Post added at 06:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:34 PM ----------
Note that my goal is to get back to stock so that I can exchange this. I rooted and changed ROM because of the FCs I was getting in machine gun speed since I did the 2.3 OTA. I tried flashing Cubed 3 in hopes that I could get out of my issue, but there seems to be more going on here than a software issue.
I need to get pure stock, and complete a waranty exchange.

This is FABULOUS - Now My GTab is a Useful Tool, Not Just a Plaything
Thanks, dsb9938, for your time and energy put into this Stock+Root Vanilla for Verizon CDMA GTabs! I'm not into playing with different ROMs, and am limited by where I live to Verizon as my carrier, so I was thrilled to find this thread - Root without the learning curve of a different ROM.
Thanks also, to leapinlar for his input - after the holidays, maybe I'll play with overclocking. And, I sent thanks to Glass Echidna for Heimdall and their helpful instructions; this was my first Root (although I'd purchased a rooted cheapie prior to the GTab), but I felt very confident.
I did the Root last night, using Hiemdall 1.1.1 Suite, and it went without a hitch. I was so excited that I stayed up all night, getting Titanium Back-Up Pro wrapped around all my precious apps and data, re-installing, etc.
It's great to know that I can go back to "stock stock" if needed but, in the meantime, get rid of piles of bloatware. I'm an old "mainframe dinosaur" - it's good to get system-level control of my technology, once again. My main thrill, so far, is that I've been able to freeze the stock calendar & contacts in favour of useful ones - eliminating redundancy. Oh - and being able to back up data with apks is a huge relief....
The point of my Thanks to you? I did not WANT "bells & whistles" - just a streamlined machine - and that's exactly what you have given me. I sure hope that you will be creating vanilla stock+roots for many future versions. In just 24 hours, you've had a most positive effect on the efficiency of both my personal and business lives, and I wanted to let you know.
"There is No Free Lunch": I sent a donation (not nearly enough to cover the benefits I received, ) to acknowledge your excellent work. I hope that everyone who benefits from your work does the same....
Can it be used on Sprint Galaxy Tab?
Thanks.

3. Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik
4. Flash zip
5. Reboot

Issues:
Issues:
1. When you go to power off, it freezes, vibrates twice, and reboots. Seems to be a bug with the power off option. ***FIXED***
2. The dialer won't go into ##3282# mode. This is a Boost variant, so changing your MMSC URL in order to get MMS isn't necessary, but just wanted to let those on other carriers know. No solution yet. ***FIXED***
I do not claim to be the expert on anything, especially development issues. If you notice issues, please let me know. And if you have a solution to one of the issues I've found, please, by all means, post it and you'll get the credit. Enjoy
Note: It seems when rebuilding this to fix the issues above, I've lost the "rising orange Bs" boot animation. There's still boot-up sound, and the blue Samsung animation, but no Boost-specific. If you want it, you can get it from the previous build If I get time, I'll add it back in manually, but frankly, I like not having it there, it seems to boot a little faster

That's the file I flashed. It has the sprint shutdown animation/logo. I'm on boost mobile.
The name of the file I got from that link is called COMBINATION_L710VPAMD7_L710SPTAMD7_1154085_REV03_user_low_noship.tar.md5---Extract_with_7zip.7z
Extract the zip file, which is a tar file for odin
Open Odin
Connect the phone
The phone shows a com port
Select PDA slot and browse where that tar file is
Select start and it flashes, then reboots.
Unless I need to un-select auto reboot, then enter recovery and clear cache and such and factory reset.......but I thought that's what this did according to looking at the lines, it shows it formats data and clears cache.
This isn't 100 percent helpful but there is something that needs to be changed in the build.prop that will actually enable the proper file to be played I don't know which line it is but that's what I recall somebody saying way back when
Edit:
It's stock for multiple phones so it has all the files for all the phones... I think it's just that boost is not the default setting
Hmmm...MD7 is definitely not a Sprint rom. MD4 is. I'm not sure why it's giving you the Sprint logo. I'm out of ideas...I know I've flagged back to it. If I get time I'll tinker with it some, but crazy busy, so no promises.

It's stock for multiple phones so it has all the files for all the phones... I think it's just that boost is not the default setting

4.3 has real bad issues with phone calls for whatever reason it's like it's muffled or the sound is extremely loud and distorted so I'm going back to 4.1.3. So that's why I'm after this project.
I don't mind editing it myself if it's not to awfully hard to do.
I have decompiled and edited apk's replaced icons that I personally wanted to used and re-compiled them for my personal use, so I'm not really scared or a stranger to stuff, just not sure where exactly to start or what file/files to play with, or even where said files are at, or what lines to edit.
Perhaps I could get some help with the file names, and then replace the lines with those file names so they line up correctly...if someone would care to semi-babysit with me .
It's easy to edit. Just a matter of finding the right line and knowing the right variable.
If you don't mind having a sprint boot animation ,then flash it and all will be perfect.

Well for me I don't mind, but returning it to boost, which will in turn send it to samsung......samsung knowing it's boost and it having a sprint logo, might have a bit of an issue with it and it would draw a red flag.
Otherwise I wouldn't even worry about it.
My hopes are that I will never have to worry about sending it in. This is more a "just in case" scenerio

trltespr thinks it's trltetmo or i'm stupid.

Alright guys, tried to do some searching on this topic - no help found. So i'm resorting to what I hate to do, flooding the forums with more topics. Little bit of background to help troubleshoot, I've been rooting and rom-ing for about 4 years now with all Verizon Samsung phones (locked bootloaders and all that fun stuff) but just switched to sprint recently and having a few issues with roms.
On to my issue...
My phone has been experiencing a bunch of lag lately. So bad where the phone locks up for about 5 to 7 seconds about 3-4 times an hour and it is getting annoying as it's locking it at some crucial points. So, I have TWRP on there, rooted on stock 4.4 and tried to flash CM12 nightlies for this phone (the Sprint version). TWRP refused to install it, saying that the phone itself was the trlteTMO version and couldn't flash the trlteSPR roms. I flashed the TMO CM12 nightly and it flashed perfectly fine, but my service didn't work. I believe I got 3G/LTE and calling (unsure, can't confirm.) But no texts went through. But what the great part was, is that it did not stutter and Lollipop was absolutely f-in' gorgeous. So i'm assuming the phone accepted the software, but the radios weren't correct. I loved CM12 so much, but I use XPOSED for a few things. (Basically just Keepchat), So i'm okay with going to CM12 if someone can get my Sprint phone, which i got through Sprint, to work with Sprint roms. I'm at a brick wall.
Mind you that I have access to a windows computer, but it's junk and would rather flash using ODIN PRO on my phone, or just using my recovery. I use a Macbook Pro as my daily, but I can't get heimdall to work as i once did on my S3. I can't even find support or any downloads for it. So, i'm pretty much back to noob status and just need some good guidance. Thank you for reading, and help me flash something new!
Did you use the correct recovery for spr? Is only thing I can think of.... Maybe you flashed the tmo recovery

Definitely checking that. Sounds like it could be a very good reason for it to reject the tar.

Using a .tar file in recovery could be your 1st problem....

I agree with spleef. There's no other reason I can think of that would cause TWRP recovery to not install a sprint rom and give you that error message. You should really double check the tar files bwhen downloading them and definitely before flashing them with odin. Another thing, you are very brave for knowlingly flashing a T-Mobile rom on your Sprint phone. Seriously, you might want to Odin back to the stock. Sprint NK2 rom .tar and startb over fresh. It would be in your best interest at this point.

I cannot fully confirm that it was the wrong TWRP as the only recoveries I had on my computer and phone storage were sprint versions.
I did however reinstall the sprint recovery again after having to flash back to stock due to a random bootloop issue. So after reflashing 4.4 stock, reinstalling the recovery and restoring to a previous backup, I am now clean flashed on 5.0.2 all cellular features working on CM12 Official.
Mods, if you could please close or delete this thread, that would be appreciated.
Thank you @spleef, I'm sure you were correct anyways.

Q&A,help, and troubleshooting for Moar 2.1 ultimate note 5 hybrid rom

Unofficial help page
This is a fabulous rom please discuss any issues and questions here...
I'll start...
I came from sac 23 note 5 hybrid rom and using Antutu I was getting avg 70,000 score
With this rom best I've managed is 65,000
If I didn't feel a difference it wouldn't matter. But I definitely feel this is running a little slower
Any advice? I had both with same setup and apps
I'm using the zerolemon kernel (beast mode?)
Update. I ran antutu again and got my highest score yet so ...with no one else mentioning it seeming slower it seems it just maybe chrome beta.
I played with synapse and rom toolbox etc for kernel CPU tweaks before but really don't want to break anything or sacrifice any more battery life. So now my question is. Should I have not removed the stock chrome app that came with this rom? Did this break something or was that version tweaked specifically for this rom? I will to reinstall chrome beta and see if it preforms better.
Update... I think it is just xda being slow ?driving me nuts
Another question I have is about the launcher install via aroma(ive never had a aroma installed rom so that was a treat. Thanks tx)
I use smart launcher. can I reflash zip and remove the stock launcher to save some ram? Any suggestions on which of those uses the least resources running behind smart launcher? could I go back and run the stock launcher In easy mode to save resources?
People are mentioning camera modes they would like to download and I read that if you try to download them normally you will end up with the note5 versions which will not work.
If we rename the device back to sm-n910p in build prop would that help? Would it hurt anything else?
Dual camera mode apk hasn't been available anywhere in stuff that was already shared, does anyone have it?

I went into camera>modes>download aND saw thedual camera mode. I remember having that on my note2. Anyways I changed my device to sm-n910p in build prop and did that again and it(dual camera mode) no longer comes up in the Samsung store. I will try to download a mode and test now. I know this doesn't help you with the dual camera apk but maybe it will help someone else find an answer.
Update: install failed on any downloaded camera mode from samsung
Can I just wipe and flash? Not sure if my build is up to date, I'm thinking ok1 came out after what I have

I came from og5 and it worked great as written
Question regarding Coming from Ultimate to MOAR
Hello to all. I am on Ultimate Note 5 Hybrid. My question is , do I have to do the suggested ok1 steps. The reason I ask is that I am using smart switch to back up as much as I can and is says I am On "OK3 (XAS)". Am I god to go if I just wipe and format? I understand I have to do the battery pull. But the Calls, Data and GPS has me a little concerned. I had no issues at all on Ultimate Note 5 Port. NONE.
Blessings and thank you in advance for your replies.

What apps are running and how many installed when you run Antutu? I was able to get a score of 68,581 on mine with first run, MOAR 2.1A BEASTMODE kernel with only some MOAR UI tweaks and few programs running.

It is always best to follow OP exactly. If it is required to be on OK1 you need to update to OK1. If you do not, you will surely run into many unnecessary problems.
All apps closed and greenified only system apps I. Background and I debloat all I can. Ive since gotten 73000. Just a glitch perhaps. I'm on 2.1b beast mode zerolemon
I have noticed my camera doesn't work on low power when it is supposed to. Anyone else?
Good to go

You should be good to go in this case although it's always recommended to install all apps fresh
Keeps getting better...

Anyone have any luck with xda app or tapatalk? Website is ridiculously slow. Any other forum apps recommended for xda?
On Tx's rooted PD1 Rom. Is an MM version of this rom in the works? I am tempted to try this one, in the mean time.
What would be the steps to get on to it? Can I flash OK from MM? Would a newer version of Odin than mentioned in the OP work? How about a newer version of TWRP?
Would I need to Odin the OK version of Lollipop, or just the Baseband and firmware I have seen floating around?
For future reference, do you Odin them, or can you flash them in recovery?
If I flash back to the older stock rom, and then flash this rom, how do I get rooted again? Does this rom Self root? Would I have to use odin to reinstall TWRP? Then flash supersu in recovery?
So many questions. This rom looks so configurable and retains the multiwindow, TW stuff. I am dying to flash something new.
TIA for response!

Hope that helps. PE1 pre-rooted by tx_dbs_tx and debloated of Play Store install-able apps. Post #27 tells you he MAY make a MOAR port for MM. Post #45 states he IS working on a new N5/S7 port. Post #57 explains WHY following his instructions in OP is so important. His post on #145 confirms he is working on an N5 port, a N5/S7 port, and a MOAR 3.3 ROM. *Tips hat to tx_dbs_tx
I apologize if I came off rude in my response, that was not my intentions. I was just pointing you in the right direction to address your questions.
As for your questions about going back to OK1, you can flash the baseband and firmware through Odin - but if you are going to Odin in reverse, why not the whole tar is my question. Freeza is the one who provided us the basebands and firmware *Tips hat to Freeza
If you Odin the whole tar, you would have to Odin TWRP again and then you can either flash a custom ROM or flash SuperSU *Tips hat to Chainfire
Tx_dbs_tx's ROMs are pre-rooted though, so if you Odin the firmware and baseband for OK1 by Freeza, you could then just flash this ROM over it. I wouldn't recommend a dirty flash, however, because Lollipop and MM are SO different you could run into some issues.
Thanks for the response and all the info.
I got the Note 4 as a replacement when my N3 broke.
Was on an HTC EVO of some flavor, a while back. We were happily mixing and matching various components of updates until we got a nasty surprise with bricks. I can't remember the details, Just had to be careful and make sure what we were doing. So, now I am careful.

The best thing about Samsung, in my opinion, is it is VERY hard to brick them. You would literally have to Odin the completely incorrect ROM for it to brick - or so has been my experience. I love my note 4 and probably won't be changing it until it dies completely and there are no replacements.

I went ahead and went through the process. Was in a boot loop when I got through with flashing OK1. Wen't into the stock recovery and did a factory reset and did the odin thing again. think I used the wrong slot. It worked anyway.
followed the op, step by step. Made a backup in recovery as soon as I got it booted, Been setting it up to taste, all seems to be working as advertised,so far!
Thanks for the extra confirmation!
