Battery - ZenFone 2 Accessories

Does anyone know where I can purchase a battery for Zenfone 2?

External? As far as I know, internal bettery cannot be easily changed yet.

If you're referring to the internal battery, it's not easy to get to it. Though, not impossible. I saw a teardown on YouTube.
However, I didn't find internal batteries on sale for it..
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk

I have already done. Its fairly easy. Only issue is all the freaking adhesive tape, but if you heat it up with a hair dryer everything comes apart. The most time consuming part was removing all those screws on the midframe.
As far as the battery goes, I could only find an asus distributor in europe selling it for $50!

Hopefully replacements become available. I tend to replace and sell my phone annually, but with all the added charges I have been doing because of 5.0, I worry that capacity will be below 80% in a year....or less.

Cameron Sino Extended Battery - Review

Thought I would write a quick review of the extended battery I just bought.
Background
I was rather unhappy with my original battery as were most people! It only lasted me a day and as my job requires me to be out and about a lot, plus to call people often, I thought something more robust would be better. My solution = The Cameron Sino 2600mAH Battery!
Initial Impressions
The battery is twice the size of stock. The battery cover did not close on my phone. Total size isnt too bad. It nearly doubles the phone thickness, but when I come onto the testing section later this is a worthwhile sacrifice.
Cover Fit
The cover didnt fit so I decided to buy a 32gb micro sd card (which works fine), and to super glue the cover on. I figured that using a scalpel I could remove the back (I tested and it works fine) if ever required. Hopefully I wont need to access it ever, or until I upgrade in 18 months and decide to sell it.
Performance
After charging to 100%, running down to 0% 3 times, I have now had the phone on for 5 days and it's current charge level is 10%. As you can see this is awesome. My settings:
Helix Launcher
Wifi On about an hour a day
Light phone calls (around 5 hours)
Light texting - 20 odd a day
3g Off
GPS off
I imagine in real life conditions 3 days moderate use would be obtainable.
Conclusion
Overall I am very very happy with this battery. It really brings this phone into the "worthwhile for daily use" category (it should have been here originally ofcourse). Hopefully will be able to use the standard UI rather than Helix when 2.1 comes out. Damn app power leaks.
Rating: 4/5 (Battery door a poor fit)
Edit: Forgot to mention at £16.99 delivered (amazon.co.uk), you can hardly go wrong!!!
Could you post a pic of your phone now please?
Unfortunately my only camera is my phone...... sorry. Maybe someone else can!?
Wow! I assume you like your phone carrier since it is difficult now to remove the sim card.
Well my carrier (Three) used to be terrible. However they appear to have upgraded their cell towers and I now have full signal most places that my friends dont! So yeah I like my carrier!
Why dont you buy the extra thick covers that are all over ebay so that you dont have to glue anything?
Edit: My bad they arent on ebay, but there is a thread in the accessories forum, I'm sure of it.
theres a couple of posts and reviews in a thread on here already and myself and several others paid just £12.99 free postage from ebay
Yeah I rarely buy off ebay - had a lot of problems with sellers before (might just be my luck ). I saw the other reviews, and just wanted to do my own hehe.
any chance to get a pic of your phone? how it looks with the glued cover?
If i ma not wrong, that battery comes with a cover for X10 right? Are u saying that that cover that they provide does not fit properly?
Mine fits properly. You just have to force the sides of the cover into place and thats it. Battery life is much better than the oem one and has a very noticeable difference.
ordered one from http://www.megacapacity.com/26985.html . Lets see how it goes
Just updating this thread for potential cameron sino battery buyers. I got the package 4 days ago. I removed my stock battery, popped this battery in, used the back cover that was provided by them. The phone became almost twice the depth thanx to the battery.
Then the issues started. Even though the green light used to come on when connected to the mains, the phone never used to start. Initially i thought the charge is low, so left it overnight, but then the next morning i saw tht I still had the same issue. After fidgeting with it for sometime, i noticed that there is a 1(or 0.5) mm gap between the battery and contacts because of which the x10 did not start. I used a thin plastic sheet(amost like a sheet of paper) to hold the battery up against the contact and it worked fine. Right now the problem is that if i shake the phone a bit vigorously, it gets disconnected because of the shorter battery.
But i want to see how the battery lasts so am using it for now. It all boils down to the time i have to wait till next charge. If it really gives around 70% more time (as claimed by many in other forums) i will use it despite the bulkiness and the smaller battery issues. Thanx for reading!!!
so this comes with a case as well for £12.99?

Thanks for this info! I was having the same issue with this battery. I thought I was having a driver issue for extended batteries but after reading your post, I confirmed that it wasnt the case. Fixed the problem but with a different approach.
What I did was I soldered a small amount of lead onto the contacts on the battery (careful enough not to short the contacts) so that it would give better contact on pins of the x10.. I know the process seems a little bit drastic but it works! I can't make the phone shutdown even when I shook the hell out of this phone.

DIY: High quality, High capacity Extended Battery for Cdma G-Nex

Credit to ttabbal for starting the idea in the accessories forum. With that said,
This will be a process as I'm waiting for parts. Please bare with me. I will be including pics and possibly a video of complete tear down of both batteries all the way to installation in the phone.
Requirements:
Soldering skills
Soldering supplies
18awg wire
Other things still in the process of being thought out. Stay tuned!
2- Samsung OEM 1850mah stock batteries. Can be had at various prices.
1- Seidio extended battery back plate. Quality, fitment and price were my deciding factors. $14.95 directly from Seidio plus shipping. Call them directly at customer service (832)204-1118.
Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for any damage. Time and patience are required.
1. Remove Samsung label
2. Remove black cap on top of battery. Pretty much falls off with sticker.
3. Peel away NFC sticker leave intact for now on battery and pcb board.
4. Break away metal tabs on end of pcb and lift away nfc antenna and pcb board.
5. Completely remove antenna and pcb.
6. Clean thermal type paste off by gently peeling at one corner followed by rubbing alcohol.
7. Remove label and peel up nfc antenna on second battery. DO NOT REMOVE!
8. Place battery that goes into phone down and put bare battery on top as in the pics. I taped them together with clear 3m packing tape.
9. Make sure eveything lines up.
10. Seidio back came in the mail! Fitment is a little weird at first but once its all snapped in, it fits fine and it has a nice feel and its not totally huge.
Update
Updates:
4/23/12 ordered all parts needed, started initial process.
4/24/12 At work. Will update with more pics tonight. Have a variable temp. soldering iron in my possession as well. All items have been shipped. Pics will include tear down to bare battery without PCB and nfc antenna as well as removed paste substance that was under antenna.
Continued: Added more pics of battery stripped down with explination
4/25/12 Will take voltage readings with my fluke and simpson meters and label polarity on points on battery. Also will do some calculations to ensure the stock charger will be sufficient. Source a quality 18awg wire from work. Not much else I can do until parts come in. Getting excited about having 3700mah of prime Samsung battery power!
Continued: Second battery came. Did some more work.
4/26/12 seidio battery cover came in! No further work done.

Any comments on how the write-up is turning out? Suggestions?
uh what's going on here? i don't understand.
Two stock batteries are getting wired together in parallel to build a high quality extended battery. There is no comparison to OEM batteries. The after market stuff is crap.
The problem will be the charging circuit. Both batteries will only get half the current they are expecting.
Incorrect. 3800mah will charge at .5A in approximately 6 hours. I'm not sure what the rating is on the stock charger but if its 1A then it would take approx 3 hours for a full charge. Here will be no charging issues.
You're a go getter! I'll be keeping my eye on this. Nice work.

Crazy what a recession will drive people too...just carry the 2nd battery in your pocket...why risk frying your phone on a handmade extended battery?
but i respect u for doing it. good luck man.
How would it fry? They are batteries wired in parallel. I deal with high cost electronics everyday and know what's going on here its a battery, as long as its wired with correct polarity there will be zero issues. Positive to positive, negative to negative. Tried the whole second battery back in the day with an incredible. That lasted one day.
Come to think of it I'd be afraid of the second battery developing an internal short and melting in my pocket.
I have my second battery on the way hopefully to be here by this weekend. Can't wait
Just so you know soldering this ***** will not be for the faint of heart. Talk about tight quarters.
if you could get this to work. make a bunch and sell them at a lower price point than the aftermarket extended batts while still making a profit for your hard work

Replacement battery

Anyone replace their battery yet? I bought my note 10 refurbed and never felt it had the power it should. Will last 3ish hours with light gaming and web surf. I've seen some replacements on amazon, just wanted to get some input.

I bought one from zwxj on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. 20 minute install. Very easy. There a a few youtube videos you can search for that show the entire process.
I'm getting about 8 hours or more of screen on time now.

I bought one from new power 99, was getting 10% loss for every hour for the first few months but then it started to go alot faster. They have a 1 year garantee on there batteries so i just wrote them 2 days ago and explained what was happening and they sent me a replacement the day they got my email. It was a little more expensive but definitely worth it. They also told me to just keep the first battery. So i would definitely recommend them . They didn't argue or tell me I'm doing something wrong when I sent the email , they just shipped a new battery out. It comes with all the tools to take tablet apart and was very easy to do.
So my battery is fine except when playing games. It's drops insanely fast. I have a refurbished model and am thinking a new battery should do it. Anyone have that issue and a new battery take care of it?
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
My battery life is getting much worse, and the tablet is now 2 years old. Looks like time for a new battery here too...
Don't know if I need one yet. I know I leave it on the charger quite often and it seems to drain much faster under load than my refurbished nexus 7 2013, but standby time is much, much longer than my nexus 7. Disassembly also seems like a pain. I don't like that you have to pry on the screen

Like the rest of you, I'm experiencing severe, and rapid drain from my battery. I just bought a brand new OEM battery for my tablet. Hasn't come yet, and I will let you know about any difficulties. YouTube videos make it look like a fairly easy job, and it doesn't look like there's much pressure on the screen while you do it. By the way, just for giggles I decided to check how difficult it would be to access the battery. Take it from me-DO NOT TRY TO PRY THE SCREEN LOOSE! You might lose the power and volume switch caps. Only remove the screen if you need to replace it.
Rather, pull the S Pen from it's socket, and gently pry the back cover loose. From there, follow the directions on YouTube carefully. When you are done, gently reseat the rear cover, and make sure that it's properly seated. You'd never believe that piece of chrome coloured plastic was so important. Sheer Genius!
Well, hope that helps.

Get the one used in the most wellknown tutorial vid, from Newpower99. I wonder whether they ship overseas.
Any way to check to see how much power or life your battery has left? Just bought a used one and seems normal.

i got it from zwxj on Amazon. it was cheap. it was actually very easy to install. there was a small issue though. the cord that connects the battery is a little to long. and the plastic piece at the top isnt exactly correct. i was able to get it in though with minimal effort. they battery lasts forever. the only issue i have and it is a pita is it will randomly shut off when playing a game. doesnt happen all the time and there is no rhyme or reason to when it happens. i need to plug it into the wall and then it will restart with the same battery it shut off from. i could read things all day down to zero and it would never happen. wither way for the 15 bucks or so i spent on the battery it makes the tablet usable again and i love it.

I've bought one from AliExpress with the same issue in the little plastic piece on top so I guess it's from the same manufacturer. Mine constantly turns off. Even updating apps. It seems to be an issue with these batteries.
Also, I feel like it doesn't show the correct percentage. Is there something I should do after replacing the battery for it to show the correct percentage?
One last question and this goes to everyone. Using Ampere, could you please check and tell me whats the average drain in mA?
Thanks!
I use Battery Monitor Widget, included in the 3C Android Toolkit, and samplin battery data in sync with Android to save power. So Standby values should be too high to be representative, 0,05 to 0,2A. Idling with screen on, around 0,6A. Max Load should be over 2A or ten watts. These values should be calculated from the battery voltage instead of the Usb voltage. Attached to a power supply, the Note never seems to drain the battery, so there must be a ten watt power limit, it will simply no longer charge under full load.
Using improper plugs doesn't sound like a good idea, the contacts could get so hot, that the plastic of the plug und socket or the back cover could melt and the contacts could de-solder themselves from the main pcb.
Just ordered a OEM Samsung battery today. Will post when I getvand get it installed. Battery is totally flat on my device.

I had the exact same thing happening with mine after replacing the battery. Check your CPU clocking. If you're on a CM ROM it's probably overclocked & set to 1900MHz. If you set the governor to 1300MHz (which is the factory clocking speed, I think) it should quit shutting down like that. That's what I did and I haven't had it happen even once since. I think the CPU is just overclocked a bit much for the aftermarket battery to handle. Your tablet will run a bit cooler this way too.

I just replaced my battery as the tablet had become unusable. I found the same issue. Only happened once, I also found that I could only charge the device while off, I reseated the charging flex which seemed to correct the unable to charge while on. Now that I think about it, I was on a TW 4.4 rom rooted when it happened, I'll report back with findings.
I contacted Samsung support and they referred me to a distributor of official OEM Samsung parts. Ordered a battery last week. Unfortunately, delivery is in the 2 to 3 week timeframe, as it's coming from overseas. I will let you all know how replacement of it goes.

If you want or need directions for replacing the battery, when I did mine about a month ago I posted a step by step guide for what to do along with pictures (just ignore the part about removing the charging port if your only doing the battery). Batteries Plus can replace Moto X battery (1st gen, 2013)

My wife's Moto X (2013) needed a new battery. Called around and none of the local phone shops work on Motorola phones (weird). We would have had to mail it to a shop in Denver, the closest branch of uBreakiFix chain, who would do it. That would mea 3+ days without her phone, which would have been annoying but not terrible.
It turned out the local Batteries Plus could replace it! It took a day for them to acquire the battery, then dropped off the phone for 4 hours and it was done. It was $65, which is what uBreakiFix would charge.
Anyway, if you have an aging phone that's another place to check for replacing it.

Frankly saying, there is no much deal to replace any battery (not HTC 10, lol). You can do it even yourself.
Do Ebay for "new-other" EX34 battery, T3-T4 screwdriver, heat gun, plastic razor, and you are armed. Or call any local egg-head guy with right hands to not ruin the precious
I paid $35 after being quoted $50 over the phone, although I did bring the battery which I purchased on Amazon. The guy also put on the old-new-stock Moto wood back cover I bought on Aliexpress which involves moving over the lens and flash. Really happy with the results and certainly worth the money in labor vs me screaming at it for 2 hours and breaking something. I used Techbar which might be only in Miami but it only took them a couple hours to get it back to me.
I replaced the battery , using the battery from the htc one mini 2(2100mA) , the new was not good on my phone. box found battery 2500mA. now I want to put on 2900 mA, there is enough space. replacement cost me 10-15$

Box? You won't able to place there anything bigger that 2500. That's Moto G3 battery or something.
I tried 3000, no success. It's bulky

Does anyone know of any batteries that would fit in the Moto X (2013) that are larger-capacity than the stock 2200mah battery?
I looked at the battery for the Moto G (3rd Gen) and the dimensions I see state that it's a smaller battery, despite having a larger capacity. That seems unusual. And I don't know if the battery connectors in these phones are all the same? Is it a universal connector in phones?

No, it's different, though can fit some of them.
You have to unsolder battery can pins from narrow thin pcb of protection, and solder this board to new battery can. Of course, you should be as cautious as possible, not to short circuit anything! I doubt G3's will fit, but better try.

Did you try it? I am trying to find bigger battery too..

Make the 3t great again.

Hello,
I use the one plus 3t now for a while as my daily driver, unfortunately with time goes wear on the device. The battery is in poor condition, the charging cable does very easily slip out of the charging port and some things in the navbar has burned into the OLED display (The display thingy is not as important as the rest, so I may keep it, if it is expensive to fix). Is it possible to fix it myself or do I have an expert to repair this stuff (I have never done something like this)? It is still a fast phone with more than enough ram, so I do not want to throw it away. How much would a repair cost for me? I am looking for services and vendors in Germany/central Europe.
Thank you in advance

For the charging cable slipping out, try cleaning the charging socket on the phone with a tooth pick or something pointy and hard. I cleaned it and a lot of jammed up dirt came out. Now my USB cable snaps into the socket again. For other things, good luck
Hello! I got my 3T last summer used from Swappa. It was advertised as "mint/like new" so I was disappointed to find how much wear there was on the device. The backside of the phone had some dot-like things. I suppose scratches from little rocks getting in through the case. The battery health was bad, had roughly 70% ish, don't remember. The cable was in bad shape and the charging port really loose and would loose connection.
So, I got a charging port off eBay. Maybe around $10. A new USB cable for $1 from China, but it's exactly as good as the original, and is fully functional to this day. I got a new housing/backside thing for $10 (China too). Exactly as the original, no issues whatsoever. I got a supposedly "extended" 3700mAh battery from china. That was a big fat lie. I got a refund. The battery in truth was 3000mAh. I'm still using it, I don't mind. Finding a good battery is either too much trouble or too expensive.
So, I installed things as they arrived. But it should take 30 minutes or so to do by yourself. The difficult or troublesome part is getting the phone open. But it's not impossible, and otherwise the phone is extremely easy to repair. But you must be careful.
I'm perfectly satisfied to this day with my refurbished-by-me 3T. Won't be upgrading anytime soon.
So i did it today. It was really not that hard, just the old battery was hard to remove. All in all a really easy repair. I saw some green marks from my dishwasher incident, but it seams that everything is working well. The battery is working, charging, as it should. With a new tempered glass protector on top it looks like new.
Which tempered glass did you get?
