[Q] CHEAP but RELIABLE tempered glass and case - ONE Accessories

Hello,
my newly purchased OnePlus One is on it's way and since our beloved bacon has that protruding display that it is kind of out of the body of the phone I'd like to buy a tempered glass and a good+cool case that will hold my OPO and protect it against screen shattering, scratches and other damages.
Please, if you can suggest me something cheap and good, add links.
Thank you very much.
God bless you.

Get things from eBay and be very careful not to drop the phone

Super cheap, easy to put on (Non Wet) . fits one plus one screen perfectly.

Nillkin frosted in black with a orzly tempered glass, It provides a good amount of security. After almost 1 year, no scratches on the glass and I've dropped my phone a while biking a few times and it looks brand new. Plus the phone looks hella sexy in the nillkin, it feels great too

Hi!
You can either buy a cheap glass or a good quality ones pleae note you will get cheap one for around 3 dollars they look the same as expensive one but the real difference will be visible when you use it the really cheap one will have bubles and most of the cheap one are either not tempered at all or not properly tempered so they will break. They wont have anti fingerprint coating and also wont be scratch resistant.
Remember at the end of the days its a glass and almost all glass will look the same but even there are different qualities the best once are from Japan.
We as novoice wont know the difference that includes me hence we suggest branded stuff which are expensive but tried and tested and trusted

GUYS PLS CHECK OUT A BRAND CALLED CASEBASE FOR ONEPLUS GLASS SCREENS
they do two for the price of one and the fitting is spot on. Feel free to trash me here online if you find it to be a bad fit
good videos on youtube as well

Okay so I'm reporting back with the case and tempered glass that I ordered (mentioned above).
Both the case and the glass fit perfectly and are looking very nice together. (That orange case, man, is beautiful!)
So actually I'm satisfied!
Thank you everybody for your suggestions. Hope these suggestions will once come handy to new users.

Mime Vs Nillkin Vs Glass-M Vs Spigen GLAS

I want to buy a tempered glass screen for N5 within a week or two. But I can't decide between :
1)Mime Ghost Glass or Feather Glass
2)Glass-M tempered glass
3)Nillkin tempered glass
4)SPIGEN GLAS
Currently, I am slightly inclined towards Mime(read good reviews). I heard that SPIGEN GLAS has some issues and the fix can take a while. I guess that is out of my option. My Requirements are : a) the touch should work fine b) no bubbles c)should work fine with a case.
Can you please suggest me which one to buy?
Thanks in advance,

I just received my Nillkin protector. I'm hoping to install it tonight so I will try to post some pictures for you. My first impressions are that the packaging is great and the camera protector (not glass) seems great. The kit for installation is pretty good too. Can't wait to install it.
If it turns out to be rubbish I'll plump for a MIME one. Everyone speaks very highly of them.

I had the (defective) Spigen GLAS.tr, and am still waiting for that replacement.
Applied the MIME Ghost last night and I can say that it's one of the best glass protectors I've ever used in terms of feel, rounded edges, adhesion (even after a couple of pull-offs and re-applications, to get rid of specks with scotch tape), and so forth.
Put it this way - I have a replacement Spigen on the way at some point, as well as a pair of the Nillkin units - but I just finished ordering another MIME Ghost in case something happens to this one.
Think about orzly glass screen protector, put mine about a week ago flawlessly, no bubbles, very good touch and feeling response, cut out are perfect
And is laminated glass, a thin plastic sheet coupled with glass, same as car windscreen, don't know if other are laminated or tempered glass

I bought the Nillkin tempered glass screen protector. First time ever using tempered glass and I will never go back to anything else. It simply blows me away and looks great. It genuinely looks like I'm going naked screen wise. No air bubbles, comes with instructions and all the necessities. Overall I highly recommend. :good:

That's good to know. Mine should arrive today or tomorrow!
I bought the Nilkin, and I am waiting for it. I bought it mainly because the price was low, I hope it will be of good quality
Glad somebody has had a good experience with the NIllkin. Didn't get a chance to fit mine tonight so will have to do it tomorrow. Do you have a case with yours Benman715?

I relieved the MIME and just put it on. It looks great fits great and I can't even tell its there.
Only downside is it took me a couple tries to get it on straight and now I have a couple pieces of lint under it

I've had my Nillkin fitted for the past 24hours or so, I'm very happy with it. Excellent quality, fitted up perfectly, looks/feels great and it was a good price.
I loved the MIME Ghost glass and Feather glass on the HTC One and will be looking to get one of them soon for the N5. My Spigen GLAS.tR totally carcked it so got a refund for that. Never tried the Nillkin. Has anyone actually tested the theory of the Nillkin being "anti-explosion"? LOL.
Anyone tested these with polarized sunglasses? Specifically the Mime or Nillikin

Can anyone with any of these glass screen protectors comment on wether there is or would be any affect of the cutouts being over the camera and sensor versus only a cutout for the earpiece.
Also Can anyone report whether any of these glass screen protectors resist fingerprints well or not?
Just ordered a Nillkin, will let y'all know what its like when I get it.

Yes I do. I have the spigen hybrid case. Overall I'm smitten with the look and feel of tempered glass. The case is a fingerprint magnet unfortunately. Best of luck with everyone who ordered tempered glass. Its well worth it IMO.
Does anyone have any photos of MIME, Nilkin, Glass-M? (I have Spigen GLAS.tr which has a lifted corner)
But I heard that Spigen GLAS nano's are coming out soon.
Is anyone as annoyed as me with Spigel's absolutely ridiculous line of product and naming choices? No clarity between feature, functionality, what's what, etc. Add in the Amazon factor and it's pure chaos. They might have the best cases, but they need some serious help in business management. If I ran their company, I'd have addressed this immediately.
Anecdotally, I'm nowhere near the first confused person. Someone much smarter than I (which, really, is most people) found their offerings wildly confusing and simply ordered one of everything before deciding to return all but the one which suited him best. I did the same given their complete inanity.

I got the defective Spigen glass and just received nillkin tempered glass and installed it about an hour ago.
It seems good overall and unlike Spigen glass, it has a cut out for the proximity sensor.
there are small bubbles with nillkin protector and I am hoping it would disappear by tomorrow.
I've always loved spigen's protectors, but this time it was a big NO NO.
I mentioned this on another thread but my Orzly after 5days of use was scratched quite a bit. I've no idea how as it only sat in my pocket.
I have a Nilikin on order but I'm currently using a £5 'helicopter blade coating' protector I got on eBay and it's great, no Orange peel and you really couldn't tell it's there. Still like the glass protectors though so I'll go with the Nilikin when it arrives.

Mime ghost glass is out of stock. I have sent them an email. If it won't be available within a week, I am buying nillkin. Or as someone suggested, I may buy both.

Which glass screen protector?

Hi,
I've had a Nillkin glass screen protector on for a few months, and the glass has slowly started to lose its sticky around the corners and keeps air bubbles all the time. It's also got a slight chip on one of the edges.
So I'm looking for a replacement, preferably one that doesn't have a cut out for the light sensor.
I don't particularly want to pay £30 for a spigen one, especially if it goes the same way after a couple of months. So I'm looking for around £15/$20. At the moment I'm looking at the Glass-M one, but would appreciate some other recommendations? Ideally one available in the uk that I don't have to import from the states or HK.
Thanks
Here's a good start, on top of the many threads specific to the different brands:

I can recommend the Glass-M 0.15mm glass. Great fit and feels great on being so thin. I purchased from a Hong Kong seller on eBay for £9.50 delivered and delivery was only 1 week or thereabouts.
thanks
Thanks for the links =)
I was looking for a Nillkin tempered glass because it's way cheaper than Spigen, but then, after reading some reviews about webs spider and other issues, I decided to buy the glass-m 0.15mm for a few more bucks.
I am very happy with my choice, it's perfect
Well, im looking for one glass too... I have been looking for the shield armor one (or something like that, I don't remember the name of it) I see many reviews and looks like works very good on the iPhone... I don't know if buy it or no (25$), what you say?

Thanks for the replies - can I just confirm the GlassM one doesn't have the cut-out for the light sensor?
Also, would the thinness of this not go against any additional protection from dropping that the glass ones tend to offer?

The Glass-M only has a cut out for the earpiece.
With regard to drop protection. I don't think there will be much in it. A serious drop on any glass protector will break it I believe. Its mainly for scuff and scratch protection. I went for the thin 0.15mm option because I wanted the phone to be as close to naked as possible.

I'm more thinking about the screen underneath the protector. Although not guaranteed, the "extra protection" offered by a glass protector is one of the draws for me.

I'm not sure a glass protector will protect much against a drop onto a concrete or hard surface from height. I think it all depends on how it lands, the glass protector will protect against scratches and scuffs should it survive the impact from the fall.
I'll tell you which one NOT to buy.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400653222919?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
The cutouts are on the wrong side of the screen protector. It would have fit perfectly if it werent for this issue. The adhesive side has both cutouts on the wrong side of the protector, its like it was made backwards. Seemed good quality for 8 bucks but its unusable.
As this thread is dedicated to glass screen protectors, does anyone use a glass screen pro with a tpu case?
I'm tempted by the iloome flex but unsure if my case will case the protector to raise at the edges
I'm using the Anker glass screen protector - it feels better than the stock screen and when the coating rubs off or it gets broken/scratched you can replace it with another one for around £12. I've already had the stock Nexus 5 screen coating rub off.
No drop in image quality at all. I really wasn't sure about it but there is no downside to it.
It works perfectly well with my Nexus 5 Cruzerlite TPU Case (A2) and the combination means the phone is pretty much bullet proof whilst still being slim and lightweight.

i have the nilkin on and its not cut properly !
I use the Nillkin, but you can't really go wrong with either case. A majority of people seem to like both of these cases when it comes to screen quality. I can't say much about the cutouts though, since some people think it's too long. Consider the Orzly too!

you have 1 I can review?
I bought both screen protectors at once, since I was expecting my OPO in the mail and didn't know which SP would arrive in time. But since my Nillkin does have rounded edges and is cut correctly, I won't have any reason to try the Godosmith unless or until the Nillkin shatters.
I'd love to know why some Nillkin SPs have sharp corners and others do not. My assumption would be that the sharp ones are counterfeit. There's a code on the packaging of official Nillkin products that you can check.
I've checked codes for Nillkin cases in the past and they've always proved authentic. I didn't bother with the Nillkin SP because it fit correctly and the edges were rounded.
Nillkin rocks.
Im not sure about the Nillkin but I purchased and installed the Godosmith on my OnePlus, looks and feels great, no complaints here.

"Child" Proof OPO Case

My gf might be getting a OPO but my main concern is the durability of being phone being repeatedly dropped by her daughter. What are cases that you guys would recommend?
I was looking at the Diztronic case and get a ORZLY glass protector? do you think that'll hold up with a 1year old?

THIS PHONE IS NOT MADE FOR DROPS!
But that will help make an '100% proof drop phone!
Buy an Aluminium Bumper for Oneplus , then equip in the Oneplus
Buy an Tempered glass protector above 0.3MM Dont buy the cheap one
Buy an big flip cover, and equip with the aluminium buper on phone

Not many flagship smart phones are designed to withstand getting dropped over and over, I understand that. Just trying to see what would be recommended.
the aluminium bumper seems like it would get damaged fairly quickly, ive looking toward poly or rubber/poly cases that you'd recommend? someone recommend I get the Tudia case.
The ORZLY glass is .24mm
specifically, what glass do you prefer?
I've been thinking about getting this case :

Why does a 1yr old need to use a phone? go buy a used ipod touch for cheap and let them use that.
Both my young kids learned on ipod touch's. Much cheaper than my phone.
Buy a case, a good tempered glass screen protector, and a pack of sugru. Build your own bumpers onto the case extra extra thick for protection. Viola!

The phone isnt for them, but if they see the OPO or any phone within reach, it will be theirs until they let it go/drop it/or it get taken away and the world ends.

If it's repeatedly going to get dropped, it will eventually break. Keep it with you at all times so you know that it won't be taken.
But if you need the most protective package available, here are my suggestions.
http://www.evolutivelabs.com/collec...rotector-for-oneplus-one/products/oneplus-one
The Rhinoshield - although made out of awful-feeling plastic - provides more protection to the display in your case than a tempered glass screen protector. Since it's plastic, it's a lot less susceptible to drops because it's a lot less brittle than tempered glass. It also uses their technology that makes their screen protector better for protection than a regular plastic screen protector.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261651683480
The JKase Diablo is the only rugged case available for the OnePlus One. It's a two-piece TPU & Plastic case, which in combination with each other makes the device more drop resistant.

Question Protecting Oneplus 9 pro

Hi guys and sorry for my short English, nobody is perfect, I am French...

yes I hear about that but I think that it is only a plastic film unuseful in case the phone falls on the screen and I thought that a tempered glass or a polymer protection would be quite better; no !?
cases are being sold for some time, got 9 and 9Pro transparent case on the way in case I will buy the phone Factory foil is enough for me, on each phone. Still in good shape on 8Pro. I think they're thinnest, most comfy and don't break edge gestures or fingerprint like those expensive foils and glasses. Worthless investment if you ask me, by the time it scratches you can have a new model already..

thx for your answer. The protection given with the phone is it just a film or is solid, I mean in case of falling does it protect from the ground impact and avoid the screen to break or does it only protect from scratches?

Scratches. If you're that worried, you need a huge rigid case or flip case, as glass cover will cover you only to some extent (a bit extra protection, the few extra cases where you'll be breaking the glass cover only). People who claim were saved by glass cover only usually cannot prove the glass would break without it.. and that is why the cover business works well. I prefer comfort, and light weight (i count every gram), and out of my dozens phones in decades, i fatally dropped NONE so i RISK it happily, if my next 1400$ flagship will break one day after buying, i can't care less, because i saved so much money not buying expensive screen protection in the past. But that's my philosophy.. It's not my recommendation. My enemy is scratches from keys and pockets. I just need a foil. Thanks Oneplus and Samsung for providing it for free
Buy a case Buy insurance!
Glass backs break easily, thanks to an insurance company my Oneplus 9 pro will only cost about $100.
My OP 8Pro was totaled because of a cracked back panel.
As the one above me said, spend some bucks and buy insurance. Pair that with a sandstone case and the pre-applied protector, and you will be good for at least a year.
It would be shame to cover that gorgeous screen with some clunky tempered glass protector.
I just bought a Caseology Parallex off Amazon. It is a nice case. I had it on other phones.

Close enough! I am Mexican
I looked at the Caseology Parallex on Amazon and might buy that. But I think I'll wait another week or two and see what else is available. It comes with a clear TPU case, so I'll just use that if I don't have a permanent one yet.
I don't really care for screen protectors because they ruin the impressive touchscreen experience for me. I read there's a factory applied screen protector, so I'll see how that works. I will probably get a protective film (or glass?) for the camera because my current one got a little scuffed up in the 2 years I've had it. Does anyone else use a protector for the camera?

The ones I was looking at on Amazon have cutouts for the camera, just like the cutouts for camera or speaker on a regular screen protector. So there's no glass over the camera itself, but the raised area around the camera is protected.
