was Yureka a failed product that lead to the release of Yureka Plus? - YU Yureka General

so Hello guys I just realised the Yureka Plus was out and the production of Yureka stopped, maybe this was due to the poor camera and sensor issue that Yureka was facing, that lead to Yureka Plus release.

I don't think so

IMHO, I don't think so. Yureka was a hit and I'm not saying it jsut for the sake of being a Yureka user but because it is, just look at the total number of "Yureka users" on the official forums and you'll get an idea. As for the poor Camera and Proximity sensor issue, I think they have already been taken care of. I never faced any of those issues and for the ones who did, Yu released an incremental update taking care of that.
Now the updates, that are pushed on to the devices have an inbuilt tool to calibrate your sensor, you play god in every aspect except that the customization options on Yureka's CM11 or CM12 are kind of less when compared to those of One Plus One. As for Yureka Plus, upgrading the Camera and resolution looked like a sensible thing to do. The only con that Yureka has is it's battery life, and having said that there's nothing been done to improve that in the upcoming version of the device. An increased battery life for the cost of another 500 - 1000 bucks would have just been as amazing as it sounds.
Rest assured, the device was a hit and the success story will be continued with the upcoming model of the phone. There were people who whined and there will be some who will but that's not gonna stop people from buying and appreciating a fine device that is light on their wallets and fits in their budget.

Yureka Plus... Is it upto the mark??

Actually I am a pro user of its ancestor Yureka. But I decided to get one more and this time It was the successor Yu Yureka Plus. Whats new was just a gimmick the sony IMX214 sensor would just tie with the older sensor of Yureka which I found to be more satisfactory in results. Regarding the full hd screen yureka plus stands out with a 10/10. But the successor do have its flaws. Detailed below: Compared to "The Zeus" Yureka running on CM 12s LRX22G
1. Poor battery performance
2. Heating Issue Persistent
3. Choppy UI
These being the few that I have discovered since I used the new Yureka Plus for over a week of time. But speaking of Yureka I did address some sound issues(crackling) when playing music while connected to mobile data connection which I did not find in the Plus.
Verdict: Yureka being a good niche in my development work with a few tweaks and mods. Yureka Plus is good on screen rest all is a gimmick.
YU is just playing to outrun its competitors by disguising re-branded Chinese phones. Courtesy see the manufacturing details when you buy this new phone.

Yureka has more rom and kernals compared to Yureka +

Bye Bye T2 ultra And Sony Too

hi friends
thanks for all help and post
but now its time to say bye bye to t2 ultra as well as sony as i have bought Mi 4 in just 13999 under amazon scheme
reasons for leaving sony
no value for money
no update
no support
poor quality of hardware
what i will miss
you all a lot
from sony's end
delayed updates
less bug fixing
less community support
i really loved sony but at the end i found it not worthy
so last time bye guys have fun folks
Why mi 4? For price or what?
I'm also thinking to shift..
My reason..
No xposed,
no cm..
Less ram & internal memory compared to few latest models
etc
Thinking for moto x play or Asus selfie..
Already got Asus zp 2 best phone.. Lots of updates..
MI 4 has official cm12.1 support
3 gb ram
Yes internal memory is issue but not huge 11gb for me is enough
Abt xposed I don't think you might need it
I was using xposed for below reasons on sony
Call recording
Memory management
Screen effects
Theme and notification customization
Above all I get in miui buid in
Its been 3 days I have been playing with the device and haven't found a reason to mood or root
Everything is there which really matters
Yes I miss one thing which is double tap and gesture wake which is not there
But after reading forums at miui developer has to say such features use high battery so has not been kept
Regarding update miui has two roms developers and stable
Where in developer rom gets weekly update and stable gets monthly update
One more thing MI 4 still running 4.4 and not clear about 5.1 update but miui7 developer is available and stable is confined next month most probably
YouTube review from geekranjeet c4etech really helped me to choose from
Mi4
Mi4i
One plus one and two

Is Xiaomi Mi 5s comparable to these smartphones ???

Hey , I'm about to buy a new smartphone and I'm wondering which smartphone will be the best for 300 bucks.
So what I want is a solid build smartphone ,weight doesn't bother me .A powerful CPU and sufficient RAM for Browsing internet,Watching Youtube, Social Media(Multitasking) and playing occasionnaly some games (asphalt,..) .A good Camera I don't care about low light or recording 4K videos I just want some Good Pictures ,more details and sharpness and accurate autofocus since I will use it for social media. And a durable Battery at least one day without charging !!! ; and a loud speakers not the loudest as the Axon 7 but at least audible.
After many searches I found that the Mi 5s is the best, but I heard that some users have encountered some problems with the fingerprint scanner , 4G connectivity , and battery draining too fast, and Problems with multitasking as the phone had to reload apps everytime , I dunno if it's a problem of some units or general.
But I also found these Smartphones : Leeco Le Pro 3, Leeco Le Max 2, Zuk Z2 , Honor 8 , ASUS Zenfone 3, Meizu Pro6, Huawei Honor V8 , Xiaomi Mi 5 , Zte Nubia 11 ,..., if u know something else in this price range please tell me.
So My Priorities are Performance , Camera , Solid Build , Battery , Audio .
Please Guys , tell me which smartphone can handle my needs ? is Mi 5s better than those listed above ?
PS: My Provider 4G bands are 800/1800/1600 Mhz
Thanks in advance.
I was in the similar position as you. I looked into it and came back with the conclusion that of all the Chinese phones, it's the software which a lot of reviews said was jut not as polished as miui. Coming from a nexus stock Android user experience I was a bit worried, but I was dead wrong. I love miui, it feels very nice. Has a similar notification drawer to LG. There were complaints against the mi5 build quality, so I ended ip with the mi5s (4/32 varient due to low price).
The fingerprint reader isn't as fast and magic as my nexus 5x but it's only a small nigle (I use trusted location). Not had any issues with it and an recommending it to my friends
With future updates miui will be polished more and more no worry...
Sent from my MI 5s using Tapatalk
First I was going to get the oneplus t3 but it's slighty to large. I love the oneplus bcs it's as close to stock android you can come without having to flash your own custom ROMs. But since I want a phone that is 5.0-5.5" I found the Mi 5s as a possible alternative.
questions:
1. Can I easily root this phone and flash a nougat ROM so I can use google play store?
To compare I'm currently on Sprint with a rooted HTC 10 running the VENOM ROM.
2. I'm switching to T-mobile where I was planning on using this the Mi5s. I travel abroad quite a bit, does the mi5s have all the bands for international travel?
3. Anything I would miss from my current HTC 10 or oneplus 3t if I make the switch?
Thanks!!
Xiaomi Mi6 will be released this month, you can wait Mi6.

Should I buy Lenovo Z2 Plus ??

Hey guys
So I'm here asking about the question in the title
I want to know whether the kernel sources are released by OEM or not ?
And I'm getting this phone for only 15K INR
Is there any android developement like custom roms possible on this phone ?? OR should I buy redmi note 4 which has a better support ??
I don't want to switch devices for few more years
Please help me here
That are two phones hard to compare.. snapdragon 820 vs 625, 5inch vs 5.5inch etc, fingerprint on front vs on the back etc... how should we know what you need or want?
Both are great..
And for custom roms > how about if you look into the roms, kernels, recovery.. section? Dont be so lazy man

Warning: Very long story
My purchase of 3Gb variant of Redmi Note 4 was final but could not buy it (everything happens for a good) as delivery was not available by flipkart in my area. I was very sad and finally decided to buy a new, seal packed Redmi Note 3 from ebay at Rs. 9300 (Rs. 10400 was listed price, after applying coupons it became Rs. 9300) as it had performance and recently got franco kernel too (previously available only on Pixels, Nexus and One Plus devices). Finally saw Lenovo Z2 Plus on Snapdeal for Rs. 12000 and immediately purchased it (was hesitant at first reading reviews on Amazon but could not resist SD 820 at this price).
The phone is great, no heating issues and was much better than Redmi Note 3 (Screen quality, camera quality, general performance, looks) when compared side by side as my friend had one. Battery is also good, I get 5-6 hours Screen on time on 4G network with hotspot on and around 7-8 hours SoT on WiFi.
About development, both devices have great roms but Redmi Note 4 has no custom kernel as kernel source codes are not released currently but may or will get them in future when sources are released. Also if you want to be like a trickster and change TV channels of any TV in lobby of any hospital/Hotel, go for Xiaomi phones as they have IR blaster.
The Z2 Plus recently got official Nougat whereas Redmi Note 3 and 4 are still on Marshmallow but that does not matter as you are planning to use a custom rom and all three have 7.1.2 Nougat custom roms.
Conclusion
If you like very good developer support with some good performance, go for Redmi Note 3
If you like development with superior battery life, go for Redmi Note 4
If you want a phone with sheer raw power and the one that does not slow down even after 3 years and a great value for money and brag among friends, go for Z2 Plus.
Currently Z2 Plus is available at Rs.13000 at Snapdeal but wait for amazon sale on 11th, previously at an Amazon sale, it was available for 12K and if you get any bank discount (sometimes 10 to 15% off on SBI Card etc during sale), you can get it for 10-11K too.
Go for the black one, it looks very good
Hope this helps
You can also watch reviews and comparison of phones on youtube for better decisions.

I am absolutely agree with hp5942's statements. Development for Z2 is only growing, it will be awesome in a few months. Note 3 has one of the best dev support and will have it for a long time. Note 4 is better looking and feeling than Note 3, but it is less speedy device.
I'm fine with front mounted finger print sensor
I want to use device for at least 2-3 years
Which one do you suggest me ?

For long run always go with the phone with more performance.
My friend still has no performance issues with his Mi4 (SD 800, flagship at that time) even after 2.5 years.
if u cant get more money .. get it .. if u can get a bit more.. get oneplus 3t

Why do you guys confuse much. Its good phone for the price. For 13k you are getting snap 820
Its like for the price of audi you getting buggati
Why to get confused. There are minor software hiccups. As you are familiar with xda you can always use custom roms
Hardware wise there are no issues. Build quality is damm solid. I have thrashed my phone many times, but it still survives.
Back glass is lil fragile.
Should i buy lenovo z2 plus now at 12k?

This phone was a worthy buy @18K, it's definitely a steal @12k, but if you can wait, BigBillionDay/GreatIndian sale is around the corner, you might get an even sweeter deal.

I bought z2 plus(4,64gb) @ 9.5k from amazon
(Actually 11k - 1.5k cashback)
So wait for any amazon sale
May be buy it on Diwali
For those not used to pimp their phones (unlock bootloader, flash rom etc...), i think Zuk Z2 is not a good choice as the original version is not perfect. But if you like to flash and customize your phone, so yes, 10 times yes,it's a very good phone (have it for almost 1 year and still happy with it).

is lenovo z2 plus worth buying?

i'm planning to buy a phone to keep for atleast 2 years., and i got 3 options. MiA1,Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo z2 plus . The primary requirement are battery life, reliable performance and decent camera. Due to it's powerful processor i thought of giving z2 plus a shot. therefore my questions are how is the battery life really? i'm not a gamer and i mostly browse web. I heard that the camera lens of z2 plus is plastic and scratches easily and is lenovo providing any software updates as of now ? because updates like Airtel VOLTE is much important for me if i'm going to use my phone for 2 years .

Go for mia1(good camera) and z2+(performance)
First of all, to clarify, the camera lens on ZUK Z2 Plus is glass and not plastic, and matches the decent-level requirement you have. So you should definitely consider buying it over Mi A1 due to its superior processing power.

you sure it's glass? since the lens on mine has micro scratches everywhere, although it's not as bad as some sony xperia lens
I am using Z2 Plus and I would agree, MiA1 has much better camera but it's priced higher at present compare to Z2 Plus.
Given the price of Z2 Plus, it's a steal deal if you can compromise with night or low light photography since under daylight, Z2 Plus camera works just fine.
The main attraction of Z2 Plus is the SoC. Nothing comes close to SD820+4GB combo unless you spend at least 3 times more to get the nearest 800 series competition.
Go with A1. That's all i will say. I have Z2 and my sister has A1. The performance difference is really negligible between 625 with clean android build and 820 with crap OS.
I have the same 'problem' but between MiA1 and Zuk Z2 (the normal one, not the plus).
I don't know which buy but I like the 5'' of the Zuk
I've Z2. And if it gets bricked. I would buy it again. It's all a matter of priorities. If you use camera like 15 Pictures Daily, don't but this phone. But if you want to own Flagship grade specs, feel how fast is 2.1 GHz and how much is 4GB RAM, know how fluid Android Experience can get, then buy ZUK.
Since you posted your question here, you'll come to the difference between 625 & 820.

Well I think both models have the same processor, I don't really now which buy, Z2, Z2 plus or Mi A1
Just buy zuk z2.
Then unlock bootloader and flash any oreo rom with hdr+ enabled.
That ll solve your camera problem.
Camera is nt everything. Performance also matters.
And snap 820>>> 625
MiA1 very good camera avg battery
Redmi Note 4 jack of all, master of none, but good battery capacity
Lenovo z2 plus master of all minus low light camera and 5inch if you like,
you will have to use custom roms for updates and better performance at low budget you will get this.
so choose between priorities
Used RN4 first, it lacked the performance and camera. But had an awesome SOT 11HRS.
Then my friend's MiA1 for a week. The camera was awesome but battery was meh and performance was okayish.
Now rocking z2 plus, awesome performance with sub-par camera.

Planning to Buy OnePlus 5t in 2019?

Hello guys
Sorry for the long question.
I am very confused these days, i sold Redmi Note 7 some days ago but now i don't understand that what device is perfect for me in my low budget. I have some devices in my mind:
1. Pocophone F1
2. Realme 3 Pro
3. OnePlus 5T
What i need:
I really like to install different roms on my deivce, occasionally gaming and most of the time watching movies etc.
Why i am not able to decide ?
1. Pocophone F1
Big notch taking over 70% of status bar. Heard / saw different threads claiming that the devices has touch screen / hardware issues.
2. Realme 3 Pro
Realme 5 Pro also available around the world but not in Pakistan. In Pakistan only option so far is Realme 3 Pro. Overall phone seems to be a good deal. But there is no Android development.
3. OnePlus 5T
This device is my most favorite device. Do you guys recommend me to buy 5T in 2019? and i also want to now, that is there any common hardware related issues to check for before buying?
Looking for response from you guys.
Plenty of ROM support and easy methodology to tamper, if you aren't a fan of OOS which is quite good anyway. Updates are still being released quite frequently through the beta.
Bought mine on release, coming up on 2 years ago now. Only complaints I have hardware wise:
-charging port can be finicky, but I need to clean it.
-camera is very average (but GCam mod with root + camera library dot fix performs very well)
I don't see myself getting a different phone for at LEAST another year and a bit. Take of that what you will.
I bought oneplus 5t 2 weeks a ago and i would say buy the damn phone you won't regret it, previously i was using samsung a50 but was not satisfied with the performance, oneplus 5t is blazing fast, go for it
Good phone but two things that suck
Vibration motor is horrible. It's so weak that I can't even hear it most of the time
Camera quality out of the box is just average
This two things didn't seem to be important to me in the past but you do notice the difference after using the phone for 2 years
In my opinion 5T is still beast but official beta support had dropped
Not that much custom ROMs available (many maintainers and developers switched to op6 or higher models)
Better try to buy op6or6T
Although open beta has been stripped for the 5t I'm still more than happy with my 5t. I even prefer OOS over the custom ROMs because it's really fast, stable and the gesture control kicks ass and is way better than that Google thing. Plus have in mind that OP already confirmed Android q. It may take a while but for now OP is still going strong with security patches. As long the battery is fine so am I.
Dear all,
I have removed some off topic posts from this thread. Please post with manners and contribute to the discussion. Thanks.

The Pocophone has larger battery and an IR scanner which is amazing for face recognition. But the screen is not good as 5T's.
Oxygen OS is probably the best out there. It is light and so fast and allows so many customizations. I bet you won't be bothered with custom ROMs!
Snapdragons 835 and 845 don't differ much either.
I'd go for the 5T if I found both at similar price.
