Battery life on the new 10C software - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
After the update, for some unknown reason, the battery percentage goes down really really fast, and it was not like that on the 10B. Just a general idea. When I listen to music, and the mobile data is on, it would go down from 57 to 54 in half an hour. Something is not right, and this happens ever after I made a factory reset...
Did anyone with the same problem managed to solve that crazy battery percentage decrease ?

Not really had chance to notice battery life properly, but it doesn't seem to be draining faster. Also my device has definitely been getting much warmer since the update. Think I'm going to roll it back to 10b(c)

Yeah it's possible, need the KDZ of the appropriate version to flash using the engineering tools.
There is a guide already posted in the General section, look in the sticky roll up thread.

battery percentage

Hey guys, just wanted to ask you if any of you had had a smilar problem. Mainly, my battery percentage goes for example to 95%, and then after a few minutes it goes back to 97%-.. is this normal, or is it time for me to change the battery ?

hasn't happened to me yet. You'd better let the battery discharge completely once and charge it fully. Then see if it works or not
Apart from enoromous readings battery works fine.

stock or cm or aosp rom?
Stock 4.1.2
i didn't have that on stock only on cm and aosp
Heeeeey I started to notice this on my stock rom 4.1.2 yesterday after reading your thread :| But you can be sure that it's not a problem since I've bought my g last week so it can't be because of your battery age. It's natural. I think it's impossible to show the correct and exact battery percentage in any OS. To test, you can let your battery discharge to the end and you'll see that the end is sometimes 3 percent (the device goes off when it has 3 percent or more left) and sometimes you get 0 percent but the device is on Maybe that's why percentage is off by default.
I contacted LG and they said it's normal. Is it normal?

Yes it is, it happens on my device from time to time and I believe it's guesstimation technology :highfive:
What can drain battery faster on this phone?
Browsing the internet through Wifi or 3G?
Thanks.

[Q] Battery life question! Should I be worried or is this normal??

Hi all,
Just got my P6 a couple days ago and I have noticed that it seems to drain quite fast (for me more than I would like anyway). It also gets pretty hot on the back when using WiFi and I thought maybe these could be related (heat = energy) and thought maybe I have a faulty unit. Here is a screen after a full days usage. You can see that I basically used it very little. WiFi was off most of the day. Data was on. Bit of browsing. Bit of reading. Maybe literally 3 or 4 phone calls. Running latest stock Jelly from Huawei with (I think) 1.6 EMUI.
Is this normal in your experience?
Are any ROMs/launchers better for battery life?
Any hints for getting more life out of it?
Basically I have a week to take it back if I think it's faulty so looking for some comparisons!!
Thanks in advance.
B.
Umm.. You should try the B125 ROM. If the problem still exists, bring it back to repair. The hot backplate is "natural" with some hwkiller apps/games at this phone.. But 'cause of wi-fi I never had this problem.. The wi-fi on my P6 is always on, as it losts the IMEI and the only way I can use it with internet is wi-fi.. I had heat problems only with HQ MMO RPG games. I think the GPU is the one that eats the battery and heats the phone.

Hmmm....
I dont play any games. Does this look like an unusually fast drain time? How long do you get from yours? Would try a different ROM but I'm a bit worried about flashing and bricking. Can I go straight to the B125 from stock? Not very experienced with android. Is B125 a different kernel?!
Thanks.

The rom that comes from factory had heat and battery problems. B125 is far better rom, and yes it is stock and has kernel changes too. Download and instructions you can read from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2566453
edit: or jump directly to new leaked B132 rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51188666&postcount=58

Does my screenshot look like a sotfware issue?
Hello again!
Any more thoughts on this? Does it look like a faulty unit? Im running B116 at the moment. Will try a different ROM tonight or tomorrow.

less likely that its about being a faulty unit. And more likely that you have battery draining applications/ connections etc running in the background. While the latest rom will for sure give better performance and battery, but if there are battery draining stuff in the background, you need to adjust them for sure.
On B125 my battery drain was 10% in 3Hrs nd 35mins.

How much "miscellaneous" battery drain is normal after google fixed the lollipop bug?

How much "miscellaneous" battery drain is normal after google fixed the lollipop bug?
I've read about the initial bug in lollipop causing high battery drain under the entry "miscellaneous". I'm using a 5.0.2 rom (as far as I've understood from the information about it) so the bug should be fixed. Yet I'm seeing quite some battery drain going to this "miscelanous" entry. Right now it's 9%, screen is first at 10% but I still feel 9% sounds like quite a lot or is this correct? What's "normal" here?

Im seeing the same - Misc is at 14% now and Screen at 10%. not sure if its WiFi related, as was the case with the early 5.0 release for the nexus 5, or if its related to NFC / something else?

What bothers me is that we do not know if this is "rediscovered" battery use that previously just wasn't reported, or if it's a new drain coming with lollipop. I like lollipop but there are quite a few things about the code that has me concerned.

I dont think its the same bug. The Miscellaneous Drain encompases many things that run in the background that don't have their own status group in the battery stats. Usually, they are small drains compared to the screen, apps etc... it will be hard to determine whats causing it, unless you are a developer i think. Still the battery life isnt bad, so not really bothering me too much.

I had some battery issues coming to lollipop as compared to kitkat so I guess that made me more doubtful. On my device misc always use up about as much as the screen which sounds like a whole lot that the cell has no idea where it went.
did you have it after flashing? or is it always there?
it only appears for me after using TWRP.

I'm not sure as I started flashing pretty much the first thing I did with the LG G3 that is affected by it. Do you think TWRP itself is to blame or rather an incompatibility with custom roms? I've not flashed stock to compare, but I could check my wifes phone, she is stock wout any root or hacking.

Abnormal battery drain

After installing lollipop OTA, I experienced battery drain, so I did a factory reset and the battery was better than ever. Now recently, for the past 3 days, the battery is awful. Doesn't even keep a charge for like 5 hours. Look at the screenshot. I am fed up of always doing factory resets, and I barely have any apps installed. This isn't normal. I have an SD card, I tried removing it for a day and I still experienced the same battery drain.
Gsam / WLD / BBS?

I find battery life unstable too on all Lollipop versions from D to H. Test versions had much better battery life.
I also tried greenifying apps that wake my phone often, but still I see percentage drop even when I don't use the phone. I barely use phone thourghout the day (30mins-1hour on screen time in the end of the day) and I am left with 70% before going to sleep.
Try doing a CSE flash via FlashTool versus doing a factory reset. See if that helps.

Are you saying HIT (like a dent) or did you mean HOT???
my D855 and D858 got massive battery drain from Android 5.0 update and got HOT for no reason, and i downgraded back to 4.4 and everything is better, but it still get hot when using it for a while, probably from the screen.
