[Sony] Xperia Open Devices Project - Xperia Z1 Original Android Development

Sony Mobile is committed to supporting the open developer community, and one way to show this is by publishing parts of our code as well as selected tools developed by our internal developers.
For some of the Xperia™ devices, we provide Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) device configurations on GitHub. This means that the software will be open for you as a developer to use and contribute to. This is a way for us to support the open Android community, and it is also a tool for us to facilitate and verify contributions to AOSP.
If you want to build AOSP for your unlocked Xperia device, you find all the resources you need in the sections below.

@jerpelea
I compiled AOSP using Sony's instructions and was able to boot fine into the ROM.
I also used the offical recovery mode update from Sony's developer page.
I can enter recovery with power + vol down, but when I use 'adb reboot recovery', it does not work (boots direct into the AOSP, like a normal reboot). Is this expected?
Do I have to use the extract_elf_ramdisk in my AOSP build, like CyanogenMod?
Thanks!

Is this a bootloader thing?
Or is something in the kernel?

I have a C6902 device, and I'm unable to see the open devices bootloader update for my phone in Flashtool, both while using stock and AOSP. Will it only work for C6903, or can I get a .ftf file and flash it with flashtool?

But those are only for Lollipop Unfortunately still no camera on marshmallow

It appears as some people have been able to unlock the bootloader if the c6916 z1s (USA), using the regular z1 unlocking method on the Sony dev site. This didn't week for my z1s though. Is the camera permanently broken regardless of ROM after unlocking the bootloader? And why does it with to do this with some c6916 z1s units and not others? :/

Can you confirm is it possible to unlock the bootloader please.. Anyone else have tried it. Thanks in advance

Hit the modem 2 times as it was taking long for the Internet led to glow
Clicked the Firefox icon 5 or 6 times as the first click wasn't fast enough
Launched xda
Went furiously in Xperia m - > original android developed subsection
Began looking for cm12 thread - and nothing

Wifi works great, GSM and data connectivity too. Call quality is good, and i really like the design of the new dialer. ROM seems so smooth, maybe even smoother than CM11/AOSP.

[Q] Bootloader Allowed No, but yes.

Hello. My Xperia Z1 Compact has Bootloader Unlock allowed: No. However, if I try to fastboot (volume up while connecting to PC), the device’s LED light turns into Blue.
I read somewhere that this means I actually CAN unlock the bootloader. Is it safe to try?
Thank you!

Hi,
Greetings!!
Please help!
Can anyone advise me for the most latest & stable custom Rom for Xperia T3 D5103 with step by step guide.
If FXP Team is the answer, then which is the best one to consider "AOSP by FXP - Android 6.0 - AOSP_M_160717_seagull.zip" or "CM 12.1 by FXP - cm-12.1-20150715-UNOFFICIAL-seagull.zip" or other older versions.
Currently running stock Rom 4.4.4 build 18.1.A.2.25

It should work even you take XA1. That is why they need IMEI number to sort out. I just download the kernel source and need some info to build custom recovery. I successfully build kernel.

Would unlocking the bootloader have any impact on the phone such as high image noise/poor image quality?
If not, what are the negatives of unlocking the bootloader?
Previously on my old Xperia Z2, unlocking the bootloader removes image enhancements and introduces noise in the camera...

The only way to update is by using flashtool to manually update. However, you will need to root once again after updating using the same method as before.
Also, to update via flash tool, you will need to get hold of the FTF file to update.

Xperia T3 Android 7.0

I was searching for Xperia T3 custom ROMs and I didn't find any ROMs for it except for the stock ROM and the other ROM that I found, the guy said it wasn't tested if it was buggy. Also I never found a 7.0 ROM for it but I also found duplicate vids which were fake, because people said it in the comments. Guys will you develop a ROM for it or can I find the stable 6.0 ROM?

Hello guys,
I need a little help with this. As I don't own this device, I need information about its sensors. Could any of you install CPU-Z and take screenshots of all the tabs?
Thank you

Hi. I have a Sony Xperia T3, too. But my version is D5102, not D5103, and almost no one could create the rom for my D5102. Could you help me? Please!
Thanks, Dat.

Yes, my plan is to make the ROM compatible with all variants. But I need CPU-Z screenshots from stock ROM to know which sensors are working on this device.
I guess I could send you a TWRP recovery to test if kernel works.

My D5102 doesn't have recovery partition so the recovery is placed in the /root. And it doesn't have bootloader update to run newer android version. Do you think is it possible to make my device (D5102) to run a newer androidm?

Thanks for this info too. I have Xperia E3 with two bootloader versions: stock and new one.
We are using stock to run LineageOS 14.1 and it doesn't have recovery support, but it has a partition named FOTAKernel which works as recovery partition. We can use it to store recovery and modify boot.img to launch it after pressing a volume key. We can also store recovery ramdisk on boot.img so we have solutions for this. Don't worry.

Also, i heard from my friend that because my device doesn't receive the bootloader update from sony but the d5103 does. Does this affect to the ability to run newer os?

I used to think that before but if you configure kernel ok it will boot on stock bootloader.
What I'm doing is to take device tree from all variants from stock kernel to create the new kernel. It should make it work with stock bootloader.

I've not ported some drivers yet, this weekend I'll try to finish kernel.
EDIT: I will wait to start Christmas to continue the work because I'm a bit busy these days, I'm sorry.
