No Signal (SIM 1 stuck in CDMA Mode) - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
While trying to set "WCDMA Preffered" in engineering mode *#*#4636#*#*, I did some changes in "Select Radio Band" option.
After which phone is totally stuck in CDMA mode. I tried with all three options available in Radio Band. (US Band, PCS, Cellular) but none helped me to fix.
In engineering mode, its always showing the CDMA IMEI and not detecting any GSM signal. This problem is only with SIM1. SIM2 seems to be working fine.
Ph variant: A5_DWG India, Kitkat Stock rooted.
Steps I did:
1) Did a full data wipe. But still issue persists.
2) Restored the back up of my stock ROM but still no go.
I request all experts to guide me fix this problem.

I'm also having the problem, did you find any solution?

[SOLVED] Can't get 4G/LTE after restoring

Hey all. I'm currently running a D855V (Australian model) rooted on stock Android 4.4.2.
So I recently upgraded to Lollipop but couldn't use it fully due to issues with some other software of mine. So I used the KDZ method to flash back to 10E. Since then I've lost all 4G/LTE on my phone.
I've tried changing the networking mode inside the mobile network settings from GSM/WCDMA to GSM/WCDMA/LTE but once selected my entire mobile network will drop. From there it will regain network connectivity for about 10 seconds (minus any data connection) and then drop off again, showing no network. It will continue to do this until I change the network type back to GSM/WCDMA or reboot (which defaults the connectivity method back to GSM/WCDMA anyway). I tried flashing the 10C firmware too (for Australia) but this will do the exact same thing.
I've also tried changing the LTE RAT settings inside the hidden menu to GSM/WCDMA/LTE and it still won't connect. It will drop the network like the previous method but will then reconnect only with a HSDPA connection rather than 4G/LTE.
I've checked the SIM card in another phone and it works fine with 4G/LTE. I've also checked my IMEI and it shows that I do have one so I can rule that out. Right now I"m at a loss. I'm thinking I need to flash a new radio or baseband but I can't find any info about that from any of the other threads I've read.
Any info at this stage would be great as it sucks having the 2nd best 4G speeds in the world and not being able to use them.
Cheers all.
EDIT: Resolved it by flashing KK modem/baseband. Thanks to JDr0iD for the suggestion. Turns out the KK and LP basebands are done differently. Figures considering the massive overhaul they've done with it. Anyway the modem can be found here - https://mega.co.nz/#!61QBVS5B!pa2xdGyeWAJKyAazkz9O8qc5b9hJOpxX5kaU_aFdjq4

Hey mate. Do you think modem is still linked to lollipop? Try another modem or restore EFS to see if makes a difference
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
think it might be an lteconfig issue?

No signal problem.

Hi.
I bought a second hand m9, all was fine, then I unlocked the bootloader and make it S-off, flashed twrp and rooted.
I decided to put in my sim card but the phone won't get any signal, only emergency calls, I checked the imei and it is clear, no blacklisted. I tried different radio, flashed new firmware, and nothing works.
The sim is ok, the phone reads the sim correctly but won't reach any signal, the notification panel say "no service" and I cannot find any network in the "network operators" menu.
I also changed the imei using "oem writeimei" fastboot command it works but the phone still won't recognize the carrier, so I already frustrated and tired.
Which are your suggestions?
Thank you.
Is the network compatible? Cdma vs gsm..

Please Help! Need to reset the band on Moto Z Play

I have accidentally set the band to the USA band on my Indian Moto Z Play that I purchased yesterday (using the *#*#4636#*#* menu). None of the SIM cards are working now.
I did some research, and the solution seems to be to flash and format to the stock firmware. Where can I find the Indian stock firmware for the Moto Z Play?
The baseband version is:
M8953_10208.08.04.47R
ADDISIN_ROWSDS_CUST
The build number is: MPN24.104-44.
The closest I have been able to find is "XT1635-02_ADDISON_RETASIA_6.0.1_MPN24.104-44_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC" from mirrors.lolinet.com.
This has the same build number as mine.
It says however RETASIA or Retail Asia, whereas my software channel is listed as RETIN or Retail India.
Should I try and flash with this anyways? I just need to get my dual sim to work with the Indian bands.
I also have an option to return my phone but I am reluctant to do that because this phone has been working perfect otherwise.
I was able to find a solution online that worked. For anyone else facing the same issue: this was posted by someone called iamaditya at cnet forums:
(Skip 1 and 2 if developer options show in your phone settings)
1. Open settings in your phone tap on about phone tap 5 times on build number.
2. Come back to the settings and you can find Developer options. Tap on it.
3. Tap "ON" and enable "USB debugging"
4. Download adb kits in your PC from "adbshell.com/downloads"
5. Install the same. When asked for driver installation press "y"
6. Open command prompt and enter
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot reboot

After the fix I mentioned, it is working fine for me. When I set it to USA Band, not much happened initially but I switched off phone in the night and next morning the sims stopped working. Turns out this happens to everyone who selects the USA Band and is not in the USA . It's a bug in Android - you should be able to see 6-7 selections including "auto" which is selected by default but all we see is the one option USA Band , and after selecting that there is no option to go back. So once selected, unless your carrier uses the same band as one in the US or you of course you are yourself in the US , you would have problems. Even if you are in the US if you go outside, you would have problems in other countries. This is what I found out by some Google searches anyways. But thankfully it was a quick fix and is working fine now. I am hoping that it's " all normal " now.
I am trying that app you mentioned but I think it needs root.
Thanks

RETASIA AND RETIN R THE SAME BUILDS
RETASIA is the Indian ver.
Thanks for the info. I think I read somewhere that flashing retasia broke the dual sim? I won't be flashing anyways as the issue got resolved by erasing the modem caches.
Thanks
Can't find definitive information anywhere so posting to this thread. What LTE bands are supported by he RETIN (Retail India) version of the Z Play? Thanks for any help.

No mobile data after flashing leedroid's rom

I flashed Leedroid's rom a while a go to use on my HTC 10 while I was getting my u12+ repaired. Well when I finally put my sim card into the device, the phone does not detect the carrier (T-mobile) and under the "mobile data" setting it says it is disconnected. Normally a notification should show up saying select which network to connect to, but I was not given that option. I checked the mobile network settings, and it did say that T-Mobile is my network operator, and my network mode is set to GSM / WCDMA / LTE Auto. When flashing the rom I made sure I was on the latest version of Oreo provided by HTC. I have no idea what to do now, a previous thread said to go to *#*#4636#*#*, but when I entered in the code, it cleared the number and did not display the settings menu. What do I do now? Thanks.,

What did you select in Aroma when installing Leedroid? A super quick search in the Leedroid thread mentions that you might need to select U.S Unlocked (or tmobile?). In fact that's probably a good reason why you'd be much better off asking your question in that thread.
Also it would help if you could post your original software info.

A505U without network connection

Hello everyone,
So, I bought a A50 (A505U) Unlocked, but from SPRINT, on Ebay, when I was in the USA. I bought it to give to my mom, here in Brazil. When I got here and put my mom GSM sim card the A50 recognized the network of her operator (TIM), but an OMADM error of the SPRINT network appeared. So I`ve decided change stock ROM from Sprint to another unbranded one. Here is the problem, I`ve already tried several ROMs, but none of it recognized the network. I always got "emergency call only". If I put T-Mobile sim card, it works. I`ve already tryed countless versions, Android 9 and Android 10, with all CSC versions that I saw. I`ve downloaded many ROM versions avaliable (https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-A505U), but I`m stuck with it.
I can`t change CSC with (*#272*IMEI#), because it doesn't work. I can`t root and edit CSC file, because U versions doesn`t have bootloader unlockable. And I can`t figure it out which ROM version will allow network.
Please, please, for the love of God, can anybody help me?
Did you manage to solve it?

I believe your phone was unlocked by a third party service. When you installed the U1 firmware. It removed the unlock.
That is why your phone must be displaying "sim card crashed".
Going back to sprint csc isn't really going to change this.
You will have to get the phone unlocked again.
You can go back to sprint csc. By installing U1 firmware and putting in the sprint sim card. Or by putting in a Verizon sim card and then using that *#272*imei# code.
I'm having the exact same issue with an used phone that I bought

What do you mean by "unlocked by a third party service"? How can I perform that?
