Photos in gallery tagged with GPS location - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Hello All,
So Im looking at my photos in the gallery and they're tagged with GPS info.
I've checked the camera and it says the geo location is off. I've tried to enter settings in the gallery app but doesnt seem to be an option. I've also checked my geo location in other apps and everything is turned off.
Does anyone know why this could be or how to turn it off?
Thanks for taking a look!

Not happening on mine.

[Q] Geotag data not recognised by iPhoto

I am using a HTC Sense ROM (VillainROM for the Desire, specifically) and tried testing out Geotagging for the first time today.
I set my GPS to on, and took the photo with the geotagging setting switched on in the stock camera app.
But when I imported it into iPhoto, it wouldn't show the location on the map.
I presume this is because it uses GPS to tag a photo and since the photo was taken inside it didn't get a location and thus didn't tag it?
If that's the case, is there anyway to force the camera app to use mobile triangulation for geotagging photos, or an app that can do this?

media scanner running

Ok, I downloaded the app called "Mobile Hidden Camera"
Tried it once and got out of it
Tried to look at the pictures it took - says "media scanner running..."
Wiped app data and uninstalled
Still can't look at gallery or use native camera - I can however use the CameraFX app, but cannot view pictures afterwards
Heeeeeeelp.... (I also sent an email to the dev of the app but no response as of yet.)

LocationManagerService enthusiastically killing my battery!

Hi. I'm on stock Voda in the UK and have been having absolutely terrible battery life, so I bought BetterBattery and am getting HUGE partial wakelock use from LocationManagerService, which seems to be the culprit. Do I have to disable everything to do with my location to stop this?
Many thanks, in advance.

Sorry to bump this, but I would love some help - my phone drains like you wouldn't believe. Thanks!
You Use Facebook?
Or any app that needs location info frequently? Try disabling location updates in apps. Worst case, turn off location services when you don't need them.

Thanks for the replies. I do use Facebook, yes, but I only have my refresh interval set at 2 hours.
If I disable location updates in apps, how will that affect things?
Certain apps will notify you that location services are off and they need to be on. So you determine when to turn on. Google search will probably fail to show nearby stuff but nothing serious.

Aaaargh! I've gone into Settings >> Locations and turned everything off, but my Partial Wakelock use for LocationManagerService is still through the roof. I can't see a 'Location Updates' setting in Apps - am I looking in the wrong place?
Thanks for your help!

im on uk voda too and had the same issue.
go to settings > location > untick "googles location service"
this will stop tracking in the background and prevent latitude from working and stop google maps knowing your location which can make it take up to 1 minute to find you when you open maps instead of 5 seconds etc.
reboot the phone and check if you still get the partial wake locks from it (i also got hundreads per hour).
make sure google plus app is not syncing too much, or that you dont have location tracking for glympse or wifi automation / tasker etc enabled.
i also disabled the following apps which may help (test 1 at a time):
Car
Facebook (try friendcaster instead) - apparently facebook does NOT respect the location service settings, it will still update etc, so force close and disable it, then check with batterystats to see if the wakelocks are gone - they probs will be.
Friend stream app & widgets
Joyn
Locations widget (none of the other locations app items can be disable without root)
Navigate widget
news and weather
picasa web albums
Trip widget
Twitter for htc sense
Weather (HTC) & LWP & widgets
hope this helps.
Thank you for the advice, which I have followed. Unfortunately, I still have the problem. I would be most grateful if anyone had any further suggestions!
*Tears out hair*
Do you have Google Latitude activated by any chance? This usually is the cause for these wake locks. Disable latitude and you will see it gets better. With the last updates of Google maps it has become worse. It seems with maps on the device Google is collection traffic data. If you deinstall maps the problem will be gone for sure, but check latitude first.

That's odd - I can't find Latitude, either in my Apps or on my phone. Would it be part of another App? (I looked under 'maps', but couldn't find it there...)
Checked everywhere - no Google Latitude loaded. Hmmm...
Run Maps, goto settings, location settings.

Thank you. Nothing is checked there at all - do I select 'do not update your location' as well?

Buggy GPS with Google maps/navigation on GNex Yakju 4.2

Hi.
Since 4.2, google navigation is unable to locate me on the map. As a result it just doesn't work and stay on "locating your position" or something like that.
If I use other gps based app (such ingress, car home ultra, etc....) those app have no problem to find me accurately.
I've tried clearing cache and data in the app section of control pannel. Also in the recovery mode but no success.
I use the latest map app version
I use stock rom for yakju 4.2 on a galaxy nexus
------------------EDIT WITH THE SOLUTION-------------------
Thanx to @Enforceman here's the solution:
-on main page press the search bar at the top (box written Google following of a mike symbol). This will open Google Now
-then Google now will tell you that location service is currently Off.
-You will have a link to a setting menu to turn it on
-Go in that menu and turn it on.
THERE IS IT. YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE A WORKING GPS with google apps.
What Google should have done at first is that after the OTA at reboot they should have put a windows asking if we would like to turn on that feature. After a clean wipe it will work because they explain google now. But not after the ota......anyway it is done, it work, that's all that matter for me

Anyone having this issue?
I've aslo noticed that the camera app can't get geo-location infos.....but Camera FX does.
So it is really something about the google apps! Any non-google apps work perfectly with GPS and the GPS test app work fine.

I had this issue too. Other GPS apps would locate me but Google maps would not after 4.2 OTA even though location services were turned on in settings. Apparently, that setting is for non-google apps and there is another setting switch somewhere for google apps.
I found a fix after I noticed that my Google Now cards were not working. I clicked on the top search bar which brings up search and google Now. At the bottom there was a message that said my location access was turned off. I clicked on that and then clicked on the settings link that it had.
It brought me to a new white setting screen with a switch for location access which i switched to ON. It seems that this specific switch has to be on for google apps to access the GPS.
Works now. Hope that helps

missing geotag from photos

I have not changed any settings in my phone, but recently all the pictures I am taking do not seem to automatically attach geotag information.
Anybody have any advice?
Inside settings, in location it is high accuracy mode...
Hi, you can try out Auto Stamper app.
