Anxiously awaiting root - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Ok I am anxiously awaiting root for the S6 Edge+, something that hopefully won't trip Knox. I have rooted ll my phones in past years thru help from XDA, so hopefully you awesome dev's are close to an answer for this!

I am not worried about knox, but want root. I even tried kingo root but was unsuccessful.

I didn't find the need to root

I concur but relieving this beast of some of the bloat would be heaven sent.

Just a heads up, it is not AOI6 Confirmed. Nor has it been confirmed that it does not trip KNOX.

There's a root that's been confirmed for AOI6. Apparently it does trip Knox as well as breaking Samsung Pay. Just an FYI. The thread is in the development section.

Outstanding! Thanks to all! Will be waiting for recovery then root for sure.

Could someone give me a step by step on this?

Use the toolkit in the original development section. It does everything for you. Doesn't get any easier

Thanks for answering, didn't use it because read some posts where people said they bricked their device while using it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Any bricking was the result of people not paying attention. As long as you can read english , you have nothing to worry about

Cf auto root is extremely easy too

Not so sure about people mistaking it when flashing, the thread is closed right now says that the software cant be distributed in its current form.

I too am leary of rooting due to bricking comments. Have you, or anyone, found a way to get twrp installed on top of "officially updated" 4.2.2 unit?
if so, please post link.
thnx
Just rooted my device with cf's worked great, using 4.1.2 though

i rooted my phone by cf auto root and toolkit. both was working well. but i think cf auto is faster and easier.

Is 4.3 a fota?

My grandma has a sprint Note 2 (I have an S3) and is the 4.3 a FOTA? I won't be able to get to her until like Dec 20th and root her phone.and install CM or modded stock. I told her to click no whenever possible for the update. And she said she will. But if it forces I can't help that. I'm trying to avoid KNOX.

The Sprint Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update did not include KNOX.
Yes it is knox is on that update I had to use root to remove it . But lorjay589 has a rom with 4.3 without knox bootloader or any of the knox files that's what I'm running now. Try reading the threats for more info to help you out more.

So Knox can be removed on these phones?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Yup it can read around the forum it can be completely non existent on 4.3 using lorjay 598 rom or removing it your self. His rom even remove the knox bootloader which prevent you from downgrading . Read the thread he has

Well she is 100% stock not rooted. Fota stands for forced ota so can she just keep tapping no until I can get to her and root it and flash a 4.3 ROM?

You're Right!

I had read that Samsung did not push KNOX out on the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 (4.3) update because of file size, but I found the files on my Note 2 using Elixir. I don't have the app icon, but the files are certainly loaded on my phone. Thanks for the heads up!
No problem. Some devices have the icon in the app drawer like my s4 but this does not sneaky samsung.

What is the best way too root T-Mobile Note 3

Hello everyone, I just got my TMO Note 3 today and I was really excited about rooting it and all but to my surprise when I search the threads for tutorials on how to root i came across two. Which both warned about the whole KNOX crap. My question is simple, which is the best way to go if my phone already has 4.3 on it and I don't care about tripping KNOX?
Thanks in advanced
CF Auto root was a 123 for me. I don't care about KNOX since I flashed CM on it for a while anyways

New to rooting

I have a S3 I747 4.3 and have never rooted before. Can anyone help me to root with a Mac. It relay frustrating trying to find a method for a Mac. I tried motochopper but it didn't work

Instead of using pc toolls..use android tools like ONE CLICK ROOt Or FARMAROOT
Sent from my GT-S7562 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Will that work on 4.3, and what do you know about Croat?

Do you have any warranty left on your phone? If you do, rooting may trip the Knox counter and void the warranty.
I'm not worried about the warranty I just want my phone to be better
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Rooting will certainly allow you to remove bloatware and the like.
Do you have VMWare on your mac? If you do, you may be able to follow one of the 4.3 rooting guides that requires a PC.
No I don't have amything. So I need a step be step that can be used on a Mac.

At&T
As a side note, rooting will not automatically make your phone better.
If you have access to a PC, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991
My main reason to root it the battery, bloat ware, and free tether. Sadly I only have a Mac and its like pulling teeth trying to find a way to root for 4.3 on a dang mac . Looks like I may have to find a Buddy with a pc

Just noticed that it doesn't work on 4.3

Just got a note 8 on Att....

Trying to root so I can install a debloated ROM but I don't know which model this is. I know its gt-n51xx what's the last two digits?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you bought an att note 8, the model number is actually i467.
There is a method to root our device, but since it has a locked boot loader we do not have the ability to install a custom recovery or flash custom Roms yet...
Hopefully someone smarter than me can figure that out...

I used SafeRoot to root mine. I followed the method in the [ROOT] Saferoot: Root for VRUEMJ7, MK2, and Android 4.3 thread including the Tomsgt YouTube video instructions and had no problems.
sgh-i467 ROM?

I was able to root mine, using saferoot, very easy. but i cannot find any ROM's. did you find any, please let me know. thanks,
Yeah, there is no ROMs available but you do have the option for 4.3.x or 4.4.x when AT&T decides to update.
I have no issues with AT&T 4.1.2 once I safe rooted.
Had purchased new in March, and is the best $220 for a unlocked US tablet I ever spent.
Pretty much the same setup as what I have on my Note 8.0 WIFI only.
