[App] New: Button LED off - Elephone P8000

Hello ,
I have a small app created with which you can switch off the LED.
Here you can download them
https://sites.google.com/site/jegi0605/led-control
feedback would be nice
New Version V1.1
- without reboot
.

Hi Jegi,
there seems to be a typo regarding the value for charge-led-brightness:
chmod 666 /sys/class/leds/red/brightness
echo 20 > /sys/class/leds/red/brightness
chmod 444 /sys/class/leds/red/brightness
And maybe I would do a:
chmod 555 /sys
after setting universal permission to write to /sys.
thanks a lot for your mod, exactly what I was searching for!
regards, Simon
-----------
after digging a little further the ChargeLedOff script not only deactivates the super-bright-homebutton while charging but also for all notifications. I tried to change the value in max_brightness but it is stuck at 255 Would be great being able to disable charge indication but keep the led notifications.

Permissions
Could you screenshot the permissions for us lay folk please? ****Disregard, I googled.

exactly. the values for led brightness are embed into the kernel too, i think.
so we need to decompile the zimage form the boot.img and change it there...
for example :
full - 255 value
dim to - 80 value

Hello folks,
thanks. is there a way - only to deactivate the charging led? it is so bright, I can read books only with this led in my sleeping room.

Followed all the steps, didn't work... What can I do?

install xposed framework and gravitybox
after that you can turn off charging led

Hi jegi0605,
Thanks for your work, but it happens to me the same than to munky-head. I followed all the steps carefully and it didn't work. I have the Eragon ROM version 4.0. I don't know if that can have something to do or it can be something else.
Regarding the light I think the best would be always off but just illuminate when a notification is received. The led is even illuminated when the phone is off but charging what is really annoying. Or blinking when battery is down without any purpose.
Regards
Pd: As they comented before with xposed framework and GravityBox it is possible to disconnect the led when charging and blinking led when battery is low. I couldn't find an option to do it when you touch the buttons but I solved that with Keyboard backlight controller.

I tried and this one works fine. Thanks!
PD: After installing ROM ERAGON V5.0 Xposed Framework and GravityBox stoped working. So I tried your app and worked fine. No led light at all. I miss some possible configurations as I said, having the led when receiving notifications but not in the other occasions, etc. Anyway great contribution!

Thx ,
I can only LED on / off switch.
I think all the other options are integrated into the kernel
sorry

With eragon 4.0 for me it doesn't work. I've checked the init.d folder and the script is there with 755 permisions.
I have rebooted, but no luck.,
Thanks anyway for your work.

think there is some problem with. init.d
install this an enable. then it works

Added the dark theme as additional apk, just install it and change the theme in file manager settings
As well added a new version, you won't notice a difference, but would recommend to replace it still.

PA 3.6
Sry for my long absence, upstream update done.
It's as well more stable now (at least for me).
Reuploaded
Sry, replaced the apk with a new one, missed to revert the minsdk before, now it also works on 4.1, not only 4.2.
New version up, included the dark theme into the app directly.
NOTE: When you change from light to dark theme or back the app will crash, but after you open it again the theme will be switched as usual.

cmfm supports zips and unrar commands but only if these commands are presents in the filesystem (normally they aren't).
I ported both to android here:
https://github.com/jruesga/android_external_zip
https://github.com/jruesga/android_external_unrar
But i didn't obtain the permission to merge into cm. So you just need to compile them and put in your filesystem at /system/xbin with exec mode.
Btw, the theme anr and other deadlock fixes were fixed in upstream somedays ago.

Thanks for this.
I'm having problem obtaining root access. It is default as safe mode and can't change it because it's grayed out. Any fix for that?
I'm running 4.1.1 stock Alcatel One touch S'Pop.
@Tectas
Hey mate, you have probably stopped working on this but I just want to tell you that it works quite well on my Galaxy S Advance but there are some things that won't work..
Like Root access mode (option is greyed out), the storage bar on top (its "empty") and properties doesn't show the number of items and the size of a folder..
Hoping that you'll help me fix these little annoyances

First off all your rom works great.
Ok... i can read. maybe my last post was a bit confusing...
But you just ignored my question how to get stock fonts back again.
And the Magazine Launcher from your rom has an "pen" button on the left of menu button when you on homescreen wich allow you to edit home screens. I haven t see something like that on ony other build before. Why is this enabled? And how to disable that?
Best regards and thx for the last build deodexed

Sorry if i was a bit rude
The emoji font only affect the emoji icons which replace the samsung icons with the ios icons which is the same as whatsapp icons
If you still want the samsung icons i will upload a flashable zip
just let me know if you want it
Regarding the "pen" on home screen
I don'tknow how it is enabled and why
i thought it might be a stock feature on Australian rom
i am going to flash the stock rom and see if it is there or not
I am going to check other files also to see if i can disable it

Would love to test your work after you are done with it

Sure I will it could take some time...
Anyway to remove the "pen" we need to edit others.xml in system/csc.
There is a line <CscFeature_Launcher_ReplaceHotseatAreaInEditMode>
We need to change the value from TRUE to FALSE.

[Guide][MOD]Headset Notifier for Xperia Marshmallow

Hello everyone,
I want to share my Headset Notifier for any Xperia running on stock MM roms
It shows a notification when your headphone is plugged in.
*Actually this headphone notifier is modded Unsupported Headset Notifier.apk, because Sony disabled the notification when you plug your headphones.
*It should be working on any Xperia MM rom.
Okay, if you want to find the apk, check the attachment of this post and jump to Step 5.
If you want to try to mod it by yourself, here's the guide below:
Here's what we need:
-Notepad++
-Apktool (Version that support Android 6.0 Roms, I use Advanced ApkTool 2.1.1 to work.)
Steps:
1. Decompile your UnsupportedHeadset.apk
2. Go to res/values/ and open bools.xml with notepad++
3. Edit This Line(Change the red one):
<bool name="show_headset_plugin_icon_to_notification">false</bool>
Click to collapse
to:
<bool name="show_headset_plugin_icon_to_notification">true</bool>
Click to collapse
4. Save file and recompile and sign it. Done!
5. Install as normal apk or move to system/app/UnsupportedHeadsetNotifier/,and set permission to rw-r-r and then reboot.
*Maybe this mod needs Superuser mod (Patched Services.jar).
Edit:I added Flashable Zip below, flash it in your custom recovery.
Tested on:
-My Xperia Z3 with eXistenZ MM Rom - 23.5.A.1.203
Great find. Thanks for sharing this. Working fine...
what about if i want to add headset icon to the status bar when headset connected ? if you know the steps share with us please.thanks for this mod.

Don't worry!
I figured it out! How about change the package id?
I think it will not conflict with the original one!
Could install as a separate app, not cover.
Edit: .....But Hmm... after I wrote this post a few minutes, I found a question,
because you installed as a separated one.
It will have two (may conflict the notification showing)...
One makes it show(The one you installed)
And another one will block it down(The System one)
So report me if it shows the notification when you plug in,
If it cause conflict that makes it doesn't shows the notification, I will remove it, because that's useless and bad.
Edit 2: Or if it doesn't work because of conflict, you can try to disable UnsupportedHeadset Notifier in settings and reboot.

[ROOT][PIE] Night Light for XZ Premium (and many others)

Hey guys,
Rooted recently, got on Pie and found myself missing the Night Light - such a little thing that makes all the difference at night. Tried redoing the steps I did to enable it on Oreo but failed.
Anyway, long story short, after a few xda threads I installed Pix3lify, which is a hit n miss - and I already had Digital Wellbeing port. So I extracted the apks responsible for night light only and put them in a zip.
The apk had a lot of lines reporting to Ambient display and other functionalities which have been removed - the apk has 2kb and enables night light - just that.
Install: Copy nightLight.apk to system > vendor > overlay (set 644/-rw-r--r-- permissions). Best to use MIXplorer
OR
Flash the zip via TWRP/Magisk Installer (Nightlight_v1)- Thanks to @alagga for the Magisk Module
Since the port is from Pixel, it goes hand in hand with Digital Wellbeing port (magisk module).
Night Light settings in Display > Advanced > Night Light. Quick settings tile present in the dropdown customization area.
Have a good Night(Light)
Thank you very much, it's an excellent job, it works perfectly

Rooted recently, got on Pie and found myself missing the Night Light - such a little thing that makes all the difference at night. Tried redoing the steps I did to enable it on Oreo but failed.
Anyway, long story short, after a few xda threads I installed Pix3lify, which is a hit n miss - and I already had Digital Wellbeing port. So I extracted the apks responsible for night light only and put them in a zip.
The apk had a lot of lines reporting to Ambient display and other functionalities which have been removed - the apk has 2kb and enables night light - just that.
Install: Flash the zip or copy the apk to system > vendor > overlay (+644 permissions).
Since the port is from Pixel, it goes hand in hand with Digital Wellbeing port (magisk module).
Have a good Night(Light)

Are there any chances to make it work using adb, just like the old Oreo apk? Because I am on stock unrooted

Not that I know of. Tried the old adb line but that won't work. Anyway, if you plan on rooting, make sure you do the DRM backup - totally worth the effort.

I will enjoy stock as much as I feel to, then my plan is to switch to LineageOs or other Rom, with nogapps

it doesn't work for me. I flashed through twrp and I also flashed the digital well-being through magisk.
Edit:you need to install the pixelify module.
Edit2:it crashes system UI with pixelify and it doesn't work just flashing the zip.
it doesn't work for me !
I reinstall and now it works
Thanks ???

I found pixelify a bit buggy for xzp, that's why I took out only the apk for ambient display/night light, modified the lines so it only enables night light. I only use the digital well-being. If the zip doesn't work try manually putting it in overlays and set permissions.
So no pixelify plugin, just that zip (tested on my xzp single sim on android pie).
Tell me how it goes
Flashing the ZIP didn't work for me. Copying the apk manually did though. Thanks!
Zip worked after a Little bit of flashing and copying. Dom anyone else havet worse screen respondnes?
Thank you for your work

@steso90
Thanks for the feedback! I've did the modifications very late at night so I recycled a zip I had in handy. There was a lot of copy/paste of the apk and not so much twrp flashing. Updated description.
And I didn't notice any screen sluggishness. I'll keep an eye out tho
Thanks again!
I can't modify the system partition and I'm running mixplorer with root. That's strange
Followed your instructions everything is working well

Double check the root permissions in magisk root section - perhaps you denied them by mistake. mixplorer has no issues manipulating root files - as long as it has the permission granted
[update]Strange. I can't seem to modify root folder structure - for example, adding a new folder in priv-app does nothing - tried with two file explorers. Best bet is to use a flashable zip for such apps or TWRP's file explorer which has plenty of manipulation options.
Cheers!

This night light port is running without problems on latest Pie firmware for the XZ1. Thank you very much! :good:

Could you do a port for the Ambient display feature, too? Its the only thing I'm missing: "Ambient display: Wake screen when you receive a notification" - Without this feature the notification light hints at the notification, but I have to press a button to see the notification.

In its original form, there were lines calling the ambient display. But it felt buggy and since the screen is LCD, I found it very inconvenient since my goal was the night light. I'll send the original overlay tomorrow.
Cheers

Would be nice, but no hurry! :good:
The original mod for Oreo worked also just installing the apk without root... do I need root for this one to work on Pie?

Disable high volume warning

Hi, I want to disable the High volume warning, I already have a solution, right now I use terminal shortcut pro and have created a shortcut to run the command
Code:
settings put global audio_safe_volume_state 0
it work great but doesn't survive a reboot so I have to run the shortcut after every reboot. I found an old thread on reddit that say adding the line
Code:
audio.safemedia.bypass=true
to build.prop can also disable the high volume warning, but the thread was so old, they were talking android 6.0
I plan to try to add this prop on boot using the magisk module MagiskHide Props Config, I know it work great because I already added a prop to reduce the media volume steps to 15 instead of 30, but i dont know if the prop
Code:
audio.safemedia.bypass=true
is still working on android 10
Another solution would be to have an app that run the terminal command
Code:
settings put global audio_safe_volume_state 0
automatically after boot, but I would prefer to add the prop line if anyone can confirm it still work on android 10
Thank you all !
Nice to know.... what's also wondering from time to time how to overcome the warning. let me know if you get it to a working solution.
Just for the last part: tasker would be the way to go.

After 24 hours testing the audio.safemedia.bypass=true with MagiskHide Props Config, I have not seen the warning yet, but I need to test it longer to be sure it work
Just a quick update for future search, the prop
Code:
audio.safemedia.bypass=true
seem to work, I have not seen the high volume warning for the whole week, so problem solved !
Hey one question, how were you able to edit the build.prop file? Whenever I try to do so with Root Explorer, it doesn't save my changes. OnePlus 8 Pro Android 10

Hello and thank you for finding a workaround for this stupid issue! Do you know if this is still working on android 11? After installing the module, how can I correctly set it? Thank you so much for your help
I tried setting it with termux but it's not working

I still use it with 11 on my OP7T but I am unsure if this prop remove the audio warning or if there is no warning at all on my device. Never tried 11 wihtout the prop so IDK.
Another way you can try is the system UI tuner app on the play store, there is a setting to disable the warning under the audio & sound category. Good luck !

Thank you for your reply! I kept trying to no avail. Can't make it work unfortunately. When you upgraded to android 11, did you make the procedure again from scratch? Can you please explain what you did on termux?
Is the system ui app an app that it's aways on background?
Thank you so much!

No the system UI tuner app just change some hidden android settings, it do not run in the background. The description of the app even state you can delete the app once you changed the desired setting. Read the whole description to understand how it work. Try it, I think this might be the best solution.

i can confirm that no app does change the setting of safe volume limit.
All tests on rooted device from LOS14-LOS19. Tried different apps like systemuituner, safevolumelimitdisabler, volumesteps+, jamesdsp etc.
Tried to patch the global variable "safe_media_volume" like described here on a rooted device but no luck.
Just ran
[adb shell] settings put global audio_safe_volume_state 0
via adb, when the message popped up, afterits i had to confirm the nag-screen, to raise the volume. it's so weird..
